IC INFORMATION Characters Name: Romania (no human name, but I can provide one if you need it) Age: Looks to be in his early 20s, though in reality he's 1000+ Canon: Axis Powers Hetalia Canon Point: October 2012 Species: Nation Gender: Male Orientation: Romania's orientation has never been stated in canon, though by societal standards and beliefs it's safe to assume he's predominantly heterosexual with a grayish area when it comes to other nations (unions are very complicated, you see).
In a time where most rely on first impressions to build the foundation for their relationships, one may be surprised to discover that the nation treating them to red eyes and a fanged smile appears to be just another friendly occupant of the world. Romania seems to be a character with few regrets despite possessing his fair share of historical turmoil, as even the strips covering his stay with Russia depict him as a relatively chipper individual. He's open and friendly in most circumstances, treating those he comes across with a cheerful attitude and genuine enthusiasm. Many may even witness his romantic side, as he's certainly not ashamed when it comes to admitting his love for fairy tales and the princesses that are often associated with them.
Yet it's when one dives beneath the surface that they soon realize there's more to the nation than what they catch upon first glance. Whether it's a biproduct of his upbringing or simply a characteristic that's always existed with his people, it doesn't take much for Romania to reveal traits that would leave plenty of people wary. At best his tastes could be considered 'eclectic' while at worst most would be willing to describe it as 'eccentric', though the nation himself would be entertained by either description. He possesses a mischievous side that often bleeds into other social cues, as he's certainly not above being playful wherever he feels it's appropriate. But what may be the most worrying trait is the fact that what the nation finds 'appropriate' is terribly skewed compared to the norm. Romania's unknowingly morbid when it comes to his sense of humor and overall view of the world, completely unaware of the fact that what he shares may make his listeners uncomfortable. This was apparent in one conversation he shared with Bulgaria, showing obvious admiration for his boss that inspired the creation of Count Dracula and correcting the other nation's assumptions with recollections far more disturbing than what the fictional character has accomplished.
It may be an understatement to say that the nation holds his folklore in high regard. Much of his population remains convinced by the idea that the supernatural continues to be tangled into their everyday lives. Romania has a fondness for magic regardless if it's considered 'good' or 'bad', and regularly incorporates old traditions into many of his daily routines. It's as much of a part of him as the lands claimed under his name, and so he's more than willing to impart his knowledge in order to solve any issues, whether it's for bad cooking or banishing demons into a dimensional rift. It's stated that his specialty lies with good luck charms, though it extends to general magic as well.
It's a rare occurrence for Romania to show any ill feelings towards any particular person, but that certainly doesn't mean that there aren't any exceptions. The tension that exists between himself and Hungary has done so for several centuries, and it's unlikely that the two will settle their differences by the next century or two. One can easily describe their feud as being similar to that between cats and dogs, and neither is above using dirty tactics in order to prove their 'superiority'. A specific example includes Hungary going so far as to name her own dogs after Romania as a sort of insult of his status.
All in all, Romania is certainly an interesting nation to deal with, and while he's well-meaning all-in-all it wouldn't be wise to turn one's back to him right off the bat.
Abilites: As an embodiment of a nation, Romania possesses traits commonly shared by his kind. He's 'immortal' in the sense that his existence is connected to the physical landmass of Romania, so his longevity and endurance is much higher compared to humans. However, that also means he's affected by the state of his government and economy. Aside from that, it's been previously mentioned that he has a fondness for magic, being one of the nations where this is confirmed in canon.

[When the webacm is activated Romania is seen sitting at the kitchen table, an easy smile drawn over his lips.]
If this is a prison then it's certainly one of the better ones. Some might say we're being held here against our will, but we're lucky to be spending our time in houses instead of holes! However, there's always ways to improve our conditions, and so I'm looking to improve mine.
[With that he'll hold up his phone for the webcam to show: a bulky thing with buttons and an antenna.]
You see, I have ancestors younger than this phone, and I'd rather be caught carrying around England's scones than this old thing. Buying another would be reasonable, but why not put some use into this artifact?
So I'm proposing a trade, and then some! Do you desire a promotion for your job? Or maybe you want to banish the witch you were unknowingly married to? Give me the latest model and I'll concoct something that'll suit your needs.
