Third Person: Alex couldn't remember the last time she'd seen a house like this, white picket fence, garden in the front, flowers blooming. Or she could, but it usually came with vivid images of burn marks, blood splatter and a general smell of wreck and destruction. She realized that she'd gotten so used to the violence, that she'd almost forgotten what a peaceful place felt like.
It was strange, definitely, and she couldn't bring herself to fully accept her current situation. But if anything, she'd learned how to adapt quickly, and try to make the best of any situation - even when that situation involved something as surreal and seemingly impossible as suddenly finding herself in an entirely different universe.
It was far quieter and slower than Ergastulum here, but she'd always been quick to find things to busy herself with, so while she was looking to find a job, she did other things. Right now, in shorts and a comfortable t-shirt, she took care of the rose bushes in front of the house. Not her house, she was well aware, and the thought was more than enough to not get her too comfortable, but still, she liked the feeling.
She picked a couple more flowers and cut them, added them to a small pile near her feet. It wasn't much, but with so many pretty flowers outside, it just wasn't right to leave the jar on the kitchen table empty like that. And there's nothing wrong with trying to make the whole place a little better until she went back to Ergastulum.
(And maybe, just maybe, it was a little selfish, because she still wanted to find her brother, but most of all because there were people, innocents, who would rely on Worick and Nicolas for safety, but she couldn't help hoping that they just stayed here instead, away from that awful place.)
