SAMPLES First Person: [The feed begins with video. There's a quick glimpse of a girl's face, half of which is covered by her bangs. However, even through her bangs, the scars covering that half of her face are still visible. Hanako looks afraid, which is actually pretty normal for anyone in this kind of situation. Because face it, being torn out of your average, non-magical world and placed in some new setting is not very normal.
There's a moment of silence before Hanako gasps and fumbles around with the phone before she manages to turn the video function off. The audio remains on, though. Even though she's shocked at her current predicament, she needs to at least try to get some answers. There's a pause before she begins speaking quietly.]
Is...is anyone there? I'm n-not sure what to do...
[Hanako has to take a moment to compose herself. Deep breaths. She can do this.]
Where am I? Am I s-still in Japan?
[Well, the style of the houses and the setup of the community certainly didn't look Japanese, but she wanted to be sure. With any luck, someone could give her some answers.]
Third Person:
Upon arriving in Holly Heights, Hanako had been lost and confused. She was cut off from everything and everyone she knew, and everything she'd finally grown comfortable with. Thankfully, from what she'd seen, the community seemed at least somewhat normal. And no one had bothered her or made fun of her appearance. It seemed as long as she wanted to be left alone, it would be so. That was a slight relief.
Rather than stick around at the house she'd apparently been assigned to, she looked for something she could familiarize with. She wasn't ready to meet the other members of the household, as there were no doubt others. There were a fair number of shops and businesses that she passed by, only taking a moment or two to examine each. But she came across something that she'd always liked. A library.
Hanako had always found libraries to be a safe, quiet place where she could relax. Where she could lose herself in worlds of fantastic creatures and magic. Imagining those lush, beautiful landscapes that could only be found in books. So she found herself sitting at a small table in the back, thumbing through a novel she'd never read before. She could worry about everything else later.
