IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Riko Aida
Age: 17
Canon: Kuroko no Basuke
Canon Point: Chapter 145, before the Seirin-Yousen match
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Orientation: Heterosexual. She even volunteers to reward her team with a kiss if they win, though that sort of backfires horribly.

History: Over here!
Appearance: What a cutie. Her hair's a little longer, though, since she decided to grow it out until the Winter Cup had ended.

Personality: The basis of Riko's personality is that she very much does not like a defeatist attitude. When she's approached to coach Seirin's forming basketball team, she initially refuses, because she's seen that in the presence of a strong team like Teikou, other teams have already given up. And she refuses to coach a team that isn't prepared to manifest the effort and determination needed to win, even in the face of overwhelming odds. In order to test the freshmen's resolve, she tells them that they have to announce their goals on top of the roof during morning assembly-- and if they fail to meet them, then they have to confess naked to the girl they like. And she's serious. She's merciless when it comes to training her team, often doubling or tripling their practice, or giving the entire team a good slap across the face when the starters ask her to hit them out of their funk.

Which brings us to Riko's misfortune with her physical appearance. She's been called cute before, but it's also been claimed that she lacks sex appeal, and she gets extreme blows to her self-esteem when her team reacts unfavorably towards her incentive of kissing them for winning a game, and when Kagami's former basketball teacher mistakes Riko for an elementary school kid because of her small chest. She's definitely jealous of Momoi (and her F-cups), and if anyone in her team is unlucky enough to get caught staring, she's more than willing to put them through more Training Hell as punishment. And when someone on a rival team insults her status as an attractive woman, she cheerfully signs to her team to slaughter them immediately. Riko does not take kindly to insults.

Lastly, while she works her team hard, Riko's just as tough on herself. Her dad often has to come into her room to tell her to go to sleep, since she stays up late working on strategies and schedules, and she still makes enough time to coach the basketball team, get good grades, and be vice president of the student council. Despite her failure at cooking, she persists and ends up with her fingers plastered in band-aids, something she tries to hide. The one time she truly falters is when she berates herself for not being a good enough coach to fully hone her team to their strongest, and she hates that she's sending an injured player back out to play. Of course, then she's motivated by a few words from Kagami, because he reminds her that she's been putting a lot into supporting them and that it's thanks to her efforts that they're even doing this well. In the end, she really just wants the best for Seirin, and she'll push her team and herself to get there.

But she's still a girl, so expect to see her with cute kittens on her phone or to have a squealing fit over the team mascot, a husky puppy. It's just that this girl can pull wrestling moves on you or make you regret ever pissing her off, and she's a lot better motivating by powerful words and a gung-ho attitude than she is at acting cutesy.

Abilities: As a coach, she's very skilled in coming up with training schedules and preparing Seirin for their matches, which includes forming play styles, and thoroughly analyzing opposing teams. She still advises during matches and is on hand to tape injuries and offer incredibly painful but highly effective massages. Her main ability is her Scan, though. By looking at a person's body (shirtless being the easiest), Riko can accurately read their strengths and weaknesses. Put simply as possible, "By looking at someone's body), that girl's eyes can see all its physical abilities in numerical values." It not only helps her see potential and promising players, but she's also the first to notice if something's wrong with a player. She can tell when Kagami's favoring one leg or putting too much strain on himself, for example. And this ability includes being able to determine height and weight, what parts of the body need work, etc. This is a skill she cultivated from spending her childhood at her father's gym, looking at data and the athletes.

Also, she's violent. Don't think that she won't use wrestling moves on you for being difficult.

Other: Her cooking is kind of lethal, if she's left unmonitored for more than three seconds. It's kind of amazing how bad she is at it, even when she's walked through it. And she is apparently also very good at knitting and crocheting.

SAMPLES
First Person: From the Sick Day Meme

Third Person:

It wasn't so much the fact that she'd woken up in a lawn chair with the keys to a new house and hopefully housemates who wouldn't harbor any of her father's perverted or overprotective tendencies. It wasn't even so much the fact that she'd supposedly been whisked away to a magical neighborhood because some creepy guy wanted people to live in it-- or that had been what she'd surmised, anyway. No, what truly bothered Riko was that, if she had no way of getting home, that left Seirin without a coach. More accurately, that left Seirin in the hands of a bunch of high school boys who could very easily get off-track without her around to ensure that they kept up the training.

More sentimentally, she didn't like the idea of being the only one not there for the Winter Cup, after she'd seen her team through to this point. And she wasn't the ace that Kagami was, nor was she a member of the Generation of Miracles. But hadn't Kagami himself told her that she'd done plenty for them? Hadn't Hyuuga dragged the team back to the bench to have Riko slap some sense into all of them? She couldn't slack off or feel sorry for herself; if she had some extra time on her hands now, better to devote it to working on training ideas, so that when she saw her team again, she could whip them back into shape immediately. She could even use the backs of the papers she'd found herself piled with to jot down and refine a few ideas until she could find a store and get some proper notebooks.

Until the entire team got here or she went back home - and probably beyond that - Riko wasn't going to sit back on a lawn and sunbathe.

And if nothing else, she'd get a reprieve from her father standing in her doorway and telling her not to ruin her skin by staying up too late. There was one bright side already.
