History:This is a thorough history of Hiyoko's life as we know it! Again, there are potential spoilers for SDR2! Appearance:What a sunny demeanor! Personality: As the Super High School Level Traditional Dancer and heir to the Saionji clan, Hiyoko grew up with all of her needs tended to. She undoubtedly ate well, dressed in beautiful clothes, and was engrossed in Japanese culture at it's finest. Her performances took her overseas countless times, and she became extremely popular; both with older men and younger girls. Certainly a girl such as her would walk with grace and treat everyone with the demure nature befitting of a young Japanese girl, correct?
Absolutely wrong. Hiyoko is a spoiled brat who scoffs at foreign cultures and commoners, at the same time preying on any sort of weakness she sees in a person to bully them mercilessly. She manipulates people with her self proclaimed cute looks and supposed crocodile tears, stringing people along to sympathize with her and promise her something she wants before she stops and laughs at how gullible they are to believe her. Hiyoko isn't afraid to speak her mind, and the last thing she cares about is if she hurts someone else's feelings. She considers it a favor!
To no surprise, Hiyoko does not make friends easily. While she calls everyone onii-chan or onee-chan, she sees friendship as a bunch of weaklings plotting together. And especially so, she thinks that because she is of noble blood, no one else is worthy to be anything but her slave. This may seem excessively cruel, there is a very important part of her upbringing to know.
She hates being a part of the Saionji clan because of their cruel nature. The clan was jealous of Hiyoko because despite her father only marrying into the clan, Hiyoko was born with such talent in dancing that her granny designated her heir to the clan. Sabotage was a normal thing while growing up, and if everything she claims is a joke during her Free Time Events is true, the girl was targeted constantly. Needles in her shoes, dead mice, dropping lights during her performances, and even poisoning her food were all things she dealt with, and to top it all off she wasn't allowed to see her own parents. It's easy to see that her bullying and manipulation is a result of the treatment she dealt with--she had to find some way to cope.
One of the most interesting aspects of Hiyoko's characters is her friendship with Mahiru Koizumi. Yes, friendship. She originally forced Mahiru to take a shower with her and help her retie her obi (something she is unable to do herself) but it quickly became obvious that she had taken a liking to Mahiru. She was the first person to show Hiyoko kindness and sympathy, and Hiyoko instantly latched onto her. Friendship is magic and saves everyone, right?! Not quite, but the two become close friends even though Hiyoko claimed friends were for losers. In her mind, Mahiru was special, though it's more likely that she really was the first person to be legitimately nice to her.
Abilities: Hiyoko is absolutely amazing at traditional Japanese dancing! She cannot, however, dress herself. She's pretty average at everything else in life. Other: N/A
Third Person: Hiyoko was, simply put, not fit to be a wife. This was obvious both in her stature and personality, but for whatever reason she had decided to do the shopping for her newfound family. It was most likely pity and a desperate attempt to gain control.
So, she found herself pushing a cart down the aisles of the grocery store, head barely reaching over the top of the cart. No matter, as it was easy enough to hook her geta onto the bottom bar and push with her other foot. In fact, it was that exact maneuver that put her into her current situation.
On the floor, with the remains of a fruit display rolling at her feet. "Not again…" she grumbled, picking herself up to look at the damage she had done. It wasn't fair! She just wanted to have fun, but the damn fruit had gotten in her way before she could stop the cart! It wasn't her fault that the layout of this store was so poor! There was no way she had enough money on her card to pay for the fruit.
But the heir of the Saionji clan was never without a plan. A scapegoat to find! In mere seconds tears welled in her eyes and, bunching the sleeves of her furisode to look more pathetic, she dashed up to the nearest person with a loud sob,
"Uwaaaaaaaah!!! O-Onee-chaaaaaaaan, save me! I fell a-and I don't have anymore money…"
