IC INFORMATION Characters Name: Germany ( Ludwig, no last name given. ) Age: Physically, 20ish, but in reality HE OLD. Canon: Axis Powers Hetalia Canon Point: October 3rd, 1990 (Reunification date) Species: Personified Nation! Gender: Male Orientation: It actually seems to be pretty ambiguous, it's stated that he's never really had 'relations' with anyone so it's a little up in the air. He does have a hard time talking with women, so for the sake of comfort it would probably be easier to house him with another man, but I wouldn't be opposed if he had to bunk with a woman. In terms of orientation, if I had to pick one I would say bisexual, at least. IT'S DIFFICULT TO SAY.
History:Hetalia-Wiki & Actual History Appearance:here?? but no, seriously, here. THE FACES ARE ACCURATE, OKAY??? Personality: Stalwart and by the book, Germany is a very serious sort of guy. He has a very commanding and sometimes intimidating demeanor about him, one that makes it hard to tell the difference between a lecture and a regular conversation. While it can be hard to tell at first, he's really just a gruff sort of person; a guy that's prone to yell and make his irritation rather clear if he can't keep it contained any longer (which does tend to happen). Rarely is there ever a smile on his face and it's difficult to catch him at a moment when he's actually relaxed, for those moments seem to be few and far between. There will be more on that later, though, I promise!
He's the type to follow the rules to the letter, the guy that reads the whole manual to take in every single detail. While this does make him rather efficient and almost unwaveringly loyal in many cases, it also makes him weak in the sense that he's obligated to follow orders even when it's something that he doesn't agree with or stick with people that he's not necessarily fond of. It's safe to say that if he makes a promise to someone or comes to some kind of agreement, he's not likely to go back on it. He's definitely a man of his word, even in cases where such a thing would make him suffer himself; it actually sometimes can border a little more on stubbornness than anything else though. Since he is so big on rules, it almost goes without saying that he's rather strict in many aspects.
He doesn't have a high tolerance for mistakes or messes or cowardice (don't even get him started on how irritating whining can be), preferring for things to be neat and tidy. If you make a mess while cooking, he'll be there to clean it up before the mess really sets in. He's the sort to question whether you should really be doing something if all you're going to do is make a mess out of it (or the kitchen). Going along with this, he is very detail oriented and into collecting data; be it about a person or a place (I mean, let's be real, he had a journal devoted to Italy's every day activities). He takes great pride in all that he does, preferring to make sure that his work is done well and avoiding shortcuts.
All of this makes for a seemingly confident person, even though he does lean more toward being pessimistic. His stoic and angry personality does waver at times though, particularly when it comes to talking to women or about relationships. In these instances he becomes rather flustered and embarrassed, making communication particularly difficult. While he can't really talk to grown women and doesn't really make the effort unless it's business related, he seems to have no trouble talking to younger ones and acting as a father figure to them (grade school or younger only). He's also not very good at taking compliments, becoming flustered at those as well (or more speechless, rather).
Underneath all those layers, there is a slightly different personality; though it doesn't really show itself all that often. He likes to cook, particularly sweets, though that is more of a guilty pleasure and not something that he would ever broadcast to others. It's more like a secret hobby, all things considered, and he seems quite happy when he has time like this to himself. It also seems to make him rather content to read and spend time with his pets (dogs, of course). It is also indicated that he likes to makes things with his hands and do delicate work, but it can be problematic sometimes because he feels he's too meticulous and his fingers are too 'fat'. This side is definitely rarely seen, because it's hard for him to trust other people and really 'be himself'. Abilities: He doesn't really have any 'special' abilities, I don't think. He's good at yelling and I suppose there's other typical country stuff? Good constitution and healing stuff. Other: BEER AND SAUSAGE???
[ It's silent for a long time, Germany feels that he has a lot to say but he's not sure how to say it. He'd read all the paperwork provided to him, in fact he'd read it twice to make sure that he hadn't missed anything but he still wasn't sure that it made sense.
The look on his face is intense, one can only imagine what the atmosphere felt like surrounding him. Just when he'd thought things were becoming stable, the universe had to throw something new at him. Finally he clears his throat, stern look not changing even in the slightest. ]
Given the circumstances, it would appear that I don't have any choice but to go along with...
[ What was this, a game? Charade? He couldn't think of what to call it, the blonde closing his eyes. ]
...with all of this. To my new...family... [ It's clear he's having a hard time wrapping his head around all of this. Suddenly thrust into a relationship...him without his books, not that they'd really helped him all that much in the past. His expression is getting more and more grim as he thinks on it, finally shaking himself out of it as he knits his brow again and slams his hand down against the table. ]
Dinner will be at 6:30 sharp, do not be late! Anyone not seated at the table with the rest of us will not be served.
[ He pauses to think about whether he should say anything else, looking away from the screen. ]
That is all.
[ And with that, he cuts off the feed. ]
Third Person:
It had been no small feat to read through all the paperwork provided, but he'd managed it; not just once, but twice. The papers had been stacked nicely on the table, a small notebook sitting beside it with clearly outlined notes. A new home, a new family, a whole new setting...
No matter how many times he read through it all, it didn't really seem to make any more sense and it certainly didn't make him happy. He could have chosen to look at this as a fresh start, but it really was more of an inconvenience than anything. A sigh as he leaned back in his seat, bringing a hand up to pinch at the bridge of his nose. Perhaps it was time to test all of the keys out, sitting here and brooding about it was getting him nothing but a headache.
He stepped out onto the porch, arms behind his back as he truly took in the set up of the neighbourhood and the lawn. Clean and tidy, a fleeting look of approval passed over his face before he stepped down the walkway, arms not moving from behind his back. There still was a lot to take in, but at least the appearance was something that he could get behind. At least so long as they could be maintained, that is.
He continued on his stroll, deadpan expression as he glanced from yard to yard, unconsciously checking for weeds. So far so goo--
What was that? What was that?? He paused in mid-step, the only movement that of his foot to line up with the other as he stared at someone not that far from him. Someone crossing the road when there was a perfectly good crosswalk not more than 12 feet away from him, it was enough to make him shatter the quiet of the neighbourhood, voice echoing between the houses.
"YOU OVER THERE! YOU CAN'T JUST WALK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD LIKE THAT!"
A pause once he was sure he had his attention, Germany clearing his throat.
"You'll disrupt the flow of traffic and become a danger, use the crosswalk, it's there for a reason!"
It was all for naught, instead of heeding his warning, the man in the street simply stared for a moment; wide-eyed before he took off running in the other direction. All Germany could do was stare, expression blank.
Never mind, he hated this place after all.
