SAMPLES First Person:sample! Third Person: Without regular battles at hand for him to whet his blade in, Lon’qu felt it was more important than ever to keep up a steady training routine. Despite the seemingly completely peaceful setting he now found himself in, he couldn’t stand the thought of letting himself get rusty. He needed to get better, not worse, after all. He had heights to aspire to, and he certainly wasn’t going to reach them by slacking off. So he persisted, despite not even having a proper blade at hand to use, much to his consternation. Sure, he would use wooden practice swords often back home when he was just working on his form, but there was a difference between using a fake sword and a real one. The weight was off, and swinging around a piece of wood just felt different. It wasn’t a fitting substitute when he wanted to practice fighting seriously.
On top of that, of course, there was the heat. It was the height of summer, and though his homeland had been warm, he’d long since become accustomed to the cold constantly wintery climate of Regna Ferox. It made the summer heat here almost unbearable, even after removing his tunic. But of course, it was just another challenge for him to overcome! That’s what he told himself, anyway. Really, though, it was more and more distracting the longer he persisted with his training. He finally let himself pause for a moment, wiping the sweat from his brow. He glanced at his surroundings, the backyard of his assigned “house.” The greenery and flowers were similarly an odd sight for him. There was some vegetation at home, but none as orderly bright as this. What really caught his attention, though, was a flit of movement and the buzz of wings. Finally he spotted it when it landed on a large rose. A dragonfly, iridescent green with stripes on its wings. It was a lovely specimen. He watched, transfixed, as the creature flitted around the yard, before landing again on the top of his sword. He felt as if it stopped to look up at him before taking off again and zooming out of his view entirely. As if coming out of a trance, Lon’qu realized that he’d spent a good five minutes watching the bug. Well, that’s certainly enough of that! He hastens to return to his training, hoping no one had spotted him being so horribly distracted. OTHER Housing Request?: nope! Did you read the rules and FAQ?:yes!
