IC INFORMATION Characters Name: Yuno Gasai / The Second Age: Technically 14, but she is a god who has time traveled several times. Canon: Mirai Nikki Canon Point: Right before she stabs herself in Chapter 59 (i.e. the last chapter of the manga). Species: Human originally. Gender: Female Orientation: Yukki-sexual. No, seriously. The idea of her being with anyone else would be crazy.
The Fifth's Game: After the massacre of the Omekata Temple Cult, Rea, Yukki's mother, agrees to take in the child of two of the Cult's members. That child turns out to be Reisuke Houjou, who is also a Future Diary owner. However his Diary only shows him various ways to kill other Diary owners three times a day - morning, noon and evening. Yet he uses it to his advantage and nearly stabs Yuno, poisons Yukki and Yuno with poison-infused tomatoes and electrocutes Yuno when she tries to take a bath. Miraculously (and mostly thanks to Yuno's intuition), the pair are able to escape all of those ploys.
Yet they are unable to escape Reisuke's final "game". He mails himself his Diary from a convenience store he visited with Yukki's mother. Yukki opens the package wrong and it expels poisonous gas. He inhales a good deal of it and nearly dies. However Yuno, by holding her breath and surviving a real electrocution, is able to find Reisuke and, thanks to Yukki, grab the antidote. Yet she too loses consciousness and Minene is the one who finds them and gives them both the antidote in time.
The Tenth's Trap: After re-entering middle school (in another location), Yukki makes friends with a small group of people (Hinata, Mao, Kosaka and, eventually, Akise). Yet Yuno never fully trusts them. She follows them as they check out a crime scene after school and she is right beside them when they find the "body" of Hinata Hino. (Hinata had been the leader of the group that had befriended Yukki in the classroom and she had been right beside them as they had investigated the crime scene. Therefore the culprit of her "murder" had to be nearby.)
Right after they find her body, the group hear howls in the distance and they are soon chased to an observatory by a pack of highly-trained dogs. Yuno warns Yukki about trusting any of the people around him (aside from herself) because someone is obviously controlling the dogs. Yukki ignores her and puts his trust in his new friends only to find that Yuno is right. Hinata is alive (the body had been a fake) and she is the one controlling the dogs. Her reasoning for doing so is because she wants Akise Aru's Diary - only, it turns out, he doesn't have a Diary and he has been fooling them the entire time (which they discover after playing a coin toss game).
Realizing they are, more or less, screwed, Hinata and Mao debate over their choices while holding Yukki/Yukki's Diary hostage. Yuno loses her temper and stabs Mao in the side, thus ending the hostage situation as Hinata runs to her friend's aid. Yuno, Yukki, Akise and Kosaka then escape the observatory only to be chased by the dogs as soon as Hinata gives the command. The group decides to split up - allowing Yukki to run back to Hinata and Mao. Yuno ends up following him (because, honestly, she couldn't give two craps about anyone else) and she takes Hinata hostage - thus getting her to call off the dogs. Yukki realizes that Yuno has every intention to kill the girl (because she fears Yukki will fall in love with Hinata), so he distracts her with a lie.
He calls her his girlfriend. And peace reigns in the land again. At least until the Tenth contacts Hinata (his daughter) and tells her that he had no intention of re-creating the world to spend more time with her and that he hopes she doesn't turn out like him. He is then shot - thus ending the call.
The Final Battle: The night of the 27th sees many astounding things between Yukki and Yuno. For one, they take a bath together and then sleep together for the first time (thus fulfilling their "Happy End" a day early). However, after sleeping together, Yukki stumbles upon the truth about Yuno. She isn't, technically, from his world. In fact she is already a god. But, thanks to a double suicide that went horribly wrong (i.e. she survived), Yuno was left behind when Yukki died in her world (which is dubbed "the First World"). Thus she used her powers to go back in time and find Yukki again. However, in order to do so, she had to kill the Second World's Yuno.
Which she did. Upon learning the truth, Yukki is understandably horrified. Yuno tries to kill him with an axe (because she knows the awful truth that, even as a god, the dead can't be revived) and she doesn't want Yukki to have to kill her (in order to win the game/save the world). He manages to escape and, thanks to Murumuru, Yuno travels back in time once again to relive the moments she shared/shares with Yukki all over again in a Third World.
Yet, once again, she will have to kill the Yuno of that world. Yukki and Minene manage to stop her, but then Yuno traps Yukki in an illusionary world where she doesn't exist and he has everything else he always desired (i.e. loving, living parents, a new coat etc.). Miraculously, Yukki ends up choosing her over all of those things. Moved to tears, Yuno agrees to stab him (on his request) only to stab herself.
Right before she stabs herself, she will enter the game.
Appearance: Yuno is considered to be quite a beauty by her classmates. She has long pink hair, which is usually pulled into twin-tails, bright pink eyes, pale skin and a curvaceous figure (especially considering she's 14). A picture of her can be found here. Upon arriving, she will be wearing her god robes (ta da~). Personality: Yuno is a very broken girl. There are two noticeable (extreme) sides to her personality as well as traits that fall somewhere in-between. It's safe to say that, because of the treatment she endured from her parents, there came a point in Yuno's life when she stopped being docile and sweet and realized that she could (and did) have the power to control her own fate. After drugging her parents and locking them in the same cage they had locked her in time and time again, Yuno felt truly strong for the first time. Perhaps that was why she went overboard and forgot to feed them. Regardless, from that moment on, Yuno realized that when things weren't going her way, she could alter them through force or through under-handed tricks (such as drugging, lying etc.).
Yet what did she want with her life; her future? That was when Yukki entered the picture. Once she understood that she wasn't alone in feeling lost (and purposeless (like a dead person*)), she decided that she wouldn't leave his side. The best way to do that (and because he only wanted to see the stars with his family) was to become his future bride - something Yuno looks forward to with every fiber of her being. However, thanks to the Survival Game (and, more importantly, the various outcomes of the Survival Game(s)), Yuno has become desperate to spend as much time with Yukki as possible. That desperation has led her to do things that she probably wouldn't have even contemplated doing in the past (such as killing on purpose (and bloodily)).
But there is more to her drive than pure desperation. When it comes to Yukki, she is also incredibly jealous and frightened that he will fall in love with someone else. That fear surfaced when she stabbed Mao and kidnapped Hinata; it also surfaced when she beheaded Akise. Simply put, Yuno will mow down anyone who stands in-between her and Yukki - unless someone (mainly Yukki) stands in her way/finds a way to distract her (yet even that isn't a sure fire way of stopping her).
There is more to Yuno than desperation, ambition, jealousy and fear, thankfully. As I said before, there are two extremes to her personality. On one side, she is a driven fighter, protecting the future she wants with everything she has; on the other, she is a seemingly simple, sweet girl. When she visited the carnival with Yukki, this side was particularly emphasized. She giggled, blushed, teased Yukki (with a straw) and even got scared in the haunted house.
Yet don't let her "innocence" fool you. Underneath that sugar and spice, Yuno is still a callous tactician. She can switch from sweet to bloody in no time at all. She also seems to have a penchant for being mischievous (sometimes in the worst way possible). When she is in her "going for the kill" mode and Yukki isn't at her side/in a state to calm her down, she can engineer awful lies and set up traps (as seen when she told Yukki Akise was attacking her (after she stabbed herself) and when she lured Hinata, Mao, Akise and Kosaka into the Grand Hotel trap). And if you think she feels any remorse for lying/trapping/deceiving, you are barking up the wrong tree.
Thus Yuno Gasai is a strange mixture of dangerous and sweet and she is probably the last enemy you want - especially considering she has a strange habit of blocking out memories that she would rather not recall. Said habit is a coping mechanism (and Murumuru is partially to blame). Hopefully in a far more peaceful environment, Yuno will be able to face her demons one by one.
Abilites: The useful abilities (i.e. the abilities that will likely work just fine in game) were partially taken from here. (Anything not in quotations was written by me.)
~ She possesses the Yukiteru Diary. She can read what Yuki is doing every ten minutes (since the entries update in ten minute intervals). Every entry is written in her voice.
~ "She is also skilled in traps, seen when she booby trapped an abandoned hotel with multiple tools (this is best seen in the anime), such as electronic locks, concrete (gas in the anime) and even a sickle from an elevator (also in the anime). Her intelligence (is) her greatest asset."
~ "Yuno is (also) shown to be quite resourceful, using a shard of glass as a mirror to check the position of Minene Uryu during her bombing attack, as well as a pair of stones against The Twelfth to discover him amongst his copycats."
~ "Her perhaps most fearsome ability along with her great intelligence is her mastery skill in basically all types of weaponry, mostly blades, such as knives and axes, and during the attacks against The Eighth and The Eleventh, to be a skilled swordswoman, and using firearms such as a pistol and a machine-gun with lethal proficiency."
~ "She also is fairly acknowledgable of poison and drugs although she uses them (only a) few times."
~ "She has also demonstrated to be quite skilled in infiltration, as she has in more than one occasion entered a building unnoticed even while it was protected by the police."
~ "Yuno has demonstrated impressive feats of physical strength mostly when angered, seen when she could free herself from two boys her age holding her in both arms, as well as free herself from two Omekata Cult members even when The Sixth kissed Yuki and killed them two, even though she was severly weakened by the excessive amount of physical activity performed at that time. Also during the second attack against The Eleventh she was capable of slicing up a person in half with a katana."
~ She is an excellent cook/house-keeper.
~ And, finally, she is very book-smart. She was at the top of her class before the Survival Game took over her life.
SAMPLES First Person: (Yuno's shock is quickly becoming another emotion entirely: rage.)
You took him! Murumuru! (Her voice is shifting from high-pitched terror to a much lower, and far more dangerous tone.) Give him back. I won't forgive anyone who took him.
(The picture wobbles just enough so that the knife in her hand is easy to see. Light reflects off the blade, adding menace to Yuno's already dangerous words.)
Yukki, can you hear me? Answer me, Yukki! (Gritting her teeth, her eyes shift.) I'll save you. Stay put.
(The feed shuts off abruptly. You better believe she is on the hunt, Holly Heights.)
Third Person: "Yu~kki..." she wanted his name to be the last thing she said. He was the reason behind so many good occurrences in her life. Yuno didn't have a clue how else to thank him for choosing her over the dreams he had held in his heart for so long.
But, maybe, killing herself would be enough. Then he could be Deus and make a world that made him happy. Maybe some version of her would be there too? Would he want that?
She liked to think so. A small, tender smile crossed her lips at the thought.
Thank you for everything, Yukki. Without you, I wouldn't...
Be here. I wouldn't be me.
Closing her eyes, she leaned against Yukki's warmth and gripped the knife tighter. Without saying a word, she tried to communicate her love for him through touch. No, she didn't just love him - she adored him.
"You're right." she murmured, pulling the knife back. He was obviously readying himself for the impact without realizing it would never come.
I could never stab you. He was the only person who was safe from her violence. I'll protect you from this too. She squeezed his arm and brought the knife towards her abdomen with unforgiving speed.
Yet the expected pain never came. Yuno opened her eyes with a small gasp, gripping...no one. Yukki was gone.
"Wh-What...?" her voice was hoarse with emotion, "Y-Yukki?" the syllables were high-pitched and pained.
What happened? Why had he been taken from her?! Swaying, she dropped the knife and fell against a solid surface. Was that a wall? Where -
"...Yukki..." she stared at the empty space before her, shock overwhelming her every other emotion.
