Other Characters: You may remove this section if this will be your first character in game.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Western order, por favor.
Age: In years, if possible.
Canon: Links to you canon's Wikipedia entry or it's own wiki or at least something to tell us what he hot haps are.

Gender: Both physical and mental.
Orientation: FILL THIS OUT IF YOU HAVE A CHARACTER THAT IS OVER 18, NO BUTS. Here at Holly Heights, we don't discriminate against anyone's orientations. That being said, if your character is gay, we aren't going to make them take a wife when housing plans are given. Gay marriage is completely legal. Please give us a short and simple reason you think they are gay/straight/bi/etc if they don't have an explicitly state sexuality. Please keep it short, though. We do know it's tempting to tl;dr about things like this. Long story short, the real question is Would your character be more comfortable with a wife, husband, or either?, so that we know what houses to place them in.

History: Links will suffice, but please write it out if the links are insufficient.
Appearance: A picture will be sufficient, but we'd never turn down a written explanation.

Abilites: Please note that in this domestic paradise, powers will be taken. Will you get them back? If you behave, perhaps. Please list any special powers your character has and any natural talents that they possess. This can range from flying to having nice handwriting.
Other: Anything else you'd like to include? Put it here.

SAMPLES

When linking singular threads, however, make sure that they are at least 10 comments long from YOUR character to accurately judge. Can be taken from [community profile] testrun_box.

Third Person: This is more like a log entry and action related. It should could more "he/she" than "I". Please give us at least two paragraphs OR 10+ lines or text. You may link to a musebox post or previous roleplay log for this but only if you didn't link for your first person and vice versa. Also remember that this isn't fanfiction and should act like a log post would . Just rambling on like a novel isn't writing a log. If linking, please make sure that there are at least 5 responses from your character to accurately judge. Can be taken from [community profile] testrun_box.

OTHER
Housing Request?: If you already have a place you want to live or a person you'd wish to live with, please say so here so it may be considered.

Characters Name: Ronald Weasley
Age: 17
Canon Point: Book 6; Right after his birthday and he's been poisoned!
Species: Human Wizard
Gender: Male
Orientation: Straight. He's very much a typical awkward teen, but it's pretty clear in canon that he likes girls. At the point that he's being pulled from he's just gotten out of a relationship with one girl and is still not recognizing his feelings for Hermione.

History: Ron has never lived much of a privileged life. He grew up in a rather large family (he was six out of seven if that helps you picture things), so things were always a little tight around his home but they managed (THEY DIDN'T HAVE MUCH MONEY BUT THEY MADE UP FOR THAT WITH LOOOOOOVE). Like everyone in his family he began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry starting at the age of eleven, it was there that his life changed more than he ever could know. If it weren't for the fact that he befriended the legendary Harry Potter he may have been able to squeak by in school without much issue. Sure he might have been picked on like any child, but things would have been a little more normal. But as it stood he never really had a chance.

Once at Hogwarts he was sorted into Gryffindor, friendship with the Potter boy blossoming even more and leading to adventure after adventure. To save time and brain power on everyone's behalf, I'll provide this link that outlines all the IMPORTANT BITS. Got it? Great!

Basically this year for him has been hell. He's dealing with typical and not so typical teenage problems, ranging from jealousy to problems with girls. When his birthday rolls around things are still looking crappy for the guy, so naturally when he finds a box of chocolates he assumes they are meant for him. They are not, in fact they are laced with a strong love potion mean for Harry. Harry being the stand up guy that he is, takes Ron to Professor Slughorn's office for an antidote, but then when they start to drink some mead he is POISONED! Blah blah, Harry saves his life and Ron ends up in the hospital wing, recuperating and feigning sleep when his now former girlfriend tries to stop by to see him. AND THERE YOU HAVE HIM! STRAIGHT FROM A NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE!

Appearance:
Ron is Ron. He's a little on the taller side, has fiery ginger hair and is brilliant at making awful facial expressions. But really, he's not a bad looking guy just a little awkward. AS IF YOU'VE NEVER SEEN HIM BEFORE.

Personality:
Ron is as loyal as they come. He would do almost anything for his friends and does tend to show many of the brave and selfless traits that a typical Gryffindor is associated with. He tends to be a little more laid back about things, the guy that is more likely to make a wisecrack or say something sarcastic than he is something serious. Of course, that's not always a good thing, seeing as Ron doesn't necessarily have a filter when it comes to such things. More than once the words that have come out of his mouth have been too blunt or just outright hurtful, even if that wasn't really the intent. In comparison to his friends he's very immature, insensitive and on at least one occasion his emotional range has been compared to that of a teaspoon. That being said, he does tend to offer that bit of comic relief to people.

It seems that his attitude towards most things (i.e. the wisecracking and the slightly sardonic tone he takes on at times) stems from quite a great deal of insecurity. Since a very young age, he's been very self-conscious about his family's poverty. Most of Ron's personal items have been hand-me-downs, possessions that used to belong to his older siblings. As it is, he feels a great deal of pressure about his own magical abilities, feeling that he needs to hold up the legacy that he's been overshadowed by. All of this, of course, leads to feelings like being second-best in all that he does. It's really all a very sensitive topic for him. While not the brightest crayon in the box, he certainly does his best (even though he'd rather slack off when it comes to doing real work). While smart enough, he never really was all that motivated to do his coursework and would have much preferred that someone else hand him the answers.

He can be moody and argumentative more often than is probably good for him, especially when paired with the temper that the boy has on him. While definitely the product of a wizarding family and upbringing, he's not afraid to throw down the wand and try to pummel the ever loving crap out of someone if provoked. Though this tends to happen more when someone he cares about is being insulted, he's got to stand up for something.

In addition to adventuring, he's got two great passions in his life: Quidditch and food. He could spend all day talking to someone about his beloved Chudley Cannons, which would be fine and dandy so long as you weren't talking to him at the dinner table. He does enjoy his food a great deal, so much that he seems to have difficulty not stuffing his mouth full (and then trying to talk around it).

All in all he's not a bad guy to have around, just so long as he's in a good mood. He can certainly sulk with the best of them.

Din | Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons | Not reserved

OOC INFORMATION
Player: Tarra
Age:19!
Personal Journal: [personal profile] cocola_weda
Contact Info: AIM: SweetCocola
Other Characters: N/A

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Din
Age: Her age isn’t stated in canon, but she looks and acts like she’s about 19 years old.
Canon Point: After she is rescued from Onox (so end-game)
Species: Human... Though she is actually an oracle of sorts, which has some special perks, but I'll delve into that in the 'abilities' section.
Gender: Female (sex & gender wise)
Orientation: Heterosexual

History: Wikia link! However, if that's not sufficient, I'll be happy to write up more!
Appearance: Image~

Personality: At a first glance, one might expect Din to be rather arrogant and vain, simply because of her natural smirk, however, that couldn't be any farther from the truth. In reality, in is a very kind-hearted young woman. She is willing to help anyone she can and enjoys doing so. She loves to give advice and just raise people's spirits; she feels rather discouraged or even sad when she sees others upset. This shows when she often encourages others t dance with her; it's not because she wants to humiliate people or anything like that, but she just wants them to feel included and make them feel happy.

Along with her kind nature, Din is also very energetic and confident. If she's given the chance, she will not hesitate to show off her dance routines in front of others. Perhaps it's because of her profession that she does remain confident in whatever she does, whether it be making important decisions, or even washing the dishes. It's very rare for Din to show signs of being meek or uncertain, and she only does so in life or death situations. Despite this, she will always do what's right in the end.

However, Din can be very oblivious to the feelings of others. She doesn't pick up right away if she's hit a raw nerve or even when someone blatantly has a crush on her. She just isn't used to such things, as she comes from a traveling dancing troupe. Despite her obliviousness, if she feels she has hurt someone in someway, she will stop at nothing to try and make things right, even if the other party has no intention of doing so.

A rather troublesome quality about Din is her rather restless curiosity. While at most times she'll try to refrain from asking too many questions, if something really grabs her attention, she will stop at nothing to get to the bottom of it. Whether it be an object or a person, Din will bombard whoever is nearby with plenty of questions, much to everyone's chagrin.

Abilites: Being the oracle of seasons, Din has the ability to control the weather around her. However, this only works in Holodrum, which relies on Din to keep the seasons in order.

Besides her oracle powers, Din is also a very gifted dancer. She is able to awe any crowd of people with her energetic yet graceful dances, and has a certain friendliness about her that encourages others to join in on whatever she is currently doing, whether it be dancing or even household chores.

[Okay, so Din has no idea how this 'text' thing works, but she's going to try! This weird... button-thing has letters on it. Let's try pushing a few, shall we?]

hisdovfkjfdhnk

[WHOA! Words popped up on the screen! Or at least, letters. Din highly doubts that 'hisdovfkjfdhnk' is an actual word... Well, regardless, she's going to try and type something. Let's see how this works out.]

hithere

[No, that seems weird. How the heck do you space these things...? Let's try this larger button... Ah, there we go!]

hi there i was wondering what is going on here if you could possibly give me some answers that would be wonderful also i am sorry in advance about this thing but im not sure how this really works yet

[Okay, so she hasn't figured out the punctuation or anything of the like yet. Not big deal, she can learn... Hopefully.]

Third Person:

Din had actually just awoken from her rather long nap on the lawn chair, but looking at her right now, no one would really know; her eyes were practically as wide as dinner plates and her body was very tensed up. Just where the heck was she?

Well, she most definitely wasn't in Holodrum, that was for sure. Everything around here seemed... Well, extremely different than Holodrum. Take, for instance, the house she was standing in front of! She had never seen such a sturdy house before...

Actually, it had just occurred to Din that she was holding a ring of keys. Why? She wasn't sure, but something inside her was telling her to go into the house... It might be her stomach, though. She was feeling rather famished...

So slowly, but cautiously, Din begins to approach the house, noticing the rather large white envelope taped to the door... And what's this? Her name is on it! This was getting weirder by the second...

Like the curious woman she was though, Din rips the envelope off the door and quickly tears it open, determined to read its contents. Would it tell her where she was and why she was here? She could onlyhope...

IC INFORMATION
Character's Name: Tenshi Hinanawi
Age: Immortal(-ish), appearance-wise in her late teens
Canon Point: Post-Scarlet Weather Rhapsody.
Species: Celestial
Gender: Female
Orientation: There is no romance in Touhou. There are only bullets and hats. Tenshi lives in a hedonistic paradise, however, so I assume she's cool with whatever - after a while, it's still boring to her.

History: 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Appearance: Here.

Personality: Bhava-agra...The highest realm of heaven. A world beyond consciousness.
And yet, even in a place like that, there were still imperfect people.

Tenshi can be summed up in four words: spoiled little angel/Tennyo girl. Her celestial lifespan is renewed by defeating shinigami, which wards off the 'Tennin Gosui', or the five omens of an angel's death. But she is hardly angelic. In fact, she is downright unlikeable.

She taunts, insults and lies, sometimes not so playfully. Usually she is not quick to anger, but rather to condescend and patronise - especially when people do not understand her meanings or motives. (Then she just becomes impatient.)

Wasn’t it strange that those on the earth always thought of heaven as a paradise...?

Her personality is formed by her experience in Bhava-Agra, the highest heaven: said to be overcrowded with righteous souls, it is in fact the vast, empty playground of sly and ambitious types who do not wish to give up their land. But Tenshi, though never having to work or with much perception of any harsh realities, is not satisfied with just this.

Tenshi is plagued by boredom, though it does not seem to effect the other celestials, who are content to continue eating their peaches. This means that any 'new' experience is exciting for her, even if it displeases others. For example, the affairs of humans and youkai are mere 'games' that she hardly takes seriously. The celestials are far removed from the ordinary life of the land-dwellers, as if they were but ants to them. She disregards the human cost of her 'games' in order to achieve her aims of enjoying the subsequent angry challenges of Gensokyo's residents.

It’s been a long time since I met someone as irritating as you.

No stranger to smooth talk, she also reassures Reimu that her shrine being leveled was a good thing in the end, as during the rebuilding process she places a earthquake-preventing keystone beneath it as an act of apology - despite the fact that she could remove it at will if she chose to. Additionally, she ends up making said shrine a place of worship of herself and her family before it is destroyed a second time (although she doesn't think of her actions as a big deal, herself). She does as she pleases, in the pursuit of pleasure, with no concern for the emotions of others. She is selfish in the extreme, or at the very least terribly oblivious. If you call her out, whether on her rudeness or wealth, then you're just jealous.

But how much of it is for show? Is she totally heartless? She is scared of Komachi, the shinigami, when she first sees her, although quickly reasserts her taunting, giggling demeanor. Tenshi is a lot more vulnerable than she first appears. Much of the teasing is because she wants a distraction from the monotony of her life in paradise. Growing up in heaven must also nullify her good experiences, as they become more usual. As she is not respected as an individual, with her own strength, she wants attention most of all, and loses on purpose it it'll make things more interesting. She appears legitimately hurt when she realises the depth of the cast's dislike for her at the end of her route. Apparently she was not aware how playing her rebellious megalomaniac role would alienate her to others, but she tries to make it up to them by attending their party and chatting amicably: at the end, they have come to accept her a little more. For once, she is happy, and not bored in the slightest.

Tenshi still seems mainly 'impossible to deal with', going by the exasperated words of the oarfish youkai Iku Nagae (who spends a great deal of her time trying to sort out the mess Tenshi makes; Tenshi conversely cannot remember her name). But deep inside there is still a young girl who wants to be liked and respected like any other - it is just that Tenshi goes about it in the most obnoxious way possible.

Abilities: Sky, show your dominance over the earth!
Earth, release your keystones!
Reflect the scarlet color of their souls!

First, Tenshi has her celestial abilities. Her long lifespan, for one, and the fact her body is poisonous to youkai or demons.

All Touhou characters can use danmaku, non-lethal bullets of energy. They also each have an individual, unique power. Tenshi, along with the rest of her clan, can control soil, which involves mainly raising rocky formations and controlling and preventing earthquakes. She always carries multiple earthquake-stopping keystones with her, which she also uses as danmaku. Touhou characters can also use 'spell cards', which are stronger bursts of magical energy.

All Touhou characters can fly.

She stole the Sword of Hisou (Scarlet Perceptions), a fiery, shape-shifting blade that can appear out of thin air. (Clearly Tenshi has a very handy inventory system going on here.) She uses the sword to drag the innermost essences of people out of their bodies, which manifests as weather. This means that the sword effectively can always land a 'critical hit' in the right circumstances, being able to exploit an opponent's weak point. The channelled scarlet essences can also be used as armour, protecting Tenshi.

SAMPLES
First Person: Here

Third Person: Cerulean sky, mild weather and the peaceful sound of wind rustling through leaves. All of them pointless, repetitive and so awfully dull it almost made Tenshi want to fall back asleep again. There was just one issue, though - the smooth, hard surface at her back, which was so alien to her she lifted herself up out of sheer curiousity.

A lawn chair. Strange. She could have sworn she had fallen asleep on some perfectly-stitched, white-feathered cushions, same as any other day. This was somewhat of a downgrade in comparison.

The realisation came slowly, after she used her house key, wandered inside, unaware and uncaring of anyone inside - not like they were important, since they would probably try to engage her in some vapid conversation about peaches.

There weren't any peaches in the refrigerator. That was also strange. There was a decent selection of clothes in the closet - colourful dresses as per usual - but no spare hats. That was especially strange.

Tenshi brought the cellphone close to her face, sizing up the weight of the foreign object in her delicate pale hands. Turned it on. The flash of light illuminated the scarlet in her eyes, and her mouth twitched upwards into a smirk.

"Well hello, Holly Heights."

Now this was exciting.

Ahiru | Princess Tutu | Reserved

[personal profile] effulgence 2012-05-27 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
History: The wiki's plot summary - let me know if this is insufficient!
Appearance: Here.
Personality: Ahiru, despite how she may seem at first glance, is anything but a normal girl. In fact, she’s not even a human girl. In reality, Ahiru is a duck, who is able to turn into a human due to magic, which both helps and hurts her. It allows her to be near her love, Mytho, who is a prince escaped from a fairy tale. The price for being near him, however, is an onslaught of identity issues. She often laments that she’s ‘just a duck’, wishing she could be a real human without the help of magic. She also feels like because she’s only a duck, she’ll never be good enough to have her feelings returned.

This leads to another very important part of Ahiru’s personality: she’s prone to thinking she’s not good enough, for both her friends or herself. She evens goes so far as to think she’s useless or unhelpful at the beginning of the story. However, along with the ability to transform from a duck to a normal girl, she also has the power to change into Princess Tutu. Tutu is essentially Ahiru, but with much more physical adeptness and confidence, although Ahiru considers herself a different person entirely. This is because of her low level of self-worth, which leads her to think she can’t be as useful as the princess.

The largest reason for her lack of confidence is her true identity as a duck. Unlike Tutu, she’s clumsy, both in her words and actions. She’s prone to falling over, getting lost, running around in circles, waving her arms around when she’s flustered, stuttering, blurting out embarrassing thoughts, and speaking nonsensically when flustered. She has a tendency to idolize people, often wishing she was more like Rue, a girl in the advanced ballet class. She also has a tendency to overreact. Even when she makes a small mistake, she’s very apologetic, especially to people she holds in high regard.

Despite her many insecurities and self image problems, Ahiru is a very cheerful girl when things are going right for her. Although short term situations can make her overreact to an extreme degree, she can handle situations that are stressful but continue on for long periods of time fairly well. She’s kind to most people, even when they disagree with her or cause her problems. Though Rue tried to stop her from getting Mytho’s heart shards back, Ahiru still considered her a friend. Even Fakir, who was also trying to stop her from getting Mytho’s heart back in a markedly more aggressive way, gets decent treatment from the girl. She openly calls him rude and a mean person, but shows genuine care when he’s in dangerous situations, and offers to team up with him to help Mytho later on.

She cares for her friends a huge amount. It doesn’t take very much for her to consider a person her friend, stating once that Rue is her friend after spending only a few hours with her. She's very outgoing, and cares enough for people that if need be, she can be brave for them. She’s cheerful around anybody when she first meets them, and very naive in regards to people; even if an individual is suspicious, there’s a good chance she’ll trust them. This trust and caring even extends to people who mean her harm, sometimes, but she has to have formed a relationship with them before the harm comes.

She’s also prone to bouts of depression that she brings on herself due to low self-confidence. She’s constantly second guessing herself and wondering if she’s doing the right thing; despite this, she has a tendency to meddle in things she doesn’t know much about if she thinks it’ll help somebody she cares about. Before she knew what giving Mytho back his heart shards would mean, she began to return them anyways, to ‘bring back his smile’. She regards this as more important than anything else. However, at the canon point I've taken her from, there's a growing conflict inside of her: to return Mytho's heart and lose him to the story, and then return to being a duck, or to act as thought she can't return the rest of his heart and keep him with her?
effulgence: (pic#)

Ahiru | Princess Tutu | Reserved

[personal profile] effulgence 2012-05-27 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Abilites: Ahiru can not only transform from a duck into a normal girl with the help of a magical pendant (I was told by a mod it was fine for her to have the pendant upon arrival in the city) but can also change into Princess Tutu as well. Tutu shares Ahiru’s body, staying dormant until Ahiru needs her to appear, and possesses wisdom, grace, and confidence Ahiru herself doesn’t. Tutu can also control plants to some extent, and jump to incredible heights, along with other extraordinary physical feats and the ability to influence the emotions of others to a small extent. She can change into Princess Tutu at will, but turns back into a duck when she says ‘quack’ and turns from a duck to a human when she gets wet - even a drop of water will do.

SAMPLES
First Person: This here post and all threads within should suffice.

Third Person: When she first wakes, curled up in the chair, it takes her mind a moment to fully awaken. Anyone passing by might be surprised at her her initial lack of surprise; she blinks a few times, stretching, before she suddenly becomes aware that she's no longer in her bed. After that, there's a short beat in which this realization sinks in before those same people who were shocked at her lack of reaction will be shocked at just how loud she can be.

She immediately moves out of the chair, spewing out half formed sentences of surprise and panic, running around the lawn, quickly tripping, getting back up, and repeating the process. This phenomenon will continue for several minutes, before she abruptly stops, realizing she's holding something in her hand. She dangles the keys in front of her face, staring at them curiously, her frantic motion over just as soon as it had begun. Of course, the fact that these could be her keys hasn't yet occurred to her. So, just as before, there's a pause before she begins to run again, only this time off the lawn and down one of the streets, yelling as loud as she can:

"I think somebody here lost their keys! This could be really important!"

Characters Name: Taiga Aisaka
Age: 18
Canon Point: Post Series
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Orientation: Ryuujisexual. :P No really, she's only ever shown interest in men, so heterosexual.

History: Clicky for a wiki!
Appearance: Click!
Personality: Taiga always seems to be in a bad mood. She's got a very quick temper and isn't afraid to assert herself, even if she's facing insane odds against her. She wouldn't be afraid to cuss out a gang of delinquents, for instance. To face her rage requires a very stupid person; she earned the nickname Palmtop Tiger in her high school because of this. Quite literally, the halls would clear when Taiga walked through them.  Even with people that she considers decent, she can be brash and at times violent. A snide remark about how you’re ogling at a girl? That’s the least of your worries around Taiga. Try peppermint chapstick going up your nose, or a kick to the nuts; no one is safe from her violence.

However, her harshness is a facade she keeps up in order to avoid getting hurt; she's one of those tsundere types.  Underneath, Taiga is a very sensitive person, and has a very emotionally rich life.  She's insecure about her small stature (both height and chest-wise), and tends to jump to conclusions that someone hates her, even without much concrete evidence.  In fact, hearing that Kitamura hated her (which was far from the truth) was enough to send her into an emotional breakdown.  She's not one to tell others how she feels though, preferring to sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of her friends. Loneliness is an overlying theme to her life. It’s all too clear to her that her family cast her out, and so in order to keep up her image she accepts that she’ll forever be lonely. Her own happiness isn’t important because it seems so unreachable. She’d much rather see to it that her friends gain a happy ending, while she rejects others to avoid the seemingly inevitable rejection she gets herself. Taiga acts fairly cheerful around her friends, only hinting about the truth underneath.

She's also got some issues with family, especially parents.  Her parents were divorced, and she felt like she was only annoying her mom’s new family, and she couldn’t stand her father’s new wife.  She was upset enough that she demanded to live on her own, and got her wish, getting an allowance from her father every month.  Because of all this though, she doesn't really know how to function in a "normal" family, and only acts out further.  Not only that, but she has no idea how to do typical house duties.  If left alone, she'll let the dishes rot in the sink, toss her clothes everywhere, and pay no notice to any mold that may be growing.

Taiga can, to put it bluntly, be a brat. She isn’t necessarily spoiled, and in later episodes becomes quite selfless, but she does have a feeling of entitlement and tends to do things to her own advantage. For instance, giving a friend (to use the term loosely…) high class chocolates, forcing her to eat one, and then demanding that she owe Taiga a favor because she can’t possibly return the chocolates after one was eaten. If something bothers her, she lets everyone know how much she hates it and how stupid it is and how this or that would be soooo much better. Acting out is the only way she really knows how to get attention, and she’s a pro at it.

Underneath all that tsun is a caring girl, surprisingly. She worries and frets over her friends; not always in an obvious way because of her harshness, but with a backhanded complaint or a worried look… right before landing a punch to their gut. In the moments when she relaxes and shows her softer side, she becomes a genuinely pleasant person to talk to, capable of rational thought, and though she still throws out insults they’re in a much lighter, teasing tone.

In a lighter mood, Taiga is a klutz.  She tried baking cookies once, and not only almost dropped the entire batch on the floor before they were done, but tried to deliver them to her crush, fell down the stairs, and the cookies flew out the window, crashing to the ground.  It turns out that she had added a ridiculous amount of salt to them as well.  Her attempts at confessing to her crush (Kitamura) backfired, as she was doing a better job at telling him that she liked Ryuuji, and so he denied her.  The poor girl is also easily embarrassed, and turns into a blabbering mess very quickly.  This frustrates her to no end, and only serves to make her act even more ridiculous.

Abilities: Taiga's pretty strong for her size, and could hold her own in a fight both because of this and her unrelenting ferocity. And, while she can't swim on her own, give her a kickboard and this girl will zoom across the pool with her leg power. She's also sufficient with wooden katanas.

First Person: Anything from my LJ! It's a different username, but the same Taiga~

Third Person: She remembered kicking and screaming, a cry for help, for anyone, anything to save her. She remembered the water overtaking her head, water rushing in her mouth and up her nose—a gasp she hadn’t meant to take—what, what was it Ryuuji had taught her? She remembered; Kick, blow air from your nose, don’t panic. But that last part, it was far too late for she remembered panicking, limbs pathetically beating against the water and a brief, far too brief moment above water.

She remembered gasping, finally understanding how sweet the air was and taking in a gulp of air, hearing the rush of waves and all too suddenly again the sea swallowed her up. She remembered how the light seemed so distant, that no matter how much she tried to grasp it she only sunk further, fear welling in her chest. She remembered the thoughts, chaotic and frightened, of inevitable death and she hadn’t even lived life fully, maybe this was karma’s way of punishing her or—

Most of all, she remembered drowning.

And it was on this note Taiga came to, bent over like a wild animal as she coughed up water. Her hair clung to her face and arms, seaweed tangled in the faint curls. She hurt. It took all of her strength to not fall face first into the sand, struggling to her feet after staring for—how long? Even Taiga didn’t know, gaze on her hands and the water—was that all in her stomach?—the water, the bile soaking into the sand. But it wasn’t until she stood that she realized she wasn’t anywhere near home. There was no going back, wherever she was.

Hell? A raspy mixture of a cough and a laugh. That would be it, huh? Maybe she really was dead, some freak accident with her bathtub from falling asleep before dinner. A… a hitch in her breath. That’s right. Dinner alone. Dinner by herself, as she would’ve stared at the window across to Ryuuji’s, wondering as her cup ramen cooked what kind of feast he was making for Yacchan. Dinner… Dinner for two, while the third, unofficial family member ate alone.

Somewhere, aching in the back of her mind, she knew that was a luxury that would be sorely missed in this hell. Instead of standing to support him, she could barely support her own weight. Her eyes burned with a mixture of tears and salt water, and Taiga took a few staggered steps forward before collapsing back into the sand, waterlogged sleeves serving no purpose in drying her tears. She was alone. Even if there were truly people in the direction of the decayed, yellowing lights, Taiga knew she wouldn’t find Ryuuji.

It can technically be said that he is as old as the ideals of a prince since that was his origin...EITHER WAY HE'S AN ADULT. He also seems to be ageless, considering that there are some events that he was present for in the past and he hasn't aged at all since then.

History:
Pretend everything below this line makes absolute sense:
______________________________________________________________________

Once upon a time Akio was a prince, but back then he wasn't Akio he was simply Dios. It's hard to say if Dios was simply an ideal or not, but he is in fact the other half of Akio. Perhaps it's best to describe him as the angelic and pure half before Akio's complete and total fall from grace. It is understood that Dios became corrupted and lost his sense of purpose as a prince and thus Akio came into being. (In the manga it was done intentionally, but it's much more vague in the animeverse and that's where he's coming from, so sorry it's not really very explanatory?).

There isn't really much known about his life after his fall, but it can be assumed that he lived something of a privileged life. He managed to get himself on good terms with a seemingly powerful family and even got a position at a very prestigious school (Ohtori Academy, respectively) through the engagement to the chairman's daughter. The chairman took ill at some point after meeting Akio and his sister; afterward Akio becoming his replacement until his recovery at a later date. It was there that he began to long and grasp for his former glory, creating the Dueling game in an attempt to create or find a duelist that is capable of power and nobility. He needs their sword to break the seal on the gate so he can restore himself to his full power. From his position in the school he runs the duels, not showing himself until farther in to the series where he reveals that he is in fact the mysterious man running the duels.

It is at this point that he's made himself part of the show, becoming familiar with the student council and the heroine. In fact, he takes quite an interest in Utena, pursuing her rather seriously as the duelist that he needs to regain his power. Akio basically controls everything having to do with the duels and the duelists, including Mikage in the black rose arc. After Mikage's defeat at the hands of Utena, Akio tells him his role in his plot was already fulfilled, and disposes of him. In the process, it is implied that Mamiya was somehow a disguised Anthy, helping Akio to manipulate Mikage.

After that we have the Akio Arc, in which Akio is (duh) more prominent. He finally reveals who he actually is to Touga and takes him to the 'end of the world. They then methodically subject each one of the duelists to the same thing, changing the nature of the duels temporarily and the duelists choose their own brides to fight with. Throughout all of this Akio is strengthening his bond with Utena, biding his time until she is ultimately tested for her nobility and power.

Akio warns Touga that his next match with Utena will decide the true champion, but before the duel, Touga and Saionji discover more about Utena's origin; little by little, the secrets involving Anthy, Akio and the duels start to unveil. Touga discovers his true feelings for Utena, and in order to protect her, he brings Saionji as his "bride" to fight her one last time, afraid of what could happen to her if she would become the final victor. After losing the duel, he tries to warn her about Akio and Anthy's true intentions.

Despite Touga's warnings, Utena decides to go with Anthy once more to the duel stage in order to meet the prince from her past, only to discover it all was an illusion created by Akio to steal her heart's sword. Utena decides to fight Akio and tries to protect Anthy from him, but Anthy (literally) stabs Utena in the back, which allows Akio to take her sword. He attempts to use it to open the doors that could lead to his so-called "World Revolution", but the sword breaks and Akio gives up. When Utena see how much Anthy is suffering from her past deeds, she decides to open it up with her bare hands, despite Akio's warnings. After that, the entire duel stage crumbles and Utena is apparently ripped apart by the Swords of Hatred which had previously ensnared Anthy. After these events, it is revealed that Utena has disappeared from Ohtori Academy; a few days later, Akio decides to start the rose duels again, but Anthy informs him that she is leaving the Academy, the links that bound her to the Academy and her brother finally severed thanks to Utena's sacrifice. The series ends with Anthy leaving the Academy in search of Utena.

This is where we have him from, after his own defeat and he is clearly contemplating starting the cycle over again. /o/

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Hong Kong
Age: Late teens physically, really in his hundreds.
Canon Point: Modern day/May 2012
Species: Personified territory.
Gender: Male.
Orientation: It's never been really been specified in canon, but there has been an incident in which he complained about "the sausage fest" his and China's Christmas gathering turned out to be, so that seems to imply he leans more towards being heterosexual.

History: His page on Hetalia Wiki + Wiki page on Hong Kong history itself.
Appearance: I place Hong Kong at about 5'7 in height, half an inch or so taller than China. He has choppy dark brown hair and brownish eyes with a slightly tawny golden sheen to them. He has been described as slender but quite toned and muscular. Perhaps most noticeable are his slightly thick eyebrows, which he has due to England supposedly cursing him during his time as a colony.
Personality: Upon first meeting Hong Kong, many might question whether he actually possesses one of these. He is described by Himaruya as being the sort of person that you can never tell what they're thinking. Normal displays of emotion seem to avoid this guy.

Don’t be lead into thinking he’s shy or timid though, first impressions aren’t all that they seem and Hong Kong actually possesses a remarkable amount of arrogance. Being such a forefronting world power in the likes of finance and business and having become so in such a remarkably short time, perhaps this is understandable. Couple this confidence with cynicism and a love of making snarky comments and you could have a right troll on your hands. He's also far from the quiet, contented type that he might appear and he doesn't hesitate to antagonise and troll intimidating characters such as Russia, clearly illustrating a lack of fear to some extent.

Unless you know him quite well, Hong Kong prefers to only open his mouth to say something cutting, rain on your parade and undermine you. This is ideally illustrated in Hetalia Fantasia when China explains the importance of earning money in America’s online game to avoid troublesome situations, only to receive a comment from Hong Kong, pointing out that it would have been entirely less troublesome to not play at all. Then followed by a response to Russia’s “life is troublesome” comment, with a request to use that little piece of wisdom in a joke. Annoying, perhaps, but having been shuffled back and forth between China and the UK and even a couple of years under Japan’s control, it isn’t really surprising that maybe Hong Kong has become quietly a little bit cynical of the other nations and their affairs.

In essence, Hong Kong is like a rebellious teenager, renewed with confidence at having been catapulted at such a young age into a position of importance and keen to undermine authority and his seniors and their old fashioned fuddy-duddy ways whenever he gets a chance. When under England’s control, it's stated that he would delight in setting off firecrackers during festivals, scaring poor Iggy and earning himself a lot of scolding. Aside from landing him with rather thicker eyebrows compared to the other Asians, England played a massive part in shaping Hong Kong, does Hong Kong respect him in any way? Of course not! He's no more respectful on the outside towards China either, one such example being his habit of drawing "explicit art", which he "kind of" apologises for and promises his teacher that he will never make any again, "maybe".

Re: Hong Kong | Axis Powers Hetalia

[personal profile] libretto 2012-05-27 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Amongst all these annoyances of his though, Hong Kong does have his good points. Headcanon wise, I believe that being a capitalist beacon under the control of a vast Communist nation, he remains stoic in his being different and trying to maintain his own unique identity. Deep, deep down he is also, deep down, a kind person, during the Vietnam War for example, his house was a refuge for thousands of refugees. He cares a lot for his family and will often have a soft spot for certain individuals, although he has a damn weird way of showing it of course.

His biggest passion in life is probably, unfortunately, money, largely reflected in his culture and people. Another obsession is image, he is fundamentally a pretty shallow person and probably judges and individual by their looks far too often. He also has a tendency to show little hesitance when it comes to lying, cheating and stealing to get his way if it comes down to it, as befitting of a place that is really the biggest home to triads. He possesses a large devious streak and a great amount of intelligence and ability to learn, you wouldn't really expect anything else from an ex-colony that went from barren island to thriving metropolis in only a century and a half.
Abilites: Being a territory rather than a regular human means that Hong Kong possesses greater strength and endurance and of course, most importantly: longevity. It's also more difficult to physically harm him than a normal person and he heals more rapidly. Other than that there's not much else.
Other: He's fairly fluent in quite a few languages and has been described as a "gourmet" and is an excellent cook. I think he also knows quite a lot of martial arts.

SAMPLES
First Person:

[ The camera focuses in on a typically bored looking Hong Kong. At least it looks like he's bored... Admittedly, it's a difficult to tell as usual. He speaks in a slightly drawly way, although it's obvious that he's not happy about something. ]

...So, like, these kids I got assigned. I have kind of a problem. They have no style and they've totally never heard of Bruce Lee... I don't even think they know who Jackie is, y'know? That's really bad.

So basically, I was wondering if I could trade them in for better ones? Y'know, like, just swap them. My kid should be cool, have great style and totally do everything I say.

So, mister landlord boss guy, see what you can do, yeah? Cool.

Third Person: Perched on the front of a junk boat, Hong Kong lets his fingers trail lazily through the water below, seemingly not a care in the world, he still had a hour before he was due at that meeting after all. Aberdeen floating village is filled with the ever familar -and perhaps unpleasant to most- scent of freshly caught fish, rows upon rows of salted ones hang not so far away and he eyes them in a slightly hungry manner. It didn't matter what time of day it was, Hong Kong was always hungry. The veritable bottomless pit of Asia.

The thought of the upcoming meeting does very little in the way of encouraging enthusiasm in him and he yawns and stretches a little as the boat gently rocks with the sea water below, contemplating perhaps if he could really master sleeping with his eyes open yet. Or perhaps he should just sneak his cellphone in by hiding it up one of his shirt sleeves again and play games on it for however many hours he'd be stuck there.

China always seem to have a way of dragging these discussions- or perhaps rants would be more accurate- on for as long as possible, whilst Hong Kong would silently reflect on the fact that he would have ended the whole thing with a brief and overly blunt two minute summary. Why prolong these things? Especially if they had nothing at all to do with money. Still, who was he to argue with the old man? Crazy as his teacher's methods might appear sometimes... No. Make that all of the time.

Hong Kong yawns again and slowly gets to his feet once more. He still has some time to kill. Nobody would mind if he brought snacks to the meeting, right? ...Not that he'd actually care if they did anyway. He fingers a few notes in his pocket and shrugs, should be enough to get three bags of egg tarts... Maybe four...

Canon Point: March 30th, the day after his birthday party.
Species: Human

Orientation: As straight as a Starry Homo can be! Being honest, he's a straight guy, but he's really really bromantic a lot of the times. In his tsun way, of course.
History: Starry Sky wikipedia page, a somewhat decent review of the game, and another one just because. Also, here's an After Spring review.

Appearance: Kanata Nanami is 5' 9", 131 lbs. His eyes are a unique shade of yellow, dubbed as 'vanillayellow' on colourlovers. This could be a throwback to him having a 'cat-like' attitude towards people. They can sometimes be seen with a slightly greener tint, making them seem almost like a lime colour. His hair is a colour called 'anyway you want it' on colourlovers, a mid grey tone one could call silver if the light hit it just right. Its texture looks as if it would be pretty greasy. It's obvious he uses quite a bit of gel in it, due to all of the waves and parts. Though he is really lazy, Kanata does seem to put a lot of effort into his appearance. It's obvious by his hair and his attention do finite detail concerning his looks that he does put a lot of time and thought into how he looks, even while in uniform (preferring to go the route of a true delinquent and break dress code always) by adding personal touches. He has to have some confidence in his appearance and looks. Kanata isn't all that good at thinking about things like how good he looks though, so if you told him as such, he'd probably blow it off and then joke about it. Kanata also appears to have that kind of Hello-I-Have-A-Moderate-to-Severe-Heart-Condition tinge to him, so he isn't all that tinted or anything. Just kind of whiter than most but not too pale.
tsuns: (pic#3638930)

[personal profile] tsuns 2012-06-01 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
Personality: A lot of Kanata's personality revolves around the fact that he was born with an illness that might one day kill him, passed down to him by a father that died when he was extremely young. In order to try and keep other's worries at bay, he acts tougher and plays down his sickness as if it isn't all that big a deal and rarely mentions it, though his efforts normally only make people worry about him even more. When he was a child, his body was extremely fragile and weak, his illness and its symptoms keeping him from doing a lot of the same things as the other children. Feeling alone and petrified of dying, losing what little he had and troubling his two best friends (Tsukiko, the game's heroine, and Suzuya), he often burst in tears and became near inconsolable. Thankfully, as he grew older he grew a tad bit stronger. His constitution stayed about the same until his teenage years, though he grew at a normal rate.

As he grew older, his complex over his sickness grew from a profound sadness to a need to protect those who had stayed with him, taking care of him, who had loved him when he needed them the most. As much as he wanted to become stronger, his body wasn't built for much physical combat, which meant that most of his fights ended with him on the ground, the obvious loser. After a while, he eventually learned how to spar decently well, then became something of a force to be reckoned with, though his weak physicality keeps him from keeping a fight going longer than three minutes. Kanata also found a way to feel more alive, though his body ironically began to deteriorate with his new found passion. After a while, around his school, he garnered the reputation of a delinquent. Suzuya and Tsukiko constantly had to get onto him for fighting, which he enjoyed in a way. It showed that his friends truly did care for him, making him feel like a person deserving of their love and having the ability to live freely with no bounds.

A certified slacker, Kanata is more likely to be seen lying around campus than in class. His awful attendance requires him to attend make up classes, though he isn't necessarily stupid, just not the most book smart individual. When he IS in class, he's normally dozing off or not paying attention. When at home, he's either goofing off or lazing around, leaving a lot of his chores to Suzuya to come and do them for you, as well as meals. Without Suzuya, Kanata probably would have died in his own filth or from hunger. He likes to believe he can take care of his friends, but the most basic of living skills are pretty much a mystery to him. He is there for them, though, and does hold them above himself, no matter what he says. He's actually quite shy about his love for his friends, and the only people he can openly dislike are those that bother them or cause them any distress.

Interpersonal relationships aren't a strong suit of his. When new people are introduced into his environment, he doesn’t quite know how to react other than defensively. Anyone that interferes in his little family triangle is going to send up immediate red flags and it’s rare for him to take an instant liking to someone. He’s like a cat: very cautious in his approach and he either immediately hates you forever or dislikes you and slowly warms up to you. Where Tsukiko is concerned, his feelings are…”hidden”. It’s quite obvious he loves her, to everyone but her, but he’s too dense to realize how obvious it is. Kanata is, despite his illness and complex, a cheerful person. He loves to tease those whom he cares about and is generally in a happy mood. He knows how precious life is and it's something he can't afford to waste. Why go through life miserable when you don't know if you'll be here the next day? He doesn't fully stick to the whole "live life to the fullest" ploy; being extremely closed concerning his own feelings. When called out on any of his feelings, he has a brash panic attack and freaks out. The only one allowed to talk about things like that is him, and even then, it takes a while for him to open up.
tsuns: (pic#3638847)

[personal profile] tsuns 2012-06-01 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
Kanata has another goal and ambition other than protecting his friends. He keeps a digital camera secretly on his person wherever he goes, taking pictures of whatever he pleases, including candid pictures of his friends, scenery, and just anything that might catch his fancy. It's a way to capture a precious moment he can look back on, a way to leave something behind when he passes, which could be at any moment with his illness. His future goal for his livelihood is to become a photographer, though he isn’t quite sure on whether to go into a specialized field with it, and it’s kind of a secret from his friends. It decently matches his slacker attitude and allows him to leave his own little impression on the world. While he does tend to be lazy, he is extremely motivated in his major goals, going so far as to want to study abroad to devote himself to achieving his dream.

His big weaknesses are (of course) his sickness, his inability to properly convey his feelings, and his fast temper. His illness is constantly something he struggles with, always stressed over and thought about. It takes constant pushing to get him to admit what he's really feeling and thinking, sometimes causing him to quickly blurt out things he doesn't mean or that or worded poorly. His mouth and incapability to convey a lot of his emotions often gets him into a lot of predicaments. Not being able to open up to people is also a weakness. He's a pretty likable guy according to people, but he only really associates with his two best friends

Abilites: Though not necessarily an ability, Kanata's got some pretty strong fighting skills, though nothing near professional level. He can only last three minutes in a fight, and presumably anything too highly straining on his body. He's best with his hands and upper body. Also, though photography is a hobby, he's gotten pretty good at it via practice.

First Person: Route_29 entry

Third Person: If there was something that could make his lids heavy, it was a boring class. Not that Kanata had any opinion on the difference between a boring class and one that interested him. They were pretty much the same. He’d much rather be doing something fun; like sleeping, for instance. If there was something he was truly good at, it was sleeping.

He honestly can’t tell what class he’s in at the moment as his eyes strain to remain open. Is it…math related? Social sciences? He can see the professor at the head of the room, blathering on about something. Did he hear something about the Romans? Or was that word arithmetic…? What did he care, he knows he’s about to fall asleep anyway. What does it matter how much he retains before actually passing out on his open textbook, hidden behind a very large notebook he has propped up. It’s covered in numerous doodles and pencil smudges, small thoughts and little half-sketches of dream landscapes and trees with perfect lighting. It’s the perfect device to hide his head, which is about to be lain on his desk, mouth softly snoring until the bell rings.

He doesn’t even pretend to care that the teacher might notice; his camouflage in place and his eyes turning to drowsy slits. He can always bum notes off of someone later. Did this class even matter all that much? Probably not. As Kanata goes to lay his head atop a page of his text, he yawns quietly. Taking out his phone, he quickly makes a bored text post to the network:

in class. bored as hell. anyone else? i'm sleeping.

He has a quick thought; a prayer even, that wonders and hopes that he doesn’t get caught, but it’s quickly snubbed out by closed eyelids and the soft blackness of the start of a nice dream. He’ll be awake for the next class, he promises himself, before fully setting into a deep, fast sleep.

Characters Name: Dirk Strider.
Age: fifteen.
Canon: here ya go.
Canon Point: Fending off the Crocker Drones on the rooftop of Dirk's house along with Sawtooth and Squarewave.
Species: Human.
Gender: Male.
Orientation: n/a.

History: here ya go.
Appearance: His basic image is pixelated with a "blank" skin color, but I'm going to make the assumption that he is a slim built Caucasian with spiky blonde hair. Dirk also possesses orange-hued eyes.

Personality: The first thing that should be noted is that Dirk is a Strider. Post-Scratch or no (if you mods are knowledgeable in the Homestuck universe, it would make more sense), he's got a mad vibe for all things ironic just like his brother Dave. There's a differing contrast between the two, however, as he's much more serious. There's many a time where Dirk will be the mood-dampener in a conversation or pulling the strings of the many operations going on between his friends to keep things going on. To be exact, one of his many quotes has him saying, "If it puts your mind at ease, I'll be the one pulling the strings here".

There's many hobbies that come with the package of being Dirk Strider, but few are often brought up to others. He has a habit of keeping them to himself unless it's to brag-- the ego that comes with being a Dersite pertains to him as well. His biggest trademark is his skills with building, formatting and doing everything else he can imagine with robots. The guy is extremely intelligent and it's pretty much obvious he's the smartest of his group of friends by the particular and strictly proper syntax he types with. He's almost pompous with his knowledge at some points, but for the most part, he treats the rest of his friends equally and respectfully.

It shouldn't be hard to guess that the way he comes off also means he's a guy with goals in mind. There's little time spent with idle hands when it comes to Dirk, and his many hobbies come into play. Rap-dueling the robots he creates, watching My Little Pony, puppets (!!!), training with his katana and other various weapons. He's got a lot of things to do. Also, it should be noted that all of the characters in Homestuck have another "self", either in Prospit or Derse. When awake in the "real/our" world, they're asleep in the other. But Dirk is different because he's living both lives to the fullest at the same time. So yeah, it can be said with certainty that he is a busy man.

So busy, infact, that he had to build an AR (Autoresponder) to talk to his friends for him. It's an identical replication of him from a younger standpoint and an AI that adapts to information given to him to become smart as all hell. Most of his friends -- Jake English especially -- have a hard time dealing with the fact that AR is always conversing with them as opposed to Dirk himself. This can be evidence that Dirk may prioritizes more physical objects over his friends at times.

Like all characters in Homestuck, their friends make a core part of their overall personality. Dirk may have seen one too many movies like The Karate Kid, because he takes on the role of the hard-assed sensei that tries harder than he should to teach his friends things they should know. He instructs Jake on ways of being less naive, and ironically teaching Jane to be less skeptical. Roxy seems to slip away from his grasp when it comes to that, but he has been known to get onto her and her drinking habits.

Abilites: Dirk's "class" in Homestuck hasn't shown the abilities possessed yet, so I'll refrain from going on too much about that. But he does have a lot of abilities aside from that, like his natural techniques with swordplay, rapping, building and crafting.. the list goes on kind of long. Like previously mentioned from above, he can also control two lives simultaneously. What a BAMF, right.

SAMPLES
First Person:

[ The faint snow located on the screen begins to dissipate as a pair of pointy shades appear on the screen. There isn't a very amused face greeting the viewers, but hey, you might as well get used to it. ]

As great as it is to be accompanied by people and not stone-cold, motherfuckin' heartless robo-dicks, I feel like I'm pulling a card out of a friend's sleeve for some shitty two-cent magic trick. Skepticism isn't my schtick, but.. seriously? Everyone's all happy and go-lucky about the fact that we've been abducted into a peaceful little world? Celebration, Disney World, much? Callin' dibs on the first murder scene. Let me be like my Bro and whip out the trusty camera for the trip back home, if that ever happens.

[ Adjusts shades. ]

Hate being a stick in the mud. Actually, no the fuck I don't, I've been rolling around in the mud more than Babe. Maybe I'll spend the entirety of today going to nearby orphanages and telling them that there's nothing to fear with all of our parents being fake as shit. Everyone'll be all, "Yo, that'll do, pig".

[ A few seconds of silence before he's already reaching to turn the webcam off. ]

If anyone even cares about names and we're not going by serial numbers here, it's Dirk.

Third Person:

[ Only a few hours into this little ball of sunshine called Holly Heights and Dirk's dissecting things like they're victims found dead in the middle of a desolate alley. He found a toaster in the kitchen when prowling through the substantially inadequate kitchen and decided that it would be of his best interest to see how far technology had made it in this world.

Needless to say, it hasn't done much. ]

The heating grids are placed together too tightly. Anything that dares to enter this cylinder-shaped orifice won't be coming out unscathed.

[ Dirk murmurs to himself outloud. His shades no longer have an AR to respond to idly while he fiddles around with junk in the room, better yet knowledge of where the hell his friends are. All he can do is talk and hope that someone out there is listening. If not, at least he's listening to himself. Some people can't even do that. ]

There's been some degradation in the metal as well. This place is supposed to be new, yet rust is on this like it's some kind of inappropriately-used condiment.

[ There's a brief sigh as he wipes his forehead with the back of his hand to remove any sweat. The poor machinery is no longer together, spread apart the counter piece by piece, screw by screw. ]

I could easily put this back together, but I think I'm going to start stockpiling some parts. Maybe I can bring some kind of semblance of my house back here. Hah. Hope my "parents" won't miss their toast being toasted for a while.
