[There’s a pause as she waits for a response. When none comes, she continues, a nervous edge in her voice.]
Is anyone there...?
[Another pause and the sound of shuffling.]
I’m sorry. I’ve never used a device like this before....ah, my name is Miku Hinasaki. I just arrived in this town. I’m looking for my big brother, Mafuyu. He’s a very kind person with black hair and brown eyes. I saw him before, in that mansion--
[She cuts off, seeming to realize what she’s saying.]
I...I was hoping I could find him here. Is there a way to tell...? That is--if anyone has seen him, please let me know. Thank you very much.

Third Person: This hallway gave her chills. Everything from the mirror at the end, showing only her reflection now, but ghosts at other times, to the boarded doors to the ropes that were strung throughout it. More than once she had begun making her way down the hallway, only to nearly jump out of her skin as one would brush up against her shoulder or sway against her back. At these times she would spin around, camera pointed, searching for the malicious spirit that might have occurred, only to breathe a sigh of relief as she found herself blissfully alone. At the same time, she felt a twinge of disappointment--because she hoped that at once, her paranoia would turn into relief as she looked to see that it was not a spirit or a rope, but her brother.
That never happened, though, so she continued walking down the hallway. She lifted her eyes up to the ceiling, decrepit as the rest of the mansion and once again thought of her brother. Where was he? She saw his shadow as she wandered through this place, but no matter how quickly she followed, a shadow was a shadow and she had no hope of catching up to it. The thought that she might never see him again made her heart ache, but also steeled her resolve. Miku needed to remain courageous not just for herself, but for him too. If she could find a way to end the curse on this place, she was sure that she found find him as well.
“Mafuyu...” The word was a whisper, said under her breath. It was difficult, being in this place, but she wouldn’t regret coming here. Rather, she wished that she had stopped her brother from coming here to search for Takamine. If she had found a way to stop him, perhaps both of them could have avoided this fate. Mafuyu was the most important person in the world to her and she hated that she’d allowed him to put himself in a situation like this.
But the fact that she allowed it, she thought as she pushed the door to the entranceway open, dodging the hole in the ground as she made a beeline for the mask on the other side, was all the more reason that she needed to save him. Him, and the spirits of this place as well.
