Characters Name: Lion
Age: 3 in lion years which is around 20 in human years
Canon: Kemono Kingom Zoo (http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=58471)
Canon Point: Post-series
Species: lion
Gender: male
Orientation: Bisexual. During the chapter where his mane first started turning darker, he asked Snowy Owl to be his woman and from the way he acted around her before it's pretty clear that he's attracted to her at least a little. When Eagle was telling Lion to go with him and help protect the peace, Snowy Owl had gone over and hit him, telling Eagle to stop seducing Lion. Coupled with the way he somtimes reacts to Eagle it could be deduced that he's likely to swing both ways. Also, going by how he acts around Eagle and the way Lion says that it's normal to not be honest about your feelings around the one you love, it's pretty obvious that there's something there (though he refuses to admit it). With Eagle though, a large part of it is because Eagle was the first one, besides his family, to acknowledge him and that makes him special to Lion.

History: Lion's mother came to Upper Yard from Zoolandia at some unspecified point before the main story begins. That doesn't really matter though. What matters is that after she arrives she gives birth to Lion and his two sisters. However, despite the fact that he was born in Upper Yard, to everyone, he was 'Lion of Zoolandia' or 'that Zoolandia brat'. Even though the Upper Yard was the only place he knew, he was treated as an outsider.

After King Panda's death, Lion became the leader of the East side of Upper Yard, one of the factions seeking to take the throne from Lesser Panda. The Upper Yard was his home, if the animals of Upper Yard wouldn't acknowledge that then he'll take control of the Upper Yard and make it his. Then they could no longer call him an outsider and they would have to accept him.

At first it looked like the East had the advantage, especially with the previous Guardian, Kangaroo, went on maternity leave to raise his joeys leaving Eagle who can't fight or fly to take his place. It turns out though, that Kangaroo had left on maternity leave to secretly raise King Panda's son.

Despite that, things were still very much in Lion's favour. The Wise Sage that acted as the King's advisor had allied herself with Lion in secret and was acting as a spy for him. She brought him news about King Panda's son as well as drugged those from the West, leaving the future King defenseless.

At least, that was how it should have been.

Unfortunately for them, a couple of animals including Eagle as well as Door Mouse the ninja master weren't affected and in the end the East were repelled and both Lion and Snowy Owl (the Wise Sage) were arrested and punished.

However, Lion accepted his punishment without complaint. Even though he had set out to change Upper Yard, what ended up changing was Lion himself. Because someone told him, 'This is a peaceful country. There is a place for a bird who can't fly and a place for a stupid cat.' He ended up having to do community service under the supervision of Eagle.

Things were quiet for a while but then one day King Lion of Tama came to invade Upper Yard under the impression that Lion was being bullied and disgraced when he was forced to cut his mane. It was Lion who came out to fight him off, however. The Upper Yard was his country: he wouldn't let anyone attack it or the friends he made there. He managed to defeat King Lion and peace once again returned to the Upper Yard. Following these events, Lion was allowed to go free and no longer had to stay in the jail unless supervised. In addition to that, he was made the Guardian of the East along with Eagle who was the Guardian of the West.

Appearance: Lion's mane (hair) is a golden colour with some of it (specifically the parts of it near the nape) have become darker since he became an adult. His canines are pointed (because lion). Because he likes living in warm places he tends to wear very little and the vest he usually wears is open at the front showing off his six-pack. He also has a lion tail which will be gone in game

Personality:
Lion grew up being told that he was no good at hunting, that the role and responsibility as a male lion is to be the ultimate fighter instead of a good hunter. He would be strong so that when there is an enemy the females cannot bring down he will do it for them.

At his heart, that is what Lion is: a protector.

He will fight to the death to protect those that he cares for or just sees as belonging to his pride.

Unfortunately, while he can be really manly and cool when it's in a situation where he needs to fight his way to victory, he's fairly useless most any other time. His only skills are, sadly, fighting and giving massages.

Oh, and he can do a decent barbeque.

Besides anger, Lion isn't very good at expressing his feelings and even when he manages to do it it ends up sounding a little angry most of the time anyway. It's especially bad when it comes to people he likes because, according to Lion, it's normal to not be honest with your feelings with the person you like because you don't want them to think that you're weak. He's kind of stupid like that.

Of course, it's not all just due to stupidity or stubborness (though he has both in spades).

The reason Lion is afraid to open up to others about his feelings is because everyone thought of him as an outsider. Coupled with the lessons his mother instilled in him, Lion felt the only way to be acknowledged was to prove that he was strong. Strong enough to make the entire Upper Yard his, strong enough that everyone would accept his protection. Deep down, more than anything Lion just wants to be accepted and he once thought that the only way to do it was to be strong.

There is a degree of pride to it, of course. Lion doesn't like being treated like a child and he doesn't like to be thought of as weak when he managed to work through most of these issues. Pride is a big issue for all male lions since they are the leaders of their packs. While Lion doesn't put much stock in things like his mane being a symbol of his pride as a lion, he believes his pride is being strong enough to protect everyone. To question his strength is to question his pride and that is something he won't allow.

He also gets embarrassed by displays of affection, platonic or otherwise, from anyone other than his sisters. Despite being declared the Erotic King of Upper Yard, he can be surprisingly innocent. Actually, he doesn't really understand why everyone keeps calling him that (his mane did just recently change colour, after all). Part of it, though, is that, being used to others treating him like an outsider, he's always caught off guard when he is treated with kindness or acceptance.

Lion is also surprisingly honest and simple. Even though he says it's normal to be unable to tell the person you like about your true feelings, he also believes that you should never tell someone you like that you hate them. That's because Lion hates people who hate him, so why would he risk being hated by the person he likes by saying something like that? Lion can be honest to the point of being blunt most of the time since he doesn't bother to mince his words at all.

Part of the problem is that he doesn't always think of other people's feelings. Things like laughing at someone or telling someone their garden party is a very stupid idea are things he does without thinking. He's the sort of person who often says the first thing he thinks of.

Abilities:

- good night vision: he is a lion after all, so he can see better when there's very little light than humans.
- lions have the loudest roars of all cats. It can even be heard from 8 kilometers away. Lion of course, can also do this.
- Lion is raised to be a fighter and he is skilled in fighting uising his claws and sharp fangs. Even when he was fighting without them in the manga, he was shown to be a capable fighter.
- Being a sexy type character and Erotic King (neither are titles he accepts) he is gifted in the art of giving massages.

[It would be a while before Lion even realized what the webcam and, for that matter, the computer were for. He would eventually find out though (when someone told him).

He figured it wouldn't be that hard to figure out how to work them. Snowy Owl used to carry around a video recorder. How different could this be?

Different enough that when the webcam finally starts recording the video shakes because Lion just hit it with his fist.]

--you stupid...work!

[When the world stops shaking, the image is temporarily filled with the close up of an eye as Lion leans in to inspect the webcam before he moves back with some grumbling.]

How do I even know if this stupid thing is on, anyway? Why do we even need these complicated things? It's easier to just talk face-to-face, isn't it...

[He leans back in his chair, head propped up on a fist. He peers at the webcam with narrowed eyes, at once suspicious and angry (because he still wasn't entirely sure this stupid thing was even on). His entire posture was tense though there was an unmistakable air to him. The kind of pride and confidence that came naturally to the king of beasts.

Finally he growled. Whatever, it's not like anyone would know if he'd messed up and this thing wasn't actually working.]

Hey! If anyone from Upper Yard is here, tell me where you are! [He points at the webcam.] Especially you, you stupid bird!

Third Person:
Even before he opened his eyes, Lion already knew he was no longer in the Upper Yard. The air smelled different and, added to the fact that he couldn't seem to smell as well put him on edge.

He woke up to a world that was...entirely different from the Upper Yard, with its box-like structures and weirdly straight stone(?) paths. If he still had his tail it would be lashing back and forth right now.

That was another thing: what happened to his tail? It wasn't just that it was gone, it was as if it had never been there to begin with.

Lion growled as he prowled around the driveway, somehow projecting the feeling of an agitated big cat despite being visibly human and walking on two feet.

"Kangaroo! I swear if this is another one of your dumb pranks..." But Lion knew it wasn't. Not even Kangaroo could pull something like this off.

It would be a lie to say that Lion wasn't worried at all, but that worry was eclipsed by anger. Who ever took him from the Upper Yard better have a good reason for doing so, otherwise they would learn why it was a bad idea to mess with the Guardian of the East! He stopped and raised his head with another growl. That went double if they took anyone else. He swore to protect the peace of the Upper Yard. Anyone who tried to take away his people would pay for it.

Lion glared at the place where the driveway connected with the road. There were no trees to use for cover and this hard ground was hard to move silently on. But that was fine. He had never been trained for stealth anyway. Lion's responsibility was only to fight and to defend. He couldn't do that from here.

If anyone else from the Upper Yard was here then he'll find them.

With that in mind, Lion dashed down the driveway to start his search.

Characters Name: Miles Edgeworth
Age: 26
Canon: Ace Attorney
Canon Point: Post-Ace Attorney Investigations 1
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Orientation: Miles shows no particular interest in either sex (one could say he's more likely to be married to his profession), but is generally nicer and more respectful toward women, and he advocates proper treatment of women in word and deed. For example, this has been shown in how he admonishes one of his friends, Larry Butz, who tends to be more forward with women. So it would be better for Edgeworth to be "married" to a woman.

Re: Miles Edgeworth | Ace Attorney | NOT RESERVED

[personal profile] ditz 2013-05-03 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
Personality: For four years, many defense attorneys feared the name Miles Edgeworth - a name synonymous with underhanded tactics such as faking evidence, twisting testimonies and withholding vital information. Add his imperious disposition, his relentless campaign for guilty verdicts and his overflowing hatred for crime, and you have a most formidable opponent in the courtroom, a man with extraordinary intellectual gifts who will pull the rug from under your feet shortly after you come to the conclusion that he is a courteous, if icy, gentleman. He always knows how to win a case, and has kept a spotless record ever since becoming a prosecutor at the age of 20. After all, putting criminals behind bars was the only thing that mattered. Ever since his father, the revered defense attorney Gregory Edgeworth, was murdered and the supposedly lone suspect was cleared of guilt, Miles deviated from his father's path and chose the exact opposite, out of revenge and his own selfish goals. He also started prosecuting partly to punish himself; because of a nightmare that haunted him for fifteen years. It was a nightmare of a murder...of accidental patricide.

But his life began to take another turn when he ran into his old friend. Phoenix Wright, then a rookie, proved to be more than a match for Miles, and this obstinate and determined defense attorney who believed in his clients demolished the prosecutor's perfect record - and stood by him when Miles found himself in the defendant's chair, accused of murder. He soon began to trust in Phoenix, who worked toward a complete acquittal and also uncovered the secrets of the DL-6 incident, in which Gregory had been killed and the possibility of Miles ending his father's life was demolished once and for all. Miles now reconsidered the road he had taken...the road to guilty verdict after guilty verdict. Confused and unsure, Miles would disappear after a case in which he and Phoenix managed to cooperate to prove the defendant's innocence, "choosing death".

The death would turn out to be merely the death of his former self, which had been molded by despair and revenge. Miles returned after a year as a new man after deciding that his job, as a prosecutor, was to expose the truth and work hand in hand with the defense. He was placed on the side of court that doubted people as part of the greater plan to discover the truth and come to the correct verdict. Perfection was the furthest thing in his mind now, and he began working more actively with others to secure justice.

But some things remained the same. Miles is still as sharp and as intimidating (though he usually doesn't mean it this time, he will utilize this tactic if he must) as ever, always managing to notice things some people don't. Despite his encounters with the world of spirit channeling, he maintains that he is a man of logic and science, skeptical to believe in such things like magical items that unveil secrets in people's hearts. He still considers evidence very important - but for different reasons; this time, for unlocking the truth. Though he doesn't show it, he is genuinely concerned for his comrades (most of the time) and will do what he can for them - but isn't so impulsive as to make snap decisions that will do more harm than good. However, he retains a proud streak and never takes mistakes lying down, especially when he believes that he made those mistakes and when they have a huge impact on the situation. He will wish he was stronger, because strong men don't faint and give in to their phobias during a huge earthquake, but what he doesn't realize is that he is already strong in so many other ways, especially when he faces witnesses and criminals inside and outside the courtroom.

Miles remains formal and uptight as ever, not exactly a huge fan of fun, but if they knew him better, they would know that he has a hidden fanboy side, which is about as hidden as that more concerned side that wishes people weren't so impulsive. Despite this concern, his isolated upbringing and education following the DL-6 incident have given him little in the way of social interaction. He can be professional even beyond professional premises and circumstances. He can be frank at times to the point of sounding a little hurtful (the truth hurts, really), and his piercing sarcasm is something to be reckoned with, but his intentions are noble and after "choosing death", he has finally understood the importance of teamwork. Of course, that doesn't mean he'll be partying hard after every court victory from now on or mingling with all the folks who pass him by. He is far too much of a workaholic to do that; he is very passionate about his work and what he has committed himself to do.

Miles remains dedicated to his study of the law and has shown his unparalleled diligence time and again (it has been mentioned that he studies foreign legal systems and is often abroad, possibly either to further his additional education or for business matters; not only that, he claims to have prosecuted in other countries) and is determined to use it for the sake of the truth, and for the sake of others. Even if all hope seems lost and all his arguments have been rebutted, he will keep on trying to find that one nook or cranny he has yet to inspect, or that one angle he has yet to examine. He is not one to back down and throw in the towel. Because if he does, or if he commits one mistake in piecing all his information together, the truth will forever be lost.

Abilities: Miles doesn't have any supernatural powers whatsoever, although his grasp of logic, to some characters, is supernatural. It comes with being dubbed a genius prosecutor, earning his badge at the age of twenty, keeping a perfect win record for four years, and lawyering for six. But he does not stop at mastering the legal system he is used to and the law he employs in his work. He has pursued studies in foreign legal systems as well, and has prosecuted in five different countries. Presumably, this connotes knowledge of other languages apart from English. Having spent his studies in prosecution in Germany, he can also speak German.

Even the way he presents himself in the courtroom can be intimidating. Imagine staring down a prominent prosecutor who has earned his laurels, and who enters with his head held high, an icy stare and an entire arsenal of sarcasm, comebacks and arguments, who will not back down until the truth has been revealed in its entirety, who will not hesitate to put suspicious figures on the spot to obtain the information (or the confession) he has been searching for. Granted, he probably no longer intimidates people as much these days, but sometimes they still cower anyway, and some criminals can just be so stubborn that you would have to pull out all the stops to make sure the truth doesn't slip away.

He's sharp and not a lot of things escape his notice. Not only that, he deduce connections and conclusions with only the data he has on hand. Miles can take the pieces of a case and put them together like a jigsaw puzzle, filling in the gaps with the explanations and inferences he draws from careful examination of the facts he has on hand, and the logical possibilities. And not only can he construct his arguments, he can also deliver them well, showing that even the least plausible possibility remains exactly that - a possibility, which can then be confirmed with irrefutable evidence.

He has been into speech ever since he was in elementary school, having won awards for it as well as essays, golf and playing the flute then. Besides knowing how to play the flute, he has also mentioned knowing how to play the piano. The game also hints at Miles' interest and proficiency in chess (especially in Ace Attorney Investigations 2, where one of the game modes is Logic Chess, where he tries to trip up witnesses using arguments as his "chess pieces" and envisioning the confrontation as a game of chess - the AAI-2 equivalent of Psyche-Locks).

Third Person:

Miles Edgeworth had been about to pull out his organizer to take notes on the documents left with him as well as his strange circumstances in general; after all, it didn't make sense for him to fall asleep in his office and then wake up under a clear blue sky, on a lawn chair, in front of an unfamiliar house. But when he slipped his hand into the inner pocket of his blazer, where he was certain he had placed his organizer, he felt nothing.

He distinctly remembered taking his organizer out from his satchel and keeping it in a pocket for the time being. More out of instinct than anything, the prosecutor began to search the rest of his pockets, the dossier and the colorful set of keys left on the chair he had found himself lying on. The results frustrated him even more.

That was because he had no results. Everything he had in his pockets that day was missing - his wallet, his pen, his real car keys - with the notable exception of his cellphone. Miles gasped, too stunned to believe that even his prosecutor's badge was nowhere on his personage. Sure, he never actually wore it, but it was still an important item - proof of his profession, and sometimes a means of showing people that he truly meant business. Quickly he bent down and looked under the lawn chair, examined the grass in front of the house, and even the driveway where the car which was supposed to be his was parked. Gritting his teeth and narrowing his eyes, he refused to let a single patch of dirt or concrete go unchecked.

But when it became clear that his possessions were nowhere to be found, Miles straightened up again and sighed, staring at the documents and keys that he had left on the lawn chair as though hoping his gaze could set them both on fire and retrieve his missing objects. Obviously just because he didn't have his tools of the trade didn't mean he would call this investigation off. Besides, he could always borrow a pen and a piece of paper with which to dissect the lease contract more effectively; surely there was a loophole or a clause he must have missed regarding his odd circumstances. A contract always deserved more than one look.

Still, what was really grating was the loss of his prosecutor's badge. It tugged at him as though a part of him was lost. His forehead was furrowed in worry as he wondered where it could be.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Hakuei Ren
Age: 22
Canon: Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic
Canon Point: chapter 147
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Orientation: Heterosexual

History: Hakuei @ the Magi wiki
Appearance: What a babe.
Personality: Hakuei is described a kind, trustworthy person. The first time she appears, she saves a boy and a horse gone wild by leaping onto the horse and calming it down, smiling as she looks back down to the boy. Like that, it's not hard to see her as kind. As a general of an army though, it's not exactly what one would expect; however, Hakuei is the type of person to prefer the peace of diplomacy over the violence of war. She continually chooses to ask for opportunities to talk peacefully instead of subjugating other people through killing. Hakuei prefers diplomacy to the point of endangering herself; even when an entire clan is ready to wage war against her and even attacks her, she stands and takes the attack without blinking, all for the sake of convincing them just how serious she was about peace. It may seem naive to some people, but she believes that the only way to win people' hearts is by a "sublime ideal" rather than brute force. She's that determined to prevent as many deaths as possible. Her ultimate goal is to help unite the people of the world into "one world" so that they may live in a world where no one has to die.

However, that's not to say Hakuei is a pacifist; she is kind-hearted for sure, but she's a powerful and capable warrior that will kill when necessary. When one of her commanders, a violent, war-loving individual, attempts to stage a coup, she sentences him to death for his treachery and decides to execute him with her own hands. She doesn't take betrayal lightly, and reckless killing and bloodlust is one of the fastest ways to earn her fury. Hakuei won't stand for violence unless it is absolutely necessary; from what is seen, it never was, so her commander's desire to subjugate a village through force and violence was only met with anger and adamant refusal until he betrayed her. As expected of a general, she is intelligent and observant. Insults from her show that, and she's not above cruel mockery when angered. Her anger in general though is violent and furious. She's not above swearing when sufficiently enraged, so it's not a particularly good idea to cross her. While she may be a reasonable and undoubtedly good person, there's a reason why you wouldn't want to cross her.

Another way to anger her quickly is by threatening to hurt her younger brother, Hakuryuu. She's very protective of him, having taken care of him for the most part ever since her older brothers and father died. It's evident that she has somewhat of a motherly side when it comes to younger people, likely a result of having taken care of Hakuryuu for so long. However, with recent events, she's also become somewhat afraid of him. If her anger is violent and untamed, his is downright poisonous. She's aware enough to see that his anger is beginning to consume him, and that the power he's gained isn't helping in the least. While she trusts and loves her younger brother, she's also unsure of what to think when he tells her that their own mother was responsible for the death of their brothers and father. Undoubtedly she wants to help him, but for the time being she tells him that she needs time to think about things. Even though she wants to believe in him, she can't quite bring herself to given his current state.

In more relaxed interactions, Hakuei is polite and respectful. She can be quite friendly and smiles freely when she gets the chance to; while she's not bursting with emotion all the time, she's not particularly reserved either. Of course, being the first princess of an empire, she's more than capable of speaking formally when the matter calls for it. At times, Hakuei can be too trusting; she tends to take people for their word, even when it's evident that they're not a trustworthy person. Despite her beauty and natural grace, traits that some characters actually envy her for, Hakuei doesn't seem to see herself as a woman. She takes the scar on her face with good cheer, a reminder of the peace she was able to achieve through negotiation and diplomacy, rather than a mark that can potentially ruin her for marriage; she even mentions all the numerous scars she already has lightly and without much care. As for hobbies and whatnot, she enjoys cooking, sewing, and is extremely skilled at riding horses; however, she's also absolutely terrible at cooking. It's been stated that her cooking has almost killed her servant and Hakuryuu many times. On the other hand though, she's so talented at sewing that her hand-embroidered works are famous.

Abilities: Hakuei has captured the dungeon of Paimon, the Djinn of Maniacal Love and Chaos. This has granted her the ability to control wind and even create tornadoes. While powerful, due to her small amount of Magoi, this doesn't last for long. Because Paimon is a fertile Djinn, many Household Vessels can be made and given to people who are either close to Hakuei or help her. Household Vessels can give special abilities to the users as well. Hakuei's Metal Vessal, with which she controls Paimon's power, is a metal flabellum with feather-like appendages.

Aside from her powers as a dungeon capturer, Hakuei is skilled in swordplay. It is her first weapon of choice when in close combat, and she is confident enough in her skills to challenge one of her commanders to a one-on-one duel. She is also extremely skilled at horse riding.
Other: please don't eat her cooking

First Person: Here.

Third Person: Hakuei sighed, putting the papers down and away to be looked at another time. She couldn't concentrate on them for the moment; how could she when a war was looming on the horizon? Even if the Kougas' elder seemed willing to speak with her, Hakuei had no right to offer peace and negotiation if Ryosai continued to threaten them like he had earlier that day. Perhaps she could discuss the matter with someone... But she was the general of the army; how could she expect her soldiers to follow her if she couldn't even come up with a plan?

It was harder than she expected, arguing for peace. No one could have really desired bloodshed over negotiation. If only they were willing to trust her more... Though again, she couldn't fault them much for that. Ryosai may have argued that subjugating them through force was the easier path, but Hakuei refused to agree to it. Such a method would only make them more likely to rebel one day, and there was no point in asking people to join the Kou Empire if the only other option was death. She had to convince them somehow, to win their hearts and prevent as many deaths as possible. The people Kouga clan were going to become people of the Kou Empire, her people; she had to protect them no matter what.

Now if only she could find a method! Putting away her papers for the day, Hakuei stepped out of her tent and into the brisk night air. Maybe a walk would be able to clear her head better.

Characters Name: Black☆Star
Age: 15-16 years old
Canon: Soul Eater
Canon Point: Chapter 109, during their battle with Kishin
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Orientation: Straight
History: Here.
Appearance: Here.

Personality:
One thing everyone should know about Black Star is that he’s not satisfied with the top. Oh no, he’s always pushing beyond that. He craves more and he refuses to be surpassed by the people around him. It doesn’t matter that he’s a human and the person beside him is a god. He will surpass their existence no matter what and make a name for himself. With that comes an extreme amount of arrogance. He doesn’t like it when people take his time in the spotlight unless he lets them (mostly involving his friends) and gets extremely angry when others look down on him. He’s very well known for having a self-absorbed soul and can only resonate with his partner, Tsubaki. Black Star is also known for referring to himself as ‘Great’ or ‘Big’, never forgetting to leave out an adjective so people won’t make a mistake.

But his arrogance shouldn’t be taken as a weakness. He may brag and boast but Black Star is a person who will never give up and dives headlong into the most dangerous situations. He’s absolutely dependent on his physical strength and endurance to pull him through any situation and it rarely fails him. Once, instead of practicing by sticking his finger in a pot of liquid that absorbed the soul, he simply drank it all, a fatal move for about every other person but him. He’s also apparently fairly decent at studying but tends to flop on tests because he really just doesn’t care. Either way, any challenge that’s presented to him, he dives head first into it to conquer it. HIs physical skills, however, don’t reflect on his mental faculties. He tends to lag behind others in terms of smarts and can never be called a genius in book smarts.

But you can’t forget his friends. Black Star, like his friend and rival Death the Kid, is very protective of his friends. He’s fine with giving them a fair share of popularity and more than happily will share danger with them. But if anyone dares to harm them, either physically or emotionally, he gets extremely worked up. Enough so that he’d probably end whomever tried to do such a thing. Along with that, he tends to be a person who doesn’t hold grudges for the past. He moves on and forgets previous slights, either intentionally or because he simply wasn’t smart enough to remember.

Overall, Black Star can be relied on for his positive outlook on things. When he’s not being intentionally angered, he can often be found with a smile on his face and an uplifting word or two for those who need it. He sometimes tends to go as far as hiding his negative feelings so others don’t have to deal with it, using his positive personality to keep everyone upbeat and on the ball.

Sadly, despite being a ninja, being loud and obtrusive is his default status. Many times, he can’t sneak worth a damn because he’s too busy announcing his presence to his foes. He often gets ragged on for this but he makes up for this with pure power, impressing and defeating his foes in giant explosions. Still, he often ignores orders and develops a form of tunnel vision, seeing only himself and the most powerful foe in a fight to the death. This works to his detriment at times, as he fails to see his own weaknesses until they’re shoved in his face and he’s beat down. Ironically, despite his attempts to peep at Tsubaki, his weapon, in the bath, Black Star is shown to be among the least perverted person among the main characters during the time all the characters swapped gender.

Characters Name: Neku Sakuraba
Age: Fifteen years old.
Canon: The World Ends With You
Canon Point: Post-Game.
Species: Human.
Gender: Male.
Orientation: No preference! Neku's still got his training wheels screwed on when it comes to making friends, so it's safe to say that he hasn't given much thought to relationships on a romantic scale. Nothing in the game suggests an orientation -- if anything, he's an equal opportunist when it comes to being prickly and unsociable.

Personality:

"All the world needs is me. I got my values; so you can keep yours, alright?"
- Neku Sakuraba; Week 1, Day 1.

"I just met you. I don’t like you. And I don’t give a rat’s ass if you think I’m rude!"
- Neku Sakuraba; Week 1, Day 2.

"I’m not opening up to anyone. Ever. Other people just hold me back. I can do things my own way."
- Neku Sakuraba; Week 1, Day 2.

In the first part of the game, Neku Sakuraba might as well be synonymous for antisocial asshole

He's blunt to the point of being downright rude, stalks around with a major chip on his shoulder, and seems to view everyone else as nothing but a bunch of useless sheeple who are good for nothing else but forcing their worldview on him and holding him back. The only person he honestly cares about is himself, and that's why the game takes away his memory as his entrance fee. If he doesn't like someone, he doesn't bother with them -- and he doesn't like anyone. In fact, the only reason he initially lets Shiki hang around is because he'd end up Erased without a partner, and he never passes up the chance to remind her that they're bound by necessity and not camaraderie. (A point that he drives home when he almost strangles her early on in their partnership just because a Reaper tricks him into thinking it'll help him win the Game.) When it comes to dealing with people, he's stubborn about keeping them at an arm's length and refusing to let himself open up to them, and Shiki only manages to start cracking his shell via sheer persistence. (aka: She bugs the hell out of him until he can't ignore her.) Slowly, they grow together as partners, and she becomes the first person that we really see him open up to and bond with.

However, the Game is far from done with Neku, even when he and Shiki successfully make it through their week. As it turns out, his new bond with Shiki comes back to bite him in a pretty cruel way – since his newfound bond with her has made him come to care about her more than he cares about himself, she’s seized as his new entry fee. So, second-week!Neku is pretty muddled up about relationships; he opened up to someone, and it ended up biting them both on the ass. A great incentive for growth, right? Despite everything, Neku is determined to play through another week of the game and win, ensuring that he and Shiki both get to be revived together. With that in mind, he ends up getting partnered up with a smart-ass kid who calls himself Joshua, and they’re off for another week of trying to survive. Now, unfortunately for Neku, Joshua is about as grating and obnoxious of a person as anyone will ever hope to meet, and Josh seems delighted to spend most of their week together getting under Neku’s skin. To top things off, the few times Neku has attempted to scan Josh have ended with him getting garbled flashbacks of his own murder, which make him suspicious of Joshua but unwilling to press him for details. After all, if they can’t make it as partners, they’re as good as Erased. However, despite all of Joshua’s teasing and Neku’s tsundere, the two end up forming a pretty strong bond of trust by the end of Neku’s week. After all, Neku’s got no one else to lean on – Shiki was taken as his entry fee, Rhyme was Erased during his first week, and Beat betrayed them all by turning into a Reaper in the hopes of saving Rhyme – so, he ends up coming to trust and depend on Joshua just like a good partner should. His second week during the game teaches him a lot about opening up to people as a whole -- he learns to care about more than just one person, and actually starts developing an interest for the welfare of the other people surrounding him in Shibuya. So, all’s well that ends well, right? … nope, not quite. During the fight against the Game Master of the second week, Joshua ends up sacrificing himself to save Neku’s life – shoving Neku backwards with a smile and reminding him that he’s got other things to fight for, then turning around with his arms outspread to absorb the blow.

… and, surprise! Neku wakes up back in Scramble Crossing for a third time, forced to play the game for a third time. The twist? Due to Neku’s continuously expanding outlook, his new entry fee is all of the other players, which leaves him with no one to form a partner-pact with and absolutely no way to fight off the enemy Noise. However, Beat defects from the Reapers and makes a pact with Neku to help him out, and the two wander through a Shibuya that’s populated by people all wearing red pins that are causing them to all think the same harmonious thoughts. After receiving no missions to guide them, Neku and Beat decide to go to the fabled throne of the Game’s Composer, with Beat declaring that he’ll defeat the Composer, take over the job, and bring everyone (including his little sister) back to life. Neku, worried about his friends and not willing to waste Joshua’s sacrifice, is determined to help Beat achieve this goal, and the two smash their way to the river.

However, once they arrive, the plot twists dramatically, and all of the loose ends begin to come together. A man named Megumi Kitanji introduces himself as the Game’s Conductor, and says that he dispersed the red pins throughout Shibuya in an effort to harmonize the people and thus repair the city’s dying Vibe. If he fails, he’ll lose the game he’s been playing with the Composer, and the Composer will Erase the city as punishment. After Neku and Beat defeat Kitanji, a familiar face appears -- Joshua, who introduces himself as the Composer and applauds Neku for a job well done. See, Neku’s antisocial attitude coupled with his massive amount of unrealized Potential made him the “worst Soul” in Shibuya, and Joshua determined that if a flawed Soul’s like Neku could make it through the Game, then the city was damaged beyond repair – it’d be far better to Erase it and start clean. Joshua returns Neku’s memories of his death in full (showing that Joshua was, in fact, his murderer), and then tosses Neku a gun to challenge him to one final game. If Neku can shoot Joshua before he counts down from three, then Neku will become the next Composer and can do whatever he wants to with the city – if not, Josh kills Neku, and Shibuya is erased. At the beginning of the three weeks, there’s no doubt that Neku would have simply pulled the trigger to save his own skin, Joshua be damned. However, he’s grown throughout his time in the Game, and he can’t simply bring himself to kill a person that he still regards as his Partner – his friend. Despite everything, he still has the strength of soul to trust Joshua, and he ends up being too conflicted to shoot. Finally, he lowers his gun, and Joshua shoots him to win the match.

-- But. The growth that Neku has demonstrated in this final duel seems to be enough for Joshua, who restores Neku and all his friends back to their lives, and leaves the city intact. Neku has proven that even the worst Soul in Shibuya can be changed for the better, and that’s enough to save the city and the lives of everyone within it.

Now that he’s made it through the Game in one piece, Neku’s personality has done plenty to turn around for the better. One of the most prominent changes in his attitude is the way he views people in general – he’s more willing to connect with people and make friends, and he no longer seems stifled by Shibuya and its people. No, he’ll never be a sparkling social butterfly, but he’s not nearly as mopey and hateful as he once was, and that’s already more than anyone probably ever thought was possible. At the end of the game, he’s seen meeting up with Shiki, Beat, and Rhyme – even hoping that Joshua will meet them there – implying that the lessons he learned over the course of the Game have stuck. These people are no longer just partners, annoying necessities that he has to keep around just to survive – they’ve become friends. However, Neku’s only just learning how to deal with people, and there’s no doubt that it’s a slow, painstaking process. He’s spent his whole life trying to shove people away from him, and so learning how to open up and let them get close to him isn’t exactly something that can be learned overnight.

When it comes to socializing, Neku’s still pretty awkward. He’s still pretty terse when it comes to expressing his thoughts, and probably won’t be the most empathetic person hanging around, but it’s out of inexperience and not bitchiness. Said inexperience also means that he’s probably not going to be the first to pick up on subtler signs of people’s moods like body language or tone. Not to say that he’s dumb by any means – Neku’s a sharp kid, and he’ll eventually get the hang of people. Also, he's still got some hang-ups about intimacy in general; he's not entirely comfortable being touched, and it's a lot harder for him to be vulnerable around people that he's not really close with. His three partners from the Game and Mr. H definitely have his trust, but it's going to take a little bit longer before he's ready to be completely open with anyone else. He's also pretty sarcastic and cynical, and he's definitely the voice in the group that's going to take a more realistic approach to things than an optimistic one. Overall, if people are friendly and polite to him, he’ll probably respond pretty positively, but he doesn’t have a lot of tolerance for people who get on his nerves and has little patience for being teased. Become his friend, and he’s loyal almost to a fault, but piss him off? He’ll probably just walk away and tune you out.

"... those few weeks were very hard for me. Learning to trust people; having that trust broken. Finding out the town I pegged as small, and stifling, and empty... wasn’t any of those things."
- Neku Sakuraba; End Game.

"I’m glad I met you guys. You made me... pick up on things, I probably would’ve just gone on ignoring. Trust your partner... and I do."
- Neku Sakuraba; End Game.

( all done! )

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Germany (Federal Republic of Germany)
Age: Physical age is 20. Actual age is unknown, but at least from the Unification of Germany in 1871, which would make him 142.
Canon: Axis Powers Hetalia
Canon Point: Current times.
Species: Country
Gender: Male
Orientation: Bisexual. He's gone out on a date with Italy in the series, so it's very clearly not 100% heterosexual!

History: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany
http://hetalia.kitawiki.net/index.php?title=Germany
Appearance: Here
Personality:
The most noticeable trait Germany has when considering his personality is his seriousness and strict nature. Whether it is cleaning or battlefield situations, Germany takes them all very seriously. He is almost always seen with a scowl on his face and if not that, a neutral expression. It isn't that he is always angry, but it's just his serious nature showing through. Complaining isn't something that is heard with Germany. It grates on his nerves most of the time and would much rather a task be completed silently. He is a perfectionist down to the core, so every task must be done correctly. His strict attitude applies to himself and others, as seen in his multiple training sessions with Italy and Japan. He holds himself to incredibly high standards, constantly training and being on the move in order to keep himself in top condition. Being strict is just something that is natural to him. He has things scheduled down to the smallest detail in order to make the most out of his time and run things in the most efficient way.

Germany has a bit of an issue with mess and disorder. Everything has a place and must be just so for him to feel comfortable. His neat freak nature is apparent in the series in one particular episode where Italy cooks in the kitchen. The entire time he is cooking, Germany is wiping counters constantly to try and clean up. In his songs, he mentions more than once that if someone is going to cook (and dirty the kitchen), they should just not cook at all. Laundry must be folded neatly, even things that he has been wearing and just took off. It all goes back to his desire for a clean, neat environment. Germany also has a habit of reading manuals completely before taking on tasks, just so that he is informed and doesn't make mistakes.

At times, Germany does have a temper. He tries to keep himself composed most of the time and pushes things down that bother him. This is a big issue, though, as it leads to violent outbursts. Many of his headaches and temper issues come from dealing with Italy, who frustrates Germany on so many levels. They are on complete opposite sides of the spectrum, where Germany is neat, orderly, and strict and Italy is messy, lazy, and cowardly. When he has had enough, he usually lashes out at Italy verbally to try and get him to right his behavior. With having so little patience, Germany has had difficulties at world meetings. The other countries fight and talk over one another, irritating Germany. So he lost his temper and yelled at them, setting a schedule for them to follow so that everyone wouldn't be talking over one another.

The words "scary" and "intimidating" have been used to describe Germany in the series by other characters. This is likely due to his stoic appearance and awkward nature. Most of the time, he isn't terribly talkative with others, so he comes across as the strong, silent type. Combine that with the traits mentioned above and he certainly comes across as intimidating. However, Germany isn't so scary at all at his core. He is at a loss when it comes to dealing with other people. He doesn't understand how some people think, nor does he know the appropriate way to respond to them. Most of the misunderstandings he has with others come from the fact that he can't read them and doesn't know how to respond. So instead of saying something strange, Germany will usually just keep quiet and stew in the awkwardness.

Making friends isn't something that comes to Germany easily. With the traits mentioned above, most people are wary about approaching him. Also, it takes a while before Germany would consider trusting anyone. That isn't saying that he doesn't want friends, though. Behind that tough, serious exterior, he really wants someone who understands him. When he does make a friend, he is incredibly loyal to them. He goes out of his way to help them, even if it means putting himself into danger. Germany seems to always come to the aid of Italy, despite being called on countless times for both serious and frivolous issues. His loyalty stretches far beyond what the average person's would, going as far as to refuse giving his enemies information about his allies and their situation, despite facing the threat of torture.

Germany certainly isn't afraid of hard work. Everything is some kind of training to him, including the strict schedules he makes for himself. He goes through different kinds of physical training, ranging from running laps to lifting weights. He would rather be prepared for any situation that might come up than not prepared. He isn't completely about work and schedules, however. He knows the importance of having down time and regularly takes time out to go drinking with his brother. In fact, drinking beer is one of his favorite things to do in his spare time, along with eat wurst. It's just a matter of balancing the down time with all of the other things he has scheduled.

Abilities: Does the ability to understand/deal with Italy count? Other than being able to withstand more damage as a country and having the fast healing, I don't think there are any special abilities.

History: The story happens in the crime-riddled streets of Ergastulum, a city that was founded after the War of Unification. Originally it was meant as a quarantine area for Celebre users from the war, later on known as Twilights. Celebre is a drug that gave their users superhuman strength and resistance, therefore seemingly creating the "perfect" soldiers for the war, but the descendants of the original users showed to possess the same enhanced traits, except in order to live, they depended on the Celebre drug. Now years later, Ergastulum is inhabited not only by Twilights, also known as Tagged (because their targeting, identification and subsequent tagging - they are literally given dog tags that serve mostly as a warning to normal people - is mandatory), but also criminals and refugees from various countries. Ergastulum is part of a larger country, but the main governing forces within the city's limits are the local mafia families, Corsica, Cristiano and Monroe, and the Paulklee guild.

As the story begins, Alex works the streets as a prostitute, for a small-time criminal, her pimp named Barry, who, in order to keep her obedient and controlled, drugged her on a regular basis. Alex is soon caught in the middle of a hit job - the Benriya (literally translated 'Jack of all trades'), two men known as Worick Arcangelo and Nicolas Brown, the latter being a Twilight himself, are hired by the police inspector Chad Adkins to kill Barry and erase his entire organization. Nicolas offers to kill Alex himself, since she was considered part of Barry's small gang, but Worick sees no point in killing her, and even with the inspector's expressed disagreement, Worick claims she's part of the Benriya loot, and would be working for them as a secretary from then on. Knowing how useful the two men are as his means to keep the city under relative control, Chad complains but doesn't actively oppose their decision.

With that, she starts living temporarily with Worick and Nicolas, while she tries to get her life back under her control. Unfortunately, as she is no longer under the effect of the drug Barry used on her, she starts having panic attacks, and ends up having to take tranquilizing drugs prescribed by a doctor trusted by the Benriya, Dr. Theo, who is also the one who gets Nicolas the drugs he needs.

Another side effect of the overuse of the controlling drug was memory loss, and only after some time without being under its effect has she began to recover memories that she had thought lost, amongst them the memories of her brother.

Appearance: Here
Alex is a 24 year-old girl, 167cm/5'6" tall and dark skinned, blue eyed and with long straight black hair. She is very pretty and physically attractive, and has an excellent posture. She usually wears simple dresses and always the same pair of black low heel shoes.

Personality: At first, Alex is shown as a quiet and modest girl, though when Worick and Nicolas take her in, she quickly shows that, despite being soft-spoken and discreet, she is honest and straightforward. She keeps mostly to herself, but when she says something she does mean it, and doesn't hesitate to voice her opinions and defend things and people she cares for and believes in.

She is a very kind and caring person, shown to be affectionate towards the ones she comes to care about, and compassionate upon facing any situation. She thinks herself mostly a burden to Worick and Nicolas, and as such does whatever she can to make up for the fact that she gets in their way, keeping their place clean and cooking for them, answering phone calls with jobs whenever they're not around. She's a hard worker, and always tries to be helpful and prove herself useful in any way.

She remains humble but is very curious, though in a passive way. She doesn't approach others aggressively, but tries to know more about them without making them uncomfortable. For instance, she decides to learn sign language so she can communicate with Nicolas, who is deaf, but at the same time she keeps her distance from him because she's aware he's not comfortable and dislikes being near her - though at first she's also unsure of him, and a little hesitant due to his rough and unstable attitude.

In spite of being a quiet and respectful person, she is honest and always speaks her mind, especially when it comes to clearing up misunderstandings, as it happens when Nina went to their place and thought she was one of Worick's clients. She shows to be considerate of everyone, and a fair and just person. She is tolerant and unprejudiced, which in a place like Ergastulum is saying a lot, especially when it comes to normal people, who by norm fear and hate the Twilights.

Still, Alex is very unsure of who she is or what to do with her own life. Now no longer being controlled through a drug, she experiences panic attacks on occasion, paired with unpleasant hallucinations, though she's taking medication to control them. Even so, she still shows to be anxious, and on occasion fears for her own life, and what these side effects might mean in the future, as she starts remembering things she had forgotten due to the prolonged use of drug. She struggles, more internally than anything else, but slowly tries to take control of her own life again.

It's a show of strength how, after so long under the influence of a man who drugged her to keep her quiet and obedient, she manages to recover her own identity. She might not remember all of who she is, but she is righteous and honest, a proof of how even in the worst kind of place and the worst type of circumstances, one can still strive to be the best they can. Through whatever the future and the dangerous city brings, she remains optimistic, and has hope that in the end they'll find a way to work things out, even if realistically she knows what kind of path or destination might be ahead of them.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Karkat Vantas
Age: 7.4 Alternian Solar Sweeps (16 earth years)
Canon: MSPaint Adventures - Homestuck
Canon Point: Recent canon as of this point. Basically, the three years on the meteor are over, and Jade has JUST space-zapped him and company onto Jake English's game planet, the Land of Mounds and Xenon, where John has been waiting for them.
Species: Alternian Troll
Gender: Male
Orientation: Palesexual bisexual as per the troll norm. Gender doesn't matter for reproduction in their species, and he has canonically held interest in both male and female characters.

History: His MSPA wikia entry.
Appearance: In canon, he looks kinda like this, but in Holly Heights he looks kinda like this.
Personality: Karkat is almost constantly angry and judgmental. He even insults the people he is closest to, probably more than he would a stranger. A lot of his personality can be summed up as ‘crabby’, because of this. From his first appearance in the comic, it’s obvious that he makes a big deal out of everything and has a short temper on top of an already ornery disposition. He only smiles once throughout the entire comic so far, and that was only after a poignant scene that could have ended in his own death, but instead ended in a new relationship. It’s safe to say he reserves his smiles only for critical moments like this. As far as explaining why he’s such an angry kid, just take a look at the race he’s a part of. Trolls are a violent, bloodthirsty species who believe in survival of the fittest to the extreme. The weak are killed off; the strong live to fight another day. Karkat’s anger is likely conditioned to step away from that ‘weak’ label, because the louder you are, the more people fear you, right? And because of his mutant blood color (trolls have varying blood colors, and with them a tiered caste system. Red is the lowest and rarest, because it is considered a mutation), he has all the more reason to appear threatening and strong. It’s self-defense, carrying over to his every day interaction with everyone he knows. He also hates seeing other people having fun, probably because he has little interest in what other people consider fun, and has to antagonize them for it.

Karkat likes to compete and come out on top. At the start of the troll’s session of the SGRUB game, he usurps the role of Red Team leader from Terezi Pyrope, pitting him against Sollux Captor, who at first led the Blue Team. He and Sollux have a history of competition, particularly with insult wars and hacking (Sollux is the superior hacker, hands down). Through all their bickering, the two are somehow still friends. A pair of friendly rivals is probably a better description, because they still fight and Karkat still wants to rub a win in his face. When Sollux tells him to stop playing the game, Karkat takes his warning as an attempt to cheat a win, and this only eggs Karkat to keep playing the game with gusto. Like he’s wearing blinders, all he sees ahead of him is the eventual win to hold over Sollux’s head. He’s stupid in the sense that he views advice as a trick, and he believes everyone to be as into the competition as he is. Later in the game, he is seen as ruthless and ambitious, quickly developing a plan to take down the King and Queen with the help of a new ally, the troll session’s incarnation of Jack Noir. He also killed the Denizen (boss) of his medium (his own little game planet) without any hesitation (we later discover this was probably a bad idea, as these giant creatures had an important part in each character’s own quest within the game. For example, Jade spoke with hers and was given important choices to make.) Being reckless, stubborn, and competitive makes him a somewhat successful leader in the end. All of the trolls managed to survive their session, anyway. He does have trouble with subtlety, though, so his strengths lie in creating a plan and yelling at everyone until they follow it.

His obvious aggressive character traits aside, he also actually cares deeply for those close to him. Karkat sheds actual tears when Sollux dies for the first time, in front of Jack Noir and a distracted Gamzee, even. He even goes so far as to attempt to revive Kanaya Maryam with a kiss after her apparent death, also while crying. It takes something as drastic as the death of a friend to make him cry, but obviously it’s not entirely beyond him to do so. This is a big deal, because trolls cry the same color as their blood, which means if someone were to see his tears, they would instantly know that he’s a weird mutant. So, yes, he will try to force back these tears unless he absolutely cannot handle it anymore. On the topic of his blood color, it’s not something he’s proud of. He won’t talk about it and he definitely doesn’t wear the color in his everyday wardrobe like the rest of the trolls are fond of doing. Even his gray text is (what he used to think was) a clever disguise to throw people off of his case, making him the only troll who doesn’t type in his blood color. When Terezi hounds him about it, he clams up and changes the subject quickly. Later, after a private off-screen meeting the two have, Terezi seems to have learned Karkat’s blood color, but he makes her promise not to tell the others. He says he will tell them eventually, but only when he knows they respect him as a leader. Thus far, he still hasn’t told anyone. When he and Jack Noir first met, the carapace stabbed Karkat (in a way Karkat describes as his way of saying “hello”, a little naively perhaps) and the troll tried to hide it on instinct. The two soon bonded though, when Jack revealed that his blood was the same color. Karkat can easily sympathize with those who share his blood color, and finding out humans all have this same mutant color still surprises him. Later, he mellows out and stops trying to hide his blood color as much, because Alternia is essentially destroyed and none of his friends seem to care either way. He even has a conversation with himself from the future via the chat interface using the bright red color he used to despise.

Possibly another way Karkat relates to humans is that he is not at all as bloodthirsty as the rest of the troll race. He talks a big game, threatens violent murder with the best of them, but that’s all behind those CAPITAL LETTERS and his shroud of intelligent vulgarity. When he’s behind a computer screen, he’s big and bad, a hatched leader made out to become a threshecutioner one day. This all changes when he’s right in the middle of the action, when his friends start killing each other and he is too dumbstruck to do anything about it but stare like a dumbass. When Kanaya cuts off Tavros’ legs, Karkat literally faints at the sight of the gore. He doesn’t handle intense situations well in person and will often lock up or panic. This goes back to him caring too much, tacked on with the reason he cries when his friends die. He hates this weakness, along with other attributes of himself he loathes and despises. His failures are things he is very aware of and will openly admit to when they aren’t a point of pride. Some things take longer for him to admit than others, but in general he is very open about finding reasons to hate himself.

As much as he’d loathe admitting it, Karkat relates well to people and is a font of personal advice for some of his awkward needier friends. He loves horrible romance movies and isn’t ashamed of it, so naturally he’s picked up a few things from watching the movies he favors. This doesn’t necessarily make his outlook on romance a healthy or correct one because movies only emulate so much of a relationship before they are considered superficial and fake, but thanks to his surprisingly stable mental condition he has a decent understanding of emotions and how one should balance them. He believes showing many kinds of pity is the best way to have the capacity to hate. Pity and hate, by the way, happen to be the strongest two emotions trolls experience, and thus are the basis for the ideology of troll romance. If he feels another person’s problems are within his power to help, he’ll even cease with the insults and try to understand the problem on the level of the other person. He can’t make people follow his advice, but he can sure as hell thrust it at them until they get the picture and either (a) try it out, or (b) leave him alone. As soon as he’s done trying to be Troll Dr. Phil, he’s quick to switch back to being prickly and insulting. With as much as he understands the delicate balance of pity and hate and how romance is technically supposed to work, he sucks spectacularly at it.

So basically, Karkat is primarily a grouchy douchebag who likes to fling obscenities at suspecting and unsuspecting faces. He’s headstrong and ambitious, but kind of a screw-up when it boils down to it. In blind rage or desire to beat someone, he can do really reckless things. It’s easy to get his blood boiling and he hates being teased, that will set him off quicker than anything. Still, he’s a good guy with a lot of heart and a desire to safely corral all of his idiot friends for their own good. His demands might be stupid or harsh at times, but he really does mean well. The last thing he wants is for his friends to die or kill each other. He can’t keep up his façade of giving no damns all the time, especially when he lets his emotions shine through his jerk exterior like a beacon of how much he cares.
Abilities: Karkat is a self-proclaimed expert on relationships and the ilk, likes to give advice and takes heart to heart matters seriously. His role is the Knight of Blood, which means he "protects" (Knight) "bonds" (blood). He builds alliances with people to obtain a goal. Seriously, that's his power. He is a lethal weapon with a pair of sickles and has experienced quite an adventure. Other than that, he has an impressive vocabulary and a mediocre at best skill at computer programming. Useful stuff.

Third Person: The light seasons for this world were somewhat enjoyable, Karkat could admit. Couples walked along by, chitchatting about some new occasion or another, all the while the sun shined on. Never before could he say that the sun felt comforting.

The bench he was sitting on was comfortable, though sturdy. He took up as much as possible to prevent anyone getting any bright ideas like sitting beside him while he enjoyed a day outside. For once, he wasn't screaming, wasn't being anal about something someone didn't do just right, didn't have to be the leader for just one day. He could enjoy the break, right?

Karkat learned the hard way that you can't trust the weather in Spring. He learned this when it started raining and he didn't have an umbrella. He was now soaked and pissy.

"...of fucking course this would happen."

Characters Name: Kaede Kaburagi

Canon: Tiger & Bunny
Canon Point: After the timeskip in Episode 25.
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Orientation: N/A

History: (1) Wikipedia; (2) Tiger & Bunny Wikia.

Kaede is the first and only child born to Kotetsu T. and Tomoe Kaburagi. Tomoe passed away from an unknown illness when Kaede was four years old, and she stayed in her hometown of Oriental Town with her grandmother and uncle while Kotetsu continued working as the Hero, Wild Tiger, in Sternbild City. His absence in her life, as well as his failings to deliver on promises from time to time, cause Kaede constant disappointment in her life as she grows up, blaming it on what she believed was his normal job.

There comes a time several months later when Kaede's NEXT powers activate while Kotetsu's decline, and he promises to come back home once he retires so he can be with her. He breaks the promise, which does disappoint & frustrate her once again, but when Kotetsu is falsely accused of murder, Kaede leaves Oriental Town to head to Sternbild by herself and help her father prove his innocence, which she succeeds at. She returns home with father in tow, but convinces him to go back to being a Hero a year later.

Appearance: Here you go!

Personality: It is important to remember that Kaede is a child first and foremost. She may come across as very mature and composed, but she is still a kid. She can be very energetic and friendly, and she is active, as well. The second episode of the series places the audience at an ice skating arena in Sternbild City, where she is a participant in a competition and eagerly calling her father, Kotetsu, to come and see her perform. (However, her doubts about him making it are shattered when his job calls upon him once again, leaving her disappointed.) She is also aware of the latest trends and the must-have items, as any preteen would be. She is quite the fan of Barnaby, who, unbeknownst to her, is her father's partner. (Barnaby saved her from some falling debris in the second episode, when the competition is unexpectedly cancelled due to a rogue NEXT wreaking havoc to the arena.)

Kaede, being only eleven years old, does have a temper and is quick to say blunt, hurtful statements to those around her, especially her dad. She does not tolerate excuses, and even calls her grandmother out when her grandmother tries to dumb down how disappointed Kaede is to Kotetsu. Throughout the series, Kaede expresses her disappointment & frustration to Kotetsu because of his numerous broken promises due to his job. She is unaware that he is a Hero, and thus thinks he has a normal but overdemanding job that keeps them apart. Kotetsu, as a result of his demanding job being a Hero, inadvertently tends to treat her as a child of younger years than she actually is, and she quickly sets him in his place to not do that. The general relationship between Kaede & Kotetsu is shaky — he is always having to apologize and come up with some excuse to one more broken promise, and she brushes him off, letting him know that her expectations when it comes to him delivering on his words is low.

Kotetsu does not realize until a visit that he (finally) makes to Oriental Town — his hometown — that she wants them to be together and she is afraid of being left alone. She has been with her grandmother since she was four when her mother, Tomoe, passed away, and Kotetsu placed Kaede in his mother's care while he was a Hero in Sternbild City. During his visit, his mother hurts her back, and Kaede is so distraught over it being worse than it is that she explodes on him when he chides her for not heading to school already. Her grandmother's fall affects her so much that she cannot focus on her lessons at school, and immediately after school ends she heads to the local shrine to say a prayer for her grandmother. Ironically enough, she becomes trapped in the shrine when a storm hits and causes several trees to block the doors, and she is saved by Kotetsu moments before the shrine collapses. This strengthens the bond between them, and it also finalizes Kotetsu's decision to retire as a Hero (due to his declining NEXT powers) and come back to Oriental Town. Unfortunately, he breaks the promise due to new information unraveling his partner, Barnaby, but Kaede thinks he does not want to leave his job for her. This broken promise is worsened by the fact that Kaede's NEXT powers manifest themselves as he is leaving Oriental Town, and phone calls made to his mother later on reveal that Kaede, not being able to properly control her powers, is inadvertently destroying the Kaburagi home (breaking the dining room table, destroying the television, bending numerous cutlery into indistinguishable shapes) and he cannot be there to help her.

Even though they butt heads constantly, two of Kotetsu's biggest qualities (which can also be seen as flaws) are reflected in Kaede. Kaede shares her father's desire to help others out, including her father when he is falsely accused of murder. She realizes that just because he may not keep promises and he disappoints her numerous times, he would never do such a thing. So intense is her belief that the second biggest quality she shares with her father exhibits itself: she acts before she thinks. Without telling her grandmother or uncle, she leaves Oriental Town and arrives at Sternbild City, ready to help her father declare his innocence. It is only when she gets to Sternbild City that she realizes she does not have a concrete plan to help her father out. That belief still burns inside her when she comes across Kotetsu surrounded by the other Heroes (brainwashed by the antagonist who also set up Kotetsu as the murderer), and ignores the Heroes' concerns for her about moving away from Kotetsu and her statements about him being innocent.

But, as soon as Kotetsu's name is cleared, Kaede turns on the tough love and demands that he tell her why he hid the fact that he was a Hero for six years from her. His response is that he did not want her to worry, but it does cause her worry, because she does not know what he is doing, what it entails, and if she will ever see him again, thus bouncing off of her fear of losing more family members once more. This fear shows up once more during the final battle, when Barnaby and she believe Kotetsu to be dead due to too many injuries sustained in his fight. (He simply passed out from the pain.)

On the other hand, Kaede has shown that she can be mature and level-headed in the best and the worst of situations. When she and the other Heroes are captured by the same antagonist who set Kotetsu up, she concentrates on freeing herself from her bonds using her NEXT powers, instead of letting her NEXT powers overtake her from emotion. Once she is free, she takes down her captors and frees the Heroes in the process. After the antagonist is taken down, Kotetsu finally announces his retirement from being a Hero, and returns to Oriental Town with Kaede. A year later, he is back in Sternbild City, and he explains that she convinced him to go back to being a Hero. (She thought his laying around the house all the time was making him a "really lame dad.") She realizes that being a Hero made her father happy, and because she now knows what his job is, she wants him to do what he can with the last of his powers. This would be a reflection of the late Tomoe, who pushed Kotetsu to continue being a Hero while she was in the hospital suffering from an illness. (After her passing, he fought through his grief and continued to be a Hero.)

Kaede wants what is best for her and for her family, and even though she may lash out against them from time to time, she loves them, and she knows they love her, too. She wants to enjoy the time she has with them and not let it be riddled with mistrust and lies. She may be blunt, but she does not do it intentionally, but as a way for those around her to see that she is hurt when they do or say things they do not mean. Family is still family in the end, and that is what she aspires to have at the end of the day.

Abilities: Kaede has the ability to duplicate the powers of anyone she touches, or who touches her. For example, if her father (Kotetsu T. Kaburagi) were to touch her shoulder, she would gain his Hundred Power ability. But, the next person she touches, or who touches her — Yuri Petrov, for example — will overwrite the Hundred Power to now be their power instead (Fire Manipulation, in Yuri's case). However, regardless of the power, she does not have much control over a copied power, and to make the copied power work for her in a specific way takes much concentration and focus on her end.

Outside of her NEXT powers, Kaede is still a growing preteen who is young enough to learn and excel at anything she puts her mind to. She is shown to have above average athletic skills reflected in her interest of figure skating, and participating in a figure skating tournament. This would allow her to not only be more flexible, but also have faster reflexes.

[ She wrinkles her nose as a look of annoyance crosses her features. ] What kind of place lets you connect to one network and nothing else? Sigh, whatever... But anyway, I wanted to get this thing working to ask someone if they know of my dad and if he is here? I saw his name listed in my cell phone along with a bunch of other people I don't recognize, so I just want to make sure it's actually him and not some sort of imposter. My name is Kaede, and my dad is Kotetsu. He is tall, lanky, and likes to wear a cream & black hat.

[ She becomes quiet and flips through the phone again quickly, raising her eyebrow this time as she continues speaking. ] And Mr. Barnaby? Maybe?? It would be weird if both of them are here and not in Sternbild... I wonder if any of the other Heroes are here, too...

Hm, I guess I should try to reach my "new family" and find out who they are. This entire thing is weird...

morgan ♂ | fire emblem: awakening | reserved 2/4

[personal profile] tacticianed 2013-06-01 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
Personality: Morgan can be seen as a foil to most of the second generation characters (the children) in the series. He's shown to be upbeat, playful, and brings a comedic effect after waves of rather depressing backstories from a dark future. Morgan is strongly suggested (if not outright) to be from a different timeline from any of the other characters. This makes him unique, but at the same time since he suffers from amnesia, it's hard to know how much his timeline affected how he's become the young man he is. Still, Morgan is shown to have a solid, well described personality throughout the game which makes him one of the most endearing, optimistic characters in the game. Yet that doesn't mean Morgan has never suffered, as he mentions to have lost his mother in his timeline and never wants to lose her again. He doesn't let the sad, hard, and even depressing events get to him and keep him down. Yet sometimes they do, and even his happy, childlike attitude is overshadowed. He's not the type to mope around, but improve himself and the situation. He keeps fighting and supporting his allies. In his support conversations, he's very willing to help out other people and learn from them, too. He admires people who are skilled and talented at fighting, too. He also seems to appreciate cooking, as in Severa's support conversations. He does hold some sentimental value, believing love, kindness, and heart affect how one fights and cooks. He's also big on making a difference and restoring peace through action (as seen in his support conversation with Nah). He's also a part of the Justice Cabal who strive to basically promote heroic acts and be cuties.

This can be seen in his support conversations with his father, as he tries really hard (literally hard as he's so desperate he bangs his head against a wall) to remember even the tiniest thing about his father. Still, he doesn't give up, eventually remembering a tiny memory about his father. Just that tiny memory alone brings him a great amount of joy, and he's content that he now remembers something about his own father. It's also important to note, initially if Morgna's father is not Chrom If Morgan has siblings, it's also shown he is has a fondness for them and cares for them. As male Morgan can only have Lucina as a sibling, in their support conversation shows that he rather pretend not to be skilled with the Falchion so he can give Lucina a determination to stay alive and be with him. Lucina also describes Morgan as a little brother as someone she watched after and took care of. So TL;DR: he is a cute little brother who wants his sister to be happy (if he has one). Once again proving while he may only remember his mother, he comes to care deeply in game for those who are his family, even if he can't remember them initially. Family is dear to him and he tries to be a good brother and son.

Since he has amnesia, Morgan seems to only remember his mother -- the most important person to him. He can easily be described as a momma's boy, always talking highly of his mother and following in her footsteps to say the least (sometimes literally). Most of his game dialog mentions his mother outright or alludes to his mother. His mother has inspired Morgan to become the young man who he is today. His dialog in game tell us that he reads battle tactics like his mother, studying them (or tries too), showing a great passion for tactics. He knows he's not as a good as his mother, but he'd like to be and that's why he is trying so hard. He's very eager to learn from his mother, asking her to share tips and explain to him how she figured his plots out. He has even tried to see if his battle tactics and sneaky plots work on his mother, but she always seems one step ahead of him. Their relationship is very good to say the least, and Morgan seems to be the ideal son who wants to carry on his mother's legacy. Morgan is also trying to impress his mother and get her attention (“How could you steal from me? I was going to buy more books, and... and... And knock Mother's socks off when she saw how much I'd learned! How dare you interfere with my ploys to get attention!”). He knows his mother is very busy, but at the same time he wants to spend time with her. He can be hard on himself, though, as he mentions repeatedly he is not as skilled as his mother ("I think my brain is melting... I'll never be a master tactician at this rate!"), he still tries anyway.

Morgan can be a little strange at first before he gets to know someone as well. He is friendly, though, and doesn't seem to be shy about getting to know others. When he finds someone as a problem, he genuinely does want to help them. This can be seen in his support conversation with Noire and how he attempts to deal with her phobia of bugs. On another note, he enjoys collecting insects and bugs, but he seems to loath cockroaches. There is a childlike innocence to Morgan, which makes him such a lighthearted, uplifting character as mentioned before. If he does make a mistake, he tries his best to correct it and is sincere in his apologies. When it comes to romance, he can be shy about his true, romantic feelings about a person. He also comes to really accept who the person is, not wanting them to change who they are in the end (as seen in Noire's and Cynthia's support conversation). In other cases, depending on who he ends up falling in love with, he can appear almost calm and very collected about it. This can be seen in Lucina's support conversation if they are not siblings. As she confesses to him, he remains calm, easily accepting the notion of marriage without a second thought. Overall he's very supportive as a friend, son, and a lover. He'll do what he can to help his close friends, even suffering through a little pain or committing a white lie, in order to do what he feels needs to be done or should be done.

History:

Symposium Profile
Appearance:
Here
Personality:
Miko is a natural born leader, she is both social and observant. She has a way of relating that is relaxing and easy going, coming across as very casual and with a good sense of humor. She likes to joke quite a bit and may seem like the sort who isn't ever serious, though she is perfectly capable of being so. When she is serious she strikes quite the presence, not so much an intimidating force, but rather awe inspiring. She is very much the Prince Regent she used to be, and that royal and political aura hasn't left her.

Even though Miko is now a hermit she is a rather bad one when you consider the conduct of a hermit. Though she has tried to live away from the world and has chosen a path that most hermits pursue, she still can't leave her secular life. She easily becomes involved in the affairs of communities. Despite the fact she is not particularly interested in ruling, she is quick to offer herself to take over administrations of things she feels are falling flat. For example, she was willing to take over the Human Village in Gensokyo to guide the humans as their leader when she saw they lacked one. In the end she learned the system in which they were running was good for them, so she didn't go through with it. But her quick decision to do it in the first place says a lot.

She is the type who would say "If there are no volunteers I'll do it until someone qualified comes along". But really in the end she would turn it into her own thing before relinquishing it. That is not to say her intentions aren't good, she does wish to help people and improve their lives. But she has a very large ego and tends to operate under the assumption she is the most correct. The fact that she generally always gets what she wants doesn't help this. But since her previous life was that of the Crown Prince and thus to be the next Emperor of Japan it's the only life she knows.

Miko is also very ambitious, her reasons for becoming a Shikaisen was due to the desire for immortality, and then she aspired to become a god. (She nearly got there, but in the end she is only a Saint.) Her plan was to resurrect and bring a new golden age to all of Japan under her rule, though currently she has put that plan on hold.

Despite Miko's large sense of self importance, and high ambitions she is a good person. Her reasons for action are generally for the good of the people (or Humans at the very least), and though many of the things she does can be called selfish, she does them with a selflessness in mind. (They are selfish by the fact they gain her attention and admiration which she enjoys. They are selfless in that the attention she gains isn't her sole reason for going forward.) She truly does wish for the improvement of others, and for working order and the health of the people. But one can say both things feed into each other and either way she gains.

However, she is very much a "for the good of the many" type of person. If people need to be sacrificed for the good of the whole, she will do it. She will manipulate the system and people to get everything just right, and sees nothing wrong with it. After all, it is for the greater good. Of course she believes that her own opinions and thoughts on the matter are also what is best for everyone.

As expected of a politician she is very charismatic and easy to get along with, she doesn't so much coerce people as they get swept up in her personality and become her followers. She is like a magnet that pulls people to her without even trying.

Abilities:
-The ability to hear 10 people at the same time and hold 10 conversations at the same time.
-The ability to infer a persons desires through their actions. (She can "hear" desires.)
-The ability to gain strength through absorbing desires.
-The ability to attract divine spirits.
-The ability to fly.
-Spell Cards. (Danmaku bullets made of magic.)
-She is immortal and will never age.
-The ability to strike awe in those around her.
-Taoist magic
-General Super Human skills that are ill defined but made her legendary in her life.

Other: The awe she radiates is due to personality, and her ability to hold 10 conversations is less supernatural and more to do with she's a genius and just that amazing.

[Miko was sitting in a chair, the camera pointed at her from a low angle to make her seem higher up than she was. Lacking her shaku, for some strange reason, she had instead found a folding fan in the house to use instead. She held it in her left hand idly.]

From what I understand this land is known as Holly Heights, yes?

[She smiled down at the camera pleasantly. She seemed rather relaxed for just arriving.]

Quite the interesting place. I can't speak much for the method though. A contract I don't remember signing, it's a bit suspicious isn't it?

[She gave a light laugh as if she were telling a joke.]

Well, there is little we can do about that at the moment, so lets move on.

[She raised the fan up to cover her mouth as if thinking.]

I am Toyosatomimi no Miko, and I would be more than glad to meet others here, whom like myself have found themselves mysteriously transported into such an arrangement. As well as learn more about this town. Is this "Lessor" the only one in charge? How do they govern, what are their methods?

Third Person:
It wasn't that she wasn't surprised to wake up somewhere unfamiliar, she was, but she did not let it get to her. Someone else might panic, feel scared, or desperately try and figure out the situation quickly and lead themselves to error. Miko however considered her situation carefully. It didn't take much to notice the deed and the key and the card, a little reading she more or less had the basics to work with without too much effort. It was rather troubling, but there wasn't much she could do at the moment.

However what did bother her the most was that she could not hear as well as she should have been able to. She could not hear the desires around her, she could not hear the distant voices. It made understanding the place harder, or at least more time consuming. On further consideration it seemed she was without any ability, both those she had been born with and those she had gained through training.

Her expression frowned. She had worked hard to get her shikaisen powers, she liked them quite a lot. But it was just insulting to take away what was hers through birthright. This landlord would be dealt with, though in time. She could wait when it was needed, and acting rashly at the beginning had more potential to harm her than benefit her.

"I suppose I should see who it is that is currently living here," first order of business, meet the people in the house, if there were any. After that? Well it would depend on how the first part went.

Without further ado she opened the front door to see what was inside.

❝ I don't like illness. Because it kept me from going outside. Because it made no one love me. ❞

The first thing that one might notice about Ellen, were she to appear in her own body, is how frail she is. She’s suffered from a disease from a young age and been in a constant state of pain (one high enough that she is able to gouge out her eyes and cut off her legs without flinching,) and also one that prevented her from living any semblance of a normal life. From a young age she was unable to go outside and play with other children, whom had no interest in a sickly girl, and to make matters worse her parents didn’t love her. Over time her lack of companionship and her parent’s neglect and abuse caused her to begin to perceive her sickness as the reason that she was unloved. She hated her sickness.

Her experiences have left her cold and cynical, capable of killing her parents and countless others in order to further her own gain. She went so far as to contract with a demon and become a witch at the age of seven in order to get a spell to cure her sickness. Her views on friendship twisted, her morals warped as a natural consequence of being in a constant state of pain on top of being put in a position to kill people from such a young age. She refers to the people who enter her house and, yes, even Viola, as her “friends.” She lets them be eaten the house; mutilates them using everything from cutting off their hands to dropping them into a spike pit. She’s grown desensitized while remaining sheltered from the true horror of death, as she’s never had to lose anyone important to her (even her parents she likely loved and hated all at once, enough to kill them) while living with the consequences.

❝ My sickness was going to kill me. So...I took her body from her. I lived on in her body. That's fine, right? Because we're "friends." She gave me her body...because we're "friends." ❞

Ellen likely resents those around her; her parents and “friends” for not loving her, herself sickness for keeping her from going outside and likely even her only friend, Viola. Her relationship with Viola is perhaps one of the most complicated of her relationships, second to only that of the one that she shared with her parents. She describes Viola as being her dear friend, kind charming and loved. Throughout her diaries she explains how she came to befriend Viola, making her a “friend” instead of Xing her because she saved Ellen from her sickness. At the same time, she seems to resent Viola, who is everything that she is not, most likely stemming from the jealousy and frustration of living as she had (and perhaps, even feeling condescended to.) She describes her as naive. She gives her a throat-burning medicine to keep from having to hear her own screams, cuts off her legs and tears out her eyes in order to see Viola despair as she died.

Although her cruelty towards her dear “friend,” while excessive, is purposeful. At the start of the house, it seems that Ellen had merely planned on searching for a spell to cure her sickness. That was what she had expected when she began to “feed” people to the demon she had contracted with. It is unknown exactly when she was given a spell to trade bodies, but it is reasonable to think that it was likely a short time before before or after meeting Viola. Everything that she does is purposeful. Rather than being a matter of simple cruelty (although she has no qualms with being cruel ,) every death in her house has a reason. The witch’s house is described as being purposeful. If any souls within it are not eaten by the house, it’s purpose has not been fulfilled. Effectively, Viola’s death was necessary not only to ensure that she wouldn’t come chasing after Ellen, but in order to fulfill the terms of her contract with the demon/the house’s purpose. It was planned from the start and certainly, in her own mind, she had no reason to feel bad for something she had planned from the start.

❝ So then, I suppose you're worried about what'll happen when you're gone? It'll be just fine. I'll give him Viola's share of love. And I'll take her share of love, too. ❞

But beneath it all, she’s still a thirteen-year-old girl who was abused by her parents, without any friends and herself manipulated for a minimum of six years in order to kill countless others in order to aid her own survival. Ellen has never been loved, but it’s something she’s sought after for all of her life. The entire theme of the game, even the ending, is an extension of her quest to be loved. Likewise, she wants somebody who she can give her love to, something that she attains from stealing Viola’s body (through her relationship with Viola’s father, whom Viola was close to.) More than that, it’s likely that she wanted somebody to love her in spite of her sickness (rather than pitying her or disliking her,) but her treatment from a young age has taught her that such a thing is impossible.

She seems to be a bit naive underneath it all, although in a different way from Viola. She’s led a sheltered life, first underneath her parents and then later within the confines of her own house. It has likely allowed her to see the best and worst of those who stumble him, of which there are implied to be many, but at the same time being trapped in a house for all of her life has prevented her from gaining any real semblance of life experience. She has an incomplete understanding of friendship, sickness and neglect. She seems to understand the general idea of it, recognize the concept, but doesn’t have the right word for it, nor the means of differentiating it. For example, as said before, rather than seeing her parents as neglectful and abusive, she simply blamed her sickness.

Abilities: None! She's just a normal human girl now.
Other: I apped her under the name "Viola" before, but I'm not sure if I should keep that or switch to Ellen? The game treats her as Viola, but she was born as Ellen, and different games seem to have different policies on how to treat that. So if you wouldn't mind clearing that up, I'd really appreciate it! Sorry to be a pain, haha.

History: The wikipedia link above contains a pretty good overview of the series, although there are only short blurbs for each character. Maruko is a pretty minor character in the series and she doesn't have much relevant history to speak of. An extremely advanced, human-like robot living in post-apocalyptic Japan, Maruko left her original "owner" many years ago to strike out on her own. In a show of independence, she even chooses her own last name instead of taking her owner's, an act that is highly unusual for robots. She works at several jobs over the years while she works towards her dream of making a living as a painter. She meets and becomes friends with Kokone, one of the main characters, one day when Kokone delivers a message to her. They continue to hang out off and on for the next several years, with Maruko being pretty obviously attracted to Kokone the entire time. She becomes very jealous of Alpha, the main character of the series and the woman Kokone herself likes, and is initially hostile to her when they finally meet. Once Alpha stands up for herself and calls Maruko out on her behavior, however, she begrudgingly starts to respect her and before long they develop a good friendship, although Maruko is still playfully competitive towards her.

Appearance: Here she is looking cute. Maruko is pretty boyish most of the time, but she cleans up nice if she can ever be bothered to give a shit.

Personality: Upon first meeting someone, Maruko usually comes across as a relaxed, happy slacker. She's friendly and outgoing a lot of the time, bright and cheerful and almost always willing to make friends. She's a little lazy and kind of a slouch, but when she's in a good mood she's really easy-going and fun to be around. Kind of a physical person, she's totally comfortable with getting in someone's personal bubble to throw an arm around their shoulder or grab their hand to lead them somewhere. She can also be bold and flirty- with men and women. Not all the time, mind you, but let's just say that if she sees something she likes she's going to make a bid for it, okay? Nothing wrong with that. ;) It can be a little overwhelming though- she has a tendency to not notice the discomfort she's causing the person she likes. She has a particular attraction to gentle, quiet types, partly because they're cute and partly because she wants to be the one to bring them out of their shell. She doesn't necessarily do this actively...she just has an eye for potential (or at least she thinks she does), and will try to draw that out whether the other person likes it or not. Her tactic for this is pretty much to keep bugging them until they open up. She loves a good conversation and she loves to learn about people she's interested in; she can even get rather nosy at times with her endless questions, but she knows when to back off. That doesn't mean she WILL back off, but she certainly knows when she's supposed to.

If you know the buttons to push it's easy to rile her up (and boy, does she make the best flustered faces when you do), but Maruko normally tries to act fairly collected and even-tempered in day-to-day life. She's not as wise or worldly as she'd like to pretend, but she possesses an odd kind of maturity that she rarely takes advantage of. For example, being a robot, she has become a bit jaded and accustomed to the idea of humans as impermanent things that will inevitably grow old and die without her. But while other robots in the same series will sometimes angst about this or use it as an excuse to detach themselves, somehow it's never stopped Maruko from getting close to others. She refuses to shut herself away from the world at all.

On the other hand, she has an independent streak a mile wide. Maruko is unique among robots for having changed her last name to one of her own choosing, instead of taking her original owner's name. This is highly unusual- pretty much unheard of - and Maruko wouldn't have it any other way. She wants to be her own person and make her own dreams come true more than anything. What dreams? Maruko is an artist- a painter, to be exact. Canvases and paints cover her tiny cabin, and she has a strong appreciation for the beauty of the world. For now, she's working part time in an art supply shop, but she refuses to be stuck in that kind of job forever. If nothing else, Maruko is determined (though some might prefer the word stubborn). She has a great passion for her art and never gives up on trying to improve or make a career out of this love. She dislikes taking orders from people, but she's perfectly content to toil away doing chores and odd jobs if it brings her even a tiny bit closer to making it on her own. She can be a big lazy slob when it comes to busywork or things that don't interest her, but if there's something she wants she'll work as hard as she needs to.

Sounds nice so far, but Maruko is far from perfect. It's not that hard to get on her bad side, and it's impressive how bitterly this girl can hold onto a grudge. She's strangely critical and nitpicky about certain things, and she's blunt enough to tell you about your failings to your face. She can be snarky as hell whenever something annoys her, which again, isn't hard to do. Naturally, this has the potential to earn her quite a few enemies. She also has an insanely jealous nature- the one guaranteed way to seriously piss Maruko off is to get at all close to someone she really likes. Whether it's her current crush or just a good friend, she can't help but feel like they're being "taken away" and will react as though her property's been threatened. She can get pretty damn mean when this happens, making not-so-subtle digs at the other person or flat out telling them they suck, but never admitting the actual reason behind her dislike. This can get her in big trouble, because at times like this she never even stops to think about how her friend feels, much less the person she's actually mad at. It's one of her worst traits, and it can be a huge pain to try and knock some sense into her.

Another thing that really riles her up are moochers and people she sees as "fake". She may not be the hardest worker in the world, but at least she takes responsibility for herself! It really bugs her to see other people skating by on the kindness of others, playing nice to get people to take care of everything for them.

But even this is actually pretty hypocritical, since Maruko can be a skilled manipulator when she wants to be. Though she's usually blunt and scruffy, just comb her hair and dress her a little nicer and Maruko instantly turns into a sweet, bubbly young lady who can charm the heck out of anyone with some blatant flattery and coy giggles. She's used to presenting this as her public face at work to get friendly with customers and convince them to spend more money. And she's pretty damn popular too. But she's not exactly happy about doing it, and if anyone she knew ever caught her acting that way she would die of embarrassment and never live it down.

But sweet talking a couple customers isn't the same as using people just so you can have an easy life, right? ...Right? Well, that's what she tells herself. Maruko hates admitting that she's wrong, and she'll sulk like a child if she's ever caught at something. But when she is wrong, she'll try to make it up to you, even if she finds it hard to apologize directly.

Abilities: Robots in YKK are ridiculously human. They eat, sleep, get drunk, get hurt, etc. They have no super strength or magical robo powers. However, they are very resilient; they need much less food or drink than humans do to survive. Their skin is self-healing to an extent (a sunburn heals completely in a few hours, for example). And, of course, they don't age. Due to their construction (which is intentionally vague in the series), they have a deep level of connection with certain machines, with sound and music, and with natural elements of the world such as the ocean and the sky. On the mundane side of things, Maruko herself is a talented painter.

First Person: [Voice]

...right. One question.

What the heck did I drink last night.

No, seriously, I can't remember a thing...! Argh, didn't I just get off work and go to bed early? I definitely don't remember signing any contracts about houses and- and cars and families or whatever that paper was saying! Well, to be sure, my place could use some fixing up, but still. I don't need a whole new house, much less the rest of that stuff, okay? Right, this is all just a big misunderstanding. So yeah, if someone could just tell me how to talk to the landlord, I can clear this all up! And then...figure out where exactly this is and how to get home, I guess.

...you know, I might keep the car though. Waaay better than the shop's old junker! I've never even seen one like that; it can't seriously be free, right? There's got to be a catch...

Third Person: [note: this sample is pretty old and reflects a slightly earlier canon point; her personality hasn't changed, but her attitude toward another character has. Let me know if you need a new one!]

Maruko let her brush drop to the side with a clatter, sitting back and stretching tremendously. Every joint popped and cracked and she winced, glancing around to try and figure out how long she'd been sitting there. Her clock had gotten buried somewhere, again, but outside the sun was rapidly sinking towards the horizon. More than an hour, then, at least. She rubbed her eyes and blinked at the canvas in front of her, eyebrows furrowing in annoyance.

It was a rather plain landscape, a view of the small lake nearby. A warm-up piece, something simple. At least, it was supposed to be. Right now it was just a mess. The trees looked like toothpicks, the water looked like mud. It looked more like a child's drawing than something she should be proud of. Maruko grimaced and pushed the easel away, clambering to her feet. This wasn't working. She needed a break.

She wandered over to the window and slid it open, leaning on the sill and letting the late afternoon breeze blow in. Nothing had been turning out right lately. Was she going through some kind of art block? Had her talent suddenly, inexplicably peaked? No...this had all started after she took a trip out to that little cafe in the middle of nowhere. No matter how much she tried to forget it, she kept going over it in her mind. She was beginning to be way too preoccupied with that woman.

Alpha...what kind of person was she? She seemed like an idiot, as far as Maruko was concerned. Too nice, too sheltered. Tripping all over herself to please others and looking like a fool while doing it. Maruko supposed she could see what her friend saw in her, but man...how annoying. It bugged her just thinking about it. Who did she think she was, waltzing in and stealing away other people's friends? What a pain! What did she have that Maruko didn't?

Maruko slumped forward, resting her chin on her arms and letting out a heaving sigh. Stupid Alpha with her stupid coffee shop. Stupid (beautiful) Kokone falling for her stupid naive charms.

Stupid Maruko, losing to someone like that.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Madoka Kaname
Age: 14
Canon: Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Canon Point: timeline three (in episode 10), before Sayaka turns into a witch.
Species: human/puella magi
Gender: female
Orientation: 14 YEARS OLD...

History: wiki
Appearance: here, and here in her puella magi outfit
Personality:

Madoka Kaname is described as a 'good girl' who 'always tries hard to do what is right'. And this pretty much hits the mark exactly. She has a strong sense of right and wrong, though it may not be the same belief in justice that her friend Sayaka has. More than anything, Madoka is opposed to suffering and despair, and she treasures hope above anything else. She's quick to trust, especially when it comes to talking with someone in need of help, like Kyubey or even Mami. Honest and straightforward and always wearing her heart on her sleeve, she tends to assume that everyone has the same good intentions that she does... but this tends to backfire on her when they don't.

Though she has a powerful moral compass, Madoka herself used to be an extremely timid and hesitant girl. As much as she loves her friends and family, she had always thought of herself as a useless person of no worth and talent. Her biggest fear was going through life as someone who would only burden others and never be able to help anyone. Coincidentally enough, Madoka's low self-esteem gives her a selflessness that actually does more harm than good. She's the kind of person who would sell her own soul to save that of a friend's, and tries multiple times to do this to help Sayaka in canon during her downhill spiral into despair. And, despite being convinced of her uselessness, she keeps tagging along with Sayaka and Mami in their witch patrols to aid them in any way she could, and later accompanies Kyoko into Oktavia's witch barrier in what seems to be a mission destined to fail. Her friends are so precious to her that when things go wrong, her first instinct is to blame herself for being too weak and cowardly to make a difference. Even if there's almost nothing she could have done, she's overwhelmed with survivor's guilt after Mami's death, and this crippling trauma only worsens with Sayaka's and Kyoko's. Unfortunately, when she's being specifically baited into becoming a puella magi, her urge to protect her friends and the trauma that results when she fails can be very easily manipulated to persuade her to contract with Kyubey.

Ironically enough, contracting with Kyubey and becoming a puella magi is one of the only ways Madoka is able to let go of her self-doubt. As a magical girl, Madoka is a confident and reassuring person who is proud of her ability to fight witches and save people. After realizing her own self-worth, she comes to an understanding of the worth and good in all people. Madoka has always been a friendly person, but puella magi Madoka is much more willing to reach out and offer help to anyone in need. In particular, she sees a lot of herself in Homura Akemi when they first met. She constantly tries to validate and compliment Homura and give her some faith in herself, even as she was struggling both academically and physically in school. As someone who used to fear that she could never be of use to anyone, Madoka's proudest moment is saving Homura from the suicidal influence and familiars of the witch Izabel, and this precious memory is one that she uses to give herself the strength to face down Walpurgis Night.

Despite how different puella magi Madoka might appear pre- and post-contract, she's still the same girl underneath it all. She enjoys the simpler things in life, like rare sweets and drawing frilly outfits and petting cute stray cats. Unlike almost all of her other friends, she always tries to be understanding and nonjudgmental of others, despite how questionable their first impressions may be. Having puella magi powers doesn't change her core personality. Even with magic at her disposal, she's still a pacifist at heart and only wants people to get along, no matter how impossible that seems. As a mediator, she tries constantly to smooth things over between the other members of her puella magi team, though it's practically second nature for magical girls to distrust each other. In the end, despite her nonconfrontational approach, she acts quickly and decisively to protect those she loves... even if it comes down to killing a friend to do it.

Madoka ultimately loves not only her friends and family, but, eventually, herself as well. But even more than that, she loves the world. Nobody deserves to die a despairing, hopeless death. To protect that belief, she's more than willing to give up her life in countless timelines, and finally her very existence, to fight for the people she cares for: everyone.

Abilities:

Madoka is a puella magi, which funnily enough is a superhuman capability that was given to her by an alien! not many of her abilities are shown, however. these are the ones that are!

  • magic arrows. Madoka has a rose-styled bow as her puella magi weapon and can fire magical missiles, sometimes multiple shots at once. even though she says she's still a beginner, she's pretty skilled with this attack, which is strong enough to shatter a soul gem and kill another puella magi in a single hit.
  • increased stamina/conditional invulnerability. due to the nature of the soul gem, a puella magi's body is strengthened to withstand greater pain so that they could continue to battle even after a normal human being would have been incapacitated. canon doesn't specify how far this can go, but Madoka will have to keep her soul gem close to her at all times to function (within 100 meters or so). destroying the gem would kill her. she'll also require grief seeds (witch 'eggs', dropped after a witch is defeated) to purify her soul gem, which loses energy as she uses magic or starts giving into despair.
  • world-destroying magical potential. Madoka is a 'naturally gifted' puella magi who's considerably stronger than many other magical girls. when Homura makes a wish to turn back time and save Madoka, she became the focus of numerous worlds and timelines and accumulated a world-ending amount of magical potential. If her soul gem is drained and she doesn't replenish it with grief seeds, Madoka would turn into a witch so powerful that it would destroy the planet in less than ten days.

IC INFORMATION

Characters Name:
Kotarō Katsura
Age: never specified beyond "in his 20s". Most likely 24-26.
Canon: That Canon where the main character spends at least two chapters with a sword stuck in his arsehole up to the hilt while his minor friends make dick jokes. In short, Balls Gintama.
Canon Point: start of ch415, where he's just been made redundant in his organization by the amnesia-Shogun and is wailing to Gintoki behind the bars (and gets a boot to the face).
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Orientation: He prefers women - well, widows and middle-aged unfaithful wives, to be exact. Also, his shown love interest is a female ramen-shop owner, Ikumatsu. However he does seem rather fluid about gender roles and has no qualms about dressing up and posing as a woman, not to mention the timeskip arc where he sorta shacks up with a man, so there's a chance that a person's sex/gender isn't the most important thing to him.

History:
[link] Not much is really known about any of the characters' history (aside from the guys who die, I guess). Still, there are bits and pieces that let us get a general picture.

Katsura's parents are never mentioned, however since he was among the children taken in by Yoshida Shouyou and formed a great bond with him, he may be presumed to have been an orphan. At that time, the Amanto war – samurai trying to resist the aliens taking over Japan, while the government eventually gave up – was going strong, and many children were left without families and homes. Shoyou-sensei was a kind-hearted man who ran a sort of a school; the kids had shelter and he taught them many things, including the way of the sword. That must have been why the new-found Amanto government saw him as a threat and ordered him executed.

That didn't sit in well with the students. They picked up their swords and their knowledge and joined the losing war against the Amanto. Three of them had become particularly feared warriors, able to tip the scales of a fight; those three were Sakata Gintoki, Takasugi Shinsuke and Katsura Kotaro. They have also befriended another young idiot genius, Sakamoto Tatsuma (the four of them is frequently called „the old Joui“ or „the Joui Four“ by the fandom). Katsura adhered strictly to samurai ideals at that time; when cornered by a massive number of enemies with Gintoki, he suggested they commit seppuku and „die with honour“. Gintoki, however, insisted that if he has time to think about beautiful death, he should „live beautifully“ instead, and urged him to fight until the end. They ultimately won that battle, and Katsura started valuing tenaciousness more, willing to run and get back into a fight another day rather than fruitlessly die trying.

Not many details are given on how exactly the war was lost in the end, but the four friends separated. Sakamoto went on to become a star merchant with his own fleet, now working together with the very same Amanto he fought. Gintoki remained in Japan, settling in Edo and trying to lead a civilian life as an odd-jobs guy, his past unknown to the people. However, Katsura and Takasugi refused to lose and continued pursuing their war, moving underground and effectively becoming terrorists, hunted by the police and the government forces. Still, while alike at first, their views differed a little. Takasugi remained completely grief-struck almost to the point of insanity, seeking to destroy the government and the whole country, not caring whom he allied with or went against on the way. Katsura's way was different.

At first he was similarly lead by the belief that the government is rotten, and the aliens needed to GTFO. He engaged in a number of terrorist activities, including sending bombs to agencies and ambassadors, generally little concerned if his actions hurt innocent bystanders. Being charismatic and a good strategist, he quickly gathered a band of like-minded followers, the new Jouishishi. He also continuously harrassed Gintoki to join them, believing that if the legendary White Demon was going to give them a hand, they will actually succeed this time. It's during one such time when Gintoki finally explains some of his motives to Katsura, essentially giving him The Speech about how he needs to stop because there's no need for any more dead comrades. It's at this point that Katsura finally abandons the suicidal part of his ideals, and agrees that it's good when some people won't change their ways, admitting that destroying the world may not be the answer they're looking for.

However, his bigger change of heart happens later, when he meets a ramen shop owner named Ikumatsu. She hides him when he's injured during a police patrol, without knowing his full identity, and the two develop a bond. At some point she confesses that her late husband was killed by people calling themselves Joui patriots, and she despises them since then. As it turned out, said people (including her brother in law) were indeed quite despicable, mostly using the name of freedom fighters for their own gain. Katsura spectacularly helped her get rid of them and made sure they would never dirty the Joui name again. From this point on, he started seeking more peaceful ways to change the situation that he loathed, keeping the well-being of ordinary people in mind. Instead of bombing, he turned to political activism, and various often harmless plots aimed against the government or the police, also spreading the word and recruiting new people. His people, now considered a moderate faction, separate from Takasugi's extremists, were no longer hunted as intensely. However, despite of becoming a somewhat-pacifist, Katsura still had no qualms about plotting (or trying) to kill the Shinsengumi, the Shogun or other government officials.

Another rather influental event occured during the „Benizakura arc“, when one of Takasugi's hired men (who admittedly went loose canon but w/e) attempts to kill Katsura, and for a while everyone (including the readers) is lead to believe that he was successful. When Katsura finally returns (finding Yorozuya, his men and all other Joui factions being enraged by his demise and declaring war on Takasugi's group), he tries to talk to Takasugi, confirming that he hadn't stopped thinking of him as a comrade and asking what the hell he was doing. The response, however, is an ambush from the alien space pirates. It is made clear that Takasugi has no qualms about selling out his old friends so long as he can destroy everything in the end. Katsura and Gintoki escape narrowly after making a promise to cut him down next time they meet.

For the rest of the series, Katsura is mostly seen tangled into various shenanigans with either the Yorozuya or the Shinsengumi, some more ridiculous than others, also experiencing an unrequited love for Ikumatsu and helping her meet her father. He has also spent lots of quality time with the Shogun recently, gaining respect (and jealousy) for his leadership abilities, both of them implying they'd have to kill each other next time.

At some point early in the series, Katsura receives a present from Sakamoto which turns out to be a duck-penguin-Amanto-Thing that he takes in as a pet and names Elizabeth. Since then, the two of them are rarely see apart. While there are multiple hints at Elizabeth being an old man in a sheet throughout the series, Katsura remains ignorant of it and continues doting on the eccentric avian.

Appearance:
Katsura has shiny and smooth long black hair (cut with bangs and sidelocks) and dark brown eyes. He's Japanese, mid-sized (height 175cm) and rather light-weighted (56kg). He commonly wears a blue kimono with a yellow sash and a light blue (or white or dark blue) jacket-thing („haori“?), complete with traditional white socks and sandals. He is normally well-mannered and serious, and talks formally like an old man. He carries a sword around and keeps things (like bombs, letters and coupons) in his sleeves. He is also prone to wearing various (sometimes ridiculous) disguises.

keepcalmandbomb: (thumbs up // this is a great deal)

[personal profile] keepcalmandbomb 2013-06-01 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality: Probably the first thing to note about Katsura is that he is 100% earnest about everything he does. Whether it's commanding the patriots, playing a game or trying to become the lead female character, he takes it seriously (and often to the extreme). In addition to his vivid imagination, this often results in strange (at least to others) behaviour, such as rescuing a traffic cone from fake train tracks, or carrying around two plates of curry. Unlike the rest of the characters, he is rarely seen joking, too, and that just adds to it.

Despite his illogical or outright dumb actions and decisions that lack any sort of common sense, Katsura is rather intelligent and well-read, capable of coming up with (mostly) effective strategies or escape routes, and on a couple occasions quoting national history figures or classic literature. He's also supposedly quite charismatic, continuously managing to gather people around himself and lead his faction against impossible odds, while maintaining complete loyalty and adoration of his men (although they do occasionally call him out on his shit or ditch him for the newest TV drama novella discussion). In fact, he's highly regarded by the whole patriot movement, even being called „the hope of the jouishishi“, as seen when the other factions rise to war upon hearing he was presumably killed.

Katsura seems to be very old-fashioned. Most of the time, he's seen wearing traditional clothes, and speaking in the formal manner of an old man. It's also a trending occurrence that he keeps falling behind the times, referencing shows that are no longer aired, video game consoles that are no longer in production, or celebrities that are no longer popular. Despite all that, he does seem relatively knowledgeable of some aspects of pop culture, and spends more time watching television (mostly soaps) than one would expect out of a rebel leader who isn't a desperate housewife. Thanks to his knowledge of TV-novel plots and his own giant dramatic streak, on occasion he tends to overreact to details and come up with elaborate, irrelevant stories that can move people to tears, not to mention he usually ends up believing it completely himself.

He is usually polite and gentle-mannered, but he is ridiculously stubborn and has an unexpectedly short temper, as well. Depending on the circumstances, it could take one sentence to have him screaming and smashing something, although at times he's even oblivious to direct insults. His biggest annoyance is being called anything else than 'Katsura', and he will correct anyone to a comical extent (like answering completely unrelated questions, like „are you okay?“, with his name).

Overall, Katsura is an idealist. He wants to believe the best about the world and the people, and he's set out to cleanse it from social injustice. He's not all sunshine and rainbows either, though; he knows that change includes sacrifices, he's willing to kill the officials whom he believes are corrupted beyond saving, and he might even be aware of how almost-hopeless his fight is. Nonetheless, he carries on, because he believes in the dream of a new world, where the humans are once again in control of their land and corruption doesn't run rampant. He can be quite ruthless when it comes to handling important situations (like suggesting going after the child princess' head to eliminate the government, or plotting his escape from the prison while convincing everyone else they were there rightfully and had to right their wrongs, even going for a kinda-evil laugh while sinking into an escape tunnel), and that's because this new world is the most important thing, which simply must be accomplished. That's also why he's a famous escapist, what doesn't exactly go with the samurai stay-and-fight code; in order to bring about the revolution, he must be alive for it, so it takes priority over foolishly engaging in unnecessary combat for honour (with the exceptions when he's promised to protect someone or it's people important to him).

Katsura's overall appearance is quite similar to Shouyou-sensei's, including the clothes and hairstyle. I don't think it's a coincidence; everyone copes with a dear person's death differently. It's possible that this way, Katsura feels like some part of Shouyou will be around to see their dream of war-free, better future come true once he accomplishes it. Of course, he may simply show his respect this way, too, or his strive to gain similar wisdom and serenity that he so adored. Or maybe all of it; he still carries around his old textbook. Either way, Shouyou was and still is a major part of his student's lives, and while their memories are most likely idealized, his classroom was shown to be a truly peaceful and serene place, where all of them would return if given the chance.

Finally, an interesting and once again lighter shade to Katsura's personality is his vicious love for furry animals, especially cats and dogs and especially their paw pads. He goes to great lengths for fluffy things, like snooping around houses that have lots of pets, willingly becoming a cat scratchpost, and actually blushing whenever the prospect of petting something arrives. It probably borders on a fetish, too. His own pet, Elizabeth, doesn't have fur nor feathers, but he still loves it a great deal and dotes on it, completely unaware of its suspicious nature.

Abilities:
Zura's a samurai and a war veteran, so he's an expert swordsman, not to mention packs a pretty mean kick and punch (also, as most JUMP characters, he can bleed, be beaten up, kicked in the face or smashed into the ground without lasting consequences). However, his weapon of choice are various bombs and grenades, which he handles with scary accuracy (most of the time). He can pretty much pull out a bomb at any given moment (even if him having it makes no logical sense). He also seems to turn random objects into explosives, for example, using a corn bar snack as a smoke bomb.

He was also shown to use food as a weapon, most notably fried rice and curry, which are soaked in something that makes those who eat it suffer from severe stomach ache and diarrhea. However, it was never shown if he can actually make food, so there's the possibility that he just sucks at cooking.

He is also capable of changing his voice and masking his presence, owning a wide variety of disguises (most of which are pretty obvious, really, but the police rarely seems to catch on). He tends to be ready for everything, to a comical extent (which is perhaps part of the point). He can also move people to tears with his elaborate storytelling (yes that's an ability).

His hair also grows back really quickly when cut, and the author's explanation for it is that he has a lot of dirty thoughts. He also seems to have the ability to absorb viruses and therefore never gets sick, although prolonged exposure to flu turns him into a black man (who goes by the name *ill Smith). (This, along with his trans-dimensional pocket for endless bombs is probably closest to 'special powers', but I have no idea if it should be nerfed since a big part of it is just the series' overall bizarre.)

Other:
His birthday is 26 June, making him a Cancer. His hair is also exceptionally pretty and well cared for (to the point of an asshole character mockingly inquiring if he was actually a woman).

SAMPLES

First Person:

[meme link, dead man warning]

Third Person:
There were supposed to be pictures of cute fluffy kittens. That was what the subject line was saying, at any rate. That was the only reason why Katsura agreed to have a small break from his hard work spreading patriotic ideals on the widths of Internet and click on that new inbox item from an unknown sender.

Nothing about kittens could ever be suspicious in any way, after all. While pictures were nothing next to the actual cute, fluffy, warm animals, it was better than nothing, and since the day had been spent on serious work, so far it was nothing. Not that Katsura wasn't proud of his business day, anyway; new public posters and personal messages have been sent, and with any luck, the Joui would be getting a whole bunch of new members soon. Nonetheless, such a great deed called for a small celebration, and this was just about the right thing. Kittens always made a day brighter.

Unfortunately, what appeared on his screen a moment later, was something entirely else. Huge, glittering Comic Sans letters announced:

"You have received a cursed Hello Kitty! Forward this message to twenty friends today or suffer the furry consequences! ♥"

"What?!" Katsura shouted at his screen, scandalized to the depths of his proudly Japanese bones. "What sort of a despicable person could have ever cursed Hello Kitty, and then tried to trick respectable citizens with promises of sweet paws?!" There had to be a special divine punishment meant for people like this. Or a special place in Hell. There would better be, or they'd end up homeless when Katsura figured out their address. Such evil! The next thing you know, someone will curse baby sloths, Mickey the Mascot, and Leo*ardo DiCaprio. Corruption had to be cut out at its roots in the best interest of everyone --

Right. The letter. He knew better than to take a cat curse lightly. Last time he's dealt with one, he ended up buried in some deep shit (literally) and it had been none too pleasant, even if the idea of always having a paw at hand to rub his face into was sort of nice. It was not a convenient form here, and while he had no idea what this particular curse was about, it was obviously better to do as it said. Ah, it was already late; he had been so busy enlightening the youth and the computer-literate elderly that he didn't even notice the time passing. There was still time, though, and he was going to make the most of it.

"I must focus on this task at once!"

A little more hysterically than most people dealing with spam chain letters, he went through the contact list, sending the email off to whomever he could find, racing the clock to midnight. With the last click, he held his breath and waited.

Did it work?

Characters Name:
Isao Kondo
Age: "Almost 30" so 'bout 28 or 29 (though canonically everyone's forever young)
Canon: Gintama
Canon Point: Post Unsetting Moon arc (also known as Oh No Not The Longing, Star Crusted Old Lovers I'm Cry arc)(A.K.A the end of episode 261, or 9, of Gintama: Enchousen)
Species: Gorilla Human
Gender: Male
Orientation: Heterosexual. He's been stalking a hot blooded little filly since his debut and only has eyes for her (he can appreciate a hot bod though, of course) and as such he's kept his lazy eye on females only. Honestly, he'd be alright with a husband after getting used to it, however. Set up with a husband he would be awkward about it for about five minutes, scream about his 'betrothed' Otae-san and how he can't wear white to their wedding day, but he'd make the most of it. Probably even carry his husband across the threshold. His personality dictates banana mush brains when it comes to things that would normally make a straight man a little Concerned.

History: Like a good bunch of the cast, Kondo's past isn't focused on in depth. Yet. We know he was presumably born and raised in a little country samurai bumpkin village called Bushuu, where he went on to help teach young promising men swordsmenship in a dojo. He gained many comrades and made a family of the men he taught, and when the Amanto war was waged and the ol' country bumpkin samurai lost their privilege to their swords BY LAW, accepted the defeat and assimilation of their alien invaders, Kondo did something about it. He packed up his boys and went to Edo where he made a deal with the Bakufu; he submitted to their grueling rule, swallowed his pride, and formed the rowdy, yet efficient (ish...) Shinsengumi. He spends his days after all is said and done blowing up half the city, somehow triumphing through half botched rescues, fighting back to back with his beloved comrades, and stalking an 18 year old hottie that makes a habit of splitting his skull open in the name of love.

Appearance:
 photo tumblr_lxgqhq22Bm1r0eq28o1_500_zpsf439383b.jpg

Personality: Kondo Isao is a very uncomplicated gorilla. He isn’t the sharpest crayon in the box, and that’s okay, he still gets screen time that way. He's fine with delegating some of the more strategic duties to the rest of his Shinsengumi. It’s actually more okay because he has the kind of magnet personality that draws all kinds of people to him. His easy going nature puts people at ease (or disturbs them when he's being idiotic or gross) and he easily makes friends and even his enemies don't quite know what to make of his bumbling casual friendly behavior. He's kindhearted to a fault, trusting to a fault that's actually been dangerous in the past; As in, one time one of his men who had returned to their ranks, Itou, had betrayed them deeply, sank into the seduction of power from one of their worst enemies, Shinsuke Takasugi and Kondo didn't see it or believe it or have an ounce of doubt in this man until his life and the disbandment of his men was on the line, not even when his second in command spoke up. He was so rankled by Hijikata, his 2nds, bizarre behavior, and Itou had cozied up to him so much that he doubted Hijikata and had no choice but to discipline him instead of seeing the dots of suspicion connecting. And even more so, he was willing to forgive their traitor and was even more willing to give up his life for the safety of his men, admitting how stupid he was for not trusting his second in command's instinct and wisdom. It's as if he has a really hard time seeing the bad in people.

His men call him the soul of the Shinsengumi for this and many more reasons, for if he wasn't there to hold them together, hadn't given them that reason to keep on fighting, well, we wouldn't have the Shinsengumi bangbang variety hour would we? He isn't one to hold grudges, except when his precious people are involved. His temper can flare, especially when it involves many of his running gags, but he can just as easily cast off the anger of it and start anew, laughing, even. Laughter and observations of a confusing manner come easily to him, as does misunderstanding and nudity. Seriously, there's a nip slip or ass slip from him at least once every episode he's in, if not that then his toilet humor really shines through. At one point he was semi-ashamed (or at least had the semblance of modesty on screen) of his nudity, but nowadays he's completely and unabashedly shameless, truly a creature to hold in high esteem.

Furthermore, when the credibility and inner conflict revolving around the (former) Shogun is put into question, instead of nodding and following orders mindlessly like a good little soldier, Kondo immediately speaks of the injustice of the conspiracy and though he sees his second in command's point (keeping quiet and following orders is all they can do, after all, this crumble-y, corrupt government is the only reason they can even pretend to be country boy samurai. Not to mention it's their job to defend Edo, not dabble in politics) he declares that if the Shinsengumi ignore what's in front of them, they are no better than the corrupt Bakufu, and he isn't interested in playing a bogus samurai that doesn't follow a code. And once he and the rest of his men eavesdropped like the naughty boys they are and heard the whole story of the Princess' 'Grampy' and the Shogun's involvement in the corruption, they put on all the airs of preparing traitorous criminals for their execution- but ultimately they do what is right in their hearts and suit them up to take down the evildoer. While Shit Goes Down, they provide back up and support of their Lord Shogun (the one with the soiled undies- but we don't talk about that) and loyally stand by with the full knowledge that getting the Bakufu back to its former, non corruption laced glory is going to be tough, and there's still much work to do, but they stick together and stick to the side of good and righteousness and, ultimately, what's right for the people as well.

When Kondo gets serious it means there is some Serious Shit going down. He's like a different man, and every inch the commander in chief he worked so hard to become; his orders are as sharp as his sword. Being the commander in chief of the Shinsengumi, directly under the clammy thumb of the corrupt government, one would think he’d use that authority to do what he wishes. No, Kondo doesn’t. He treats his fellow Shinsengumi like brothers in arms because they ARE his brothers in arms. There are countless times when he says something stupid and instead of holding their tongue like you would if your boss said something not too brilliant, his men call him out on it. They feel that close and trusting of him to treat him like that big goofy older brother or creepy uncle. (One particular time in the early episode days is when Otsuu-chan the idol was their commander for a day in order to save their unsalvageable reputation, his men were scrambling to get her autograph, he put his foot down, only to turn around and expose her autograph signed right there on his uniform. What did his men do? They beat his ass, like one would a close friend).

When he ran that little dojo in the old country, he and these men thrived as brothers. But in a time where the Amanto, the alien invaders, took over once the war was lost, there was no place for swords or samurai ethics. The only ones who could retain their swords were those who worked for the government. What Kondo did was step down as a simple country bumpkin and took on the mantle of a dog of the government, he was so selfless, that as long as he and his friends could still retain their swords, their tethering bond, he would be happy. So he’s happy to let his men shoulder some of the work, he’s never really been one for brains. As long as they’re happy, he’s happy. And in the end he got an even more important duty: saving people. Not just remaining a country samurai bumpkin, or a mindless zombie of the government, but doing good for the people. He takes to this job relentlessly. At one point in time he had to choose between listening to his superiors and allowing them to blast a monster out of the sky, a monster that had hostages, including a child. Despite the insistence of his boss, he refused, he begged and coaxed for five more minutes, knowing his ass would once again be on the frying pan. He outright refused to listen to the argument of the need of the many outweigh the needs of the few. When Otsuu-chan had been held hostage by terrorists and said terrorists demanded his subordinates listen to their orders and kill Kondo, he was ready to lay his life on the line. (Though it was a cop out, a very good trick). He tells his men to trample over his own dead body in order to protect what needs to be protected; the people.

On the other hand, he's just as stubborn and relentless at work and at love. Kondo is very much a stalker of one Shimura Tae; showing up wherever she goes, probably stealing underwear, asking her out every chance he gets. He is relentless in obtaining her love. This guy has literally been blown up and had his ass split open countless times, but he won't give up on Otae. On the other hand he can have a sweet side to it: the time Otae went off with her childhood friend Kyuubei, having every intention of fulfilling their childhood promise of marriage, he went after her not just to get on her good side. But because he didn't fancy seeing her unhappy. He wasn't satisfied with the way she said farewell to her loved ones, in tears, and if she truly was going to be happy with Kyuubei, he would have let her go and be happy.
So in short, he's a huge mondo dork. It's incredibly hard to take him seriously unless the situation is Dire As Hell. He's not the sharpest crayon in the box and isn't quick on the getgo, but he makes up for that in nudity and fighting spirit. His scientific
Abilities: Being the Commander of the Shinsengumi, he has vast amounts of experience with a sword and due to his co-running a dojo pre-canon, it's safe to say he has some experience with hand to hand combat as well. For such an extraordinary personality, he’s a decently ordinary kind of guy. Since he's serialized in JUMP one 'ability' to note is his ability to take a beating and still keep breathing. He's been blown up, throw out windows, throw into walls, flown through the air- you get the picture. In terms of strength, he beat one of the 4 Devas (the most highly skilled of the 4, in fact) of the Yagyuu clan, the Devas being highly skilled members of the clan.

First Person:
[Sadists in denial and masochists in denial go hand in hand, don’t they? Otae looked so peaceful, to Kondo’s damn near brain damaged vision, and so happy that even through his agony he smiled stupidly and dribbled…oh was that blood? Internal bleeding? INTERNAL BLEEDING OF THEIR LOVE!

Ah but Otae had just inhaled deeply…was she alright or…OH…Kondo gave Otae a warm smile, a knowing glint in his eyes. Idiot.]

Otae-san there’s no need to be shy about farting in front of me, we’ve nibbled at the fruit of fate together, till gas do us never part our cheeks! Usually when I try to cover up my gas I clap really loudly or cough until it’s over. But your delicate and smooth butt could only produce freshly scented puffs of pixie dust that smell of honey dew! [What even was that…was honey dew milk a thing? What exactly kind of teats did that come from? Let’s not go there yet.

And okay so his hand was a little…damp, but that was sweat of joy because he was so happy to see her! There was no full on booger contact between the clammy hand clasping Otae’s and the gooey menaces. None at all.]

No need to be so concerned about him, he’s a man now, isn’t he? Us future family members have been looking out for each other.

[She uttered her brother’s name oh so sweetly that Kondo couldn’t help but be moved once again, eyes so adoring and full of warmth. Ah, the first thing she thinks of upon being tugged ruthlessly from her world is her younger brother, of course! Ahhh what a kind wife he had. If only he knew the pain in store for his brother in law. Naturally though he didn’t have time to think of his partner in glasses because at that moment Otae…she was smiiiiling at him. And he felt a very gooey, fuzzy and tight feeling in his chest and a goofy smile of his own joined hers and he had no fucking idea that a split second later he would be in tears.

CRACK went his fingers.] AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH OTAE-SAN, OTAE-SAN I UH, I THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE HELD MY HAND A LITTLE TOO TIGHT, I-I-IF YOU’RE SCARED IT’S OKAY TO HOLD MY HAND B-B-BUT PLEASE NOT THAT HARD, WAIT TILL A ROMANTIC DATE AT A HAUNTED HOUSE RIDE. P-P-PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAASE MY HAND OTAAAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEE-SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN YOUR EXPRESSION OF LOVE CAN ONLY MAKE ME IGNORE HOW MY FINGERS ARE CROOKED FOR SO LON-

IS THAT A BONE STICKING OUT? AHA…HAH…YOU’RE SO PASSIONATE…

[If he set out an SOS with some banana peels do you think anyone would notice? Does a Gorilla crap in a tree?]

But I’m really happy you’re so worried about me, Otae-san! But there’s no need to worry! Really. If we believe it’s a training mission then it really will feel like one eventually! [He could somehow smile through the thick tears in his eyes and voice.]

Third Person: Kondo being Kondo couldn’t simply sit around while his second in command and the rest of the newly Clusterfucked population went about bringing some good old fashioned 21st (relatively speaking) century whoop ass upon the land- not to mention all of the renovations and determination to make the best of things. And as it turned out he was happy enough to do the same; patrolling and attempting to solve minor disputes between the residents was a full time shit (read as: zero) paying job but somebody had to have their best interests in mind. Plus it semi kept him out of the trouble of too much time on his hands and headaches for his remaining comrades that even mayo or torture couldn’t relieve.

But all work and no play made the sometimes nicknamed Gorilla an overworked boy and alllll the determination and focus in the better known universe couldn’t put humpty together aga- er keep Kondo bound for long. So on a cool aftereven….mor- it’s a cave so time is relative, Kondo took the chance to expand his exploration on the reasoning that the bananas he had recently obtained were running out and also tasted kind of funky to even his expert tastebuds. That and all the jungle fever jokes, and finding a cave to search out hidden innuendos and metaphors in was a sure fire way to spend the day.

There he was, expert explorer for Mankind with his clothes streaked with dirt and a suspicious blue substance glowing in smears across his lips and chin, a hand dutifully clutching his jiblies for their own safety in this unknown world, and in his eyes burned the determination of a single (Virgo, likes long walks on the beach and Peace and bananas and holding hands) human being bent on a clear goal in mind.

“Gotta piss gotta piss gotta piss gotta piiiiiiiiiiisssssssssss….” His gait was that of a man who either had an enraged girlfriend/stalk-ee on his tail or a sale on the latest video equally on his tail if he in fact had a tail. Since this isn’t the case let’s just say the Pee Dance to the Nth power. Thus he shuffled to on stalagmite in particular and then there was the recognizable sound of a zipper being tugged into freedom and a liberating stream that unfortunately was interrupted by a voice shattering his pee……….ace

“W-WHAT?! YOU WHO’S…………THERE!? SHOW YOURSELF! I AM THE COMMANDER OF THE SHINSENGUMI AND I HAVE A……….well blue pee…dammit I got some on my shoe…S-SO I’M NOT AFRAID TO ARREST YOU!”

If you choose to accept this mission will you leave him hanging with literally his weewee hanging?

Characters Name: Hayate Ayasaki
Age: 16
Canon: Hayate the Combat Butler!
Canon Point: After chapter 390
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Orientation: Straight

History: Wiki link for convenience!
Appearance: Butler gonna butler
Personality:
Hayate is one of those Nice Guys. Hailing from the land of shounen harem leads, Hayate has that soft, caring and kind personality that just generally appeals to those he meets. The type that will do his best to help a friend no matter what length he has to go to, and the same can be said about most strangers he meets as well. Calling him selfless would be putting it lightly, as he just has a bad habit of helping anyone he bumps into who is in even the slightest bit of trouble whether they want to be helped or not.

Or at least most of the time that's the case. Since while Hayate is without a doubt a sweet, caring and innocent young man... He's just as much a cynical, harsh and cutting one. When he finds a turn of events troublesome, he'll say it outright. He has very little in the way of a mouth filter, which means he will often say exactly the wrong thing at just the right time. Frankly he's just far, far too honest with people and his opinions. It only gets made worse due to the fact his actions are just as direct, often going a bit too far in his efforts. Or just far enough, depending on who you ask. This is only exacerbated further by the fact that his direct honesty often helps him win over the hearts of girls he meets. Yet even when this happens, he misses all signs pointing to it. All hints given in his direction sail over his head like so many missed arrows. Text book love oblivious protagonist, through and through.

Still, whether he's being a sweetheart or a cynic, he'll always do his best to be polite. Hayate is a butler, a fact he takes great pride in, so he'll always do his best to be gentlemanly on first meetings. The longer you know him, or the better he knows you... the more likely you are to see that more snappy side of him.

Even with his Nice Guy personalty, he's far from perfect. Hayate suffers from a extreme and intense amount of bad luck. Not just 'normal' bad luck. This is the kind of bad luck that will haunt a man at every turn of his life. Anything that can go horribly wrong, more often than not will go horrendously wrong. Hayate is very self-aware of this fact. At times he likens himself to a god of misfortune when the circumstances pile up against him relentlessly. In particular, any matter involving money is heavily influenced by this, as demonstrated by the fact he has a humongous 156 million yen debt left to him by his parents at the start of the series.

Which is another issue. Hayate has some rather extreme issues when it comes to parents. His are the worst. They're cheaters, liars, scam artists and basically had him be the one who did all the work to bring money into their already poor household from the ripe age of seven. As such, he has some very strong feelings regarding such topics. In fact Hayate can just plain old swing into bouts of depression at the drop of a hat due to his upbringing and it giving him very little sense of self-worth. Luckily, given his character as a whole, he swings back out of these rather quickly.

Yet for the most part, Hayate is a cheerful, friendly butler who wants nothing more than to serve his lovely young lady. Even if that involves lots of dramatic battles, breaking the fourth wall, getting hit by cars, fighting robots, crossdressing and being completely oblivious to the fact multiple girls have feelings for him. The standard for a manga lead, really.

Abilities:
Hayate doesn't have any special powers.

He does, however, have a alarmingly strong body for someone of his build. He's trained his body since he was six years old, and he works out every night to keep in good shape. So while he might perform some ridiculous feats of strength, it's all from his own effort. The craziest things he can do largely involve taking punishment and dishing it out. For example: He gets comically hit by cars multiple times over the series and comes out from it largely unscathed without a bunch of broken bones, just bruises and possibly passing out. That doesn't mean he can't get hurt though, he often suffers head trauma and gets beat up fairly often. He'll just bounce back faster than most.

Hayate is also incredibly talented when it comes to working. Having done essentially every form of part-time job that exists, along with a few that likely don't, he has a natural talent for picking up work and jobs in a snap. Also due to this, along with some young-age-butlering... Hayate just has a all around natural talent for a laundry list of day-to-day or obscure activities. ... basically he's just really talented and hard working enough that it seems unnatural at times.

Other: He looks very cute in a skirt??

First Person:
Hello there, fellow residents!

*Hayate gives a polite wave and smile, looking about as pleasant as a kidnapped person possibly can.* This is without a doubt the most polite kidnapping I've ever been involved in... Usually this kind of situations involve a lot more screaming, rope or gags and bags...

It's a refreshing yet all the same unsettling change of pace to find that kidnappers have turned to such polite and generous methods. I kind of feel like I'm being forced to take part in a reality show, rather than whisked away from home to some strange community... Or a video game. All of those colored keys... It feels like the start of some long, drawn out exploration puzzle. Thankfully they don't all belong to a mansion, or this might wind up being some kind of zombie apocalypse scenario.

... oh. Sorry, I'm rambling a bit! Anyway... um... I might be new here, and I might have a really big reason to want to go home... But for now, I hope I can get along with everyone! ... or at least some of you. Saying everyone on my first day here is kind of asking for the impossible, eheh...

Third Person:

This really wasn't how Hayate wanted to be spending his Sunday afternoon. It was all luck of the draw, or so he was told, yet how he wound up being the only person who could actually cook anything beyond heating things up in the oven or microwave... It seemed like karma, or perhaps just his usual bit of luck with a dash of destiny.

Which is why as he wandered the grocery store, basket full of various foodstuffs for tonight's dinner he couldn't help but let out a sigh as he began thinking about it. Did he need to make some sort of investment in teaching his own "parents" how to cook? It was depressingly similar to his situation with his real ones, yet even then, his mother could at least cook. Why anything his nice-yet-disastrous mother put in the oven somehow came out looking poisonous was a mystery for the ages. Or at the very least one he didn't want to delve too deep to solve.

Still, as a butler... even one who was missing his Mistress... he had no choice but to take up the reigns dropped at his feet and steer this horse back toward the road! Hayate wouldn't let his new household fall into malnourished disarray as long as he drew breath! He might not be used to eating that well himself, yet he couldn't let the whole house suffer from his own willingness to eat on a budget!

With that thought in mind, the butler nodded firmly. There would be more time for despair later on. Well, no... Hayate would actually prefer it if there wasn't time set aside for that. If he meets a small white rabbit like creature asking for a contract, he would immediately turn away from it. He knows how that story ends already. Instead, he would make sure the story of tonight's dinner just didn't involve the kitchen exploding. One step at a time, Hayate. One step at a time.

Age: 19 (physically/emotionally, actually a few centuries old)
Canon: Axis Powers Hetalia
Canon Point: 2013
Species: Nation
Gender: Man
Orientation: Bisexual

History: At about the time that the European nations were discovering the New World, tiny baby America appeared out of nowhere on the North American continent. I view baby America as a personification of the potential for a European settlement; he has nothing to do with the nations who were already living on the continent. In the comic, the European powers were all eager to adopt him as their little brother, and began to fight over him. The fight came down to between France and England. While France impressed baby America with his culture and cooking, America wound up choosing England. England adopted him and raised him from that point on. This roughly aligns with the struggle to create colonies in North America; while many different nations founded colonies, most of these eventually became part of the British American colonies or were extremely sparsely settled at a time when the British colonies were growing and expanding rapidly.

As the empire he belonged to, England was a caring but distant guardian; since America lived on the other side of the world, he was left alone for long periods of time, and he seems to have aged into a young adult more quickly than other nations did. When he was little, he adored England, and missed him badly while he was away. They had a relationship that is depicted as happy and close, with America pretending to like his cooking and crying when England has to leave. But as he became a teenager, America had more of an independent streak and liked to do things his way. When one day England came back and he had grown up even taller than his guardian, there began to be tension in their relationship.

Hetalia doesn't cover the pre-revolutionary period, but I see America's massive growth spurt having taken place following the end of the French and Indian wars; without French rivalry on the continent, he was able to grow strong and independent enough to resent that England not only treated him like a child, but was beginning to treat him even more like a child by imposing new taxes, enforcing trade rules he had never been concerned with before, and preventing his further westward expansion. This led to a period of teenage rebellion marked by protests and demands for equal representation. While, historically speaking, most of what England was doing wasn't a big deal (the taxes were not particularly high, and England was simply no longer allowing the Americans to openly flout trade restrictions), this period involved a lot of feeling that the colonies did not need British protection at the cost of British demands. This is America's restlessness and independent spirit resisting control in general. The colonies themselves were very divided both culturally and on the subject of the protests, but gradually unity and anti-British sentiment was forming.

After the Boston Tea Party, England began to crack down on the protests and responded (in America's opinion) really harshly. This kicked off the truly revolutionary period, which eventually led to America going to war with England and breaking off ties. The war was very long and difficult, particularly as America was completely untrained and going up against a great power. While at first he was unsure if this was an anti-tax rebellion or actually a war for independence, the latter view won out and independence was declared. America received battle training from Prussia and won enough battles against England for France to decide to help him. Finally, America defeats England. Hetalia depicts America's independence won when England surrenders to him, letting him go instead of trying to shoot him. America's feelings towards England at this point are anger and betrayal, enough to renounce him completely as his brother, but when England surrenders, he sees him as more human, who makes mistakes and is sort of a sad person.

The period of America's history between the revolution and WWII is barely covered in Hetalia! This is largely because America was really isolated from the rest of the world during this time. Canon shows us America present in the opening of Japan (he shows up at Japan's house and tries to make friends with him), and fostering Lithuania and becoming friends with him during the years between WWI and the Great Depression, but not very much else. However, I will go into it a little.

So during this period, America was trying to form a country, which was a long process even after he moved past the Articles of Confederacy and had a constitution written to become the United States of America. His early years were unstable and many of the former colonies, now states, were divided. Although his first president warned him to avoid the insane mess that was Europe, he got dragged into the Napoleonic wars when both England and France were interfering with his ships. He eventually went to war against England and Canada and got his ass handed to him, learning the valuable lesson that driving a great power out of your house and winning a war against a great power are two different things entirely. However, the war helped unify him and solidify his identity as a nation.

As a young country, he was very idealistic and determined to prove himself as fundamentally different from Europe in anti-imperial anti-monarchical values, but just as capable of becoming powerful. He fell far short of the former goal, but did achieve the latter. Although at first he admired and liked France, he eventually came around to feeling that all of Europe was a mess he wanted nothing to do with, and did his own thing for a long time. His own thing was mostly exploring, buying new territory, exploring that, fighting wars for new territory, exploring that, and settling. He was a big believer that he had a great destiny to control his continent and become a great power.

However, the expansion mania mainly just pushed his already existing internal tensions out of control over the issue of slavery, since slavery had been continually pushed aside as an issue for national debate, but was appearing again in the question of the legal status of slavery in new states and territories. This wound up leading to a civil war. It's not clear how civil war works in Hetalia terms, but I just picture it as a really confusing time where he was metaphorically and literally torn apart, and he doesn't really talk about it so more specifics than that don't matter.

But after the civil war, he changed; he was less expansionist and instead began settling, developing, and industrializing what land he had. Although he was still very isolated, he grew into an industrial power that couldn't be ignored. He gradually became less isolated, fighting a few wars in his hemisphere, expanding his influence into Latin America and the Pacific, and starting to be on speaking terms with Europe again.

In World War I, he did the one thing he'd sworn he'd never do, and got involved in one of Europe's periodic ugly wars. He did so partially thinking that when it was over, Europe would respect him and listen to him and do what he said, but he underestimated how much everyone in Europe hated one another and wouldn't care about his boss's cool ideas. In Europe, he was unable to get his allies from the war to agree with him or his boss on strategies for post-war Europe, and at home he was unable to ratify what little had been agreed to because of the general sense that the war had been pointless and isolation was better. He retreated right back into isolation and even more stubbornly tried to ignore the rest of the world, quit drinking for a while, and then had a Depression.

Around this time, Germany and Japan both started building up; Japan was the more immediate threat, as he was becoming America's rival for naval domination in the Pacific, but Germany was becoming worrisome in Europe. America pretty much just flatly ignored both of them, aside from passive aggressively embargoing Japan. Germany managed to take over most of Europe, and America did get involved to the extent of helping by sending money and supplies to England, but due to his deep conviction that Europe is a continent of jerks, didn't do much else. Unlike the First World War where he was unsure who even to support, by this point while plenty of people did support Germany, public opinion was generally more in favor of England. However, isolationism meant not wanting to be involved. Once Japan attacked him at Pearl Harbor, however, his isolation effectively ended, and he went to war against Japan and Germany.

And this is where Hetalia canon picks up, but Hetalia is mostly the Axis Powers running around being dweebs and the Allies running around arguing with each other. America was particularly involved in the Pacific theater, but prior to the defeat of Germany, a lot of emphasis was on supporting England and Russia in Europe, and most of the WWII strips depict America as very involved in the war in Europe and fighting alongside England. At this point, the Blitz had ended and Russia therefore was actually doing most of the fighting against Germany; England and America were trying to control the Mediterranean and invade Italy, and eventually also invaded France. When Germany fell, the western and eastern fronts met, which became extremely important for the fate of post-war Europe as it was Russia who had liberated eastern europe and eastern Germany. America continued to fight Japan in the Pacific after Germany fell, until Japan also surrendered.

America hoped to rebuild both with democracy, working together with his Allies as the unstoppable super team the Big Five and the United Nations. This didn't work, because everyone's goals were completely incompatible with one another. Although during the war America wasn't on bad terms with Russia, and in fact got along with him and China better than he did with England and France for the most part, after the war he started to see Russia and communism as a threat. This led to most of the rest of the century being a passive aggressive Cold War with Russia; he saw Russia as an evil villain who wanted to take over the world, and only he could stop him. Although they still had personality clashes frequently, his alliances with Western Europe became more permanent out of necessity and his involvement with the rest of the world increased; not only was he unable to go back to isolation, but he wound up being militarily or financially involved to great extents in many countries in the world because of fear of communism.

Eventually, the Soviet Union collapsed, and he was on better, although still passive aggressive and distrusting, terms with Russia. He was left the only super power, and everyone was subjected to McDonalds and Coca-Cola and Hollywood and he could do whatever he wanted. History was now over, and they all lived happily ever after.

That was a good 20 years ago from his now canon point, and nothing has turned out so simply. The world is still complicated, he has a terrorism problem, and he's become involved in costly foreign conflicts again. For a while, he was on pretty terrible terms with nearly every country in the world. That's improving, but his economy has taken a dive and it's only getting back on track slowly. Now he has to deal with competition from China and an endless amount of domestic problems, so it's all very frustrating.

[personal profile] asapplepie 2013-06-02 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Appearance:

He is tall (official height is apparently 5'9" but this makes no sense as he's one of the tallest characters; I'd put it more at 6'5") and also really broad-shouldered and built big. He has messy blonde hair and blue eyes. He has an ahoge that represents Nantucket, and wears glasses that represent Texas. He usually wears an airforce style bomber jacket with patches on it. He's usually shown as pretty muscular but he's just a little pudgy around the middle. He is cute and baby-faced.

Personality: Alfred is a cheerful, excitable and idealistic kid, who is for the most part as dumb as a bag of bricks. He represents the spirit of the American people, so he is loyal and devoted to both American values and his own government. He's allowed to pick his own bosses and allowed to be critical of them, but while he values both, he tends to be lazy when it comes to questioning anything inconvenient to him. He believes he's a good person and a good guy, but he also doesn't challenge much about what he's told and prefers to shrug off all criticism rather than think about it. Mostly, he just wants to do whatever he feels like doing, feel good about himself, and not care about anything or anyone else.

Alfred lives for truth, justice, and the American way. He will go on and on about how great democracy is, how baseball is the best sport ever invented, how everyone would just stop having wars if they stopped being evil, and how he's the greatest and best and most awesome country on the history of earth. And the thing is? He (mostly) uncynically believes all this stuff. Although he's generally extremely friendly and nice, he's arrogant to the extreme. He almost never thinks of anyone besides himself even when he thinks he's thinking of someone else. For the most part, he hasn't even heard of the majority of other countries, and the only 'world map' he possesses is one of the United States and maybe Mexico and Canada if he's feeling generous. So even though he doesn't mean to, and for the most part tries to get along with people, his selfishness and self-centeredness can be extremely off-putting, and he's frequently disliked.

Although he's extremely independent/isolationist by nature, and doesn't like to rely on or be controlled by anyone else, he has a big hero complex. When he goes to war or gets involved in international politics, he's always able to convince himself he's playing the role of the hero, no matter what the circumstances causing him to be involved. The flip side of this is, he's able to convince himself that the other guys are the worst bad guys in the world. During WWII, Germany, Italy, and Japan were the evilest people in the world, and Russia one of his best friends. But even a decade later, Germany and Japan were two of his best buds, and Russia was the greatest evil to ever live. He doesn't see any contradiction there; as far as he's concerned, he taught Germany, Italy, and Japan to be good guys, whereas Russia was just secretly evil all along and tried to trick him but he totally didn't fall for it.

This can be a good quality; as long as his enmity with someone wasn't person, he's able to forgive easily and get back on good terms. Although he's held long grudges in the past (his relationship with England throughout the 19th century was basically that), he's not naturally a grudge-holding country. The grudges he does have are usually more finding someone really really obnoxious for disliking him (i.e. all the ridiculousness over France for France's criticism of the Iraq war) rather than out and out hatred.

Although he resists going to war and doesn't want to if it isn't for a good reason, it's pretty easy to convince him that getting involved in a conflict would be right and heroic, so it winds up not mattering and he will insist he's in the right most of the time no matter what. He has very strong anti-imperialist values, but he doesn't always live up to them in practice. It also means that when other countries resent his attitude or criticize his decisions, he gets really annoyed about it, because in his opinion he is in the right and they just don't "get" it, and his attitude rubs a lot of countries the wrong way. For this reason, he doesn't really have many friends.

But he really has no idea why people would ever dislike him, because he's both very confident and can't read the atmosphere at all. Even people he bickers with a lot, like England, or whose nerves he clearly gets on, like Japan, he would count as good friends. After all, he thinks he's great, so why would anyone else think otherwise? Even Russia is just jealous. He seems very very oblivious to people's opinions and, well, pretty much everything that doesn't fall into what immediately interests him. Deep down, he knows a lot of people dislike him, but he's not totally sure which ones do, and he doesn't really want to know if countries he considers his friends actually like him back or not. Part of him is a little lonely, but that isolationist tendency and his extreme inability to show consideration for others will always get in the way of him having many friends.

But he's not such a bad guy! Since he doesn't know how many people dislike him, he's actually really friendly and carefree with just about everyone. He's an incredible optimist, and even though he makes mistakes, he really does believe in doing the right thing and democratic ideals and whatnot, and when he gets things right, he can do a lot of good. When you get along with him, he's goofy and sort of dorky, but sweet and sincere. If you tend to be someone who challenges him or disagrees with him, he's more likely to pout or act sullen and passive aggressive about it. If he actually dislikes you, he'll challenge you as though you're evil and be an enormous pain. Just in general, though, he's often super obnoxious and inconsiderate and pretty much a douchebag, even if he isn't trying to be. He's the kind of person who will be being totally friendly and start insulting you by accident, because he's too self-absorbed to notice he's being rude.

Additionally, he loves burgers and other fast food, sodas, baseball and football, coffee, comic books, movies and other American pop culture. He's especially into superheroes, action, and pulp fiction style adventure genres. He's surprisingly good at science and invention, but he often wastes those smarts by inventing really stupid things. He'd rather work on something stupid like a mind control ray or a robot double or a rocket ship than spend his time on developing something useful and possible, but when he sets to work, he can achieve surprising results sometimes. He hates terrorism and even though the cold war is over, he still hates communism and socialism, but he doesn't have a really good grasp on any of the actual specific ideologies his enemies have beyond "they hate me for my freedom." He also really dislikes monarchies and colonialism, leftover from his Revolutionary days, and would be very offended if anyone insinuated he had imperialist attitudes. He hates tea for the same reason. If he's interested in something, he's usually smart about it, informed, and good at it. But unfortunately, most of the things that would be most beneficial for him to be good at kind of bore him, like diplomacy and meetings and sensible solutions to problems.

When he cares about something (either because he likes it, or because he hates it), he's really excitable and loud and passionate about his opinions, and he tends to go through life acting like he's in a movie starring him, and the genre is action. He's always living like he's expecting a helicopter explosion is an inevitability.

Abilities: Nation!! The standard nation abilities apply. America in particular has really notable super strength and has had it since he was a baby. Not clear exactly what his limits are, but as a baby he could a bison farther than a regular human could toss a baseball, so pretty darn strong.

America is really skilled with technology, especially computers! His technological ability is not such that it goes beyond 2013, and there are nations with better skills than his, but he's pretty handy. He's also good with cars/engines/just about anything manufactured.

He is good with guns, both in terms of actually being accurate and proficient in a weapon and also in knowing fancy-looking sharpshooting tricks.

Other:

Someone else has the reserve for him, so this is just me making note of that! I spoke to a mod before posting, and if that person posts their app, I understand mine won't be accepted!

First Person: Entry + comments from previous game

Third Person: It had been hours now, and America was still having problems with the browser. There was barely a point to having a computer if he couldn't get online, let alone reach Facebook. But it wouldn't be very heroic to give up, even if he was, contrary to the impression he'd been under for the past four hours, beginning to realize that this was not in fact another hacking attempt from China. He didn't want to admit it, but things were starting to get dire. He could be missing vital communications, or someone could be tagging him with embarrassing pictures, or there could be a new viral video dance craze sensation that will be completely played out by the time he reaches it. And yet, if the internet is broken and even he can't fix it, there's likely a more sinister explanation at hand, and he's only now beginning to understand it.

This is the stupidest alien abduction he has ever been involved in, even worse than that time he just woke up in his own bed with a vague recollection of bright lights and not even a crop circle or two to help along his story. What is the point of kidnapping him if he's just going to be trapped in a town he could probably find just about anywhere back in his house? It's obviously some kind of experiment of the kind Tony and his friends are so fond of, but to what purpose? An example of how quickly he'll get frustrated when there's nothing good on TV? Some kind of elaborate practical joke? Are there cameras watching him in secret right now, waiting for him to crack?

America sighs and drums his fingers on the desk impatiently. He doesn't have a problem being frequently experimented on by extraterrestrials, but they could be a little more considerate about it and give him advance warning to program his DVR.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Ritsuka Aoyagi.
Age: 12.
Canon: LOVELESS.
Canon Point: Chapter 100.
Species: Human! In his canon, everyone is born with a pair of cat ears and a tail, which are lost when you lose your virginity. It was mentioned in some Q&A stuff for the game that characters would come in looking as human as possible, so these features would be missing upon his arrival (much to his shock ksdjhg).
Gender: Male.
Orientation: Sort of irrelevant because he's nowhere near being 18!

History: The Loveless Wiki and Ritsuka's Wiki Page.
Appearance: Ritsuka stands at about 148 cm (4'10~4'11) and weighs roughly around 31 kg (~70 lbs). Kid is kind of small and skinny, with many of his peers being at least a little taller than him! Except Yayoi. His hair is black and eyes are a light blue/purple. His bangs sweep across his face, and his hair hangs in almost a shaggy fashion, with different length pieces hanging every which way. It's often commented that while physically he's cute, his expression and the way he carries himself doesn't seem very cute at all, especially since he doesn't often smile.
Personality: Ritsuka is a complex kid who has gone through a lot of shit. He's suffered abuse at the hands of his own mother and seen some pretty traumatizing things - finding your brother's burned corpse in your chair at school does not make for happy memories. He's witnessed adults turn a blind eye to signs that obviously point at children needing help, he's learned to pretend to be someone he's not (the 'Ritsuka' he was before his memory loss) in order to placate his sick mother, and he deals with strange people coming out of the woodwork and into his life. For a kid of 12 who only remembers the past two to three years of his life due to amnesia, most of that time has been spent in a constant state of caution and cynicism.

At the start of the series Ritsuka is cold and unapproachable. He speaks to adults with a stiff, fake politeness and separates himself from his peers with both his body language and poor attitude. He thinks that life is boring, and he wishes that it could be over already. After all, the only person who made him happy (his older brother) was supposedly dead - murdered. Yuiko, a girl in his class, is the only one who tries to get to know Ritsuka on his first day in his new class. At first she says it's because all the other children told her to get to know him, which he finds stupid and brushes her off. She cries and he doesn't care. She keeps at it though and eventually admits it's really because she believes that you should be nice to new kids in school - which gets a smile from Ritsuka and a teensy bit of a crack in his disinterested persona. In a short time, we find out that Ritsuka isn't as cold or mean as he originally comes off as. There's actually quite a lot going on underneath the surface, conflicting emotions and mood whiplash galore. Cracking the cooler outer shell isn't difficult once a sensitive issue is probed, either intentionally or unintentionally. Once people begin to get to know him and once he becomes more comfortable he's not nearly as harsh, even when correcting or disagreeing with them. As the series progresses Yuiko and Ritsuka become best friends, with Ritsuka giving her the confidence to be her own person (which is, interestingly, something he tries to subvert himself when he's with his mother) and Yuiko keeps Ritsuka grounded and reminds him that he's still just a kid. He likes taking pictures (something he calls "making memories") and playing games, going on the computer and reading books... all traits that make him far more endearing and show how he's really still a kid the more you learn about them.

Despite how young he is Ritsuka approaches most things with maturity and intelligence. Because of the way he was treated by his mother and the sudden death of his older brother, he lacks innocence about the world and how people can really be. He's is, however, naïve about relationships - how healthy functional relationships work, and especially sex. Love itself is something of a taboo subject for Ritsuka. He dislikes it when someone says they like him or try to show him affection because it makes him feel uncomfortable - which most likely can be pinned on the fact that he doesn't really know how to express himself when it comes to positive emotions like love and friendship. For a kid who has all the words about his beliefs and opinions and dislikes, when it comes to expressing his happiness, he has difficulty. He ends up bottling up and keeping the feelings internal. ... He's working on that though! In general, Ritsuka's moods can flick back and forth like a light switch. He's very easy to goad and get a reaction out of when his defenses are down, being the emotional and opinionated person that he is. Getting him mad really isn't difficult! He has a bit of a temper, and in a side story it's noted that he's notorious for kicking chairs at times. He even flips a desk early on in canon when he finds out Yuiko is being bullied! At one point in the series he goes from being happy to sad to mad to annoyed in the same scene. When he's neutral and calm, he's generally very straight to the point and honest about what he says, having no problems expressing how he really feels about something - usually a "That's weird" or "That's stupid." It's important to note though that he doesn't say those things with malice, in more of an observational way! They can even be said in a fond way.

Ritsuka holds his beliefs very strongly and he's usually stubborn about a view once he's taken it. If he chooses to believe someone he'll believe them despite his better judgment. Even his love of his brother, despite having been shown by several people that he's basically a crazy murderer who betrayed him, doesn't fade after he finds out the various sides of him he didn't know. It's often said that while Seimei (his brother) and Ritsuka look similar, they're as different as night and day when you take their personalities into account. Seimei is sneaky and manipulative while Ritsuka is open and straight-forward. Ritsuka seeks the truth and Seimei hides it. Ritsuka values his relationships and Seimei gives no shits about people. I can go on and on, but I won't make you snore than you might have already! Moving on.

Ritsuka also tends to be a walking contradiction, especially with the things he says and the things he does. Early on in the series he loudly proclaims a dislike of people who are stupid and let others use them, that he hates liars and lies in general, that smokers are gross - but he ends up being used by Seimei, tells more than his share of lies, and seems to generally overlook the fact that Soubi smokes despite disliking it. To put it simply, he's a bit of a hypocrite! Often his beliefs and actions are at odds with one another, showing something of a "ends justify the means" attitude about some things - but one thing he's adamant about is not hurting anyone else. He calls himself a pacifist, but interestingly, not for moral reasons like you might expect from a kid like him. He's a pacifist because the abuse his mother inflicts on him disgusts him, and he can't make himself do that to someone else - it's not about not wanting to hurt another being. He even lets Soubi do the dirty work for him when it comes to fights - Soubi fights, and Ritsuka knows he has to let him to get what he wants. Again, ends justify the means, to an extent. When he wants something he's extremely driven and willing to go to extremes - which you might not expect from his usual mature and logical way of viewing things. He's skipped school, stayed out past curfew, gotten entangled in some stuff that he probably shouldn't have... he's not always a good kid! This part of him ties into the more emotional and impulsive side that he has trouble with. And, of course, he's also still just a kid (his emotional and impulsive side is probably largely due to him being a kid) - he's prone to his little tantrums and childish behavior despite his usual maturity.

There's also a very loyal and sweet side to Ritsuka, once you've become a friend (or at least a positive force) in his mind. The people who he gets to know are very important to him and often get glimpses of a sillier and more charismatic side - laughter and smiles, jokes, teasing, pep talks, advice, book recommendations, etc. He also tends to be a worry-wart about those he cares about, despite not much taking care of himself. His little quirks and weird behavior are much more obvious when he's become friendly with someone, where strangers usually either get the polite or mature/serious side. His likes and dislikes come out, and they're pretty weird! He likes to chew mushy things because they're easy to chew, he likes sweets and dislikes bitter tastes, and if he could he'd eat fast food all the time. Weird kid stuff!

Overwhelmingly, Ritsuka is a child that is starved for affection and love. He deals with his abusive mother because he loves her, he pushes his love onto her despite it coming back to hit him in the face because he doesn't want to let her go - she's all he has at one point. Even when Seimei's behavior comes to light Ritsuka is unwilling to hate his brother, claiming he still loves him despite the horrible things he's allegedly done. Love makes people stupid and in Ritsuka's case he's so desperate for it he willingly chooses to close up and ignore what's normally a pretty mature and logical thought process.

Ritsuka's interesting in that his character changes with those he interacts with - the positive and the negative influences in his life very much affect him in how he acts and how he grows. He essentially starts off as a blank slate, coming into the series being kind of an ass, and evolves as he creates relationships. The things people say that touch him, and the truths he learns from them, the things they do that move him. From the point I'll be taking him from he'll have had a good amount of this, and be in the midst of growing as a person. He's recently learned that his opinions and beliefs aren't always right, even people who he had a previous poor opinion are still just people, and that believing in someone or something 100% may not be the way to go about things. He'll not be super prickly like in the beginning of the series because he's made some relationships that have both calmed him down, but he won't be super friendly with anyone either due to the fact that while he has no problems talking to people he's not a social butterfly who befriends anyone after a single conversation.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Stiles Stilinski
Age: 16
Canon: Teen Wolf (TV Series)
Canon Point: Post S2 (2x12)
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Orientation: Baby's not quite over 18 yet, but I figured I might as well fill it out anyway. Stiles doesn't straight out say "I'm bisexual" or anything, but he spends an entire episode asking "am I attractive to gay guys?", sulking over his best friend Straight as an Arrow Scott McCall getting a free drink at a gay bar, joking about making out with said best friend, and so on, and so forth...so, it's a little ambiguous, but it's portrayed that way on purpose.

History: @ the wiki.
Appearance:

♦ Buzzcut, six feet of limbs, 147 pounds of flesh and fragile bones, ridiculously huge brown eyes, an unfairly pretty mouth, a turned up nose, and a hella expressive face are Stiles' main trademarks--that, and the moles that cover his face, neck, and shoulders.
Personality:

Stiles Stilinski is kind of like his car. Where two of his friends drive a Porsche and a Camaro, Stiles drives a beat up, vintage blue jeep.

Quirky to put it nicely, a weird loser otherwise, Stiles is sixteen years old and 140 pounds of sheer sarcasm, the human companion (not sidekick, thank you) to his werewolf best friend and his merry band of lunatics, and more or less the brains of the operation. Aside from his unique furry companions and the trouble they get him into, he’s your typical teenager—-generally cheerful, nerdy as anything, and with an attention span the size of a gnat’s. Stiles is more than he seems, however. Behind his clumsy, awkward, benchwarmer exterior lies an incredibly quick mind and a natural gift for solving puzzles and finding answers. Once he finds something that interests him, Stiles will research it to death, sucking up every bit of information that comes along with it like a sponge. He put together the clues to reveal that all of the murders in Beacon Hills had to do with an arson six years in the past before the people involved, and most of the time, he’s two steps ahead of everyone else in how they think—-if people ignore him, it usually turns out that he was right all along. His methods of extraction aren’t always normal (getting his father drunk to get him to spill information about a case, for example), but they’re effective—=one part quick thinking and two parts Stilinski stubbornness does the trick. Despite the fact that Stiles is one of three humans, and certainly the only one with zero apparent supernatural powers or otherwise offensive talents, in his group, Scott would probably be dead without him. He’s a Hyper-Competent Sidekick, so much so that Derek occasionally borrows him for the same purpose.

The creepy crawlies in his life make Stiles jumpy and hypervigilant often, however, and he’s known to jump at just about anything that startles him, occasionally complete with girly very manly screaming. And while when it comes to heroics, Stiles is always the Robin, when someone needs a hero in a clutch, he can come through, although he second guesses this ability and downplays it. He’s brave, despite being a bit of a scaredy cat; while Stiles can be scared of a million different things, he’s almost never intimidated. Stiles will stand up to every monster that walks in front of him, including nearly running his jeep into a lizard monster to cause a distraction. More than anything in his life, Stiles runs on a basal need to protect the people he loves, but when you're surrounded by creatures of the supernatural and you're just a regular human, that can be hard. He struggles with feeling useless in his circle, and in one instance, he has to watch his dad get socked in the face while there's absolutely nothing he can do about it. This need to protect probably comes from his cop father, to be honest, and Stiles does literally whatever he can to stand up to anything that tries to attack his friends or family, be it a monster or just a megalomaniac grandfather. ”Standing up”, however, often includes a comment or six from his smart mouth; one of the consequences of his razor sharp wit is a bitingly sarcastic backlash that tends to hit in all the right (or really, all the wrong) places. He can be callous—in fact, he’s really not always that nice of a guy, particularly when it’s his emotions pushing his mouth to speak.

However, when it comes to being a friend, Stiles is one of the better ones. His loyalty is fierce and strong to his best friend, Scott, and he’d do literally anything to help him—as of right now, he’s one of exactly two people who know his secret. As a lifelong loser, he has a very small, tight knit group of people that are literally his world, and it’s only recently started growing. On the one hand there’s his family; Stiles lost his mother sometime in 2011, and the grief of that tightened the bond that he has to his dad greatly. Stiles and his father are extremely close, despite displaying your typical father and teenage son behavior—he denies the werewolf bite because he knows his father needs him. Stiles makes sure that his father watches what he eats to stay healthy, and Sheriff Stilinski does his best to keep Stiles safe. Beyond his father is Scott, his best (and as implied) only friend; the two of them are more or less joined at the hip, and Stiles barely even flinches when he learns about Scott’s becoming a werewolf. Nothing changes between them, and if nothing, Stiles takes on the opportunity to research and help Scott with his problems, furry or not. It’s actions like chaining him up for the full moon, or letting the girl he loved go find the boy she loved when he’d finally gotten a date with her (hint: that boy was not, and will never be, him) that show Stiles’ incredible care for those around him, no matter what they do.

Stiles loves to talk, though. In fact, once Stiles starts talking, he keeps talking. And talking. And talking. He has something to say about everything and it tends to get him in trouble, considering he can’t seem to turn on his brain to mouth filter during life threatening situations. His natural curiosity leads him to have a practical inbred resistance to the word “no”, and chances are if you specifically ask him not to do something, he’ll turn around and do it, unless you’ve managed to frighten him. (And even then.) He acts without thinking often, part of his Word of God diagnosed ADHD, and he’s impulsive enough to do things that benefit him, such as making a copy of a key to Scott’s house, without really thinking about why they could be wrong. (To Scott’s mother’s credit, she wasn’t surprised at all.) Sometime during the last year he was plagued with awful panic attacks, brought on by his mother’s death—it’s a quiet fact that he blames himself for her death, although it’s not clear exactly how she died yet. He’s self deprecating and overly happy when things go his way, because it doesn’t happen often; when it does, he usually celebrates, and occasionally doesn’t even know what to do with himself until his brain can connect with the actual fact of it.

The most important fact of all, however, is that Stiles is sixteen, and he acts like it. His emotional decisions can be rash, he has a gigantic crush on a girl that makes him follow her around like a puppy even as she continues to stomp on his heart, and sometimes his decisions are prioritized based on what feels the most important to his teenage brain. But ultimately, what makes Stiles so useful indeed (despite what he might think) is his quick mind, his willingness to go the distance for the people he loves, and his big heart.

Abilities: See, the thing about Stiles is he's special in his lack of "special" qualities. He is extremely clever, and able to work his way through many incredibly difficult challenges. He's of average size--147 pounds of pale flesh and fragile bone--and not the world's fastest runner, although he's not half bad at it. His hyperfocus comes with a high price, but when he's able to focus, he can focus on something absolutely for a long period of time. He has fast reflexes from playing lacrosse, and is a very adept researcher. At sixteen, he's lived a supernatural warrior's life to say the least, and he adjusts really well to crazy situations.

Special powers wise, the only thing that comes to mind is his ability as a catalyst--his "spark". While we know little about it, we know that Stiles has some sort of either ability for magic, or an ability to conduct magic. It could be either at this point--it's something he's interested in learning about, but with the nightmare that the end of his season was, that can only happen in the future.

IC INFORMATION
Character’s Name: Ibuki Mioda
Age: 18 (for all intents and purposes; the characters are a few years older than the average Japanese first-year)
Canon: Dangan Ronpa (Super Dangan Ronpa 2)
Canon Point: End of Chapter 2
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Orientation: Ibuki’s orientation is not explicitly shown in canon; however, there are hints towards a possible affection for another male character, and there is an ending in the bonus game in which the male protagonist can begin a relationship with her. It seems her preference would lean towards men.

History: Major SDR2 spoilers ahead! Here's a wiki link to a complete summary of the game and a link to a vastly more condensed synopsis of the game on TVTropes.

With particular regards to Ibuki’s role in the story, she lends a hand in solving the first murder with her exceptional hearing and is murdered by Mikan relatively early in Chapter 3. Her actual history is not individually expounded upon; rather, it only extends back as far as the other students', so there is not much to specifically say for her in regards to her history.

Appearance: Here.
Personality:

(A minor note before I go on: there are two major ongoing translations of SDR2. I’ll be basing this app off of elements from both translations; however, any quotes or examples of Ibuki’s speech patterns are taken from Tumblr user kuzuhiko’s abridged translation.)

The first word that may come to mind when one thinks of Ibuki is “eccentric.” The way she visually presents herself, her speech mannerisms, her behaviors, and her general mindset are certainly unorthodox for a high school student, especially one admitted to such a prestigious institution as Hope’s Peak Academy.

Ibuki approaches everything and everyone with an unwavering sense of enthusiasm and excitability. She is easily worked up and her speech habits reflect this:

❝Uggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghuu….! Everything is teeming with mysteries!❞

Ibuki takes very little seriously, even in such a hostile environment as the Jabberwock Islands during the period of mutual killing among the students. She is rarely seen depressed or morose in any way, and it would seem that her cheerfulness is enough to propel her through such otherwise distressing times. However, she is still capable of reacting in a somewhat appropriately serious manner when truly unsettling events occur, such as when the students discover that their memories had been removed:

❝Ahaha…hah..hahahaha, haha….does that even make sense…Ibuki only just arrived in Hope’s Peak, and straight after that Ibuki was dragged to this island…❞

Ibuki’s social filter is slightly lacking, and she is prone to blurting out rude or inappropriate things. When one of her classmates, Mikan, trips and much of her lower body is left exposed, Ibuki goads the photographer of the group on to take a picture:

❝Uuhyohyohyohyohyo!! This kills the Ibuki…! Mahiru, this is your chance-!❞

Despite her often-times awkward remarks, Ibuki truly means well. A prominent example of this in canon is the fact that Ibuki genuinely respected her fellow student Togami despite his being mocked by other characters for his weight and general attitudes. She even goes so far as to comment that Togami would not have been the same wonderful person that he was if he had been thinner; that is, he was perfect just the way he was. This is generally reflective of Ibuki’s attitudes towards people as a whole -- disregarding the occasional careless remark, she accepts people for who they are, faults and all, without making any judgments.

A second example of this would the instance at the beginning of Chapter 3 in which Ibuki performs at a celebration for Kuzuryuu’s recovery from his injuries sustained during Peko’s execution. Ibuki happily allows Chiaki and Saionji to join her during this show. Kuzuryuu and Saionji are arguably two of the most abrasive characters in the game, with the former playing a role in another student’s murder albeit indirectly, yet Ibuki still readily associates with them and shows no true disgust or aversion for them as multiple other characters do.

Another prominent character of Ibuki’s is her pride in her individuality. She places great emphasis on her presentation and style and has no qualms about bragging about either.

❝Teehee, Ibuki has not only a good face, style and personality, but also her good hearing-!❞

She is aware of the fact that others might find her style irritating or alienating; however, she would much rather follow what she believes to be right for herself than what others say she should be. Ibuki is willing to take the risk of quitting her music club and pursuing a solo career if it means she will have the opportunity to explore her own creativity and ideas instead of catering towards talent scouts; she simply refuses to compromise herself for anyone else.

Ibuki is a character who hides nothing and stays true to herself no matter who she is around. Despite her undeniable moments of awkwardness, she treats everyone with the same degree of chirpiness and sincerity, no matter who they may be or how they act towards her. Above all, her upbeat demeanor should not be taken to mean that she does not approach her own identity and uniqueness with utmost seriousness.

Abilities: Ibuki was admitted to Hope’s Peak Academy as a Super High School Level Light Music Club Member whose record sold a million copies; with this in mind, it stands to reason that Ibuki’s musical abilities are outstanding (although considering her chosen genre of death metal, this could be considered subjective). As well, it is stated in the middle of Chapter 1’s investigation that Ibuki has exceptional hearing and is capable of picking up the fine details of whispered conversations and can easily distinguish between individuals’ voices.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Canada (alias: Matthew Williams)
Age: Formally 145 (Birthday: July 1, 1867; has been around for over 300 years) He looks to be 23.
Canon: Axis Powers Hetalia
Canon Point: Present day, 2013
Species: Country
Gender: Mentally and physically male
Orientation: Straight
Canada has not been in a situation where he's had to consider marrying another country, or having to have those kinds of relations for political reasons. He's quite familiar with the idea of same-sex relationships (one of his fathers is France, after all) and is open-minded, but he himself is more of a traditionalist and prefers women.

History:
A long time ago, Canada was an adventurous child. Tirelessly he would explore the wilds of the land about him, relishing in their bounty and beauty. Even then he was known for his kindness, quietness and hospitality. France and England were the two people most involved in his development at that time, fueling Canada's growth through colonization and trade. England eventually took possession of young Canada and introduced him to America, who grew bored of Canada just moments after meeting him. (Their relationship has been something like that ever since.)

The rivalry between France and England continued in the new world and revolution brewed not only in what was to become America, but cast a pallor of discontent upon Canada as well. The two young countries grew up very quickly, but in different ways. Where America fought a war to win his independence, Canada sought to peaceably settle his way through it.

After many years Canada finally came into his own as a country, albeit still under England's dominion. But Canada didn't mind it very much at all, and for a very long time thought of himself as primarily British. This was much to France's disappointment, but Canada still retains lots of French heritage and language. (And he inherited his silky hair, which helps France be one of the few that actually can recognize Canada.) To this day the tension between the English and French gives Canada angst in the form of Quebec versus 'everyone else'.

Finally Canada decided to start asserting himself as uniquely Canadian, but perhaps it was too late. All of the other nations forget about him easily and rarely notice him when he's in the room. When some do notice him, it's often because of a grudge that they are holding against America. When Canada can finally get the other person to realize that he's not America, Canada is very forgiving, except to promise himself that he'll tell his grievance to America next time... He rather resents taking the beats for his brother's carrying a big stick and antagonizing others so easily.

Nowadays he's been proud to be more prominent – ranking high in some world-wide surveys, hosting the last winter Olympics (which went rather well for him if he does say so himself), and generally being more present on the world stage. Whether or not the others notice these accomplishments, well, that's up to them.

Fly, Canada-san, Fly! Some comics showing Canada.

Appearance:
Canada is of a fairly average build and height at 177cm (or 5'9”) like his brother. Not having the strength of him, however, Canada's build is more slender. His hair is dark blond and the bangs are long, parted down the middle to either side of his face. One long and distinctive lock of hair curls out in the front. He has dark blue eyes and wears thin wire glasses. He always speaks in a soft, hushed tone, even when yelling.

In present day he likes to wear hoodies and jeans or a white dress shirt. In an attempt to assert his identity as Canada, his clothing sometimes sports the maple leaf. In meetings he wears a suit with a red tie.

[personal profile] maple_syrup_can 2013-06-03 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Canada is a very timid and sensitive guy. He dislikes fighting and has trouble asserting himself. These are double-edged traits. On one hand, the other nations find him kind and quite agreeable to deal with. On the other, the others will often forget he's even there to be dealt with. An encounter with England show this, in that while England had to be prompted by France to remember Canada's name, England was extremely apologetic and contrite to his 'dear boy' once he realized his mistake. Despite this, even after all this time, Canada is quite loyal to England.
Another consequence of his going unnoticed is that he patently and optimistically waits his turn to be called upon in meetings... however his patience is never rewarded and he is never called on.

Canada's patience is thankfully vast, but not limitless. This is best shown in his dealings with America. His brother is his neighbor and Canada tries very hard to get along with him. There are good times that happen, like getting advice or playing catch together. It just doesn't help that America can be thoughtlessly aggressive, brandishing a chainsaw or repeatedly hitting him with a baseball instead of going more slowly and letting him catch it...
Canada has been shown to finally snap at his brash brother and beat up on him, albeit weakly. On one level Canada is happy to have this kind of relationship, but sometimes it gets to be just too much and he gets serious about reaming America out.

Canada is known as one of the world's leisure spots, which is reflected in his laid-back and relaxed personality. In most situations Canada is very agreeable, going with the flow easily – particularly if the flow is directed by someone he's either wary or respectful of.

An unfortunate habit of his is to sleep in, to the extent that he has been late for important world meetings. He also tends to lose himself gazing at cute things, such as his polar bear Kumajirou's eyelashes... as in, he will lose his whole weekend this way. (So much for the house chores, but it was a nice way to spend the time.) He's also prone to say 'sorry' for just about anything.

Generally with Canada, what you see is pretty much what you get- he's not very good at lying or deception. However, there are a few deeper layers to him.

Underneath the soft and kind exterior is a long-suffering passive-aggressive. He often shows spurts of resolve, for example to tell America off or to get England to properly recognize him. He almost never quite gets up the will to say those things loudly, but being honest he does speak his mind often. He'll whisper tell America what's troubling him, but of course he's not listening. He'll tell Cuba to lay off because he's not America, but he can't get past his anger. So in the end he puts up with all sorts of indignities, but in his own small ways gets something in return from them later. This usually comes in the form of Canada getting generous gifts from the offending country, such as Cuba inviting Canada to vacation with him.
A little-shown trait of Canada's is that he's a wily tactician. While England and America were at war America ignored any letters from the other nation. Canada cleverly enclosed England's message in a box saying 'food inside', thus piquing America's interest in actually receiving it.

Hidden even deeper than his passive-aggression are wells of passionate emotions. In the negative, he once made America cry by bringing up every bad thing his brother ever did over the course of three hours. (Not just anyone can make the fiery America cry.) On the other hand, he can be a very passionate lover. For all that he was young at the time, he did pick up some things from being around France. These wells are hard to get to and do not last long, but one can see interesting things from Canada once they are tapped.

Finally, he has a weakness for is a lover of maple syrup and ice cream. What a sweet guy.

Abilities: Canada is naturally very unrecognizable or unnoticeable, like a ghostly presence. When he is recognized, he is frequently mistaken for his brother America.
He has a 'sixth-sense' for recognizing someone who is 'his', which is to say Canadian.
Being a Country he has more strength and stamina than the average human, although not to heroic levels. (Leave the heroics to America.) He can also run very fast when late for something important.

Other: Turning completely human will undoubtedly take away the 'ghost-likeness' quality of him, but I imagine he will still be unnoticeable...

SAMPLES
First Person:
Being a new arrival on the good ship Thor.

Third Person:
After reading all the paperwork twice, Canada stood in the middle of the sparse living room, arms crossed as he looked around slowly, a concerned look on his face. For a place that was supposed to be the epitome of happiness, they sure knew how to give him ten different kinds of anxiety. He was a country. He could not be away from home like this! And a wife? Marriage was a serious business, with all sorts of ramifications about the economy, territory, treaties...! How could someone else possibly choose for him? Well, he reflected after a moment of thought, he supposed his wife was going to be a human, but that was horrible in another way! How could he make a pledge like that to someone he would outlive? Would he have to hide the fact the he was a country? He didn't think he'd be able to keep up that deception for long, nor would he want to.

At a slight noise from outside he jumped, turning quickly to the front door. Could it be the rest of his newly-appointed family? After a moment nothing happened, so he sighed and turned back to looking at the room.

“What am I going to do, Kumamomo?”

But his plaintive query was not answered, as the little polar bear was not with him. Another reason for unhappiness. The bear was always good to talk to. With another sigh Canada quietly paced the room, turning the situation over in his mind. After some time his steps slowed to a stop as he came to a decision: he would just have to make the best of this for now. There would be other people here, as proved by his getting a family, so allies could be made as they sought answers. He mustn't be hasty to judge the situation based on the little he knew now. At some point they would find out the how and why of all this. But, for now, there was nothing for it but to go forward as best he could, despite the trepidation he felt...

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Kourin Shimizu
Age: early 40ies (?)
Canon: Nabari no Ou
Canon Point: about six years before the main events of the series start
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Orientation: Most likely heterosexual as she is married happily to a man, but since your question here is "Would your character be more comfortable with a wife, husband, or either?": She would be much more comfortable with a wife, considering that she is married happily and from a society where polyandry and cheating are big no-nos and homosexual marriages are basically unheard of - and she has a reputation to uphold that the stability of a whole clan depends upon. She would consider a wife a platonic house partner and not have any issues with it, while she would very strictly resent being given a husband.
On a mun-level, I would be okay with either as long as she isn't placed with a husband upon arrival.

History: Born from the Fuuma ninja village, Kourin became head of the samurai Shimizu family through beating her brother-in-law in the final fight of a tournament over the leadership, as it was costum with the Shimizu clan (I use the past tense here because, while in Kourin's time the clan still exists, it has been reduced to only one member at the time of the main story) who believed in "strength to rule". Her husband, Soumei, was also the heir of the family, and it seems that the circumstances under which they came together could have been right out of a teenage romance novel. Despite Soumei falling ill and his health slowly deteriorating over the years, they seem to enjoy a very happy married life.

Four years prior to the point that I will pull her from, she went to see her cousin Asahi Rokujo, who had tried to drop out of Nabari but failed as she was the host of the Shinranbanshou at that time. Kourin had asked her to keep updated on news from Nabari and seems to still keep an eye on her as well as worry about her wellbeing, and while they seem to not have seen each other for a while (she remarks on "Asahi having gotten a child in the meantime" and Miharu is 4, and it could be that they haven't met for even longer as Asahi replies "the same to you" which would make it 10 years (Raikou is 20 in the main story) - the easiness with which they interact kind of speaks against that, though) they clearly stayed in touch and are very dear to each other - she's the only one seen to use pet-names with Kourin. Now Kourin is among the extremely limited number of people who learns about Asahi's plans to seal and erase the Shinranbanshou, and the only one to not have a place in the actual act: Asahi decided that she didn't want to involve Kourin's children.

Upon hearing that Asahi only wanted her to discuss with them without requesting any actual help from either the Shimizu clan or the Fuuma village that they technically are affiliated with (history has changed originally simple relationships), Kourin takes her leave. Later, her brother-in-law and some other members of her family will complain to her and also behind her back that the Shimizu clan was so fiercely neutral about the Shinranbanshou at that time - though it's likely that nobody knew of her visit with Asahi nor had any reason to suspect, since Kourin is generally very firm on upholding neutrality inside the world of Nabari and not interfering at all with the world outside.

Over the coming years, the opposition to her leadership of neutrality grows stronger as more members of the clan wish to break the neutrality either to interfere in the surface world or take a side, or even their own side, in the world of Nabari. This fraction is lead and edged on by the aforementioned brother-in-law, Iroku; his motives aren't quite clear, as we only have Raikou's retelling of the following events and he was only fifteen and also heavily involved at that time, but events heavily suggest that Kourin's assessment of Iroku mostly opposing her because he wants to be the leader instead of her is correct. The issue seems to be a long-standing one, reaching back further than four years, and it will take another year to culminate in the events that lead to the end of the Shimizu clan.

A synopsis of those events can be found in Raikou's background. Note that it seems that Kourin seems to have expected the development of Iroku coming to her like this, but seems to have thought that Iroku wouldn't go as far as turning on his sickly brother or his nephew.

Appearance: Very tall (she's shown to be a head taller than all Japanese people that we see standing next to her, males included, and not much shorter than Thobari's mountain of a grandfather), with long, blond hair and a slender but muscular build. Her clothing style can be described as feminized versions of originally male clothes - formfitting pants when she tries to not draw attention in the surface world (though the success of her inconspicuous clothing can be debated - she dresses like a stereotypical film star), hakama and similar items of clothing at all other times.

Personality:

Kourin has two modes of operation.
✦ One she displays when being in bussiness-like situations: When she acts as a leader, when she is on a mission, when serious matters are discussed, when she needs to get a point across. This way of acting is more prominent in the manga, but only because it simply isn't a slice-of-life series so we see little day-to-day Kourin. From what is shown of her everyday life, she probably spends more time out of bussiness-mode than in it. This way of acting is characterized by her appearing collected and almost cold, to the point of being dismissive of opinions that she considers dumb, unsmiling (unless she feels that a grin will get her message across better) and moving measuredly - though not slowly - in actions and words.
✦ The other mode comes out when she interacts with her family (unless, of course, she needs to have a serious word with one of them or the situation calls for more gravity etc), friends or really, anyone in private or at least relaxed situations. It shows her as a woman who is quite open about her happiness and sadness, fears and delights, happiness and excitements. She isn't bubbly though, it could better be described as rambunctious. In this mode her caring and gentle side will show, which tends to be hidden under a layer of professionalism in the other mode.
She can switch between the two modes within moments.

Kourin is very much a family person. She seems to spend as much time with her husband and children as possible, despite her demanding job and position. To put it in a very modern way that she would probably not use, she has found a good work-life balance and manages to be a working mom who nevertheless is there for her children, even if only in the evenings. She does seem to have problems dealing with Raikou when he hits puberty, first attempting to deal with it like she would with a dissenting adult or with a troublesome student, and then starting to experiment, but that doesn't make her a bad mother - interestingly enough, Raikou seems to be acutely aware of her positive traits and of how much she cares about her family even in the middle of rebelling against her. Her trouble with Raikou mostly stem from her being a very big, strong personality with some strong principles that she will not deviate from for anyone, and while she will explain to him why she does things her way, and state that he should do them that way too, she won't meet him halfway. She cannot. If it was about more mundane topics, she would probably make amends easily - had he decided to dye his hair pink while she was still alive, there would have been discussions, but eventually she would even have supported him if the school demanded that he change it back. But those principles, she is hard as a wall about, and when Raikou reached an age where he wouldn't simply accept what she told him to believe any more, they started to have an issue there. It doesn't help that she isn't the most emphatic person and will sometimes snark at the wrong moment, employing strong and brash, even dismissive words, where a gentle talk with depth would have been more likely to achieve something.

An issue that doesn't look all that big to her: She's sure that he will come around eventually. He's being idealistic because he is young, right? With experience will come understanding. If he doesn't believe her yet that swords will only bring death and not save anyone, he'll learn over time. It's the equivalent of telling your child that it is dangerous to climb up that tree, but they need to slip and fall before they'll understand why you said it.

To put it short, Kourin loves her children, she loves her husband, she loves her friends, and spending time with them seems to be her greatest happiness. She cares and worries about them and will try to push them into the direction that she deems best for them, but ultimately will support them in their decisions as long as they don't go against her principles (f.ex.: She seems to not have agreed with Asahi's decision to leave the world of Nabari, but in the end supported it fully as long as they kept themselves updated enough to ensure their safety). She will protect them with all that she has if it is in her hands, even with her life.

Most of Kourin's emotions, when she shows them, are big: She will grin widely and laugh loudly, attend her children's open class hours with great concentration, scream when she sees bugs and so on; she can however be calm and gentle as well when the situation calls for at, and since her husband's health is bad (to the point where he uses a wheelchair because he is too weak to walk on his own), she's had to at the same time care for him and make sure that the sickness doesn't make the children feel down too much at the same time. On the other hand she also won't tone it down when snark or dismissive elements enter her behaviour.

Now to the principles that I mentioned before. There are two that are basically two sides of the same coin, and it are these principles that her and Raikou as well as her and Iroku clash about the most. To quote:
We stand between the surface world and the world of Nabari. All we have to do is maintain the balance. Now that the Shinrabanshou has awakened, it doesn't matter to us whose hands it ends up in. There is no reason for us to interfere.

While we cannot know that she would have said the same had she not known the host of the Shinrabanshou, it is likely, as she considers the keeping of the balance the primary goal of the Shimizu clan that all other ideals and goals need to be secondary to; and to remain in a position where none of the villages will interfere with this goal, they need to keep a perfect neutrality: Whatever the rest of the world does, it cannot matter to the Shimizu cla and its members. That is the traditional approach of the family, by the way, and it is mentioned that the leader before her (Soumei's and Iroku's father) followed the same guideline. This on the one hand means that they cannot get dragged into the power struggles of the ninja villages, neither to aid a village nor to gain power themselves. On the other hand it means that they under no circumstances can interfere in the other, that is, the surface world. She sees no reason to do either, too: They are well off and nt contested by any of the villages, and there are already forces in the surface world that do the job that the Shimizu clan does in the world of Nabari: Police and other organs of the government with similar functions.

That is only one reason why she opposes the idea of interfering in the surface world or trying to get more power in the world of Nabari. The other is that she cannot subscribe to the aim that those advocating those things cite: To help, to protect, to make things better for everyone. Experience as well as simple conviction make it impossible for her to believe that the force of a blade could achieve any of that. A sword to her means death, even if it is rightful and just. Never life.
A sword is an object meant to kill. Never think that it can save people.

In the end, while different and much more mature, Kourin and her daughter Raimei resemble each other on quite a few accounts. They can both show great determination once they set their eyes upon a goal (and that most likely includes fights) and are very straight-forward about their ideals and opinions.

One last thing about Kourin: She can also be very patient and can wait for months and years for certain fruits to grow ripe. She doesn't necessarily spring to action the moment she hears about something if she thinks that it would be better to let it develop for a bit longer and come to a natural peak or conclusion. But at the same time she can think on her feet and make decisions in split seconds, both of which is crucial for a fighter and politician such as herself.

Abilities:

Primarely a samurai, and likely the strongest practiser of kenjutsu of her time in the whole world of Nabari, it is not known if Kourin also has ninja skills. She is never seen using any, but since she's from Fuuma village and her children both possess some ninjutsu skills, it is likely that she can at least do basic things on an average level, if not more.

Other: As a side note about her pull point, she is taken from before Raimei and Raikou received Shirogamon and Kurogamon.
