Personality: Serah is a kind hearted young woman who is mature beyond her years. This is partially due to the fact that her parents died at such a young age and she and her sister were left to fend for themselves for much of it. With her sister Lightning, who is only three years older than her, acting as a guardian, she wasn't afforded the ability to be completely immature like other kids. Serah has proven her maturity time and time again, making her more than capable of making her own decisions. Serah had planned to enroll into the university in Eden just before she was chosen to be a l'Cie, having taken a liking to history. Planning out and preparing to enroll in college on her own had to take a measure of level headedness and maturity to accomplish. If that wasn't enough, Serah fell in love with Snow and decided to marry him. Instead of not caring about anyone's approval, Serah wanted to take things slow and try to gain her sister's blessing before getting married, even if it was unlikely. The trials that she faced afterwards only seemed to make her grow even more into a mature woman. After the events that happened after she was released from her crystal prison, Serah decided to go on a journey with a man she didn't know much about simply because her sister had asked her to. Another good example of her maturity is when she found out that she would have to die once the journey with Noel came to an end and the timeline was corrected. Serah chose to go through with correcting the timeline anyway, even though she knew what would happen. It was for the good of all of the people in the world, including those that she knew and loved. No matter how you look at it, Serah is about as mature as a twenty one year old lady can be.

Though, just because she is very mature for her age doesn't mean she doesn't know how to have fun and joke around. Serah likes to laugh and joke around with her friends, but when it's appropriate. She is seem laughing and teasing Noel many times during their journey to try and correct the timeline and find Lightning. There have been many times during her travels that Serah and Noel laugh together. She often offers him words of encouragement and advice when they have the chance to talk, trying her best to stay positive. When a person has to experience things that are trying, it's important to take pleasure in the small things.

Serah is an incredibly kind girl. She is willing to go above and beyond the norm in order to help someone. With very little information at all, Serah agreed to set out on a journey to find her sister. While it originally started because of her own desire to see her sister, it turned into something more than that. Serah wanted to save the people she cared for. She wanted to help make a better future for all of the people in the world, especially after hearing how the future would turn out for Noel. Because of her desire to right the wrongs that had been committed, her sacrifices were great. Not only did she put herself in constant danger while having to fight battles and gave up her normal life in New Bodhum, but in the end, she freely gave her own life for everyone's happiness. She cares deeply for her friends and loved ones, especially her sister Lightning. Serah seems to take Lightning's word very seriously, as she sought out her approval to marry Snow and set out immediately after hearing that her sister had asked her to. Serah also has a close relationship with Noel, the man she met one day during an attack on New Bodhum. During the journey, the two had saved one another's lives multiple times and Serah is very grateful to Noel for it. It's Serah's kind nature that makes her popular among the people in New Bodhum, as well. She has many friends and often shows kindness towards even strangers, making her well loved by many people.

Even so, Serah does have a more stern side when it comes to other people and children. Serah has earned herself the nickname of "Meanie Miss Farron" to the children that she teaches because of her strict policies on tardiness and behavior. She isn't afraid to put her foot down when it comes to her beliefs and has even been described as being mean. Though it's usually pretty rare, it has been said by her students that she has a short temper and won't hesitate to scold people that she sees doing wrong. This is largely thanks to her being raised so closely to Lightning, who has a similar issue with her temper. Noel made mention of the fact that she resembled Lightning so closely when she gets angry in the game during one of the cutscenes. Serah, however, doesn't really think that she is terribly mean or strict with kids and openly denies it.

Serah is a definitely a worrier. She doesn't make it overly apparent, for fear of becoming a burden on other people. However, she does worry often about every little thing. One of her main concerns is her sister. During the beginning of the first game, she worried about her sister's opinion and getting her approval of her engagement to Snow. After Lightning's disappearance, most of the game is spent worrying about whether her sister is okay or not. She also worries about if she will be able to see her again and if she's doing well wherever she is. It's because of the close bond that she worries so much about her. Serah also worries quite a bit about Noel due to periods of melancholy and sadness on his part, largely caused by Yeul and his future. The only person she really doesn't worry too much about is her fiance, Snow. She seems pretty confident that he knows how to take care of himself and that he is fine without her. She also worries about how changing the timeline will affect the people living in the world, especially her friends. It all comes back to Serah having a pretty big heart and being caring towards most people.

Serah, as a person, has gone through some changes from the end of the first game to the second. The loss of her sister, Lightning, was one of the hardest things for her to come to terms with. Serah had always depended on her sister for so much and was thrilled that she was reunited with her, but it was short lived. Lightning was taken away from her and no one seemed to remember the events that had happened the way she did. Serah was completely devastated by this and she even questioned her own sanity. After all, she was the only person who had remembered things the way they actually happened. It left Serah feeling isolated from her friends in her home. The only person who believed her was her fiance, Snow, who left immediately after talking to her about Lightning to go and find her again. While it was a noble gesture on his part, it only furthered her feelings of isolation. Serah was left in New Bodhum, simply living life day to day, doing nothing on her own to follow after Snow or find her sister. Witnessing the death of Yeul throughout the times also had a profound effect on Serah. While it seemed that Yeul was working against them at first along with Caius, Serah eventually learned what Yeul was and what her wish was. Yule was forced to see everything and be reborn until the end of time. Her wish was to see a better future, where people were smiling. Her wish touched Serah's heart and she wanted to stop Yeul from dying over and over again. It wasn't only for her sake, but for Noel's too, who had seemed to have been close to the Yeul in his own time. As things progressed and Serah learned that she was a seeress, too, she felt a sort of kinship with Yeul. She felt that it was her duty then to fulfill Yeul's wish, no matter what the cost was to herself. After all, it was her own wish, too.

Serah's fateful meeting with Noel completely turned her life around. He had come to her from another world with word from her sister. Not only did it allow her to reassure herself that she wasn't crazy, but it gave her hope. Lightning was still out there somewhere and she was waiting for Serah to come to her. While not completely trusting of Noel at first, she did come around after he proved some things that he had said to be true. Serah quickly became good friends with Noel and felt a sense of camaraderie with him. They learned to become a support system for one another. When Noel had his doubts and felt troubled about things, Serah was there to help him and reassure him that they would fix things. The same was true for Noel. Whenever Serah was in danger or was feeling conflicted about things, Noel was there to help her. While the journey started out primarily as a mission to find Lightning for Serah, it began to evolve into something more than that as she got to know Noel. She wanted to make a better future for the people of the world and especially Noel, who she had found that had come from such a horrible future where he was the only person left. Without Noel, Serah never would have been able to complete the journey in the first place. More than that, without Noel, Serah would never have been urged to take action.

Gaining the ability to fight made a huge change to who Serah was. Before receiving the bow as a present from Lightning, Serah was completely defenseless. She relied heavily upon others to protect her and generally had an attitude that she was helpless to do anything about things that were happening around her. Serah hadn't been able to save Lightning and couldn't do anything to help Snow in his search. If anything, she felt that she would only slow him down, so she did as she was told and stayed in New Bodhum. However, when she was given Mog and the ability to fight, Serah's attitude began to turn around. Having a way to defend herself and others opened up a whole new world to her. Serah was now able to travel wherever she wanted and could take an active role in trying to find her sister and save everyone. Also, as time passed, being able to fight gave Serah a sense of confidence in herself and her own abilities. Instead of being passive as she had been in the past, she had changed into a strong young lady who took a proactive approach to problems.

Serah had always been a mature girl, but her scope of the world was pretty limited at the beginning of the game. While she had been through things that normal people didn't have to go through, she could only see the here and now and didn't really have real concerns for the future. Also, after Lightning's disappearance and Snow's departure, Serah was very inward focused. She was worried about the things close to her and just living life on the island. However, once the journey began, she slowly began to see that the problems that she faced were so much bigger than just herself. Getting to know Noel and traveling through time was really an eye opener for Serah. She was given a first hand view of how the future was going to turn out and the tragedies that would be brought down upon people if nothing was done to fix it. Seeing the ruin that each jump through time had and the paradoxes that had been created made Serah realize that she couldn't just stand by and do nothing. Besides, fixing the timelines accomplished two important things at once: they were helping make a better future for everyone, especially Noel, and it brought them closer to Lightning. The journey matured Serah even further when she realized that her life would come to an end if they continued to fix the twisted timeline. However, Serah realized that it was more important to set things right and save her loved ones. She decided to give her life for this purpose and not put a burden on the people around her.
Abilities: Serah is one of the seeresses, so she has the ability to see the future and see the changes in the timeline. However, she can't control the ability and the visions come to her randomly. She has the ability to do magic, as most Final Fantasy characters do, but other than that, most of her ability comes from the special bow she carries. The bow is actually a Mog that changes into a bowsword, a gift from her sister. Serah seemed to pick it up effortlessly when it first arrives with Noel.

[The video turns on and Serah is seen standing in front of what looks to be a store window. She smiles cheerfully at the camera...because that is the best way to start things off when you plan on asking for something!]

Hello, everyone! It's me, Serah. I know I haven't been here very long, but I think it's time that I started asking around about finding work. I don't want to get in the habit of doing nothing all day, after all. Not only that, but some things just aren't free.

[Serah gives a sheepish smile to the camera, clearly a little embarrassed about having to go to the community about this.]

Does anyone need a tutor or a teacher? I did that for about three years before I went to find my sister. I taught younger kids, but that doesn't mean that I can't teach other people, too! I'm a strict teacher, so I'll make sure that my student stays on track.

[She mumbles something about not being "Meanie Miss Farron", glancing off to the side. But it's only for a moment before she looks back to the camera again.]

If you aren't looking for a tutor, I've gotten pretty good at fighting and hunting down lost items for people. It doesn't matter if the area is dangerous or not, I'm sure that I can get the job done! I'm also good at solving puzzles and things like that...but I can't think of a job that might use that...

Anyway! Thank you for listening. If you can think of anything, please let me know.

Third Person:
Serah hadn't been awake for long and it certainly didn't take long for her to realize that this wasn't even close to the place she had been in before. The last thing she had remembered was fighting with Caius in a world that was much, much darker than this one. When she had come to, Serah had found herself faced with neatly cut lawns and houses that seemed nearly identical to one another. Now, this normally wouldn't have been that strange to her, but when shifts in the timeline happened, there were typically landmarks that could be recognized.

Oh yes. Not to mention she wasn't ever given a packet of papers, including car and house keys. Serah sat on the steps of the perfect house, glancing through the papers. "Could fighting with Caius have distorted the timeline this much?" She mused to herself quietly. Was Noel wandering around in this strange place, too? If it was some kind of paradox, she needed Noel and Mog to help resolve it in order to come home. The idea of paradoxes was thrown right out the window, however, when she had come to the end of the words on the page.

"Married?!" Serah jumped to her feet. "I can't be married! I didn't agree to anything like that...Besides, I have Snow!" Judging from the tone of the documents, there wasn't much of a choice. Serah took in a deep breath and sighed it out quietly.

"Lightning, I've really ended up in a mess this time." She said to no one in particular. "I should try and find out more information about this place." The first order of business would be to try and find another person! Then she would look for Noel.
