He has shown interest in women heavily, but nations have a different approach to gender, sex, and sexual orientation. With this, his personality is not only shaped around the ideals, desires, ideology of the Roman empire, but also his personality comes from the average Roman plebeian. He was born great and powerful, and he knows it. He knows how strong he is, and he's always up for a good fight. Sometimes he enjoys fighting too excessively and it has caused him problems and has hurt him. He's driven to conquer and make other nations and peoples a part of him. This desire to integrate other nations and peoples shows in his personality and history. He's been a father/guardian figure for many of the future European nations such as Spain and Frace. While not always the nicest policy wise, he took in these nations rather than just conquering and enslaving them. He guarded them, taught them many things, and imprinted heavily on them.
Rome has a great weakness for women, wine, food, battle, and his cute grandsons (aka Italy and Romano in Hetalia). Rome is known to be a playboy, often day dreaming about attractive women and food. He doesn't care for the political side of the Roman empire, just wanting to fight and be a soldier. He easily gets excited when it comes to violence -- from gladiator matches to long battles in foreign lands. He loves partying, meeting new people, and taking part in debauchery. He's a social butterfly, and sometimes a little too bold when it comes to beautiful women. When he's not fighting, he can actually be quite caring and kind. His softer side is shown with his grandchildren, and it shows he's more than just a fighter. He loves to teach Roman things to people, and he's protective of those who are loyal to him. He also has a weakness for his grandsons, ignoring many of their flaws and thinking they are adorable. When it does come to more serious matters, AKA when he is forced to be, he is a strong leader who uplifts the spirits of his men and those fighting alongside him. He just finds the political side of things downright boring beyond belief.
Rome had a lot of friendship/fighting sort of relationships with his neighbors and loved ones. It's said that his greatest are Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece. He spent a lot of his time with these two nations, loving them, caring for them, and sometimes being a jerk to them. He was infatuated with them, and this translated in him adopting cultural practices of both nations into his own. He has a lot of history with Germania, and he considers the other nation his best friend in hetalia canon. Germania used to work with Rome, but they've also fought and hurt each other throughout the years. Even with their history, he's seen as easy going and very friendly towards Germania, often making fun of him and teasing him in a friendly manner.
Overall Rome has two sides of him. There is the fighter who is powerful, conquering lands and spreading Roman ideology. He's strong, and a little bit greedy to say the least. He's the type to work hard in a fight and party even harder when it's time to celebrate. On the other hand, in more intimate situations with friendly and relatives, he is a down to earth father figure his former underlings known him as in present day Europe. While not always the kindest, he really thought the Roman way would help other nations under his wing grow and under him and become powerful.
Abilities: Since he is a nation, and a very powerful one in his time, Rome has super strength and endurance. He cannot die by normal/human circumstances such as being shot in the head like other nations depicted in the Hetalia canon.

Rome thought he was going to lead the future, but instead it seemed the future has come to him instead. Right before he arrived here, he was dreaming of his two favorite loves -- ah, Kemet and Graecia. Thinking of those two lovely nations warmed his heart every single time. He wondered for a second how they would think of this place and of the small nations he once raised. Would the future really be like how they described? At least he was glad to hear he left a lasting mark on many other nations. He wondered how his two grandsons were doing and what their "modern" versions would be like. Feliciano was always such a gifted, happy child. Romano on the other hand had enough spirit to fuel a hundred legions in his army.
Though, it's amazing how much things have changed in a couple of thousand years. There are lot of foreign, new things to him, but at the same time very familiar things. Family has always been important to him, and while he's still not forgiven (or even near it) this "landlord" man, he will admit that having strong values about the family is a good thing. Not that meant much, even the most ignorant of fools had some good ideas. Rome already had plenty of ideas what to do him -- some good and some just to get his frustration and anger out. If he could, he would bring the "landlord" back with him and feed him to the lions.
Yes, this place was different, but that didn't mean he would have to change everything about himself. No, he would bring Roman culture to the people of Holly Heights. He has done this plenty of times, and he thought of it as an enlightenment of sorts. He saw traces of his influence and of himself in the other nations, but that wasn't enough. He was here, and he would once again make history.
