Appearance:
Dipper is a young boy with rough brown hair and a birthmark of a constellation (the Big Dipper) on his forehead which he hides underneath his bangs. He is seen wearing his trademark blue pine hat most of the time, along with an orange-colored plain tee and a dark blue vest over it. He's also kind of short — but he's twelve, what can you expect?

Personality:
Dipper Pines is your average, 12 year-old manly-man. He's got quite a passion for proving people wrong in all forms, specifically when it involves him just being a harmless, adorable kid. He's intent on getting the facts straight, although he may jump to inappropriate conclusions like blaming that one reporter for the murder of wax figure!Grunkle Stan, when the man was clearly too engaged in making out with a cut-out of a similar female reporter to do anything harmful. So he's not exactly the best at everything he does; in other words — he doesn't strive to be a cool technically-not-a-teen, and he admits his mistakes when his head gets the better of him. He's actually a kind kid with a heart, and even when something like his pride and 'a shot at love with Wendy' are on the line, he'll go to great heights to do what's right (— even if that involves dancing in a lamb costume and embarrassing himself to save everyone).

He's kind of a weakling, gotta face it. He has absolutely no chest hair — the only one he grew was ripped out by Mabel herself; when he wanted to become stronger and more of a 'real man', he completely trusted a bunch of freaky-looking menotaurs at will (and no caution) to help him achieve his insane goal. Maybe it's the paranormal aspect of Gravity Falls, Oregon that gets him in this weird, no-questioning mood to any of the spooky occurrences that go on, but it's probably the fact that Dipper — and Mabel — have this secret passion for adventure and extraordinary events. He really does love mystery and every chance he can get at cracking a code or solving for the unknown. However, at the first instance of coming close to the finding out the truth, he'll indefinitely take action with the first thing that comes to his head ("You folded it into a map! [...] And I was going to burn it"). Impulsive and fervent, that's Dipper.

Dipper tends to take lead, especially since his twin sister Mabel can be a little ditzy at times. He's attentive and resourceful, having packed 17 disposable cameras to capture at least one picture of the mysterious monster in the lake. He's known to overwhelm himself by 'trying too hard'; talking to Wendy at the party was a piece of cake when he didn't have to resort to using a crazy list. In reality, Dipper's awfully quick at thinking — it doesn't take more than two seconds for him to come up with the idea of using the magic copier for cloning purposes — but at the same time, he doesn't exactly look at the bigger picture, or prepare for the inevitable problematic circumstances that would most likely befall him.

He's mature for his ripe age of 12, which is pretty sweet. Of course, adolescence just means that he'll let things like preteen hormonal romance get in the way of a clear head. What's different about the sibling dynamic in this case, is Dipper doesn't usually find himself distant from Mabel, or embarrassed by her. He's extremely close to his sister — she's at least the one person he can trust in Gravity Falls — many young boys his age would be picky about spending so much time with their sibling, or believe girls are infested with cooties, but this definitely isn't the case for the mystery twins. The two of them complement each other.

Abilites:
He's great at solving mysteries and talking to girls! Alright, maybe that last part was a lie. But yeah, no supernatural abilities to note.
