Other Characters: You may remove this section if this will be your first character in game.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Western order, por favor.
Age: In years, if possible.
Canon: Links to you canon's Wikipedia entry or it's own wiki or at least something to tell us what he hot haps are.
Canon Point: Exact page numbers and panels aren't necessary, but being specific is good.
Species: Note that any species other than human will become human. Animals, aliens, even human like beings. You're going to become homo sapiens like the rest of us.
Gender: Both physical and mental.
Orientation: FILL THIS OUT IF YOU HAVE A CHARACTER THAT IS OVER 18, NO BUTS. Here at Holly Heights, we don't discriminate against anyone's orientations. That being said, if your character is gay, we aren't going to make them take a wife when housing plans are given. Gay marriage is completely legal. Please give us a short and simple reason you think they are gay/straight/bi/etc if they don't have an explicitly state sexuality. Please keep it short, though. We do know it's tempting to tl;dr about things like this. Long story short, the real question is Would your character be more comfortable with a wife, husband, or either?, so that we know what houses to place them in.

History: Links will suffice, but please write it out if the links are insufficient.
Appearance: A picture will be sufficient, but we'd never turn down a written explanation.
Personality: This should be the biggest part of the application unless your history is written out. There should at least be 3 paragraphs OR 300+ words. No links. Using old app sections for this AS LONG AS THEY ARE YOUR OWN is reasonable.
Abilites: Please note that in this domestic paradise, powers will be taken. Will you get them back? If you behave, perhaps. Please list any special powers your character has and any natural talents that they possess. This can range from flying to having nice handwriting.
Other: Anything else you'd like to include? Put it here.

When linking singular threads, however, make sure that they are at least 10 comments long from YOUR character to accurately judge. Can be taken from [community profile] testrun_box.

Third Person: This is more like a log entry and action related. It should could more "he/she" than "I". Please give us at least two paragraphs OR 10+ lines or text. You may link to a musebox post or previous roleplay log for this but only if you didn't link for your first person and vice versa. Also remember that this isn't fanfiction and should act like a log post would . Just rambling on like a novel isn't writing a log. If linking, please make sure that there are at least 5 responses from your character to accurately judge. Can be taken from [community profile] testrun_box.

OTHER

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Athrun Zala
Age: 18
Canon Point: After Gundam SEED Destiny Final Plus
Species: Human (Coordinator)
Gender: Male (applies to both)
Orientation: Heterosexual. In canon, Athrun had a "playful attraction" to Lacus and fell in love with Cagalli. He was also embarrassed by seeing Cagalli in her undergarments and Meer sleeping next to him in bed. He's never shown sexual attraction to other men.

History: http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Athrun_Zala
Appearance: ZAFT red uniform | ZAFT flight suit | Alex Dino clothes (minus sunglasses) | Alex Dino sunglasses | FAITH flight suit | Orb admiral uniform | Orb flight suit
Personality: Athrun is very much a person who lives by his beliefs. He signs up with ZAFT because he believes that Coordinators as a whole are under attack by the Earth Alliance, and fights for the same reason. Later, when the Archangel deserts the Earth Alliance, Athrun once again lets his beliefs dictate his actions and sides with the Three Ships Alliance. He does this despite the fact that it means going against his own father, because it's what he believes to be right. Then, again, during the Second Bloody Valentine War, he rejoins ZAFT because he believes that Blue Cosmos needs to be stopped, and feels that the ZAFT military is the best place in which to do that, then again leaves when he sees what Gilbert Durandal is really like.

At the same time, Athrun is not content to pick a belief and blindly follow it. Athrun searches for the truth. For the better part of both series, Athrun finds himself questioning what ZAFT is doing and what he is doing in ZAFT. When Lacus helps Kira steal the Freedom, Athrun decides to get to the bottom of Lacus's apparent betrayal rather than blindly follow his father's orders. This is also the driving force behind Athrun's decision to confront his father shortly after the Archangel and the Kusanagi leave Earth, and later leads him to search out Durandal's true goals.

Despite actively participating in two wars, Athrun is a pacifist at heart. Kira constantly says that Athrun once told him that he despises the whole idea of war, and this is true. He fights not because he wants to, but because he thinks he has to in order to protect his ideals and to bring about a quick, just end to the wars. Even then, he tries not to kill, though he's much less adamant about it than Kira is.

Off the battlefield, Athrun is somewhat quiet, but at the same time, mannerly and kindhearted. Athrun himself admits he's not the best at getting to know people, but he does try. He's been raised well, and normally tries to carry himself with dignity. He knows his manners, and always follows them when he deems the situation appropriate. Athrun also loves to make things. He made a robotic bird for Kira and a swarm of Haros for Lacus. Being a Coordinator, this comes easily to him.

Athrun's manners especially surface in his dealings with women. Athrun always approaches Lacus with the utmost dignity and respect, and treats her extremely well (Lacus's infamous swarm of Haros came to be because Athrun made one for her and she said she liked it). In this vein, he's also something of a prude. After a tense scene with Cagalli trying to steal his gun, Athrun's first act after the situation was defused was to turn away and ask her to put her clothes on (she had gotten them wet in an earlier mishap and they were hanging out to dry, so she was in her underwear). Then there was the time that he woke up to find Meer, asleep and wearing a nightie, in bed next to him. Athrun's reaction? Shout and scoot backwards, only to fall off the bed.

Last but not least, Athrun is loyal to his friends when it comes down to it. Athrun and Kira spent over half of the original series (and briefly in Destiny) on opposite sides of the war, but the entire time, each was hoping they could talk the other down and avoid killing each other. He holds his friends and comrades in very high regard, tries his hardest to keep them safe, and would be willing to lay down his life to ensure their survival.
Abilites: Coordinator - Coordinators are people who underwent genetic surgery during the embryonic stage of development. On average, Coordinators are much more intelligent, have faster reflexes, greater endurance, and potential for physical strength, and much stronger immune systems than Naturals (people who did not receive such surgery). Athrun is a second-generation Coordinator, which means that he did not receive the surgery, but both of his parents did and he inherited their superior genes.

SEED Factor - The SEED, or Superior Evolutionary Element Destined factor, is a characteristic possessed by a select few people, including Athrun. Those who possess the SEED are capable of entering an enhanced mental state, known as SEED Mode, in which the person displays increased awareness and peak physical ability. While in SEED Mode, Athrun demonstrates heightened reflexes and exceptionally quick information processing; he can perform complex calculations in a matter of milliseconds. Athrun is capable of entering SEED Mode at will, but he must possess a strong conviction; too much doubt will lock him out of it.

Piloting skills - Athrun is a talented mobile suit pilot; arguably the best in the Cosmic Era timeline. He is one of only two people who have managed to defeat Kira in a duel, held off three Gundams piloted by Biological CPUs (Naturals given artifically-advanced skills) on his own, and defeated Shinn in a duel (which became one-sided when Athrun entered SEED Mode).

Firearm skills - Athrun is the best shot in the Cosmic Era timeline. He dislikes it, but he has a talent for handling guns, as evidenced when he shows Lunamaria his skills against the Minerva's target practice machine. He can accurately and repeatedly hit his targets, and on multiple occasions shoots his enemies' guns out of their hands while leaving little to no damage to the hand itself.

Robotics knowledge - Athrun is well-versed in mechanical engineering, electronics, and computer programming, all three of which are necessary for creating robotic pets. So far he's created a bird for Kira and approximately a dozen Haros for Lacus.

Martial arts skill - Athrun is well-versed in self-defense. When fighting, he prefers to let his opponent move first, then counter with joint locks and submission holds.

First Person: Route 29 post list

Third Person: Whenever Athrun stopped to think about it, he could hardly believe it himself. After he and Cagalli broke up, part of him doubted that he could ever find another woman to love again. But that was before he came to Holly Heights, before he met the woman assigned to him as his wife. And not only had Athrun fallen in love with the woman, but he was about to take her out on a date to mark their anniversary of arriving here in this town.

Athrun sat in his living room, wearing a dress shirt, pants, socks, shoes, and tie and gazing out the window. As he waited for his wife to get ready and for the children to come down to say good-bye to for the evening, he thought back. Their first meeting had been an eventful one, and one that Athrun would likely never forget. At the time, it had seemed like someone was playing games with him, with his wife having shown up wearing a wedding dress of all things. That had only marked the beginning of the relationship they would cultivate, and despite the shouting, the teasing, and the other troubles they had faced, they had grown to love one another.

The sound of a closing door upstairs drew Athrun out of his train of thought, and he stood up. That was either his wife or one of the kids coming down the stairs. Either way, it was time to get ready to go.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Ky Kiske
Age: 21/22
Canon Point: After Accent Core Plus
Species: Human
Gender: Mentally and physically male
Orientation: Heterosexual. He gets nervous when girls make obvious passes at him, and by Overture, he's fallen in love with Dizzy and fathered a son with her. He has a rather...interesting relationship with Sol, but I believe it's platonic.

History: Guilty Gear Wiki
Appearance: Order uniform
Personality: Ky is an extremely devout and upstanding individual. If he believes in something, he believes in it with all his heart. He is a strong believer in God (and, being French, is probably Catholic), and is also a strong believer in the inherent goodness found in humanity. And he will avoid straying from his beliefs at all costs.

However, this also comes with a negative side. Because of Ky's beliefs, he has an extremely rigid view of right and wrong. To him, the entire world is divided into justice and injustice. Ky believes that he is implementing justice, and that justice will always prevail in the end. Ky doesn't take this belief to knight templar extremes, but he does come close.

This has been changing ever since Sol killed Justice, though. Sol's defeat of the Commander Gear -- the same being that had fought Ky's mentor 17 times, each time ending in a draw until Justice finally killed Kliff -- threw his worldview into utter turmoil. Ky could not understand how a man like Sol could do the deed when Kliff, a much greater man in Ky's opinion, could not. From the end of the first Guilty Gear game on until the end of Accent Core Plus, Ky spends time trying to figure out what justice truly is.

In the process, Ky's black-and-white view of the world gradually begins to soften. By the end of Accent Core Plus, he's almost thrown it away entirely. His time spent with Sol and Dizzy has shown Ky that Gears are not inherently evil (Ky recognizes that Sol isn't evil -- just a jackass) and starts working with people he never would have dreamed of working with before. A prime example is Johnny. In his earlier days, Ky never would have worked with a pirate. Now, though, he entrusts the Commander Gear to his care, and is willing to work alongside him to reveal more mysteries of their world, in particular the Post-War Administration Bureau.

That being said, Ky has plenty of other good qualities. For one, you would be hard-pressed to find a more selfless man. If a person is in trouble, Ky will go out of his way to save them, even if there is nothing in it for him. Usually there is, though -- had Ky not subdued Dizzy's wings, the results would have been catastrophic.

Ky is also a hard worker. He sets his eyes on a goal and does not stop until he achieves that goal. The best example of this was the five-year period in between Ky first approaching Kliff and Ky's initiation into the Sacred Order of Holy Knights. He trained like there was no tomorrow, and as a result is in peak physical condition and incredibly skilled with magic (lightning is the most difficult magic to master, yet Ky is capable of using it with minimal difficulty).

Finally, Ky is very intelligent and charismatic. He has a good grasp on the world and its history, and is also intelligent enough to know about his charisma and therefore put it to good use. Talent aside, it was these factors that got him positions as both the leader of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights and captain in the International Police Force. He also uses these gifts to secure a network of political connections. Ky uses his gifts, and he uses them damn well.
Abilites: Physical fitness - Ky is in top physical condition by human standards. The Post-War Administration Bureau report that appears at the beginning of his story describes him as possessing a prime physique.

Lightning magic - Ky is an expert at using lightning magic, regarded as the most difficult type of magic to master. His sword, Thunderseal, one of the eight Outrage, is imbued with lightning magic and further amplifies his abilities, but he's still capable of using magic (and kicking ass) without it.

Swordsmanship - Even without magic, Ky is an adept swordsman. Whether he's using Thunderseal or even a ceremonial sword, he can fight most human opponents to a standstill with his blade.

Hand-to-hand combat - Though he doesn't display it often, Ky is capable of defending himself without a weapon. This even shows itself in his fighting style in the games, where he throws punches and kicks as often as he uses sword slashes or magic techniques.

Education - Ky is very intelligent and well-educated. While he knows nothing about modern science (the subject being forbidden throughout the territory governed by the UN in his world), he is very well-versed in literature and history.

Faith - Ky is a devout -- and knowledgeable -- follower of the Roman Catholic Church. Unlike much Japanese media which portrays Christianity-like religions as corrupt or secretly evil, Guilty Gear treats the Church as a positive influence in the world, and Ky's faith is subequently treated as a positive aspect of his personality. It adds to his resolve to keep pushing forward and to making the world a better place.

Charisma - Ky possesses natural-born leadership skills, and between that, his manners, and his good looks, is able to easily draw people to him. He doesn't necessarily make a lot of friends, but many people are willing to aid him when he needs it.

First Person: Anemoi tag

Third Person: Ky walked into the church, and approached the altar. Rather then walk up there, though, he knelt down next to one of the pews near the front, genuflected, then put the kneeler down in the pew and rested his knees on that. He made the Sign of the Cross, and then began to pray.

This was the first quiet moment Ky has had all week. Work was excessively hectic for the past five days, and with the accident that occurred right in front of his house on Monday, he has had little time to properly relax at home, too. For that reason, Ky took a brief break in his prayer to simply let go of everything. Nothing formed in his mind, word or picture. He focused on nothing, just for the sake of having nothing in his mind or around him.

Quickly enough, though, he ended that period and resumed his prayer. He ended with the Lord's Prayer, and then making another Sign of the Cross, sat back in the pew and looked around. He was still alone in the chapel, though Ky had come early. His prayer group wasn't expected to meet for another ten minutes. So, for now, he opted to wait patiently for the others to arrive.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Shouichi Irie
Age: 25
Canon Point: Episode 175 of the anime
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Orientation: Heterosexual
History: Link to Reborn Wiki
Appearance: Link here!

Personality: Even ten years into the future, Shouichi is not much different from his younger self. Like he was at the age of fifteen, he is easily made nervous, though since his time with members of mafia families he is better able to control his uneasiness. Even though during his tenure as a member of the Millefiore Family he acted as a stern, unwavering captain of the Second Rosa Squad of the White Spell, his behavior was merely a cover for his secret cooperation with the rival Vongola Family. In order to save the world from Byakuran’s rule, Shouichi shows a sleeplessly dedicated side of himself. He wants nothing more than to keep the peace of the world in tact by destroying the evil from within. As such, he demonstrates an inherent skill with acting, convincing those around him of false loyalties that in truth lie elsewhere. When forced to drop the act or in any time of extreme distress, Shouichi has a tendency to falter; his stomach turns due to his nervousness.

Shouichi’s competence and interest in technology makes him a desirable prospect to any organization, and was one of many reasons as to how he got involved in the mafia at all. Though at first his desire as a teen to become a musician hindered his academics for a time, trips to the future revealed to him that he was to become an engineer instead. His temperament, particularly the part that dealt with his patient nature, fit with the long hours and years it would take to become such a skilled technician. His interest in robotics led to his meeting of a fellow mechanic, Spanner, who would be a valuable friend during his time with the Millefiore. In comparison to his friend, Shouichi can get much more excitable, particularly when a plan goes awry or he learns about events that could put his life, and the lives of his loved ones and comrades, in danger. Shoiuchi also displays a concern for children as an adult, particularly for the younger Lambo.

It was this concern that caused him to be a bit wary of the plans of the Vongola Decimo to have his Family switch places with their ten-year-younger counterparts. Doing so would put the lives of children on the line, and it was with much convincing and trust of Decimo’s plan that Shouichi agreed. While his main goal was protecting the world —and all its parallel counterparts—seeing lives lost or in danger creates a sense of guilt on his part. It makes him question whether or not his methods or plans are altruistic, or if in actuality his desire to save the world is a sort of selfish hero complex that would ignore the safety of others.

Shouichi values honesty and is insistent on his own, even when it would seem right to question the validity of what often times seems like an unfathomable lie from him. When given the chance, he is very open about his views but is also careful to not insult anyone—though that may be habit developed due to general caution with mafia matters. Despite all his dealings with members of the mob, the supernatural and time travel, Shouichi just wants to live a normal life. Such a life would fit him much better, due to his awkwardness and ineptitude in new environments.

Abilites: Like most mafiosi in the Reborn! universe, Shouichi is capable of harnessing what are called Dying Will Flames. These flames, born out of extreme resolution, come in seven categories known at this canon point. Shouichi holds a flame that is of the Sun Flame, which his is able to ignite with a Ring. At first he believed it was a Mare Ring, a part of the Tri-ni-set class of Rings. However, he learns later that even with its great power it, is not a true Mare Ring. While in possession of this fake Sun Mare Ring, he used it to power Merone Base, the headquarters for the Japanese division of the Millefiore Family. Without a Ring he is virtually powerless, barely physically capable of keeping up in a fist fight. While not demonstrated at this point in his canon, Shouichi also holds the ability to heal with the Sun

Flames due to its Activation attribute.
Other: He is basically blind without his glasses. Also has a tendency to sleep while in the middle of doing things, even changing his clothing.

SAMPLES
First Person:
[ Whoever has the webcam stream turned on at the moment will witness a very panicky Shouichi flailing about and mumbling to himself. It takes him a bit of time to notice that he finally got the stream working. ]

Ah--

[ He pushes his glasses upward, composing himself so as to not look too frazzled to the rest of Holly Heights. ]

H-hello, everyone. So it seems that while I was asleep last night, my car seems to have disappeared... no, I don't mean to accuse anyone! Maybe I forgot to set the brake in place, and that wouldn't surprise me, but its absence from my driveway still causes some concern.

[ Really, though, he has a hard time trusting anyone after what happened directly prior to his move to the community. ]

If you know anything, please contact me right away. I want to know what happened to it before too long. Thank you all for your time.

[ A small bow of his head, and he turns his camera off before quietly worrying to himself again. ]

Third Person:
The papers in his hand seemed to have more weight than was natural for such a small number of items. Really, Shouichi was still letting the whole situation sink in. The last thing he could recall before waking up in that chair on that lawn was laying on cold concrete, bloodied and injured. Yet here he was, standing at a door-- the door to his new home, apparently-- completely fine and without a scratch on him. It was amazing, and it was frightening.

Not that he minded a change. The battlefield was indeed the last place he wanted to be. There was a thought prodding forcefully at the back of his mind, though, that told him this place was too normal. From his greeting the landlord seemed nice. That was surely a given; it would take an extremely kind person to just give up a house like this. And Shouichi knew his wasn't the only one. One look down the street and virtual clones of his property fanned out to his right and left. He shakes his head to clear it, trying to not think too much of it. He had read too many science-fiction stories about utopias and dystopias constructed just like this.

Considering the alternatives he had seen in the past, maybe even a dystopia would be paradise. Whether this place was one or the other was up to him to find out. Taking a breath, he inserts the key into the lock and turns. Hands both firmly on the handle, Shouichi whispers to no one in particular, "I've got nothing to lose here, do I?" and pushes the door open.

[personal profile] tsunsei 2012-04-24 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
History:
Umeda's life really isn't anything too spectacular to talk about, but he did have quite a few things happen to him that shaped him into the person that he became. He grew up in a moderately well off family, knowing that he was gay from a relatively early age. Gay or not though, it didn't really make him appreciate the attention that he got from his older sister (attention in the form of pretty little dress-up sessions) but all things considered that was the least of his problems. By the time he got to high school he was already well on his way to becoming the man that he is, though he certainly wasn't quite the moody man yet. His attentions fell upon another boy in his class, a guy that for lack of a better term turned out to be something of a douchenozzle but that didn't keep Umeda from loving him. In fact in his adult life he still harbours many deep feelings for the other, still keeping in touch with him and internally lamenting over what a jerk he is when he cancels drink dates. While he was stoic sort of boy to begin with, things that happened with Kijima didn't really help to shape him into a trusting or commitment ready person. MOVING ON!

After high school Umeda went on to university, studying in the medical field since that's what he seemed to be suited for. Upon finishing his degree he lost a bet with a mentor, landing himself the job as the school doctor for Osaka High. From there he had many 'adventures' because of his association with Mizuki (the darling heroine in boy's clothing) and all of her friends. Then there were many shenanigans to be had! Everything from keeping Mizuki's secret to dealing with ghostly possessions and back again! Shenanigans, I tell you!

Appearance: He comes from a mixed background, mainly Japanese but he had a 'foreign' grandfather. He's on the taller side, somewhere around six feet tall with reddish-light brown hair and golden/hazel eyes. Perhaps honey is a better way to describe them, idk. He's fit and clearly well-groomed, but since he's rather opposed to exercise and has a penchant for indulging in cigarettes and alcohol. He likes to dress nicely, but doesn't particularly care whether it's brand name stuff or not. He does wear glasses as well, even if he doesn't really need them. Picture!

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Omi Tsukiyono
Age: 17
Canon Point: last episode of Kapitel when the tower collapses.
Species: human
Gender: cis male
Orientation: attracted to opposite anatomy. He had a canon love interest of this category in Ouka.

History:
Omi's real name is Mamoru Takatori, and he is one branch in a very messed-up family tree. At the trunk is a love triangle between two brothers over one woman. The woman, Kikuno, seems to love Shuuichi but ends up marrying the older brother, Reiji. After having two sons with Reiji, she flits off and tangoes with Shuuichi and nine months later comes little Mamoru into the world.

Omi believes Reiji is his father at the point in canon I'm taking him from; Reiji, however, knew the truth for many years and despised Mamoru as a constant reminder of his wife's unfaithfulness. So when Mamoru was kidnapped at the age of 11, Reiji's revenge was to refuse to pay the ransom.

Understandably, this didn't fly over too well for mother or son either one. Kikuno committed suicide. Mamoru, filled with feelings of betrayal and terror as the kidnappers closed in to kill him, squirmed past them and ran out of the room screaming and crying. Omi's real father, Shuuichi, believed the boy to be Reiji's and, in a righteous fury over Kikuno's suicide from the whole debacle, took in Mamoru to begin training him to be his personal assassin.

There's a time gap of between three and four years that spans from Omi's abduction at age 11 to his meeting the three others that will form his team. It is unclear at exactly what age he began training, but the final exercise was to kill the pet dog Shuuichi (now under the alias of "Persia") had given him.

When the series opens, Omi has no memory of anything that happened to him before Weiss. He doesn't remember being kidnapped, who his family is, or even his real name. He does later, however, regain awareness of his true identity, along with memories of both the kidnapping and some pieces of his early childhood.

A character named Schuldig throws Omi into an emotional upheaval by pointing out his hypocrisy in thinking of himself as a good person even though he's just as much a killer as the monsters he hunts down. He falls in love with Ouka, a girl that turns out to be his cousin (but is believed to be his half-sister). Schuldig and Farfarello accidentally kill her trying to shoot him, an act for which Omi has never forgiven them. After an identity crisis that Aya helps to resolve, he disowns his Takatori birth name (significant because this is the first time he actively chooses to dissociate himself with the family), personally murders one of his "brothers," and through Weiss is an accessory to the murder of his "father" Reiji. With Persia having died the same night as Reiji and Ouka already dead, Omi finds himself once again completely alone in terms of blood-related family after only a short time of knowing that he had it in Persia and Ouka.

The first half of the series revolves around exposing the exploits of the Takatori family and Omi's connection to them. In the second half of the series, Weiss reunite to try to stop a group calling themselves Eszett, who have an interest in the sister of another Weiss member, Aya. The final battle takes place in a building off the coast, last seen crumbling into the sea with all of Weiss in it. This is Omi's last memory before arriving in-game.

Appearance:
Omi is short and small-framed, although what mass he does have is sturdy and muscular. He has a round face, blond hair and large blue eyes. His smaller size and often childlike personality are known to give him the appearance of seeming several years younger than he actually is. He seems to have an affinity for shorts and summery clothing and is honestly not that good at fashion judgment. He wears a small silver hoop earring in his left lobe. No tattoos, but his body is dotted with marks and scars from years of assassin work, though his strategy of sniping from long range with projectiles has spared him overall.

Part 2

[personal profile] oneblackcat 2012-04-24 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Omi is the longest-serving member of the third Weiss. Forced to grow up in the physical world far too soon, he frequently seems to possess the mental age of an eleven-year-old. He's pleasant, uncertain, inquisitive, easily flustered, and expressive. Yet Omi simultaneously manages to possess several qualities that mark him as an adult, including independence, dedication, selflessness, diligence, and a keen sense of responsibility.

One can find this dualistic nature in nearly every aspect of Omi's character, which makes him a rather complicated paradox of a person. He seems amiable and friendly on the surface, but his core is very private. He feels the isolation of his lifestyle and craves meaningful relationships, yet his selfless nature and emotional traumas drive him to avoid intimacy. His untreated PTSD causes mental breakdowns and anxiety while his inner strength of will compels him to cope and move forward. His sharp mind detects traps and patterns from the subtlest of clues though it remains blind to simple observations thanks to giant blocks of denial and psychological underdevelopment. He is as fragile as he is strong, as assertive as he is meek, and as mentally dependent as he is physically self-sufficient.

And of course, there is the most obvious juxtaposition of all in his ability to transform from a kind-hearted and bashful schoolboy to a calculating murderer with no mercy for his targets. The Omi that most people see is thoughtful, kind with his words, and always willing and ready to offer reassurance. When Omi dons the name Bombay, it becomes more apparent that underneath that he is ruthless, focused, and tenacious, refusing to accept failure under any circumstances. In the flower shop, Omi has wonderful people skills, naturally compassionate and emotionally attentive to others. On missions, it's an eye for traps and back-up plans for his back-up plans.

It is this darker side of his life to which Omi has dedicated himself completely, driven by idealism and dreams of an age that will be safe for innocent life and free of human scum. His ultimate goal is a day in which Weiss is no longer necessary. It's a goal he knows he won't live to see, but he's determined to push it forward as far as he can anyway.

The reason Omi is able to make this transformation has nothing to do with a split personality. Regardless of whether he's answering to Omi or Bombay, all of his actions are the product of a ruthless mind driven by a kind heart, thus creating a pattern of behavior in which Omi does all the wrong things but for all the right reasons. His basing the morality of his actions on his intentions serves as a blanket justification for him to manipulate, lie, cheat, steal, spy, and kill with little to no remorse attached.

Towards those he considers good, this means his kind heart shows with ease but he'll deceive them in a second for a cause he deems worthy; not even his teammates are exempt from this treatment. Towards those he considers bad, namely mission targets, Omi has no compassion at all and only the ruthless mind will be visible. These people have forfeited their humanity in his eyes. He can take their lives for the sake of protecting others and smile the next day without even considering himself a murderer, because in his mind, he's not killing people. He's killing monsters.

Thankfully, Omi's definition of "bad" is pretty strong, so he won't classify a person as that just for being flawed. Very few people make it into that category, but once they do, they're toast.

Between his young age of starting Weiss and his amnesia of everything prior, Omi has no understanding of what it means to have a truly normal lifestyle, and consequently has trouble actually trying to live it. He's inclined to become restless and frustrated when he doesn't have Weiss as a justification to hunt those who hurt the people around him.

Furthermore, Omi may be a master at manipulation, but that doesn't keep him from being rather susceptible to it himself. Because he assumes most people are good, he may show a healthy degree of caution but more often than not is likely to give them the benefit of the doubt that they're being honest with him. He's also quite impressionable, completely lacking a mental anchor not based in what other people have told him to think, to do, and to be. Multiple times throughout the series, he falters when his beliefs are challenged, proving to have no defense against these challenges save simple denial.

Another of Omi's flaws is that he frequently avoids showing his true feelings around people. He has a strong tendency to dodge and push away efforts to get close to him. Similarly, Omi does not seek out help from others even when he should, having grown up self-reliant by necessity. Only in rare instances will he confide in another. Not helped by his tendency to hide things is an inclination towards dishonesty, though in most cases he's simply pushing his goals of the moment to fruition.

But for all of Omi's shortcomings in both character and psychology, his single most defining characteristic is his kindness. It is the motivating factor behind everything he does. As atrocious as his actions may be sometimes, his intentions are always selfless, and he would lay down his life for an innocent in a heartbeat.

To sum him up in a single paragraph, Omi is a study in dichotomy and contradiction. He's cheerful but somewhat withdrawn, intelligent but somewhat blindsided, mature but somewhat childlike, and kind-hearted but somewhat manipulative. His strong idealism and appreciation for life give him an aura of happiness on the surface while angst and depression plague his core. He's psychologically complex, but his attitudes are rather simple: protect the innocent, destroy the guilty, and whenever possible, bask in life's little tokens of joy. He's sweet, friendly, charming, sometimes clueless, and utterly merciless against a marked target.

Abilities:
Omi has a skill set from each of his two jobs. The first job is that of a florist, and as such he's got plenty of experience in arranging bouquets and caring for flowers. He also has an extensive vocabulary in the language of flowers, and is not shy about using this knowledge to send tailored messages to people through a bundle of flora.

The second job, of course, is that of an assassin. Omi is able to use a multitude of projectile-type weapons (canon examples include throwing knives, bow and arrow, crossbow, and poison darts) with flawless precision, so he has masterful aim. As a wielder of those weapons, Omi acts as a sniper, making his kills by hiding in the shadows and striking from a distance. He's trained in combat and able to defend himself against most normal humans, although he is more the sort to evade and let the opponent's own momentum become their downfall (tripping or letting punches connect to the brick wall behind him instead of his face). He has impressive reflexes and agility, making it difficult to attain a hit on him. He also possesses excellent stamina thanks to regular exercise. Although raw strength is not his forte (and demonstrably not favored in his hand-to-hand fighting style), Omi has more than ample muscle to take care of himself and someone else of similar or smaller size.

He has years of training and experience with the art of stealth as a result of his attack strategy, so he knows how to move around without being easily seen or heard. Someone with good instincts or who's trained in detecting such people could find him, but the average person should not.

Outside of physical abilities, Omi is highly intelligent. His thinking and problem-solving skills are top-notch so long as the subject isn't treading into self-examination. He shows himself to be clever, resourceful and innovative in tackling the various obstacles that come between him and his goals. For example, on encountering an electrified fence, Omi climbed a tree, tied a rope to a crossbow arrow, then shot the arrow at a downward angle into a tree on the other side so that Weiss could cross the fence by riding the rope.

Omi is similarly crafty with facts and words when talking, enabling him to manipulate and deceive people with strategic half-truths. He's a smooth liar so long as he isn't put on the spot, and on several missions takes on a disguise-- both the look and the act. He's become a casino waiter, a female(!) flight attendant, a careless and flirty clubber, the list goes on. Even his own appearance is a deception; one would never imagine the wide-eyed, innocent-sounding smiler in the flower shop to be a competent assassin. He's very good at taking on whatever role is required of him.

Additionally, Omi acts as Weiss's tech guy. He demonstrates high prowess in the field of technological sabotage. Whether it's infiltrating an electronic security system, decoding an encrypted message, or remotely hijacking the PA system, Omi is a whiz at gaining unauthorized access into anything that involves computers. He's also been known to use these computer skills in mission planning, such as in compiling location data for X, Y, and Z incidents to calculate a likely headquarters.

This is less an ability in its own right and more a product of other assets, but Omi has some very solid leadership skills. He's sympathetic, considerate of others, dedicated, and responsible. He's passionate about his work and the inner values that fuel it, however twisted that sense of morals may be. He has a clear picture of success, why it's important and how to attain it. He has a keen sense of initiative, ever self-motivated to pursue goals, be they personal or professional. And he possesses a personality driven to at least attempt motivating others, although his success rate may vary. He is the mediator of Weiss and the glue that holds them together.

Other:
♦ It can be tempting to consider Bombay as distinct from Omi, particularly given the apparent shift in his personality. My interpretation is that just as a person, on having a child, becomes "Mom" or "Dad" in name and role but remains the same person, Bombay is not a separate identity but a part of his identity. On technical terms, it is a proper name that signifies Omi is in his assassin-mode mentality, though he may act with this mindset outside assassin work. As Bombay, Omi tends to be more focused, alert, calculating and determined. In turn, the side of him that is awkward, uncertain, and boyish is significantly less visible. It is also noteworthy that Bombay is no less kind or more ruthless than Omi (see the manner in which Bombay interacts with Shouta at the end of ep 7, and Omi's readiness to throw a poison dart at Schuldig purely for saying a few things he doesn't like in episode 11).

♦ In spite of being a dangerous killer, Omi has this weird quirk that he'll just randomly lose his balance. Ironically, it never seems to happen when one would think him to be most vulnerable to it (like landing from an awkward jump), but when he's moving about normally. On one occasion he fell while doing nothing more active than holding a flowerpot. It's rare, but it happens.

SAMPLES
First Person:
Protect the Innocent.

Third Person:
Another day of merciless cheer from the sun. Omi wiped the sweat from his brow before climbing off Koneko's scooter at the curb of the apartment tower. Hot though it was that August afternoon, he appreciated the sunshine and the clear, bright sky that held it. Even after accounting for the lack of a cooling breeze, he'd rather buy a soda on his way back than see the sun go into hiding behind a storm cloud.

No, it wasn't the heat that ever bothered him. Ever since first term ended for summer vacation, the days seemed not uncomfortably hot, but uncomfortably vacant. Despite upgrading to full-time work in Weiss's flower shop, he could not fill the temporal void created from the end of five to six days a week in classes plus a few hours of schoolwork most evenings. Certainly, it had felt liberating and relaxing for a week or so. Then he started feeling restless and went through all of his homework. Then he began to have to confront that emptiness as more than an excess of free time. Most teenagers had interests and hobbies to pursue-- building model planes; painting; playing soccer. Most teenagers had a few friends to call up and invite over to watch a movie or to talk about that cute girl working at the tea shop. Most teenagers had a parent in need of help with cooking or cleaning or running to the store for milk and eggs.

Omi knew and accepted that he was not a normal teenager, but awareness alone did not fix the central problem: it was not his time that was empty.

Such thoughts were not at the forefront of his mind, however, as he rode the stuffy elevator up several stories with a potted arrangement. Omi could lose himself in either of his two jobs, which was almost enough to make him consider a third one as the solution to his bothersome lack of a full schedule and the brooding that it tended to inspire. If not for the fact second term would be starting in just a few weeks, he'd have taken the idea more seriously. As it was, such an act would be largely pointless.

He approached the door number on the order and rang the bell, doing his best to smile around the mass of blossoms in his arms while he waited for an answer. It wouldn't do for the customer to get less than stellar friendliness from the delivery boy. Omi would simply have to weather the stillness in the air with the same unwavering cheer as the sun.

No one should have to know about the gloomy storm clouds that lurked behind it.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Kyouya Ootori
Age: 17
Canon Point: End-series, anime verse.
Species: Human! ... though some might consider him a demon 8|... He's makes scary things happen in scary amounts of time.
Gender: Male. With the mental male.
Orientation: Just saying, this took me hours to figure out. ... Uhhh... Ambiguous. Kyouya... doesn't really show an affinity one way or another. Sure, he charms the ladies, but is it for personal gain or is it sincere? Noooo one knooows. ... So place him with either when the time comes.

History:
Kyouya grew up as the third-born son to the wealthy Ootori family, who owns a large portion of the medical field. With two very smart older brothers, and an older sister, there was little hope for him amounting to much. Or so he thought. The first glimpse we get into Kyouya’s past late in the series depicts him as a calculating boy, who agrees to attend social events to only better the Ootori name with the other student’s respective businesses. He seems to have a mental file on everyone he talks to, maintaining a polite persona, even if he dislikes them.

The head of the Ootori family, Kyouya’s father, is an immensely strict man, who sets his standards to almost impossibly high standards, claiming them normal for the Ootori family. He blatantly told Kyouya that he would not be impressed by high grades and class president, but had to go beyond that of which his brothers had done in order to gain his approval. Kyouya accepted this responsibility readily. The relationship between he and his family, save for his older sister, is very business like. And at this point in time, Kyouya believes he is not to outstep the boundaries set by the accomplishments of his brothers. After all, he is the third son.

This is best represented in the series by a painting. Kyouya has found a good middle ground within his boundaries (the frame), between maintaining the Ootori name and not surpassing his brothers. This was a painting he was meant to continue forever within the same four walls.

And then he met Tamaki.

Tamaki turned Kyouya’s world completely upside down without even realizing it. He met a 14 year old Tamaki in middle school, when he was told to befriend him by his father to gain interest in the Suou family. ‘Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.’ Kyouya, upon first impression of Tamaki, considered him a complete idiot. He was a foreigner with overdramatized ideals about how the Japanese culture worked, and a near obsession with seeing parts of Japan. Tamaki also flat out broke the unspoken rule of avoidance of touch in Japan by grabbing onto Kyouya quite dramatically and clinging onto him when the spoiled Tamaki got his way.

Kyouya was taken back by this, but remained in his cool position. First a kotatsu, and then a vacation to Kyoto, then to Okinawa. Nothing satiated the young Suou, and he was always left wanting more and doubting Kyouya’s abilities. This nearly made a madman out of Kyouya, who planned an ultimate vacation and furthermore prepared himself to answer every single one of Tamaki’s stupid questions.

… Only for it to be shot down by Tamaki, claiming that always going out on vacations was childish and Kyouya should study more. This was, slowly, pushing Kyouya to his breaking point. Tamaki had already doubted his abilities, blended right into the class without him even realizing it, and now, insulted him by calling him childish. He was ready to burst at the seams.

The next encounter he had with Suou Tamaki was life-changing. Tamaki had come to visit him in his home while he was away, and had been entertaining his family with his immense piano skill. Kyouya was more than surprised, not because of the skill, not because of the tears he could see in his brothers eyes, but because he was caught off guard by the tears he felt himself. Nothing had really affected him like this.

After the display, the two go into Kyouya’s room to chat. Tamaki asks why Kyouya isn’t taking the Ootori company, which makes Kyouya quite aggravated. Tamaki says that his eyes are not satisfied with the current situation and that he is more zealous than his brothers. This… well… This is where Kyouya completely snaps. He flips a table, and ends up on top of Tamaki, gripping his shirt like he’s going to punch him. He then yells at Tamaki, angry because everything’s been handed to him—he doesn’t have to work to inherit his family’s company, and he’s given up without trying.

Tamaki, who adapts a serious face, tells him that he’s the one who hadn’t been trying and if he wanted to surpass his brothers, he should do it. Suou Tamaki had seen right through him.

This begins an epic transformation within Kyouya. Suddenly, the ‘walls’ of his canvas are gone, and he is able to really blossom, and explore outside of his boundaries. Tamaki is right. He has the ability to surpass his siblings, and shouldn’t be held down because of his place in the family. Kyouya, overcome with relief, busts out laughing, and thus, a beautiful friendship formed.

In reality, Kyouya joins the Host Club not only because it was a ‘crazy idea’ but because it was something his brothers had never done, and thus, a way to surpass them. Thus, the Shadow King is born.

Towards the end of the series, the Host Club, throws a public event in which Kyouya’s father slaps him across the face, saying it was a waste of time, and ridiculous. This is a very humiliating thing, but Kyouya keeps his cool demeanor, as if nothing had happened. If there’s one thing Kyouya had learned, it was how to dish out revenge of the sorts. In the end of the series, it is revealed that Kyouya had surpassed his father’s expectations by saving the company from a third-party buyer by buying the company himself, then turning rights back over to his father.

Kyouya Ootori | Ouran High School Host Club | Reserved Pt2 of...?

[personal profile] glassesflash 2012-04-25 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Appearance: A little something like this! ... But... sometimes... It's like this...
Personality:
Ootori Kyouya is not someone who is easy to put into a nutshell. He hides many of his traits behind the cool type persona he has created through his time at the Host Club. To really get in deep to his mindworkings is nighimpossible. Here’s the mun’s best attempt at it.

Kyouya is known as the Cool type in the Host Club. It really fits him well. He is known to remain calm and cool in most situations, and always keeps this cool, polite demeanor with customers and even people he might see as profitable. He is almost poetic when he speaks with customers, but more casual when irritated, or among Tamaki or other Host Club friends. Kyouya’s appearance is always clean, kept, and pressed, and he commonly crosses his arms, or has one hand in his pocket, feeding into that Cool type he’s so well known for.

Ninety-five percent of the time, Kyouya keeps his cool, even in the most averse of situations. It takes him a lot to really become angry. He’s definitely not someone you want to irritate either. He has a horrible habit of capturing the most wonderful blackmail, or will exact revenge by choosing specific information to give. Worst case scenario, he slams his fist into a car and dents the living hell out of it. We’re not talking a ding. We’re talking replace the hood smash.

But that’s only five percent of the time. Any other given moment, Kyouya is mostly quiet, opting to sit back and watch the most amusing of situations unfold. Kyouya knows when to divulge most information, and will do so when it is most opportune for him, and he’s seen no more use in letting the situation drag on any further. He’s also usually the first to remind someone that they have a debt to pay, or a contract to fulfill. This includes ridiculous plans that his fellow Club members dream up. He’ll punch holes in them if not for profit. He’s just that guy.

Kyouya claims himself an egoist, and that he won’t do anything unless profit is involved in some way, almost responding in a very apathetic way when profit isn’t involved. Whether it is rapport for the Ootori family, or his own personal gain. However, this is shown to be not necessarily true. Haruhi so graciously pointed out that he has done things to help people without a sincere reason. Kyouya doesn’t like to see people taking an easy way in. He’s very honest, and does not like to see liars, cheaters, cheapskates, or anything like that. He’ll point out these people very blatantly. Most of all, Kyouya does not like owing people. Anything. Ever.

Kyouya often messes with the members of the Host Club. He seems to spur on competition for his own amusement, using things that he knows the club members like, be them pictures of Haruhi, or even their favorite food dishes. This is his own way of having fun in the club. Though he will watch these events unfold, he will not allow the Host Club to come into bad light. After all, he is a business man.

The next thing to know about Kyouya is that he is one hell of a manipulator. He knows exactly what to say in most situations to get the pieces to fall into their perfect place. Kyouya sees through people easily, but doesn’t allow many to see through him. Kyouya tends to control most situations with things like blackmail, reminder of debts, or some kind of reward. Like any curious, manipulative person, he has certain questions he absolutely must know the answer to, and usually knows how to obtain such answers. With always something to gain, this manipulative bugger is not one to be trifled with.

Something interesting about Kyouya. He is a creature of habit. He will manipulate a situation to his advantage as soon as he meets someone. Be it they’re tied to a very wealthy ally or what, he analyzes them in a moment’s notice. He still does this to this day. However, meeting Tamaki changed a bit of that for him. The difference? Before he met Tamaki, these judgments were shallow. Had no meaning. After, he had motivation to surpass his brothers, thus gaining something from every ally he made. Another brief point to bring up in regards to manipulation is how the Host Club is structured. Kyouya seems to use Tamaki for his charm, the Hitachiin twins for their rowdy brute strength, and Honey and Mori as intimidation. Just a perception.

... Speaking of perception, Kyouya has a lot of it. He was the first to notice that Haruhi was a girl when she stepped into the Host Club for the first time, just by looking at her. He uses this perception to his advantages, which makes him very aware to most situations.

Kyouya has earned the nickname the Shadow King when it comes to the Host Club. Because of his excessive control of the situation and obvious influence on Tamaki, he is sometimes thought to run the show—at least in the behind the scenes. If ever confronted about this, he claims that the Host Club would not exist without Tamaki. This is an area where Kyouya excels in the club, managing most of club finances, most of their activities, the china they serve, where they order their sweets, even down to how they make their money, Kyouya takes care of it all.

Not only this, but he collects data and basic research on any and all Host Club customers. He is almost always with a notebook or computer in his hands, jotting down notes on friends or customers, or handling business. Workaholic much? You bet. He stays up rather late from time to time. Kyouya also gets feedback from customers, just to make sure the Host Club keeps up with its standards.

It’s a known fact that Kyouya sells club members merchandise for profit. He’s known to sell personal items, or even photobooks that have been photoshopped of some of the favorite members. They are a popular group after all. Kyouya is quite happy when in profit, but immensely down when profits slump.

The Host Club can be considered the only real friends of Kyouya, and most of them are kept at arm’s length. They likely don’t know a whole lot about his past or history, but some of them have indicated they don’t like his father. Particularly Honey. Still, this rag-tag group almost acts as a separate family for him. Haruhi, next to Tamaki, has the greatest effect on him. … Which… really isn’t that much. He almost cares for her in an older brother way, and will point out lessons to her in a very forceful, blunt way. It isn’t meant to be mean, but he knows Haruhi will understand. In return, Haruhi is able to ping Kyouya as more helpful than he thinks to strangers. He gets along with Hikaru and Kaoru for a most part and is generally unsurprised by Kaoru’s maturity and Hikaru’s immaturity. Although, he does commend Kaoru on his plotting ability. Both Honey and Mori are fine in his book, through he is not seen to interact with them often. I gather that he respects them, and they respect him.

Tamaki gets a special section, because of the impact he has had on Kyouya’s life. As stated in the history, Tamaki really changed Kyouya’s view of things and really set him free from the confines of staying below his brothers. Tamaki often refers to himself as ‘tousan’ or father. Inevitably, Kyouya got tagged with the nickname ‘kaasan’ or mother. And it’s true. He really is the mother of the Host Club. He generally goes along with most of Tamaki’s ridiculous antics including commoner’s games, and even stares in almost disbelieving awe when the boy rants about his dreams, usually behind the glare of his glasses.

That… does not mean he pulls his punches with him. He will just as readily shoot down ridiculous notions and check Tamaki back into reality if he must. At the same time, he is rather protective of Tamaki and will not allow serious trouble or ill things to befall him. Back on the other hand, Kyouya is known to leave certain pamphlets or magazines around Tamaki so that he gets the idea to host an event regarding them. Hey. Kyouya. Your manipulation is showing.

Kyouya claims there is no likeness between he and Tamaki, though evidence has suggested otherwise. (Helping people without profit…etc). He has a soft spot for Tamaki because he is, essentially, his exact opposite. Selflessness vs. Selfishness. Kyouya can also read Tamaki like a book. He very well knows Tamaki has a thing for Haruhi, as he confides this in Kaoru at one point. However, this is one of those situations he decides to let play out.

Kyouya, like many people, quite enjoys when Tamaki plays piano, as it is very moving. It surprised him greatly when he was younger. … A lot of things about Tamaki surprised him when he was younger. Over the years, it seems like this has gone down.

… Lastly, even though Kyouya will never admit it out loud, he cannot resist Tamaki’s puppy dog eyes look.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Republic Of Lithuania (Lietuvos Respublika) | Toris Laurinaitis (Human Name) | Commonly known as Lithuania
Age: Depending on where you take the countries age from, it can vary. Normally, people use the first mention of the country in historical context, which was in 1009, making him 1003 as of this February. Either way, he looks around 19.
Canon Point: Modernized / Present Day ; December 2011
Species: Personified Nation
Gender: Male, both biologically and mentally
Orientation: While I can prattle on all day about how big of a subconscious bisexual he is, he's currently interested in one woman and one woman only AND has only ever come onto one person, aka the woman in question. At least intentionally. Concerning marriage, however, he has been married in the past, to a man, for strictly business purposes. He has no real preference since this relationship isn't romantic, therefore not something concerning gender or his orientation to him.
History: History & Canon. Also a profile if you scroll down a ways.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Haruna Saotome
Age: 15
Canon Point: End of Period 294, having crashed into the Gravekeeper's Palace.
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Orientation: Heterosexual

History: Happy to provide more detail if the wiki link isn't sufficient.
Appearance: Haruna's Pactio Outfit

Seeing as Haruna doesn't always walk around with her pactio artifact out (and seeing as she won't even have her artifact when she first arrives) there are times where she wears more general street clothing such as shirts and pants. There are also times where she has dressed up as a maid and times where she wears an apron over her clothing. Additionally there is her schol uniform too.

Personality: Prior to learning about magic and the magical world, Haruna was a normal high school student at Mahora Academy in the Kanto region who enjoyed drawing and spending time with her friends. When Negi Springfield showed up, a ten year old prodigy, Haruna immediately homed in on one of her friends feelings for the child teacher, Nodoka, and tried to set the two of them up together. As the story progresses and more and more students start confessing their love and other feelings for Negi, Haruna is quick to support her friends in their 'battle' for Negi's heart. Needless to say, Haruna is a massive shipper of everything and even the smallest little hint of love can set off alarm bells in Haruna's head that something is afoot. It's even been said that Haruna is capable of smelling love from afar given how experienced she is with giving relationship advice and picking up on the smallest details when people interact.

At times Haruna can be cruel and teasing towards her friends, going as far as to draw out what she would do to her friends for them deciding to keep magic a secret from her. Whips were involved. Blackmailing others to get the latest gossip and throwing around silly threats like 'I could kill you one thousand times for keeping secrets from me' are not beneath her. Even with her threats and talk of sharing secrets because that's what friends do, Haruna is notorious for spewing gossip like no tomorrow. As soon as she learns about magic Haruna decides to bring it up with two other library workers out of the blue despite acknowledging the fact her friends had no choice but to keep magic a secret given the circumstances. Additionally, despite knowing Anya (a childhood friend of Negi's) wouldn't take well to knowing Negi kissed some of the girls in his class, Haruna has no reservations of telling Anya about this. Luckily her classmates silence her before she can finish telling Anya the details. Haruna is also a rumour mill in her own right and more often than not the latest goings on and news around the school can be traced back to her eventually. Basically no secret is safe from her, though she does hold a few exceptions. She keeps Yue's affection for Negi a secret from Nodoka before she finds out for herself, showing that Haruna does have some boundaries when it comes to gossip and her own friends.

When not teasing her friends or being cheerful, Haruna can also become very serious and caring for her friend's well being. Upon finding out about Yue's feelings for Negi she embraces her friend and holds her close, explaining how it's not her fault for falling in love and sometimes you just can't control who you fall for. Much later in the story when it is revealed that the magical world and mars are one and the same Haruna takes on a sudden serious stance on the issue when explaining this to rest of her classmates in the magical world.

She's rarely a shy person and is often the one to take the initiative to get to know others better and make friends, even if it seems like the person she's trying to make friends with isn't interested. During a flashback where Haruna is shown to be meeting Yue for the first time she's the one to first start a conversation between the two of them and she comes off as being incredibly friendly despite the two only just meeting, bringing up rumours she's heard about Mahora Academy and trying to spur on a conversation. Haruna later offers to walk home with Yue despite Yue acting a little cold and subdued in response. Similarly another one of her classmates, Chisame, is reserved and tends to keep to herself as she's heavily anchored to reality and doesn't take well to the whole 'magical world' thing. Despite Chisame being less than friendly, Haruna always laughs and teases her as though they are proper friends. Haruna is always outgoing and friendly and it takes an awful lot to bring her down.

Haruna has proven herself to be a quick and tactical thinker who can easily pull together a plan in the most dire of situations. Upon being flung out into the magical world we hear nothing of Haruna until she appears a few volumes later. In her time off screen she managed to scrape together 150, 000 drachma on her own, presumably by making a profit on her commissions and drawing prowess and then used that money to buy a giant flying goldfish/air ship and name it The Great Paru-sama. After this she starts travelling all over the magical world looking for her friends rather than waiting for her friends to find her. Her great mind when it comes to thinking out plans and thinking strategically also comes up repeatedly whenever Haruna is shown locked in battle on her airship or caught up in a fight. She's quick to shout out commands, ask about the condition of her ship and generally take control of the situation, as well as being able to come up with new strategies on the fly. Furthermore she's shown to sketch out plans and sum up situations for her classmates and Negi (collectively known as Ala Alba), seemingly able to understand and keep track of all the recent goings on in regards to the magical world.

Being a manga artist, often writing her own material and being a member of the Manga Club at Mahora, Haruna has proven herself to be ridiculously genre savvy. When first hearing Chamo talk, an ermine, she's quick to comment that a talking ermine isn't the sort of mascot you would expect a magical girl to have. She often compares the world around her to movies and manga plotlines and even goes as far as to call the concept of 'magic' cliché when she first hears of its existence. Even in the thick of battle Haruna can't resist calling their situation their 'Hollywood B-movie scene' and even compares the battle to a giant monster showdown. She's not afraid of flaunting around her knowledge of manga and has no reservations when it comes to showing her friends an 18+ doujin at Comiket, even going as far as to explain the content with a smile.

When it comes to battles, love or anything else that gets the adrenaline pumping, Haruna has shown to become incredibly enthusiastic about the situation. She becomes incredibly loud and even laughs out loud when going over Ala Alba's plans to save Anya and Asuna. Her volume is also commented on by Yue when they first meet at Mahora Academy, referring to Haruna as 'the loud one'. Her enthusiasm seems to sweep away all of Haruna's priorities as she can become incredibly engrossed in what she's doing. When she first starts training with her artifact she becomes so excited that she completely forgets about her drawing deadlines and doesn't even consider the homework she still needed to do past that until a classmate reminds her.

Whilst such enthusiasm might be seen as a fault, given Haruna forgets about her hobby and schoolwork in favour of training, she's also an incredibly dedicated worker when the time calls for it. Employing both her strategic mind and incredible focus she can pull off amazing feats such as finishing the work for her deadlines in only a few hours by using her artifact and drawing furiously, non-stop until her work is done. Even with training and keeping up with her hobby Haruna still does well in class.

Haruna has a sort of 'evil streak' about her and she occasionally comments on her plans to take over the magical world when she arrives there. Whilst her classmates aren't too sure if she's being serious or not their shocked and terrified reactions make it seem as though they believe her. When Haruna mentions she intends to sweep the magical world as a 'Great literary... No, a great manga master!!' her friends don't know what to make her wanting to take over the magical world in that respect but they think that Haruna can pull it off. She's often assessing how different events in the magical world will be useful to her, seeing a ball held at the Governor General as being 'a networking treasure trove' and even thinking twice about pulling out of a battle because running away might look bad on her, considering she one day wants to 'rule this world'.

Her sense of humour can range from fairly normal, to a little mean to full on perverted at times. Haruna frequently gives her friends nicknames or refers to them as couples and tropes, such as calling Nodoka and Yue the 'wife-mistress couple' and calling Yue 'the grim and annoying one with the forehead of doom'. Her perverted side comes out when comparing her underwear with the her other friends and even during fights, specifically during one where she needs to retreat and she has second thoughts about leaving her allies and 'the princess' beautiful breasts'.

Abilites: Haruna possesses a magical artifact known as 'Imperium Graphices' which allows anything that Haruna draws to come to life as a golem and act for either as long as Haruna wants, until the drawing expires (some have time limits) or until the golem is destroyed. In the past Haruna has used her artifacts powers for escaping enemies, fooling people by creating decoys and for creating copies of herself in order to meet the latest deadlines for her work. If the drawings aren't detailed enough to come to life on their own then Haruna can add notes to the drawings to specify what she expects the drawing to do, for example her 'Shield Maiden' drawing has small notes with added details, as does her design for 'Dark Nodoka'. If a golem is damaged then Haruna takes one percent of the damage the golem took.

Seeing as 'anything' is a pretty big field for Haruna to play around in, in the event she got her hands back on her artifact here let's say any vehicle she drew could not come to life, what with the convertibles being around. For a canon example, Haruna could not draw in her Flying Manta Ray. It can fly don'tcha know. Similarly she couldn't draw working wings for anyone like she does for Asuna and the wings would only be for looks. Even with that restriction 'anything' might seem a little broad, so I'll be happy to nerf Haruna's abilities even further if need be in the event she got her artifact back, e.g. only being able to bring to life one drawing at a time or putting a time limit on all her creations.

Past her artifact, Haruna is an expert artist and is more than capable of drawing anything she or anyone else can think up. She publishes her own manga series around Mahora Academy and has reserved tables at Comiket in the past for publishing her work for her summer deadline. She writes all her own plots and stories and she covers a wide number of genres, some of her favourites being magical girl styled releases and eroge. Her works are signed under her pen name of 'Paru' which has also become her nickname to her friends, though she occasionally refers to herself as Paru too... Or as 'the Great Paru-sama', like her airship, when her ego shows up. She regularly carries around a folder of 'stock drawings' showing off her recent sketches whilst also acting as a bank of different golems when used with her artifact mentioned before. Furthermore as Haruna is a member of the 'Library Exploration Club' she has experience with grappling hooks, harnesses and all sorts of climbing equipment for getting around Library Island. Their libraries have cliffs, waterfalls, trees, booby traps and about everything else you would expect not to find in a library, so knowing how to climb is a must to be a part of the club!

Other: I'm not sure if this is worth mentioning or not, but just in case here are some quick notes:
- Haruna has brown/dark hair in the manga as opposed to the Negima anime and the OVA where she is shown to have green hair. This Haruna is taken from the manga.
- Whilst Negima has finished and has been fully scanlated I am only playing off what material has been officially translated and is available for purchase at this time. As such whilst the ending is readily available online and whatever other plot points that might show up in the next few chapters I am choosing not to read ahead in order to avoid spoilers and stay true to the official translation.

SAMPLES
First Person:

[The webcam turns on to show Haruna sitting in front of her computer with a familiar grin spread all over her face.]

You know, computers are more Chisame's thing but I think I could get used to this. Just don't expect me to take any shots of me in cosplay on this thing and throw them up on a blog for you guys to glare at~!

[Not that the internet even works here, red screen of death be damned. The grin seems to widen following Haruna pointing directly at the camera.]

Speaking of ogling girls, do any of you guys out there have your eyes on anyone? It's hard for me to tell through a computer screen, but there's a stench of love around this place and it can't be ignored! Perhaps some of you have feelings for your new hubby which you never expected to have until now? Come on, share the details with the Great Paru!

[There's a pause as she waits to see if there's any sort of response to her question. Quickly, she tries to sweeten the deal to spur on some replies.]

If you need help confessing to your crush then don't worry, I'm here for ya'. We can work out a romantic rendezvous for the two of you, the perfect setting for a heartfelt admittance of love! I'll even keep watch on the two of you to make sure everything goes to plan, sounds good right?!

[This doesn't sound like she intends to set two people up and spy on how they get along at all. Nope. With that Haruna settles back into her chair and waits for a response.]

(For an extra sample of her voice there are also her threads on the test drive meme if you don't mind me using that.)

Third Person:
The brilliant sunshine today was motivation enough for Haruna to step out of the house and wander the streets just to enjoy the weather. Compared to the recent events back home it seemed there was less and less time to just enjoy the simple things anymore. Sure the simple, everyday things like good weather were nothing compared to the airship battles and big fights back home but maybe a little time off from the magical world is just what she needs.

Eventually, having walked down a couple of blocks of eerily similar houses, lawns and cars, Haruna settles down on the sidewalk and breaks out her notepad and pen. Her intention is to just enjoy the sun and maybe doodle a little before going to work or finishing her homework at the last minute, but when she notices a few other people pacing back on forth on their own ways here and there she starts to draw them. Simple sketches at first, but then...

"Hey! Everyone outside enjoying the weather! Hows about a caricature to remember the good weather? Won't even charge you for 'em, so come on down!"

When people start rolling in Haruna smiles to herself, rips off her page of doodles and starts working on the exaggerated features of the gentleman she's now drawing.

"Make sure to tell your friends who drew this for you, okay? Paru! I take commissions too!"

No matter where she was, be it back home, the magical world, or wherever she was now, she intends to keep working hard on her dreams of becoming a world famous manga artist. Or in this case a Holly Heights famous artist anyway. Sure it was a simple dream compared to the coliseum battles back home and general magical mayhem, but yes, this time away from the magical world is just what she needs.

OTHER
Housing Request?: Fine with anything, throw her wherever you want if she gets in. I don't think she'll be getting any cast mates so there's no real preference. If a Negima character does show up then I wouldn't mind Haruna being housed with them! Otherwise, like I said, I'm fine with whatever.
Did you read the rules and FAQ?: Rules? Yup, read 'em and the FAQ too!

[personal profile] exhibition 2012-04-25 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Lotus ( Hazuki Kashiwabara )
Age: 40
Canon Point: Post true-end ; while riding in the car.
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Orientation: Heterosexual. She has children (that were naturally born..), and openly flirts with some of the males in the game.

History: boop.
Appearance: bleep.
Personality:
At first glance, Lotus seems like a pretty unlikable woman. She’s rather smug and arrogant, seems very selfish and self-serving, demanding, lazy, prone to anger, and always seems like she knows more than she’s letting on. She’s cryptic in a way, and doesn’t release information much. Truly, she comes off very abrasive, and tends to make you think she only cares about herself.

Actually, most of this isn’t true. While she is smug, she isn’t selfish or self serving at all. ‘Lazy’ also wouldn’t be a very appropriate word to describe her. Instead, Lotus is a very logical thinker. She tries not to allow her emotions to get in the way of her decisions, and is very decisive. She has a clear way of thinking and in the game, is trying to save as many people as possible, even though it seems like she’s only trying to save herself.

She’s actually very caring, too. She doesn’t admit it, but she wants all of the people trapped on the boat to survive. She doesn’t want anyone to die. This is shown in the true ending, when she’s willing to sacrifice herself so the others can escape, and when they’re trapped in the torture room and she volunteers to sit in the electric chair to solve the puzzle.

Lotus puts on a façade of moodiness, but in actuality, she’s very soft inside. She’s just as human as the other characters, and is just as scared, confused, and worried, though it seems like it isn’t affecting her at all. She tries to keep in high spirits and just act normal, hoping that it rubs off on the others and calms their nerves.

What comes off as laziness and reluctance is actually false. Instead, Lotus doesn’t do things when she knows there’s nothing she can do. When Santa, Junpei, and June get trapped in the freezer, after tugging on the door for a minute, she sits back and waits, as she knows there’s nothing more she can do. It would be foolish to waste her energy when she’s aware the door won’t open by conventional means.

All in all, Lotus is actually a very good person. First and foremost, she’s a mother, and she shows this side to the others late in the game, being concerned about their well-being and the problems at hand. While she does have a fiery attitude, she’s in no way a bad person, and only wants for as many people as possible to escape from the boat. She has a playful sense of humor and her motherly instincts kick in a lot, spurring motivational speeches and insightful reasoning from her experience.
Abilites: Normal human. She is a skilled hacker, however.
Other: She has.. a penchant for dressing outlandishly, like a dancer..

Aoi Asahina | Dangan Ronpa | Reserved

[personal profile] donuts5ever 2012-04-26 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
History: Most dangan ronpa characters don't have a whole lot of background information, so I'm gonna go over what little we do know and what's happened to her so far in canon.

What we do know is that she's been swimming for a long time and that she often got teased in school for being over energetic. She's broken swimming records all across the country and was recently added into japan's olympic swimming team. Other than that she's had a fairly normal life until she was dragged into the hope academy, which became the despair academy after monobear took over. Now along with a class of fifteen she's stuck in the school, unless she decides to participate in the graduation ritual. Graduating requires that Asahina kill one of her classmates and get away with it; she would have to survive a trial of her peers in order to graduate and everyone else would die as a result of her graduation. Asahina of course, has not tried to murder anyone but several people have already died from the canon point that I've taken her from.

Appearance: image link

Personality: Aoi Asahina isn't a very complicated person. Her normal everyday demeanor is that of a confident, energetic, and slightly ditzy young lady. When the group is trapped in a high school, left to determine their own fate, Asahina persists and continues looking for a way out even after the rest of the group has given up. A bit of a exercise nut, she believes in staying on top of things and enduring. Asahina even wears shorts during the winter, saying that she has to beat out the cold. According to her, only weak people get sick during the winter. Asahina's only unhealthy habit is her love of donuts, and whenever she gets sad you'll find about five in hand. She could likely eat donuts until the dawn of time.

As for the ditzy side... well... Aoi has the tendency to fall into the "brawn over brains" category. When she is first introduced to the main character, she admits that she isn't good at memorizing things. To prove this point, she tries to write the main character's name on the back of her hand but she can't remember the kanji for it. In reality, the main character's name is really easy to spell and most native speakers would get it on their first try. In the end, Asahina has to end up promising to using a dictionary to learn how to spell the name.

Knowing her, she went ahead and did so right away. Aoi is pretty blunt and forward with her thoughts, feelings, and emotions. She openly shows camaraderie towards most of the other characters and forms a close friendship with another girl who enjoys exercise, Sakura Oogami. However, when it comes to characters she dislikes, such as Hifumi Yamada, she openly shows hostility towards them, often telling them to shut up or go away. In regards to the current "kill or be killed" situation, Asahina firmly believes that no one should die, and the deaths of the others really gets to her. She ends up falling into a support role as she actively tries to keep the morale up (even while getting a bit depressed herself) and supports any ideas that involve keeping the group together and alive. But really, at her canon point, she's the most sensitive of the group, breaking into tears whenever she sees a corpse of her friend. In that way, she's the most like a normal kid out of the group.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart | Mozart L'Opera Rock | Reserved

[personal profile] whatevs 2012-04-27 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
History:
An entire synopsis of the opera

Note: They only show Mozart's life from age 18 and up, but considering they do mention a bit of his earlier life, I thought I'd add more detail.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart began on his path to fame very early. Born on January 27th, 1756, Mozart showed an interest in music at just age three. His father and sister were both very talented and when his father would tutor his older sister Maria Anna (who they called Nannerl), Mozart would listen. She even remarked later that he always played at the harpischord, fascinated and pleased with himself when he played something nice. Their father quickly realized his children's talent and dedicated his life to advancing their musical education. At just four, Mozart learned his first piece of music. It was a scherzo by a Viennese composer and meant for his older sister. Mozart took the notebook it was written in and learned the piece in only half an hour. In the same year (1761), Mozart was playing piano for the public at the University of Salzburg, where his father had studied.

In 1763, when Mozart was seven, he began his first European tour along with his sister and it lasted for three years. In just that year, he went to Munich, Augsburg, Ludwigsburg, Schwetzingen, Mainz, Frankfurt, Coblenz, Aix-la-Chapelle, Brussels, Paris, and Versailles. The amount of places they visited is too long to list and even the amount of royalty they played for is impressive. Including King Louis XV in Paris and King George III in London. In 1764, Mozart composed his first symphony after meeting J.C. Bach. He was only eight years old. During these trips, the children's musical career was practically the only source of income the family had and so it was Mozart and his sister that took care of the family financially.

In Mozart's teenage years, the older Archbishop of Salzburg is very sympathetic (more so than the one shown in the opera, who finds Mozart a nuisance and barely pays him) and Mozart is allowed to travel and expand his career. His father even paid for their trips. By age 17, Mozart has finish symphony No.25, is a concertmaster in Salzburg with a salary, and has written operas. A busy childhood? Definitely. Not to mention how much he accomplishes is nothing less than amazing.

Appearance: Mozart is a rather average-height man. Standing at about 5’8”, he’s attractive, but still average. He’s not too thin or too weighty. Blond and brown-eyed, he usually comes off as flighty and cheerful. He often wears mascara and glitter, his outfits usually a lot more flamboyant as well. But here is a picture of him to sum it all up.

Personality:
Mozart has an extremely colorful personality and that’s putting it simply. Some people seem to believe that the real Mozart suffered from bipolar disorder or from Tourette syndrome simply because of how outrageous he could be, though nothing about that has proven true.

Yet Mozart from Mozart L’opera Rock is just as colorful as the real one. The first glimpse we see of Mozart is him running around happily with women and kissing them while his family agonizes over the fact things have gotten worse for them. Mozart doesn’t know of the bad news yet, but it’s this contrast we’re shown that really shows us what to expect from him.

Mozart always gets chances and in the beginning almost completely destroys them. He's very irresponsible. Falling in love, he comes close to destroying his musical career all for a girl that hasn't even shown she shares his feelings. Impulsive? Yes. It’s not until his father tells him to go to Paris and that he's making a mistake that he realizes he should be doing something. He doesn’t take things seriously very often and he's very childish. He simply does what he wants. When he finally does get big, he blows all his money on extravagant things and goes into debt. That first glimpse we see of him? Just running onto the stage as his family is depressed and he grins, bows charismatically, and introduces himself to the audience? That's Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Flamboyant and always pleasing the crowd.

While Mozart finds it hard to be serious, he can be. He’s able to stand up and do what he has to, but it seems only after things really can’t get much worse for him. During his story, it's shown how much life likes to knock him down. He never seems to lose his will to go on until the very end and that’s only because he’s seriously about to die. When it comes to music, Mozart is serious. His music is his life, an escape from reality, and he would make any sacrifice for it. Mozart is a musical genius and he knows it. This shows some arrogance and he definitely has plenty of pride, but he knows that he’ll be big. He believes in this and himself. He makes some potentially dangerous sacrifices for this and yet never looks back. He always seems to be talking about taking chances and doing what you want to do.

An important trait of Mozart’s is that he has some issues with authority and seems to not do well being told what to do. In one of the songs he sings, “Place Je Passe”, he says:

“No disrespect to the footmen who kiss the feet of men with better shoes
I have to laugh
They live the lives of crushed bugs.”

This line right here is very telling of how he sees society and his role in it. People telling him what to do? People being better than him? No thanks. Considering he grew up with a very strict father (daddy issues don’t even begin to cover this man) and Colloredo who treats him like a servant, it's obvious why he’s this way. Rules don’t mean much to him and with a song called “The Troublemaker” where he says:

“I am a free thinker
A troublemaker, a rabble-rouser
Gentleman, judges, and prosecutors
No, I don’t give a damn about your title”

He makes it obvious how he feels. He goes against rules and finds ways to bend them. The opera wants to constantly let this be known.

While Mozart always stands up against society, he is not unbreakable and when Vienna finally tires of him, he does get depressed and angry. He wants people to enjoy his music and he works hard to keep going, even as he’s dying which shows a lot of strength, but he still crumbles. Even as he dies, he still thinks about his music first and wants to desperately finish his requiem before he does pass away. The only reason he doesn’t isn’t because of him, but only because he can’t fight death any longer.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is a very dimensional man. He’s eccentric, a genius, and somebody who believes in himself. He’s somebody who wants to let it be known just who he is and live life how he wants to.

Abilites:
Mozart is a very human man. He’s a genius and his music has been remembered for ages, but nothing else stands out. Unless we count his ability to mess things up repeatedly can be counted.

Other:
Holly Heights has themselves a new musician.

Character’s Name: Haruhi Suzumiya
Age: 17
Canon Point: During volume four of the “Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan” manga, right when she tells Asakura that she can’t visit North High due to testing
Species: Human
Gender: Female, both mentally and physically.
Orientation: Heterosexual. The spin-off is practically surrounding a love triangle (or a love square, even) between Nagato, Haruhi, Mikuru towards Kyon. Haruhi also specifically tells Nagato that she doesn’t “dislike” Kyon. And when she’s alone with Kyon, there’s actually a scene where she blushes when he doesn’t deny the existance of aliens, time travelers, and espers.

haruhi suzumiya | disappearance of nagato yuki-chan | semi-reserved

[personal profile] investigates 2012-04-27 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
History: Here, though she’s from this version of canon.
Appearance: Here.
Personality:

Whenever the name “Haruhi Suzumiya” pops up in someone’s head, the first word they think of is “eccentric” or “unusual”. This is due to all the weird things she does and has done, both in the past and the present. Examples of these are drawing weird symbols to Orihime and Hikoboshi, writing a message to Santa in the snow as a high schooler, searching for kappa, and even believing that the definition of a “mysterious” transfer student is a person who transfers in May - or as Haruhi says, “halfway through the year”.

However, Haruhi is not some ordinary weird girl. Even this Haruhi, who goes to a different school from most of the main cast has some personalities that make her unique. Sure, both Haruhi from the main series and the Haruhi from the Disappearance spinoff have the same goal, which is to “find aliens, time travelers, sliders, and espers and have fun with them”, but the Haruhi from the manga spinoff isn’t as crazy as the original. Why, you ask? It’s because her background is slightly different. The Haruhi who goes to North High knows no boundaries, especially since she’s at a prefectural, public high school, while the Haruhi who goes to Kouyouen (Disappearance spinoff) knows the rules and how to follow them. Of course, this side of Haruhi, who follows the rules and is practically an excellent student is a facade - one that she only shows to the school and possibly her parents as well.

Even though Haruhi knows her boundaries, Haruhi is still Haruhi: she is still going to be reckless with her actions. By “reckless”, it is implied that Haruhi takes action before thinking of a plan - or at least, a good plan. Haruhi may play the role of an innocent, second year high schooler at Kouyouen, but once she’s outside the school’s premises, Haruhi practically has a whole personality flip and goes back to being that eccentric girl trying to find and have fun with the supernatural. She doesn’t believe in limitations or rules - at least, most of the time - she will actually barge into North High while wearing her regular uniform (without even caring that people might try to kick her out), and even force her two male lackeys: yes, we’re looking at you, Kyon and Koizumi - to do whatever she wants them to do.

Another thing to note is that unlike Haruhi from the main series, this version of Haruhi has little to no qualms about love. In fact, she clearly states to Kyon and Nagato that she didn’t have a bad love relationship in the past. However, she does get slightly miffed when people assume that she’s dating someone (especially when it’s Koizumi that people assume she’s dating), when she really isn’t dating anyone. Of course, Haruhi does like Kyon - though she knows that Nagato likes him (even if both sides are ridiculous about it) - and tells Nagato that she doesn’t “dislike him”, especially when Kyon tells Haruhi that kappas could possibly exist.

Even though it may seem like that Haruhi may get her way most of the time, it’s only because she knows almost exactly how to do things. However, it’s not always the best thing to do. At least, when it concerns others. Especially when they get hurt. However, Haruhi believes the best in others, even if she doesn’t show it - and she would never put any of her friends in a life-threatening situation.

Haruhi does get slightly pissed off when her friends (especially Kyon and Asakura) tease her, make fun of her, and mess with her, but she knows that it’s just something she gets for being friends with them. And for teasing them back. In fact, she treats her friends better than strangers, even if it may not seem that way.

As for how she treats her friends, Haruhi does like to tease a lot and play with them. The Literary Club (plus Mikuru, Tsuruya and Koizumi) is kind of like her family that she can practically do anything with. As a note, Haruhi won’t force people to do things (unless you’re Kyon) because it’s rude to do that. Kyon’s an exception, though. She even follows protocol for them (i.e. getting permission from the school so that they can go inside the school without having to break in) because she has way more fun with the Literary Club in North High than she does doing anything else at her own school.

Speaking of the LIterary Club, Haruhi, at times, acts like the club leader - making decisions that the actual president wouldn’t make for the sole reason that Nagato is doing something else (i.e playing video games or reading). Haruhi is actually very excitable and hates boredom, which is why she has to come up with things on the fly for the group to do.

However, Haruhi is still a student, and a very dedicated one at that. In fact, she got into Kouyouen on a scholarship and is one of the smartest people in the whole group (she even outwitted Asakura, of all people).

All in all, Haruhi’s a girl who’s always looking for something to do, even if she has to do the wrong thing to do it.

Abilities:

Haruhi has absolutely no special abilities as of the latest chapter. The story is based off of “Disappearance”, which implies that the series is set in a more ordinary world where everyone is human and have no supernatural abilities.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Ciel Phantomhive
Age: 13
Canon Point: Beginning of Chapter 67
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Orientation: Asexual [While Ciel, at times, will get flustered when around certain women, he honestly could careless about the affection]

History: Chapters to Character Page.
Appearance: Small Little Gentleman

Also note that Ciel is extremely short for his age, being at 5'. Fair skinned, no muscle built, extremely thin, and always seen with an eyepatch covering his right eye. He prefers to dress like a little gentleman being that he is from the 1880's time period, where every child/and or adult have a more polished look to them.

His pajamas, however, are quite the riot, being that he always prefers to sleep in an oversized dress shirt.

And of course the Outfit he'll be wearing on his arrival~

Personality:

The End of Childhood, the Beginning of a Monster;

For a young 13 yr. old boy no one would think of one to be as cold-hearted, and deceitful as Ciel Phantomhive. Growing up through ten years of his life, Ciel was an extremely attached and happy young boy. Always shy and seen clinging to his father when he was invited to dinner parties, or outside playing with his cousin, Elizabeth. There is no information if Ciel ever attended school, mostly likely home-school so his only means of interaction were through his family, and the household butler, Tanaka, who he referred to as "Grandpa."

But all his happiness was taken away on the night of his 10th birthday. On Dec. 14th his family was murdered, his house burned down, and the culprits kidnapped Ciel to sell him off to the highest bidder that happened to be a satanic cult. Kept in a cage with dying, starving children, Ciel would be let out at times only to be beaten, abused, and violated. He was sealed with the cult's mark on his back, and that was the end of his childhood state.

Fear turned to hatred, and constantly praying to God brought no miracles. It was then that Ciel turned his back on God, and devoted himself to avenging his family and his pride for what he had been through. Yet all of it soon turned back to fear once more, as Ciel witnessed every boy sacrificed for eternal glory, wealth, and power. Again and again, death kept coming back, and he constantly has been taunted by nightmares re-living that very night. Anything be it knives, witnessing death, screams, it all reminds him of when he was chosen to come forth and also be killed like all the rest. However, Ciel survived. How? By catching the eye of the demon that had been summoned thanks to him. Ciel asked for power, power greater than anyone else, with his hand extended out towards the demon, he created a contract.

Power to Pride;

On his return back, it is already seen that Ciel no longer smiles, nor thinks like a child. For his small form, that people constantly tease, he is quite grown-up. Yes, a little childish at times when it comes to conversating with his butler, or those that really annoy him, but still grown-up. He is extremely greedy, not for money, but for power. Under the command of Queen Victoria makes him that way. It is his responsibility to govern the underground world of England, to protect the weak, to be feared by the powerful, he wants to be known for his name as a Phantomhive. Over the years thanks to his family, they have struck fear into the hearts of those that have messed with them. [Which is the same reason for what lead to their demise] Ciel is no different, but because of his age, he has to work harder in getting what he wants. Whether that means gaining it through betrayal, death, and traps he will go through any means of accomplishment.

But this is all because of Sebastian. Without him he would be nowhere. He'd still be dead. But of course, he's too stubborn to even acknowledge his own help. When Sebastian had first met Ciel, he was still a brat. Whining, yelling, purposing to Sebastian that everything he did was right, and he was wrong. It wasn't until Sebastian had spoken up, threatening Ciel, that Ciel knew his place. Over the next few years, Sebastian had trained him to become the proper gentleman upholding the Phantomhive name. And with education, came his sour, prudent attitude towards Sebastian. An example being Ciel will always plan events at his manor, informing Sebastian it would be that evening, or the next day, testing out Sebastian's limits. Of course, a means of teasing, since Ciel knows very well he can accomplish it. After all he develops the motto of what can't a Phantomhive butler do. He can do anything and everything, because he is employed under that name. Creating somewhat of a love-hate relationship between the two. Except there is no methods of "love" involved. Just "I need you, you need me," type of relationship through means of hatred and annoyance for one another.

A Slightly Black Heart;

While Ciel does have a cold heart to him, he does show signs of affection towards individuals that are from his childhood or those few he is unable to save. During the Jack The Ripper case, Ciel is seen as "kind" for giving Mary Jane Kelly a grave. In his defense saying he knew he couldn't save her.

"I knew that I would not be able to save this woman. If I had only thought of her life first...there were any number of ways to rescue her that night. But I did not attempt any of them. I knew she could have been rescued...but my first priority was to capture Jack the Ripper. I knew that I would not save her life. I knew...and I let her die. Just as I let my own flesh and blood die."

While Sebastian replies back with calling him a coward for not killing the true person behind Jack the Ripper [his aunt], Ciel replies with,

"Because that was your job. I did not shoot because I believed you'd protect me even if you died doing so."

It isn't sure if Ciel said that merely to cover up his true nature behind why he stopped to kill his own relative. But it does show that he does "feel" at times. He deeply shows it when Elizabeth, his fiancee and cousin, is around. He protects her with his life, knowing that if he were to lose her, he'd lose the child inside of himself, and what he had left of his past. He fears the thought of losing everything all over again. Hypocritical? Perhaps. He will continue to deny that he has a heart, when he does.

Children Are Always Greedy;

Ciel is extremely competitive and crafty when it comes to winning at anything. He has even been given the nickname,"Game Prodigy," for the number of times he has won. Games, challenges, he does not like to lose to strangers nor to those closest to him. Or else he does turn into quite a bit of a sore loser showing off his childish/bratty side. It is seen in the earliest chapters when he discusses strategics in capturing criminals. He thinks of his missions, given to him through Queen Victoria, as a game. With Sebastian as his sword, shield, and pawn he moves him about the chess board as his winning piece. Using others he meets also as pawns in order to get the job done.

Two Sides To This Chess Piece;

An excellent actor when it comes to faking his attitude. First time meetings Ciel will smile happily at guests, talk brilliantly and passionately about others he envies, he'll care for "friends", and act as the proper gentleman. But for a split second you may see his true side. His twisted smirk, his cold, empty stare, a snicker, a boastful look, he'll conceal his true self from others as his act to gain their trust. It is fully seen during the Noah Circus Arc where he befriends a girl named Freckles, to get closer to the Circus Troupe that has been kidnapping children. In the end he brushes her off and orders Sebastian to kill her. Another arc in which his performance of his "kind" self is seen is in the "Sherlock Holmes," arc, where he must act as though he witnessed Sebastian's death. Crying, yelling, and denying Sebastian's death, he convinces everyone, when he and Sebastian planned it before that he would fake his death to capture the true criminal behind the party.

In the end Ciel is one nasty child. One that should not be underestimated, because he'll either destory you, or use you.

Abilites:

→ Power; Faustian Contract; His main ability comes from the contract he formed at the age of 10 with Sebastian Michaelis. The contract gives him the ability to call upon the demon whenever he is in danger by revealing his right eye that holds the seal. Or if Ciel is unable to call upon the demon, and he is in a life or death situation the demon will come to him. The contract also holds true that whatever Ciel asks, Sebastian will give. No matter how ridiculous the order his, he will fulfill it for his Master. --->

["The covenant between you and I...holds that you will assist me until I ,'achieve my objectives,' and protect my life until that day comes to pass...I command you. Do not betray me, always stay by my side. No matter what!"]

However as explained here that power most likely will be the one to be taken away. Without his butler around, and forced to be placed under care with a new family, Ciel won't ask for the ability back just yet.

→ Skilled fencer [Ciel had trained with Elizabeth's mother ever since he was a child. Back then he took fencing with a laid-back attitude, until Sebastian became his fencing instructor and now he has improved greatly]

→ Skilled in hunting and horseback [again he is the son of a rich aristocratic family. He knows very well how to use a gun/rifle when it comes to hunting, or simply defending himself]

→ Artistic [as a violinist, artist, and dancer [mainly in ballroom dances]]

→ Well-educated [he has been home-schooled ever since an early age, and excels in advantaged subjects that are not usually taught to children his age, a lot of them being business and literature. For his age here though he will be enrolling into the school for Freshman year of High School]

→ "Game Prodigy" [a master of any game, a favorite being chess [second being billiards]. He jokes towards the beginning of the manga that he is a greedy child, never truly satisfied with the games given to him, since he can easily defeat them all. He loves being the victor, if someone does defeat him, he will hold a grudge and suspicion on them for years to come]

Other: Small little notes that everyone should know about Ciel;

→ Ciel is diagnosed with asthma, and has been ever since an early age. There have only been two known attacks to ever take place in his 13 years, but it can easily be set off when Ciel catches a cold. Symptoms of an asthma attack would be high fever, nausea, and vomiting that would render Ciel unconscious for at least a day, depending on how severe the attack is.

→ Being born into a wealthy family has its shortcomings, especially when Ciel cannot do ANYTHING on his own. He doesn't know how to tie his own shoelaces, cook, clean, brush his teeth, brush his hair, get dressed, everything has been done for him by a servant since he was a child. To be placed into an environment where he will be off on his own will prove to be a problem. Some useful advice, if Ciel ever does lend a helping hand, it will turn more of a disaster than anything else.

→ Ciel is highly allergic to cats, but seeing as there are no animals here he is in no need to worry.

SAMPLES
First Person: This Child Has An Attitude Problem

Third Person: It all came as a shock to Ciel. His eyes scanned his surroundings jumping from house to house, car to car, until his vision lined up to what was across from him. Nothing different, the same clean cut house, the same slick red car, what even was that odd contraption on wheels? This all certainly was different, and he knew right away that he was nowhere near the outskirts of London, or his home. Maybe even his world for that matter. Was that possible? Ha. Living in a world that was filled with demons and odd supernatural occurrences anything was possible. That's when it hit him...Where was Sebastian?

Looking around once more would prove to be suspicious and obvious that he was looking for someone. That chance was not to be taken, not when countless of other clueless individuals were outside looking for answers he could not give. A few steps forward, and Ciel stopped, re-assuring himself that this could not have been a dream, and continued on walking. Keeping a steady pace, Ciel wandered off, every so often glancing to his side to the few that were going about their day. Until he was certain that no one was around, he muttered a name.

"Sebastian."

No answer, nor appearance. A number of possibilities ran through his mind. It could have been that there was a greater distance between the two for Sebastian to sense him. Or...he wasn't present in this world at all. The thought of being on his own without any knowledge of the people nor the town scared Ciel slightly. Just slightly, to the point that he knew wherever he was he would have to adapt to survive. But also adapt so that he could find a way out.

[personal profile] pierce_villiers 2012-04-27 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Pierce is not a lot stranger than any other person from where he's from, except for the fact that he is a jittery little thing lacking a lot of sleep. Some might attribute this to him being a dormouse, but there's more to it than that. Pierce is mostly frightened a lot of the time and it's because he's constantly chased and tormented by fearsome twins and a menacing cheshire cat. The only people he couldn't see as a threat were the rabbits and caterpillar, the latter because he can put the mouse to sleep and then he is free from everything.

As for what makes him tick, I would say it's that clock he has in his chest instead of having a heart. But again, that's pretty common where he comes from. Because of this, death usually isn't such a big deal and he's used to doing his job of taking care of all the dead bodies. He's a special guy, really he is. More often than not he's hyped up on caffeine, just to keep him awake.

Off the job, the mouse is very nice. He stays to himself a lot, but once he grows close to a person he wants to be around them all the time and gets very excited and touchy-feely. He loves that. He'll play games, take you out on romantic dates, try to get a kiss in. His life never works out, but that doesn't stop him from trying. AND TRY HE WILL!

If Pierce feels really threatened though, he'll attack without hesitation. On his person he carries a very distinct looking knife as well as a pistol. More often than not, he'll draw the knife first and charge at the threat. So watch out people, don't push the little one's buttons. He looks meek at first, but he's not afraid of lashing out if he feels it necessary. His moments of bravery may be fleeting, this is why a lot of the time you could see him fretting more often than not and just generally freaking out so much to the point of constantly being stressed.
Abilites:
He doesn't have any special abilities... like, he has a clock for a heart? So death isn't much of a thing to worry about where he comes from. He also pretty much is the bottom of the food chain, and just cleans up all the dead bodies. All willy nilly, because that's what dormice do. HE ALSO HAS THE ABILITY TO FEAR EVERYTHING! And... coffee addiction. Yes. That's a thing, that's an ability.

Other:
He doesn't know how to act around normal people :| All normal people are foreigners, so he fawns over them for the forever. And he loves cheese. HE LOVES IT. I was going to say something else, but I forgot :c

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Lydia Carlton
Age: 17
Canon Point: Beginning of EP5, before Marigold's arrival at the Earl's residence.
Species: Human.
Gender: Female.
Orientation: Heterosexual.

History:
Have you had any strange or unaccountable things happen to you ?

If so, I can respond to all your inquiries about Fairies.

Fairy Dr. Lydia Carlton

Lydia Carlton is a natural-born 17-year-old redhead who lives on the outskirts of Edinburg, Scotland in the 19th century and is, by almost all accounts, strange. She has a lovely home, with a rose bush fence, not a lot of money, and a fairy-cat that no one but herself can see named Nico. Her job is not one that many consider normal either-- Lydia is a fairy doctor. Fairy doctors act as a liaison between the humans and fairies, as fairies are normally not visible to humans, though humans are quite visible to fairies. Lydia is able to do this job because she can see fairies, a trait which she inherited from her mother.

Unfortunately, the Lydia is from a time when fairies are scarcely believed in any longer. Nevertheless, she still keeps up a happy face and does her job to the best of her capabilities.

One day, Lydia receives a letter from her father inviting her to England, but on route she is kidnapped by a man named Edgar J. C. Aschenbert. Edgar claims to be the Blue Knight Earl, an earl famous for owning land in the kingdom of fairies, but he is seeking Lydia's help because he doesn't possess the ability to see fairies, like his ancestors and needs help obtaining the Noble Sword of Merrow as proof of his worthiness for the title.

Lydia doesn't believe him, as that kind of a story just seems too preposterous and his attitude toward her hasn't been, while gentlemanly, exactly giving her much of a choice. Unfortunately, it quickly becomes obvious that Lydia really doesn't have a choice-- it's either let herself go along with this man or be taken forcefully by another group lead by a man name Huskley who are out to steal the exact same thing, since she's the only known fairy doctor still around. At least this guy was upfront about it and wasn't toting a battleship like their pursuers were, so Lydia agrees with extreme skepticism.

Edgar gives her a poem that he found on the back of a coin that was said to be a riddle stating where the location of the Merrow Sword was.

Jack-in-the-green is from a spankey's cradle.
Dance with Pixies on a moonlit night.
Beyond the Cross of Silky.
The Phouka is a labyrinth
Along the footprints of a Worm.
To the right side of Fear Dearig.
Pass under Dullahan's foot.
The treasures of the Leprachaun.
The bed of Clurichaun.
Follow the Banshee.
The Merrow's star can be exchanged with another
Otherwise the Merrows will sing a song of sadness.

Lydia tries to decrypt the first part of this riddle and decides that they should head to an island to look for merfolk, since Merrow is another name for them. Edgar offers her a large amount of money to take the job officially and she does, despite suspicions that he may be a wanted murderer and larsonist. Turns out he is that same man in question and her cat, Nico, who also happens to be a fairy gives her some fairy sleeping medicine to knock Edgar out with so that she can escape. Edgar catches her and says that he'll die if she doesn't help him because he has nothing left to live for, but drinks it anyway to give her a choice. She stays with him and the two, along with Edgar's butler Raven (a half-sprite who actually committed the murders that Edgar was accused of), set off for the island of Mannon.

At Mannon, they slowly use the clues until the other people who are chasing Lydia catch up and try to kill Edgar and take her with them. Edgar tells Lydia's father, on the island working with the men who were trying to get Lydia on their side, that he wants to marry her. Her father attempts to help Lydia and Edgar escape, then Edgar ends up having to save them. An unseelie court appears and Raven fights it off, but in the process both Lydia and her father are captured by Huskley. Lydia is forced into leading the way to the sword, but Edgar saves her halfway through but not her father. When Edgar, Raven, and Lydia get to the area with the sword, both Lydia and Edgar dive for it with Lydia obtaining it first. Edgar spills his blood and is taken hostage by the merrow, so Lydia goes to save him after being told that she has the ability to fulfill the Earl's promise despite that Edgar seriously intended to sacrifice her for the sword after some Brownie spirits and Nico help her take out Huskley and release her father. The merrow attempt to take Lydia's soul in exchange for placing the merrow's star into the noble sword and making Edgar the new Blue Knight Earl. Edgar saves her in exchange for her coming after him and offers his own star, a scar on his tongue, in exchange for a merrow's star to be placed into the sword.

Edgar, Lydia, Lydia's father, and Raven all return safely with the sword and a ball is prepared for Edgar's new-found noble status but as soon as things seem well, a messenger from the fairy kingdom known as Merigold shows up seeking to fulfill a promise between the original Blue Knight Earl and the fairy queen, but the ring that she brought was stolen by a fairy called Kelpie seeking to woo Lydia. The ring is the moonstone ring, as it waxes and wanes exactly as the moon does. This ring is made to fulfill the promise of love when someone uses a spell that in order to love them, they need to bring the moon as a gift. Lydia promised Kelpie that she would marry him if he brought her the moon, just as the Blue Knight Earl had promised to marry the fairy queen, as it was supposed to be an impossible task.

The ring accidentally gets stuck on the finger of an artist named Paul that Lydia recently met and Lydia argues with Kelpie and Edgar both that their affections aren't real. When Edgar goes to retrieve the ring from Paul, an assassin stabs him with a poisoned knife. There is no human cure for the poison, so Lydia agrees to return to the fairy world with Kelpie if he gives her a cure for Edgar. Lydia is taken to the other world, but as soon as Edgar is well, he retrieves the moonstone ring and tricks Merigold and another fairy named Sweetpea into taking him to the fairy world to save Lydia. Doing so, Edgar has agreed to marry the fairy queen, Gwendolen. The only way to break Lydia's agreement with Kelpie and Edgar's agreement to marry Gwendolen is for Lydia to accept the "moon" from him. Edgar tells Lydia that it can be a makeshift promise and it can be taken back, so Lydia accepts the moonstone ring and becomes his fiance. Edgar, of course, pretends that he never said anything about it being a refundable oath.

Domestic life continues with Edgar arguing that Lydia is totally his fiance, Kelpie standing around going I am waiting, and Lydia talking to fairies left and right-- until Paul shows up with a banshee who followed him home because she really likes him. Lydia informs Edgar that when Banshee cries, it means someone in their master's family is going to die; said family being the Blue Knight Earl family for Banshee here. Not a day later, Banshee gets kidnapped by a man named Ulysses claiming to be the real Blue Knight Earl and Paul returns to tell Lydia and Edgar that they need to find the amber containing Banshee's memories. Nico, who was with Paul and Banshee when Banshee was kidnapped, tells Lydia that a woman named "Ermine" was with them. This Ermine is also sister to Raven and important to Edgar. Lydia goes to tell Edgar, worried for him, and finds him drunk as can be. She still tells him, then he tries to engage in sexual relations with her, but starts saying Ermine's name and falls asleep.

Needless to say, though Lydia had finally started to open herself up to feelings for Edgar this sent her straight back into her shell and when he went to apologize and propose immediate marriage to her because of the event (he had a little trouble remembering exactly what happened), she kicks him out and yells at him through the door. Later that night, Kelpie attempts to steal her away again through her dreams, stating that the engagement to Edgar is null because he'll be dead in a few days. Lydia puts the moonstone ring on her finger willingly after being prompted by the small Coblynau who made the ring in the first place (which we have now learned is named "Bow" and can apparently talk to him) and sets out to see Edgar, but he's not available and Paul and Coblynau try to help her find where the Banshee's amber is. Coblynau tells her that it's in the painting Paul was showing her.

Coblynau opens a fairy path and using the painting, Lydia and Paul head to the Banshee to return her memories without Ulysses's interference, since Ulysses is working for Prince, a cruel man who was prophecized to bring only evil. Paul and Lydia sneak into Ulysses's base and find Banshee, then Lydia disguises herself as Banshee to be taken to Ulysses and, she hopes, Edgar. Lydia and Edgar escape from Ulysses, but Edgar is bitten by an Unseelie Court. Kelpie shows up and saves them from a gripload more after Edgar discovers that Banshee is secretly Lydia.

Edgar and Lydia run into Ermine, who is supposed to be working for Ulysses, but she offers to take them to the exit. They return to fetch Paul and Banshee to find Banshee and the painting gone, then Edgar and Ermine lock Lydia and Paul up in the room to keep them safe. Nico lets them out and Lydia shows up in the nick of time to discover the source of the magic keeping Ulysses's castle together, shoots it with a gun that Edgar gave her, and Edgar's wound is healed. The Banshee gives the Key of Ibrazel to Edgar after acknowledging him as the Blue Knight Earl once Ulysses has fled. Everyone returns home after a job well done, despite that the Prince hasn't been yet taken down. Edgar attempts to get Lydia to once again agree to the engagement and, though she is continually wearing the ring of her own volition now, she still denies it (though significantly less vehemently). Edgar kisses her forehead. Happy ending!

(Someday there may be a sequel- the novels are still going, but this is the only portion out in the anime, which I am playing by.)

Lydia Carlton | Hakushaku to Yousei | Reserved, 2/2

[personal profile] ex_fairydoctor_163 2012-04-30 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
Appearance: One, two, three.

Now then, providing just pictures wouldn't be enough because her appearance does have a few key factors!

One: Her hair. Despite referring to her hair as "rust colored" more than once until she is told by Edgar that it's a caramel color, Lydia doesn't cut her hair. This is likely because it is a reminder of her mother, who is deceased.

Two: Her eyes. The color green for eye color in Hakushaku to Yousei represents a close connection to fairies. It is considered strange in the HtY world and Lydia has been isolated a number of times for having such an eye color. She does not think her eyes, nor her hair, are pretty.

Personality:
"Was that strange? Go ahead and laugh. As you can see, I've completely lost my mind."

Lydia is well aware of, and used to, being called crazy to her face. Her life as a fairy doctor in a time when fairies are scarcely believed in any longer has given her a significant amount of grief throughout her life and many times affected the way that she views herself. Despite this, she doesn't run away from the fairies or think that she's crazy. Her mother was also a fairy doctor and thanks to a loving father figure, she was able to accept herself in that aspect to the extent that she will apologize for the actions of fairies, instead of simply letting a conversation partner be confused to save her some grief.

While Lydia is a strong person and is fully capable of taking care of herself, she does have a lot of doubts about herself in regards to anything outside of her knowledge of fairies. Anyone who claims to be able to see fairies lodges immediate skepticism into her mind; almost as much as when someone says that they believe her without evidence.

If she says something out of line, Lydia may apologize for speaking out of turn or for saying something rude, whether she meant it or not. If she gives/receives a compliment or says something odd, one can expect an almost rambling explanation for it to cover up her embarrassment. She has a lot of self-image issues as well, often referring to her hair as "rust colored" instead of red or orange because of her distaste for her own hair. (It is likely that her hair is a remembrance of her mother, which is why she does not cut it, dye it, or wear a wig to cover it up in spite of her dislike of it.)

Despite her slight skittishness, Lydia will stand up for herself and be assertive if it becomes necessary. She doesn't stand for being harassed or offended and will slap someone if it gets bad enough, regardless of their station. For the most part, a lot of pouting just occurs when she's upset though. It's extremely easy to tell when she's distressed because of this and has a distinctive inability to form any kind of "poker face," even when trying to drug someone with nothing more than a sleeping draught so that she can escape.

Her lack of a poker face when attempting to betray someone's trust stems from guilt. Lydia won't abandon someone if they're in trouble or she sympathizes with them or their cause. She once states that she would "probably regret it for the rest of [her] life if [she] didn't save someone when there was a way to," despite that doing such would destroy her or her freedoms.

Even if she's betrayed, she won't go as far as to kill that person to save her own life, though that may be due to her faith in humanity. She's extremely disbelieving, initially, that people would go to any lengths to hurt, deceive, experiment on, or control one another after Edgar introduces her to a much darker world than the one she is familiar with.

Of course, despite her good heart, Lydia does get easily exasperated and will get very grumpy if she's pushed to it. She can be influenced to do things to hurt others, particularly by individuals she knows care about her (Nico in particular). Though she's by no means a genius, she's quick on her feet about problem-solving and taking action and this makes her an ideal fairy doctor.

Abilites: Lydia can see and speak to fairies. She has vast knowledge about all things fairy-related, especially those of Scottish lore. (Largely because she's from Scotland.)

Other:
-Before she's hired by Edgar, she's poor enough to joke with Nico about never having to worry about getting robbed.
-Lydia gets seasick easily.
-She's a bad dancer.
-When Lydia was younger, the only time that another human had confessed love to her had been from a boy who had given her a love letter as a prank/dare from his friends. This explains part of why she's so hesitant to let anyone into her heart in that manner.
-She loves her father; he is probably he most important person to her.
-She loves chicks. Like, baby chickens.
-Lydia is from he 1900s and a woman, but her father (a professor of minerals and gems) taught her to read and write English.

SAMPLES
First Person:
[ The idea of this technology still throws Lydia off a lot of the time, so as she draws her hand back from turning it on, she looks quite uncertain. A moment later she gains a more confident look, though, once she's sure that it's really on. ]

I thought it must be magic of some kind at first. I've only seen fairy magic that can communicate with people across distances like this before, but this thing really is quite useful. I should get down to the point though. I don't know if it's going to be useful here or not, but if you have any questions about fairies you should feel free to ask. I'm sure they're here, even if I can't see them right now. Call it a hunch!

[ A brief pause. There's another uncertain look in her eyes; she doesn't feel comfortable not being able to see fairies. She doesn't really have any other skills, either. ]

Does anyone have any job openings? Everyone else is trying to do something, but I can't do the best that I can. I can try anything, don't just count me out because I'm a woman.

[ Something she's more used to from her time, of course. ]

Third Person:
Lydia finally had some time to herself, away from Edgar, away from the madness that had started ever since she'd left her home to visit her father. She had only left to go see him and this suddenly popularity was getting taken to extreme levels. A battleship had followed them on the cruise ship-- she was only staying with the Earl because he seemed a lot less hostile (and it came with a hefty paycheck)..

Now she was on the train, finally a moment of peace to herself, and she couldn't stop thinking about Edgar. Was there any way to tell if he really was that man that the officers had been looking for?

Maybe she should find Nico... Lydia straightened, stifling a sigh at her exhaustion with everything. There really was no way to avoid any of this. She looked to the side and spotted something at the window of the train. A Brownie tapping on the window. They weren't moving yet, but they would be soon, and that poor fairy would get stuck outside if they started. Brushing some rust-colored hair back, Lydia headed to the window and pried it open. The small fairy climbed through and Lydia shut it immediately after.

"Um... What are you doing?"

An older gentleman, possibly one of the train attendants, had been watching her open and close the window. Lydia laughed a little nervously, putting a smile on. Oh boy, she hated liars and lying, so this was going to be awkward to explain.

"I, um.. There was a small fairy outside; a brownie. They're completely harmless outside of the occasional mischief, don't worry!"

The man looked more concerned about her that the idea of a fairy boarding the train, of course. Another nervous chuckle, then she spotted Nico down the hall.

"I-I'll be off then!"

Lydia took off toward her fairy-cat companion. Perhaps Nico had some news for her that could calm her nerves.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Sweden (Berwald Oxenstierna)
Age: 1022+ (looks 21)
Canon Point: Early 1990s
Species: Personified nation
Gender: Male, both mentally and biologically
Orientation: He's the only Hetalia character with a stated sexual preference. Sweden is homosexual, but really he could best be described as Finland-sexual, as he is homosexual only for Finland and shows no interest in anyone else. Feel free to pair him off with either gender. He will be equally unimpressed.

History: A really nice summary of Swedish history here. Hetalia wiki on Sweden here. If these are insufficient, I'm happy to summarize what we see of him in canon.

Appearance: The first thing one notices is that Berwald is tall. And frightening-looking! When he's not looking completely blank or uninterested, he probably looks angry. He has a frightening glare, his sea-green eyes typically boring holes into someone as he stares and stares. He wears glasses, so expect an even deeper scowl if he's lost them.

Sweden has blond, short and slightly choppy hair. While incredibly tall, as most Swedes are, he is also pretty fit in terms of body-type. He typically wears a long, dark blue coat, blue pants, black boots, black gloves, and a black formal shirt and tie.

When he's not wearing his uniform, he opts for darker clothes. He rather likes just wearing pants and a turtle neck. In a word, his fashion sense is "simple."

Personality: Sweden is a nation of few words, but he has many thoughts. To almost everyone else, he is intimidating, cold, and stand-offish. Inside, he is completely the opposite. He is incredibly thoughtful and compassionate, warm, kind, generous, and even playful. But, because he has such a scary outward appearance, no one gets to really experience that. It's hard for him to convey all of the emotions and thoughts that go on inside of him, as he is incredibly socially awkward to the point where it just looks like he's trying to scare people off.

He is not completely merciful, as he was once known as the Lion of Northern Europe (though, he's calmed down immensely since those days). If you threaten the well-being of his friends (and God help you if you hurt or even look at Finland wrong), he will get you back. He is a very strong fighter and does not back down if there is a threat. The biggest rivals he really had were Denmark and Russia, though his relationship with his brother have immensely cooled in the present day. There still seems to be slight tension with Russia, however, and is always worrying over Finland's well-being whenever he's around the other.

Despite being silent, he loves debates and arguments in general. He is very calculating in a sense, as he thought up the perfect payback for France in an April Fool's Event -- making him praise England. It's very hard to tell just what Sweden is thinking, as his facial expressions hardly change (though sometimes his expressions to things Finland says are comically exaggerated).

Finland means the entire world to Sweden. He does anything he can to make the other country happy. He takes his most expensive clothes and fits them to the smaller nation's size, is willing to take Finland's friends (Estonia and Latvia) back to their place, seeing as they make him happy, and generally goes above and beyond. When he remarks their dog, Flower Egg, would be wanting her house soon and Finland says it'd be nice to have his own space, he holes himself up in a corner and gives Finland the rest of the house. According to the other nation, it was a bit ridiculous, so that quickly ended. Anything that would make him happy, he'll do, such as "doing his best" when Finland says it'd be nice to have a kid. Even during the Winter War, when no country was helping Finland fight against Russia, Sweden secretly visited him and gave him aid despite being neutral. For him, he'll do anything and is constantly concerned for his safety.

Sweden himself is very fond of cute things like small animals, kids, and his wife. He is also fond of sweets! There are many surprises to him that are to be found out simply by chance or if he gets close enough to someone. He doesn't speak much and remains stoic, so it's up to a person learning how to read Sweden to truly understand him. He is capable of laughing and smiling, though it is rare.

Abilites: As a nation, he's "immortal" and has a strong immune system. Sweden himself is very skilled at using his hands and can sew and build a variety of things (toys, houses, etc.). He's very strong in terms of combat and can put up quite the fight, having conquered other countries as the Swedish Empire. ...also, his gaze scares the shit out of everyone. He is skilled in interior design, a variety of art, and has musical talent. Not like he'd ever really have the confidence to sing, though he may play guitar if asked.

It is to be noted that his canned Surströmming can be considered the world's ultimate weapon. Despite having such a frightening food, Sweden is wonderful at cooking and can make a variety of foods (e.g., Swedish, Turkish, and Italian).

Other: The reason for pulling him from the 1990s of all times is because Ladonia was proclaimed in 1996 and I would rather avoid Sweden having to miss both Ladonia and Sealand. So, I'm pulling him before he adopts Sealand and before Ladonia is even formed. If we get Sealand (since I don't think Ladonia has enough information yet to be apped), I may inquire about canon updating him! Just FYI.

Also, Sweden speaks in a heavy accent and the fanon substitute of translating the Tohoku accent is truncating vowels for English. I do my best to not overdo it and make him understandable, but I can also have him not speak in an accent if it's deemed as unnecessary.

SAMPLES
First Person: Here!

Third Person: Holly Heights wasn't working out for him.

It was a simple reason why: the person making breakfast for him wasn't his real wife. This person, his pre-arranged spouse, wasn't the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and adopt children with. No, his spouse was some stranger he didn't know but was supposed to get along with. He was supposed to pretend this was all right and that they were happily married.

It made his heart ache. First, he had to deal with being stripped of his identity as a nation and made human. Then, he was put into this situation, where his true wife was not at his side. Berwald would make arrangements to see him, of course. There was no possible way he'd be kept from doing at least that (he hoped). It was just so incredibly unnerving and awkward. He glanced from his newspaper over to one of his kids, wondering if they thought the same as him or if they were happy with accepting this.

Right now, it was too early to do anything about it. He could at least wait until after breakfast before skipping out on his "spouse." Berwald quietly thanked them as a plate was set down in front of him, his newspaper lowered. Much too early for this. He could only hope he wasn't expected to make conversation.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Buffy Anne Summers.
Age: 19.
Canon Point: 5x01, "Buffy vs. Dracula", just before she goes home at the end of the episode, after talking with Giles.
Species: Human.
Gender: Female.
Orientation: HUSBANDO PLZ.~~ No, but really. Heterosexual. All of her relationships up to this point in canon have been with males, and even after she has a brief thing with a girl in the comics (which is WAAAY after her current canon point), she states later that she's definitely straight. Most, most definitely.

History: buffy summers @ buffy.wikia.
Appearance:
for your viewing pleasure.

Buffy Summers is deceptively small. She stands at only five feet, three inches (5'3"). It's likely that she barely weighs more than one-hundred-fifteen pounds, soaking wet (115lbs). She has green eyes that can occasionally present themselves as hazel. Her skin tone is even, not pale but not overly tanned, with natural color to it. During the summer months, she has a dusting of freckles over her shoulders. She's not overly muscular, but is very well toned, with a flat stomach and a bit of definition in her upper arms.

She's got one hell of a sense for fashion. She's a big fan of shoes, and accessorizing. Her hair never looks anything less than cute (the exception being when she first wakes up in the morning), and she's always got jewelry (earrings, bracelets, necklaces) to go with what she has on. She's a snazzy dresser, though her impeccable taste in fashion also has to be practical. She's learned time and time again that Slaying plus skirt equals bad. Buffy prefers pants when it comes down to patrols, though she can be seen wearing skirts often during daylight hours. No matter what she's wearing, where she's going, or who she's with, she almost always has a cross around her neck. Not only does she have a vast collection of different crosses to accessorize, but it's her most practical item of clothing, as it has protective properties against vampires.

Personality:
"I may be dead, but I'm still pretty."

For her personality section, I'm going to be giving a general overview, and then a much more extensive look at who Buffy Summers really is.

NOTE; This is a blanket personality essay that I have written and built over time and it encompasses her entire canon history and all aspects of her personality, not just up to the canon point from which I have chosen to take her. I felt it was more thorough than going through and cutting out the bits and pieces that cover things which won't be relevant to her specific canon point, as her personality is a very solid thing at its core even through experiences and change.

-----> *OVERVIEW* ->>
Buffy is a leader by nature. She always has been. Even back before she became the Slayer when she was the quintessential Californian princess – cheerleader, homecoming queen, all of that – she was still very much a leader. She demands to be followed whether that's by trend-setting or leading an army of girls with weapons against a damn-near impenetrable force of evil. She's self-assured and strong-willed. She is a very independent woman who doesn't have much taste for authority, who does what she thinks is the best thing, and right thing, to do. If that involves bending the rules, then so be it. She's a rebel, even in terms of being a Slayer - she likes to do things her own way, even if her Watcher or the Council have demanded otherwise. Sometimes her natural ability to lead can go to her head, and she'll get a little too headstrong and arrogant about things. She's often fairly well convinced that she's the foremost expert on all of the monsters and demons that come around, just because she's The Slayer, and she's been there.

Buffy also has a huge heart. She cares about people, sometimes more than what's good for her. She can get attached to people far too quickly, and she definitely puts her all into her friendships. She's a very protective person and will stop at nothing to keep those she loves safe. She considers her emotions to be assets, and knows that, despite what she's learned from the First Slayer and what she's been told of Slayers in the past, they give her power. They build her strength. There isn't anything she wouldn't do for the people she cares about; she would go to the ends of the earth to protect them, no matter what.

She can be extremely strong in her opinions, and isn't afraid to step up and assert her authority when she feels it's necessary. Buffy also possesses the uncanny ability to whip out witty comments at the most appropriate (and, alright, sometimes inappropriate) times, always offering a crack - especially when dealing with her enemies. She comes off a little bit cynical and sarcastic at times, but usually just when she's in a bad mood. She's very emotional, despite the strong image she upholds. She's not quick to cry, or a baby about her feelings, but when the need hits her, she lets it out, sometimes despite her best efforts to hold it in. She's fairly good at bottling when she really has to, when she really wants to, but it puts a strain on her and letting it all out is just… better.

Now, the dutiful part of her. Buffy has two people within her, always. Buffy the Girl, and Buffy the Slayer. The Leader. Sometimes they coexist harmoniously and combine forces to bring the best of both out respectively. Other times… Buffy just wants to be normal and gets upset and acts put upon about being the Slayer. Now, with all the other Slayers running around, that shouldn't be too big a deal, right? Wrong- she's still the first one, she's still the original one, so she's still the one who both wants to and is expected to call the shots. So she's got the entitlement and the burden all at once – and while it's no longer a burden she can't share, it's still very much a heavy weight to carry. Buffy the girl sometimes headbutts against Buffy the Slayer, and vice versa. There have been times when she resists her duty and responsibilities and ignores what she should be doing, and allows just Buffy take back over completely. It… usually backfires.

On the contrary, there are times when she shoves Buffy-the-girl aside and becomes the Slayer. Whole-heartedly, entirely, the Slayer. A soldier. The one woman who can change everything, who lives for the fight. Death is her gift. The part of her who is a warrior, built and given the skill and strength through generations and generations of Slayers. She becomes colder, harder, and much less tolerant of insubordination. She gives orders and expects them to be followed and is harsher than she needs to be from time to time. She's snappy and makes judgments that she is convinced are completely right even if they can be mistakes. She can get so into her own headspace and so determined and set on the path she's taking that she loses her desire to maintain her personal connections over that sense of battle is right, duty is right. She can become almost frighteningly militant at times.

These instances are usually the starkest contrast between when she's just being herself and when she shows the hardened, matured, weathered person her life experiences have forced her to become. She kind of has a chip on her shoulder because of it at times, and she really has been through… a lot. She's lost friends, she lost her mother, and she's lost her own life - twice. That's a lot for a girl her age to go through. But that doesn't mean that she's a full-on grown up despite being well on her way into adulthood. There are many instances in which Buffy is still immature. She has a jealous streak, and easily turns to petty insults (even if they're not said to a person's face all the time) when a sour chord is struck for her. She can be very knock-down drag-out mean-girl vicious, too, going right for the jugular in an argument when she feels she's at a disadvantage and needs to change it. She very much has eldest child syndrome in that regard. She can actually be… a lot of a brat. When she doesn't get her way, she lashes out. This is a very teenage attitude and approach to conflict to still have.

That brings us back around to the fact that she's still just a girl, though, somewhere in there beneath all of the very complicated multi-tiered cake parfait pie that is Buffy to the outside world. Really. Whether she's considered Queen of the Slayers, The Only Slayer, big sister, best friend, daughter, student, mentor, California girl… No matter how you swing it, she's still Buffy. She never loses her distinct self, not once, and she never would. She can laugh, she can cry, she can give strength, and triumph, but she can still be hurt, and she can still love. She can still live. Her life may be more of a daily battle than it's ever been before, each passing moment bringing the possibility for an Apocalyptic disaster, but she still gets through it with perk and a chipper smile.

Now; the following is a more detailed outline of particular aspects of Buffy, including some very poignant strengths and weaknesses she possesses.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Mimio
Age: Approximately 21
Canon Point: Post-series, after he has become Toshiaki’s lover.
Species: Robot with cat ears and tail.
Gender: Male
Orientation: Gay; there is no evidence that he wouldn’t fall in love with a female character, but his canon has him created by a group of high school students, then advertised as a female-type machine designed to be a refined lady by day but a wild woman by night. He canonically falls in love with Toshiaki, a man. I feel that partially due to programming and canonic evidence, Mimio would identify more easily as gay.

History: Love Neco is a rather short canon- one volume total. The basic point of it centers around a huge prank, essentially. Three high school boys create love dolls based off of their ecchi game girls, except somehow what they love in 2-D doesn’t translate to 3-D so well. No problem. Modify the doll to be male, and sell it with a female photo on a website with a tiny disclaimer that item may not be exactly like the photo.
Enter Yabuki Eiji, a high school teacher (and ironically, the teacher of the high school boys who create the robots). He buys the first one, Necoco, under the idea that she’ll be this perfect cat-eared lady, sweet and precious, the very embodiment of moe. What he gets is a pushy catboy, who’s more than willing to push Eiji down in the doorway and have his way with him. Admittedly not the best way to get your new owner to love you. And of course, there’s a no-return policy. Eiji somehow manages to tsundere his way through four chapters, slowly coming to terms with the idea that hey, maybe he really does have something for the catboy, finally admitting to it after a scary moment where Necoco’s batteries burn out and he thinks he’s dead. After Necoco’s batteries are switched, and he can properly confess, the bulk of the story is over.
Mimio is a character from a one-shot extra, a catboy made by the same students. This time, however, his owner has no big conflict with the fact that Mimio is a boy. Toshiaki has apparently had a bit of time to adjust to the fact that the ‘refined lady’ robot he bought is not actually female, and he doesn’t seem to care. In fact, his big issue is that he loves Mimio, but all Mimio seems to see is a person unwilling to use him for his intended purpose, instead keeping him to do housework. Mimio is willing to do just about anything to get at Toshiaki, including pretending he’s asleep in order to get a kiss. This starts a fight, which quickly escalates to Toshiaki offending Mimio by telling him he should just keep to the housework and stop with the seduction. Mimio decides that perhaps he’d be better off dead, and tries to throw himself off the balcony, but is stopped by Toshiaki. The businessman then confesses his love for the catboy, who tearfully admits that he loves him too, but he wasn’t sure how Toshiaki felt and was willing to try and use his body to make him love him eventually. At the end, Mimio and Toshiaki become lovers- with Mimio being the unexpected top in the relationship.
Appearance: There are no canon colors for him, so all colorschemes are my headcanon. Mimio is a smallish, slender catboy, almost delicate looking. I imagine he’s only about 5’3” or so, just above average female height in Japan. He has large eyes, possibly bright blue, and shaggy hair that I imagine to be white. His tail and ears match his hair. He typically dresses more feminine than not; the outfit he spends the majority of the chapter in is a baggy overshirt with pearls and ribbons sewn on, a black tanktop, a pair of dark shorts and knee socks.
Personality: Mimio is a real sweetheart, created to be the perfect housewife. He’s concerned for the health of all in his household, and he will ask the embarrassing questions no one wants to answer in order to make sure that his family is healthy. He has very little to no shame, and does not care about who is around or where you are when he asks- proof of point, he asks Toshiaki when he takes care of himself over dinner. He means well by it; he was designed not just to be the perfect housewife but to be a love doll, and that’s just another part of his function. He harbors no delusions about what he is, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have emotions. He does, and he is willing to show them, often in extreme fashions.
Mimio is also a sneaky little brat, and he will do just about anything to accomplish his goals. He will pretend to be asleep to get a kiss, and possibly worse for more. For him, the ends often do justify the means, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about who he’s tricking. He would only resort to trickery in a very extreme situation. Given, though, “very extreme” to him is something a little less major to someone else.
Though he is a robot, he’s more than a bit sentient, able to think and reason and draw his own conclusions. He does, however, know what he was made for, and he’s not shy about letting people in on the secret. He’s well equipped to co-lead a household, partially due to things I’ll go into in the abilities section, partially due to his strong will and determination to get things done, generally his way. Though he may not look it, he is a rather dominant person, mostly due to his programming, but also because he is unafraid to do what he needs to in order to get his way.
Abilites: Mimio is a housewife, essentially, which means that he’s programmed to make sure the household runs as smoothly as possible. To this end, he can cook, mainly Japanese cuisine but certainly other kinds as well, and he is able to clean quickly and efficiently. I also imagine that he’d be able to mend things with decent success, and given enough time and a pattern able to sew anything. While his abilities are mainly domestic, he’s also a decent actor, able to pretend to be the dewy-eyed innocent when he’s most certainly not.

First Person: [The cat’s got the hang of this cell phone thing. He hasn’t had much use for one before; home phones are decent enough to get hold of who he needs, and it’s not as if he left home often. But home is different now, and he has questions that need answering. And part of that involves a few false starts and finally this.]
First off, I’m just wondering how I got here. And where here is. Last time I checked I didn’t have a yard, much less lawn furniture, and I sure can’t drive. So that’s question one.
Question two, where can I find a gallon of milk? And maybe some eggs? I ought to start stocking up, right, I mean, how can you run a house without food?

Third Person: Mimio was starting to get settled in, mostly from necessity to have some sense of normal in his life than anything. This was just a bit upsetting though. He’d never had a new home to move into, to be frank, and so he had come in expecting what he’d gotten with Toshiaki: several days’ worth of laundry piled up, the dishes from dinner the previous night, and sweeping left for a week.
What he got instead was a fresh, clean house, no laundry, no sweeping, just decorating and stocking to do. He wasn’t quite sure what to do with himself at first. It wasn’t that he had to clean, and obviously it didn’t require it, but it would give him something to do while he figured out what was going on. There was looking around to do, he supposed, until he got hungry enough to make something to eat. And, well, he’d never had a yard, just a balcony, so maybe looking in the backyard would be interesting…
“Whoa… no way!” Mimio gasped in awe, hurrying over to the pool. He’d seen them on TV, but as for having one of his own, no way! Did he even know how to swim, oh, who cared. He had a pool, he could learn! And besides, this was like deluxe to him. He’d just gone from fairly high end apartment to house in the suburbs, perhaps this wasn’t going to be all bad after all.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Ren Ichimoku, "Moku"
Age: 400+, but looks like a man who's in his early 20s or so.
Canon Point: Episode 15 of the third season, Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae. Nothing important has been happening in episode 2 to 15 in the third season, all are just the regular "something happens, something gets done" episodes with no actual relation to the plot.
Species: Demon Humanoid (previously a sword)
Gender: Male
Orientation: He's pretty confused by all human-related things, so having a sexual orientation is something that eludes him. He's pretty heterosexual, though. (see personality)

History: Here
Appearance: Link
Personality: Ichimoku Ren had been around ever since the Feudal Era of Japan. He's killed a lot of people and has caused a lot of bloodshed. At this point in time, Ichimoku Ren had no human form. He was a katana, a soulless item which was passed onto soldier to soldier. His last owner died in the battlefield, and he lay there on the ground, abandoned for hundreds of years. And according to legend in Japan, an item becomes sentient after hundreds of years of being in the "world".

Enma Ai, the Girl from Hell, finds a katana abandoned in the battlefield and gives it a body. This katana then becomes Ichimoku Ren, the servant of the Girl from Hell. From this point forward, the sword (now personified) starts serving Ai and the Hotline to Hell. The Hotline to Hell is a website which can only be accessed at midnight by those who have an immense amount of rage. If someone accesses it, they can type in the name of the person they have a grudge against. Then, they will meet the Girl from Hell, who in turn will give them a straw doll (either black, blue, red, or yellow) with a red string around its neck. If they pull the red string, the person they have a grudge on will go to hell immediately (guided by Ai and her servants by showing heavy and terrifying illusions, etc.). However, whoever pulls the red string will also go to hell when they die.

Moku tries as much to not have feelings, as much as he wants to. He usually gets attached to their clients or to the person going to be sent to hell to the point that he wants the two people to reconcile. He somehow tries this whole "bridge to reconciliation" thing but most of the time, he is stopped by either Wanyuudo or Hone-Onna because they aren't supposed to interfere with Ai's (they call her Ojou or milady) job, and that they are only servants. Whenever this happens, Moku ends up questioning himself about how humans really are.

Despite being a servant with a tough job, Moku is actually easygoing, go with the flow, and laid back. He's the one who usually cracks the jokes during investigations which... get him hurt or yelled at. He always keeps himself in a light disposition because that's pretty much all he can have. He doesn't like wallowing too much on deep human emotions because he hasn't understood any of those yet. He is, however, very curious about the human mind and emotions and how those two work works. He acts friendly and polite when need be, but he can also be stern about some things, especially when it concerns Ai. Like any loyal servant, Moku will sacrifice anything and everything for his master.

Aside from all those, Moku also dislikes doing anything nasty, which is probably why he gets attached to their clients or victims. Among Ai's servants, he is usually the one who shows protests against some things Ai does. He also doesn't like people who do dirty kinds of businesses either. In some investigations, he will act kind to the client or the future victim but whenever he's alone with the other servants, he'll talk to them about how bad whoever they are and things like that, with somewhat a sarcastic and cynical tone. That, or he usually just talks to himself because what is having human emotions why are humans so weird and selfish.

Moku's curiosity regarding how the human mind words sort of takes a toll on him at times. He can just be very inquisitive about things and just ponder on them. He'll ask his companions why some humans do this, or why some humans do that. When he gets extremely curious though, he tends to put his own thoughts first before his job. He interferes with what he's supposed to do. If he's supposed to send someone to hell, he might prevent that by trying to talk to the client or something like that. His lack of knowledge regarding human mentality can be considered a weakness, because, well, it's something that he doesn't fully understand, even though he looks and acts human. It's something that needs to be fixed too, considering he has to play the role of a human for investigation purposes. It's something that his companions tell him to change because they're supposed to put their emotions aside to be able to do their jobs.

He also likes to put his physical appearance before anything else. Basically, he likes to look good and he knows that he looks good. This is more for comedic relief, but there are times when he's doing his investigatory work and then someone just drops some bombs on him. In one episode, he finds out that the manager of the store he's working for is gay and has a crush on him. It's something that creeped him out at that point, and he felt uncomfortable for a while. Then there's the time when he thought a student wanted to send him to hell for his good looks, but was heavily disappointed when he found out that that wasn't the reason why.

He usually uses his beauty for investigating since he will usually get more information that way! Being told that he is a pretty boy is nothing to him but he will act humble if someone he isn't close to tells him that. Whenever he's with the Hotline to Hell group though, he tends to make jokes about his good looks, compared to how he usually is when it comes to the outside people. In one episode, someone types his name in the Hotline to Hell and he dismisses the whole thing as a case of jealousy or just plain hate. He said that the girl must have a crush on him to the point that she hates him and wants to send him to hell. Then he goes "AAAH WHY MUST I BE SO ATTRACTIVE?", so there. Tell him that he is ugly, and he will go into a silly depression state.

Abilites: Moku has the ability to turn into a blue strawdoll with a red string tied to his neck any time he wishes. He turns into one by kissing the dog tag that's hanging on his neck. That's the only way he can do that, so. But to be able to revert back to his human form, someone else has pull the red string.

Also, he can move from one place to another in a flash aka teleportation! And when he reappears, it's kind of like a giant eye spiraling and then suddenly taking shape of a man.

He also doesn't have a left eye attached to his face, which is why he covers his left side of the face with emo bangs. His left eye, however, still exists somewhere! It's not usually there, but he can make it appear on anything whenever he wants to. (Like so.) He usually uses this ability to spy on people, though! He can voyeur at anything ever without being seen, since even if the eye is really big, he can have it look invisible to the human eye (see what I did there). He can switch the visibility settings though of his giant eye as he pleases. If he wants to scare someone, the eye can be visible to anyone and they'll probably scream. He can also use his eye as a weapon by projecting seizure-inducing flashes of light at people. He is a disco ball.

Third Person:

Going around town to shop for groceries was something Moku had never done before. So when he found the cupboard almost empty, he realized that he had to go shopping for groceries. He had pretty much forgotten what was inside the cupboard before it was empty, though. He did, however, have an idea of what humans usually buy when they go grocery shopping.

He casually strolled along the cookies aisle to see if there was anything he wanted. He wasn't particularly fond of sweets because he might get fat, but he did like munching on them occasionally. He was particularly fond of those made from oatmeal. After that, he headed for the aisle that has all the laundry related things in it. He got lost a couple of times, but managed to find it after going around all the aisles twice.

Who knew grocery shopping would be so hard? Why were there so many choices for soap? It's soap for clothes, why is everything so complicated? Moku knew that the next time shopping was to be done, he would ask someone else to do it for him. But for now...

"Ah, excuse me. would you please tell me what the difference is between these bars of soap, and the powder ones?"

History:
Background for Dangan Ronpa characters is pretty....sparse to say the least. But I will elaborate on what I can.

Chihiro is well known across the internet as a super hacker. He has broken into many places that he shouldn't be in and spends quite a lot of time on Japanese image boards. He works for his father, who runs a software company. The job he was doing before Dangan Ronpa starts was programming a fully sentient Artificial Intelligence. Apparently, he did sort of finish the job, making a computer program that could learn from others by speaking with them.

At some point in his childhood, Chihiro formed a complex where he saw men as macho awesome dudes and people kept telling him to stop being so weak. To keep from being ridiculed, he began to dress and act like a girl. That way, no one would make fun of him. He doesn't believe he is a girl and strives to be more 'macho' so he can become more of a man but generally fails. This will be more elaborated on in the personality since it's a key part of him.

At any rate, he is invited to Hope Academy due to his hacking skills and it quickly turns into the murderfest that is the game, all orchestrated by the enigmatic figured called Monobear. Unsurprisingly, Chihiro is killed rather early but not out of malice. He had befriended another student called Mondo who represented everything Chihiro wanted to be. While training to be more manly, Chihiro revealed to Mondo that he was a guy. Mondo grew jealous of Chihiro's newly found inner strength and thought that Chihiro was trying to trick him into revealing his deep dark secret. In blind anger, he killed Chihiro, ending his part in the story.

But before Chihiro was killed, using a decade old laptop, he managed to create an Artificial Intelligence called Alter Ego, a computerized version of Chihiro. It was his last testament.

Appearance:
Official Art: http://i.imgur.com/QDpsq.jpg

Personality:
One of the biggest and most stand out things about Chihiro is that he is a boy who dresses like a girl. It should be noted that Chihiro doesn't have any issues with his gender identity but, instead, dresses like a girl to hide from being ridiculed. The one thing Chihiro hates most is being picked on and since he's small and weak, he's often made fun of because he's not manly. Instead, he dresses like a girl so others won't have any expectations of him but that doesn't mean he likes it. Instead, it depresses him almost as much as being made fun of because he's fulfilling everyone's perception by running away from his problems instead of confronting them.

Despite that, Chihiro has an amazing inner strength. With all his failures at trying to be more 'manly', he doesn't just give up and calls it quits. Instead, he keeps trying and trying, causing himself more pain and depression along the way, but he still never gives up. It's that fortitude that is both a blessing and a bane. You see, Chihiro dislikes conflict. When someone rudely disagrees with him or makes fun of him, he breaks down into tears almost instantly. But Chihiro also wants to try his hardest at everything and not be useless. This causes problems within himself as neither side of him wants to make way for the other, making him feel even worse.

It is also remarked multiple times that Chihiro gets along much better with guys than girls. He fits in better with guys and that is what makes him so popular online among male dominated boards. All of the men using the internet see him as a girl who gets along with and understands the guys, making Chihiro something of an online idol among those who are shut ins. Among girls, Chihiro is often uncomfortable and finds it difficult to hold a conversation. This is mostly likely because he is a teenage guy and also socially awkward so he's suffering from normal guy problems. Either way, he looks up to both Sakura and Asahina, two other people at Hope Academy, because despite being girls, both are very strong and represent something he wants to be. But because they're girls, he has trouble relating to them, leaving him something of a nervous and slightly blushy mess.

Overall, Chihiro is a very gentle person who prefers to avoid the limelight as much as possible. He enjoys watching others succeed and it makes him happy because it lets him believe he can be like that too. He is unfortunately stuck in a never ending circle of failing but he'll continue trying to be a different person and change himself. That's what makes Chihiro, Chihiro.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Taokaka
Age: Somewhere between 15-18
Canon Point: Post Continuum Shift
Species: Kaka
Gender: Female
Orientation: Good question. Tao's pretty childish, so she doesn't really have one yet, though she does seem to enjoy busty girls. Just not in a sexual way.

History: Here!
Appearance: This
Personality: Taokaka may be a strong warrior and great fighter, but she is also quite the ditz. Taokaka’s favorite things are eating and sleeping. Being a cat girl, this is almost expected of her. Her obsession with food is especially great, with food is the ultimate in motivation for Taokaka. She is constantly looking for food, and even tries to steal Ragna’s food in one story mode path, completely oblivious to the fact that her bounty is in front of her face. Her preferred food is meat, and her favorite kind of food is meat buns. She constantly asks for them throughout the extra tips section, where Litchi tries to teach Tao about the world of BlazBlue. Her hunger is also extreme, with Taokaka being able to feel hungry right after a big meal, and starving only an hour after eating.

Tao herself, when not sleeping, is extremely energetic and upbeat. So energetic that her special ability in the gameplay itself is literally flying and bouncing around. In story mode, a good portion of her fights are Taokaka just playing or training to be a vigilante. In fact, she greatly enjoys fighting, seeing it as a form of entertainment and just a simple act of playing. She is also very expressive, though this may be due to the lack of face besides a mouth and eyes. While usually sporting her default big grin, Taokaka has a wide variety of facial expressions, loudly sporting her latest emotion, be it happiness, anger, lethargy, or the ever popular :3 face. Though, throughout the various branches of BlazBlue’s story, she is usually usually happy, unless she is hungry or battling Arakune.

Taokaka is also very, very forgetful. She can even forget what she was doing in the span of three steps! In her story mode, she very quickly loses purpose of tracking down Ragna and never manages to fulfill that goal. Most of the time she ends up becoming friends with Ragna whenever they meet, due to the fact Ragna feeds her, instantly launching him up into “good guy” territory. She also cannot remember a single thing taught to her in the extra side stories where Litchi and co. teach her. Her memory issues probably have to do with the fact she is very easily distracted. Despite this, she actually does listen to the explanations given to her and actually seems to enjoy learning, showing that Tao is also a curious creature.

Another product of her forgetfulness and short attention span is her inability to call anyone by their names. She refers to herself as Tao, but beyond that everyone gets a nickname. Her good friend Litchi is dubbed “boobie lady,” Ragna “good guy,” Rachel “rabbit,” Arakune “black squiggly,” V-13 “flappy flap,” and so on. No matter how much Litchi insists her name is Litchi Faye-Ling, Taokaka will always call her boobie lady. Speaking of which, Tao has a strange love of boobs, due to their similarity to meat buns. She constantly gropes Litchi’s and even tries to eat them, and calls out Noel on her lack of breasts, telling her if she eats meat buns they’ll get bigger.

All in all, Taokaka is a very comedic character, true to the cat girl she is. Speaking of which, when speaking, Taokaka usually modifies words to sound like nya or meow, and often adds cat sound effects to the end of sentences. Her story mode and other character’s encounters with her are rarely, rarely serious, besides Arakune’s and arguably Jubei’s encounters with her. In fact, most of her and her tribe’s backstory is show through other characters, such as Litchi’s conversation with the Kaka elder. The closest Tao gets is the vague comments from Hakumen suggesting a failed experiment. Of course, true to her carefree nature, the endings of Tao’s stories usually seem to end in either food or her falling asleep, never having caught Ragna or gotten any money.

Abilites: Tao does not have any magical abilities, instead just being very athletic. She is very fast and fights using claws contained in her jacket. Though no special powers per se, Tao is definitely super human in terms of her strength and agility, but then again, most fighting game characters are. Well, she can seem to split into two people in one of her special moves, Almost Becoming Two!, but that’s more of a product of going fast than an actual doppelgänger.

Other: Nope!

SAMPLES
First Person:Link!

Third Person:
Tao was wandering through the streets of the city, as she had grown somewhat accustomed to now. She had already passed the initial confused stages, which, for her, didn’t last that long. Indeed she had far, far more important things on her mind. Boring questions like ‘where am I?’ and ‘how did I get here?’ were not welcome in Tao’s ever hyper mind. She had one goal right now, and one goal alone. It could even be called the most important goal ever conceived by mankind. Well, Kaka kind, at the very least.

“Meoooooowwwwww… Tao’s hungryyyyyyy!”

The pursuit of food was an essential factor to all living creatures’ continued existence, yet Tao’s love of it was a bit more than most. Indeed, she had just eaten an hour ago, and she was already about to pass out from hunger. Her eyes darted back and forth from various buildings, trying to find some place to placate her growing hunger. Whatever she was doing before such hunger struck was unimportant, as it was all that her mind revolved around now.

“Someplace has to have food around here, meow! Tao’s gonna waste away to nothing if Tao doesn’t find someplace fast!”

Of course, the girl was just exaggerating. If someone even so much as mentioned food, she’d be just as bursting with energy as always, ready to claim said food as her own and devour it with a speed untouched by most. However, until food appeared, Tao would just continue dragging her feet, completely devoid of any usual spirit.

IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Riku Miyagusuku
Age: 14
Canon Point: Volume 5; before the final battle at the Opera house
Species: Chevalier
Gender: Male physically, seems to be a bit feminine mentally though
Orientation: Heterosexual; He's never been in any relationships, and has no romantic interest in anyone of the same sex.

History: Some Here but since most of it is from the anime:

Riku is the youngest adopted child of George Miyagusuku, and the younger brother of his sister Saya and his brother Kai, and usually refers to his brother and sister with the suffix 'nii/nee-chan'. When Saya finds him after school getting bullied, she jumps in to help and the two manage to run off, but Saya feels that their family isn't normal because they aren't blood related but Riku reassures her that she is his sister and nothing would change that. When the bar their father owns is attacked, Riku is caught in a gas explosion, but he survives with some injuries and is kidnapped by a boy named Charles, who isn't a normal boy, which Riku learns soon after waking up when the boy bites him to obtain blood to recover from his injuries.

Thus began his time spent with Charles.

Despite the initial encounter, Riku begins to grow on him, not even minding when he is told that he would be the boy's 'servant' unit Saya and the others working with Red Shield came to rescue him. Regardless, Riku still remains kind towards him, and when Charles asks if he afraid of him, Riku says he isn't, although in one instance he is frightened when the other boy rips his heart out in front of him, and this hurts Charles, whom he had claimed not to be afraid of. This makes Riku regret this reaction later on, and when he is confined to a cell, he finds that Charles had left him the moth he caught when they first met and made it a present for Riku. Desperately, Riku tries to save him by jumping in front of a bullet to shield Charles, getting severely injured in the process. Charles found this foolish, but Riku was the kind of person who did not want to leave things as they were, he didn't want the boy to think he had been lying to him. When Riku is asked why he did such a thing, he says it is because he wanted to thank the boy for the gift, and dies soon after.

Not wanting to lose their only little brother, Saya decides to give Riku her blood, which would turn him into a Chevalier, although once this happens he would no longer be human. When he is attacked and kidnapped by another Chevalier once again, he meets Diva, Saya's twin sister who he first mistakes for his sister. When she tells him about how Saya killed Charles, Riku refuses to believe his sister would do such a thing, which is also when he soon discovers that he is no longer human. Before returning to Saya, Kai and the others he finds a boy--a weapon that was cloned from Charles, and he decides to keep it and looks after him, not knowing at first that it was not the real thing, but simply a weapon made for fighting the Chiropterans.

After he gets reunited with his brother and sister, having to fight off a Chiropteran that almost attacks Kai, Riku discovers that Saya did really kill Charles, and this drives him to argue that no one deserves to die, even if it were chirpoterans, which he himself had become. Understanding how the other boy had felt, this makes him want to prevent anyone else from having to die and becomes determined to stop his sister from having to kill Diva and the other Chiropterans.

In the end, he couldn't prevent Diva from having to die, but he joins the Red Shield along with the clone of Charles to help finish off the remaining Chiropterans so that no one else has to die, and goes to visit his family from time to time.

Riku Miyagusuku | Blood+ | Reserved | 2/2

[personal profile] limenitis 2012-05-04 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
Appearance: Here

Personality:
Riku is a very kind-hearted boy, who trusts people too easily that its scary. He is highly against violence and dislikes fighting, he is a pacifist when it comes to things like that and usually does anything in his power that he possibly can to avoid it. Though, he does stand up for what he believes in, he does so without raising a hand to another person unnecessarily unless he truly has to and above all else he does not like to see bloodshed, be it family or even strangers. What makes him naive is the fact that he is very friendly, too friendly and that leads him to trouble. However, this is not to say that he hasn't fought before; when his siblings were in danger he steps in to protect them from getting hurt because he cares deeply for them and his family is very important to him.

Unlike most boys his age, Riku enjoys cooking and household things like cleaning and doting on others, especially his family, pretty much to the point that he can be seen as somewhat of a mother hen. Unlike his older siblings, Saya and Kai, Riku is the one who is more rational about things than the two of them, and usually wears a smile on his face like a little kid. Don't get him wrong, Riku does get angry on occasion as well, but usually only when people hurt those that he cares about or hurt others for their own gain, which is seen when he gets angry at Van for talking cruelly about Charles after using him like a guinea pig and speaking about hm as if he were nothing but trash.

He's the type that can make friends quickly, and once he's comfortable enough with you, he's pretty much your friend for life and will do just about anything to look out for you and help because that's just the kind of person that he is. Unlike some cases, Riku is a good person, through and through and due to this he constantly seems to get caught up in dangerous situations, as seen by him getting kidnapped on more than one occasion.

More of his kind nature comes out when he first meets Charles, a boy who turns out to be a Chevalier, one of the 'monsters' that his sister hunts down. Although they are supposed to be enemies, Riku looks past the fact that the boy isn't human and his flaws, accepting him and even befriending him. Even despite the fact that the boy had kidnapped him, bitten him when he first awoke and told him he was a 'servant' until he was rescued, Riku never once loathed Charles despite the situation he was in. In fact, during their short time together Riku grew close to him constantly following him around like a pet. He also tells Charles that he isn't afraid of him in the least despite anything he says or does. When it comes to protecting those he cares about, Riku is willing to put himself in harm's way to keep them safe; going as far as jumping in front of a bullet to protect Charles, thanking him for a moth that the boy had given Riku as a present.

Due to this incident, Saya is forced to turn Riku into a Chevalier to bring him back to life by giving him her blood. When he becomes one though, this does not change his ideals at all, and he remains firm about his belief in not wanting conflict or bloodshed. It also doesn't seem to change him as a person, he still is the kind and gentle boy that he was when he still had his humanity, which is a bit ironic since Chiropterans are known to be bloodthirsty creatures who kill people for blood. From looking at his small appearance, one would never know that he were one of the violent creatures that humans fear so much.

The flaw in such a gentle person is how he refuses to believe that anyone in the world is truly just evil. In his eyes, every single person, even if they are an enemy, has good in them. He believes that deep down they deserve a second chance and is even willing to stand up to his belief, which leads to him getting into an argument with Saya about Chiropterans being evil and how they should all die, but he doesn't want that to happen. Which brings another thing, Riku does not like to see anyone die, if he can he tries anything to avoid it. Even when it comes down to the decision that the only way to stop countless people from being turned into Chiropterans is to kill Saya's twin sister Diva, he desperately tries to find a better solution without having to kill anyone. It may seem selfish, but to him no one truly simply just 'deserves to die'. He's also quite intelligent for someone his age and is well-educated, as he is able to identify a moth that he spots during his initial time being held captive by Charles.

Basically, Riku is a good kid. He isn't the type to pick a fight with anyone, and tries to avoid fighting as much as possible. Even after all he's gone through, losing a friend, being turned into a monster, and having to face danger, he never gives up and sticks to what he believes in as well as looking out for his loved ones. Why? That's just Riku. It’s the kind of person he is; he doesn't need a reason to, its simply in his nature to do so.

Abilities:
Riku is a Chevalier, an enhanced form of Chiropterans, which are hideous looking monsters that kill humans and feed on them as well. ->Enhanced speed
->Enhanced physical strength
->Ability to sense other chirpoterans
->Loss of the need to sleep
->Passage of time stopped (i.e. Can no longer age or grow older)
->Self-regeneration from injuries (require a large amount of blood if they are weakened though)

Other:
->Has developed an interest in moths…
->Pacifist
->Looks for the good in everyone, even evil, malicious people
->Took a bullet to protect his friend
->He's teased by others for his almost 'motherly-like' tendencies
->Good at cooking

SAMPLES
First Person: [Oh boy, now what? Did he get kidnapped again? He goes off, hastily searching every room and every nook and cranny, even under the chairs although it was unlikely that anyone would really hide there.

Picking up the cell phone that was sitting on the table, he glances at it before holding it to his ear. Although he didn't exactly have one of his own, he knew about them and how to use one.
]

Uh hello, has anyone seen a boy and girl around here that look like they could be in high school? If you do, please tell me. I'm sorry for bothering anyone, I just want to make sure they are safe. I'm not familiar with this place but…its nice to meet everyone. So, thank you very much for your time!

[Okay, that didn't go so bad. Now he had to track down his brother and sister and make sure they were okay! He may have been stuck there, but he couldn't just sit around all day. He'd figure something out, but for now he would just have to get used to living like this and do what he could.]

Third Person: Well, since the house was already tidied up it saved him the trouble of doing it himself. He'd already given himself a personal tour of the place, and to be honest it was actually quite a shock. Though, since he had been in situations where he'd woken up only to find himself in strange, unfamiliar places he quickly got used to it.

When the bedroom door opens he turns and puts on his best friendly face. The woman--or rather, his supposed 'mother' walked in and he smiled, it was obvious she wasn't his real mother but Riku still appreciated that he had someone around taking care of him. A sudden thought comes to him and--
"Do we have any books on moths? O-or insects maybe? Ah!…I'm sorry I…guess I was just thinking about something, uh, n-never mind."

Well, that was a bit embarrassing. She gave him a confused look but he simply chuckled over the sudden nostalgia. What was he doing? It felt a bit lonely at that moment for some reason, but Riku shook it off and took the woman's hand, leading her back to the kitchen and helping her prepare something to eat.

Whew, he managed to dodge a bullet there, it seemed.
