History:Here! Appearance:Here! Personality: Sanae is that well-meaning girl that's easy to become friends with. She's amiable and loves chatting with people about anything, and especially loves anything having to do with anime, aliens or mecha, so any conversation dealing with those is bound to become a great conversation starter with her. She's also very protective of her friends, defending them in times of need, and even more so of those she deems to be her family. Sanae is a fighter through and through, and does not take bullying or mean things very well coming from others. However, she's very polite to her seniors and people in a higher position or rank than her, preferring to call them -sama or -san or whatever is appropriate for them.
However, Sanae likes to view things as morally right or wrong, and bases her reactions off whether she thinks something is one way or the other. She believes in justice and also punishing people that do bad things (such as the youkai that start incidents in Gensokyo in the canon), and that she must carry this out herself, whether the other heroines wish to help or not. Originally she was pushed to punish people that threatened her shrine's god, Kanako, but she developed her own sense of justice instead later on. Because of this, she's become something of a youkai exterminator in Gensokyo, mirroring that of what Reimu Hakurei does; however, she does it because she believes it's right and just, which is very different from how the other miko thinks. Her 'sense of justice' has also given her a bit of a gullible streak; believing anything that her shrine does is the right thing and will defend it. This tends to stretch to what her friends tell her, since she tends to help her friends and family in any way she can. She believes there's good in most people, but even she is not gullible to belieive that everyone has good intentions.
Coinciding with the thing above, Sanae believes that everyone should work hard to help not only themselves, but others. She is a hard worker (and believes herself to be the harder working of the two Gensokyo mikos, though this is not hard to prove) and always works towards getting her jobs done, both as a miko and as the Moriya Shrine's keeper. She's more than willing to help others when they need it, especially if it's important (and sometimes, even when they don't necessarily need it), but this sometimes leads her to getting used by others to get jobs done for them when they're too lazy to do so. In this sense, she isn't very fond of slackers or people who laze around. (Yes, this means Reimu too. And no, hunting youkai doesn't really count.) She's more than happy to pick up the slack, however, and while it won't make her think very well of the people who did the slacking, it won't deter her from finishing the task(s).
One thing she will not stand for, however, are people that seek to destroy or mess with things (such as certain youkai, also stated above), especially her friends, herself or her home. These people will be promptly met with Sanae, her gohei, and a very unhappy disposition with the whole matter. No matter the reason, she will not hesitate to fight back if she is assailed and if the person is a high enough threat, she will not hold anything back, such as when she had to punish her shrine's former god, Suwako, for letting a huge monstrosity go around Gensokyo without letting anyone else know and being secretive about it. However, there are times where she might misunderstand someone if they barge into her home for an emergency-related reason. This doesn't mean she's quick to take the first shot; rather, it's her irritation at the notion that someone would do such a thing.
Oh, and Sanae's also a bit of a ditz. She'll sometimes trip and fall without meaning to while rushing somewhere, or run into something while flying. She'll always stop to apologize to anyone she rams into either way, and makes sure everything is hunky-dory before skittering off again. She doesn't mean to do it, honest!
Abilities: As with most Touhou characters, Sanae can use spellcards and curtain fire/danmaku. For the uninitiated, danmaku is 'bullet hell,' or massive amounts of bullets being shot around in certain patterns. Lasers can be involved, as well as various other objects. Her special ability that is unique to her is the ability to have miracles occur. The variety that she can cause is quite vast and isn't exactly limited, though it can be considered good since miracles help people and places. She has multiple spellcards that she uses offensively and defensively.
Sanae also has the ability to float, similar to most characters in the Touhou canon. Other:

Third Person: Ah, what a beautiful day! The sun was shining, the birds were singing, the cars were going down the road... ... Wait a second, there weren't supposed to be any cars! This wasn't Sanae's shrine at all! The green-haired miko sighed, and closed the door behind her, walking out towards said road. She supposed it could have always been worse; at least she was acclimated to this sort of setting due to her life before moving the Moriya Shrine to Gensokyo. She couldn't imagine any of her friends in Gensokyo taking this nearly as well. She noticed she was holding a set of keys, and eventually saw the 'Your home away from home' thing, and figured if she was going to get to the bottom of this, she may as well stay calm. Besides, she couldn't float, or use her danmaku. ... Wait, WHAT!? Try as she might, she definitely did not feel herself floating into the air... and not even a single bullet was flying from her hands. ... She didn't have her gohei either. The smile Sanae had on her face was getting more and more fake by the minute.
Still, so far her day had been getting much better. Much much better than waking up face-first in a rug, on the floor, in the middle of a large living room with people sitting on the couch. And people she didn't know, at that! Even weirder, they hadn't even questioned her presence there, almost as if they thought she was supposed to be there! This place was getting weirder and weirder already, and she hadn't even been here for longer than five minutes.
She sighed. "I may as well make the most of this," she said while staring into the street. She needed to find her friends, and she needed to situate herself here. If someone wanted her here, she might as well let it be until something else comes up. But once she figured a way out she was taking it first thing... if she couldn't find the one responsible for this mess and punish him or her for their misdeeds.
She began walking down the sidewalk. She'd greet anyone she met, and she would definitely inquire into the whereabouts of the nearest food place. She was getting a bit hungry...
