History:link Appearance: Mihashi is a short, skinny fifteen-year-old with unruly orange hair. link Personality: Mihashi is a timid, highly anxious high school boy with low self-esteem and little confidence in himself. Though he was never particularly loud or confident as a child, he did have a few friends – at least until he entered Mihoshi Academy, where he joined the baseball team and became the pitcher due to his grandfather’s connections with the school. Unfortunately, due to a combination of personality conflicts and being unable to throw hard enough pitches to satisfy his teammates, Mihashi quickly became the most hated member of the team. Though his teammates relentlessly tried to bully him off the pitcher’s mound, Mihashi refused to give up the position. As a result, by the time Mihashi entered his new high school, Nishiura, he was essentially a nervous wreck, convinced that he had no pitching ability and completely unaccustomed to reading hand signs for individual pitches, as his catcher at Mihoshi had never bothered to work with him to develop any.
Mihashi, however, retained his love of baseball and a desperate drive to improve his skills at any cost. Luckily for him, Abe, Nishiura’s new catcher, immediately caught on to what his former teammates had never seen any use for: Mihashi’s unparalleled pitch accuracy, unusual fastball pitch, and willingness to follow any orders from his catcher so long as it meant that he could keep pitching. Eager at the prospect of working with such a pitcher, Abe immediately set to work establishing a highly-effective battery with Mihashi, in which Abe would call the shots and Mihashi would deliver them without fail.
As the success of their partnership (and the revelation that Mihashi was a bullying victim at his previous school) became apparent, Mihashi’s teammates at Nishiura quickly congealed around him, eager to give him the kind of support that he never experienced at Mihoshi. In response, Mihashi began to come out of his shell, though he remains skittish and fearful, especially in the face of loud, forceful personalities. In his daily interactions, Mihashi is excitable, highly expressive, easily intimidated, and eager to please.
Abilities: Mihashi is a baseball pitcher with excellent control over his pitches. None of them are particularly fast, though his fastballs tend to have an unusual backspin that makes them seem to rise up as they reach the plate. Other: N/A
