Abilities:

Homura's magical specialty, its source being her Soul Gem, is manipulating time. To activate this ability, she uses a small metal shield that appears over her wrist, which is filled with levels of sand. Thus, she can freeze time over a wide radius, teleport, and revert time all the way back to her initial meeting of Madoka.

She can also freeze time for other people, so long as she is in physical contact with them. Once the sand in her shield runs out, time returns to normal.

The shield can also be used to store an infinite amount of items, and deflect attacks to a certain degree. Since her magic cannot be used to fight offensively, Homura utilizes a rather humorous and fairly fearsome arsenal of guns, ranging from pistols, to grenades, to machine guns, to rifles, to even rocket launchers.

"M...Madoka..."

Once again, all her efforts were for naught. But what hurt the most was that, this time around, Kyuubey had little to do with Madoka's fate taking yet another turn for the cruel.

Homura groans as consciousness tugs at the edges of her mind, only to take a deep, thick, shaking breath when she shifts. She furrows her brow. It feels awfully warm.

Just like Madoka's light, as she faded away before her very eyes, was.

Homura sobs, tears pushing to the surface of her eyes. No. Madoka herself had freely chosen this fate---to become hope itself; the hope that would guide and save the magical girls through their eternal war against despair. Sure, that was a far better destiny than becoming a Witch, but it was just as terrible. Sad.

Unfair. A fate worse than death.

"Don't..."

Homura wipes at her eyes groggily, feeling the wetness soak her sleeve.

For what was a world without Madoka? What was the point? After all of the timelines Homura reset, after all of the hard work she put in, after being shunned and turned away by the other girls time and time again, after bearing witness to the harsh truth and the suffering it brought, after watching heplessly as Madoka died, again and again and again---

---Had there been no point to begin with...? Even though Madoka meant everything to her? Even though Madoka was the sole thing that kept her going through the loneliness and the fighting?

....Homura was back at square one.

"Madoka, don't go...!"

Homura finally sits up from the lawn chair, extending a hand desperately toward where her dear friend should've been, only to squint her eyes at the sunlight shining on the idyllic homes and the shiny cars. She blinks to clear her vision.

This wasn't Mitakigahara. She instinctively goes to clutch Madoka's hair ribbon, but that's not there, either.

Neither is her Soul Gem.

Homura hesitantly rises to her feet.

Am I dead...?

That's actually a really good point you bring up! While I can certainly get behind the view that she's technically an adult due to warping through time, I myself see her age as being 14 physically, but 18+ spiritually. She certainly has been forced to grow up very quickly due to the tragedies and suffering she's witnessed and experienced, and comes off as being very adult-like because of that, but at her core, Homura is still a young girl. Her wish says it all---she merely wants to save her best friend. Another factor is the recklessness with which she tries to achieve this wish; true, she has her course of action all planned out, but she tends to sometimes take things too far, and as she resets timelines over and over, she's so focused on saving Madoka that she doesn't realize she may actually be perpetuating the problem until it's nearly too late.

In short: her childlike attributes are well-hidden behind her experience. She's still a 14 year-old, just...more mature.

Plus, frankly, to see her play the role of child when she is so mature would be humorous.

Ah, got it. Well...when you take into consideration that she's gone through 100 timelines (possibly more), all lasting the course of a month's worth of time---technically, that would make her 18+. An adult slot would suit her, when you think about it, and canonically, she appears to live alone, so...yes.

If I need to add in an orientation section, I'll gladly do it.

I'd love to have her in a house with just children! (Homura as a single mom...yeah, I can't resist...)
