History:Here! Appearance:Just don't call her Lotta Hair... Personality: The first thing that can be said about “Lotta Hart” is that she definitely has a “lotta” energy. She has an aggressive Type A personality; she’s a go-getter, and she throws herself headfirst into anything that catches her interest, even if it tends to cause problems for other people down the road. For example, she was a college student...but she decided to become a paranormal photographer after catching a UFO on film (or so she believed); the career change was instant and she was already looking through the tabloids and looking into how to advance her career. She’s always on the run, never staying in one place for long, and she’s the kind of person who’s quick to make friends and regale a story or two. She likes to think she has a sense of humor and jokes often, but she isn’t exactly a comedian (but don’t worry—if you didn’t get her joke, she’ll gladly repeat it for you until it’s clear!).
Unfortunately for herself and others, her endless zeal and enthusiasm tends to create problems and get herself into trouble. The clearest examples of these are in her testimonies—in Ace Attorney, she appears as a witness twice. In the first case, she catches a few very small details by accident and blows it out of proportion until she admits to having seen the entire thing (she hadn’t). In the second game, despite having just rushed into a room where a murder has just occured, she has the audacity to start snapping pictures that implicate her friend Maya Fey. Once again, on the witness stand she tells details that never really occurred. Even outside of these, though, she tends to jump to conclusions and throw accusations about. She gets into arguments, as seen in her interactions with Franziska von Karma, and accuses her friend Phoenix Wright for stealing her camera despite any evidence to the contrary.
Still, at her “Hart”, Lotta is a good person—she’s following her dreams of journalism, and she’s generally pretty helpful...as long as you’re helpful right back at her. There’s no inherent malice in many of her actions, and her questionable photographs stalled the courtroom and offered enough doubt to save the lives of both Miles Edgeworth and Maya Fey. When she’s called out for being wrong, she’ll readily admit and apologize for her actions. When it comes down to it, she does consider the people she’s grown close to in the Ace Attorney games friends—she’s all to eager to snap a group photo of everyone after Miles Edgeworth’s name is cleared, and her worry over Maya Fay in Reunion, And Turnabout is very apparent. She doesn’t want to believe she’s the murderer, but is upset because she can’t think of anyone else she could be (until Lotta decides to blame Ini Miney, making this the first and only time that Lotta’s been right about who’s murdered who).
Lotta also has a strange tendency to be a bit down on herself. After her photos seem to make things worse in Reunion, And Turnabout, she spends a good portion of her time running away from Phoenix Wright and calling herself trash. She even goes so far as to hide herself in a clothes basket. She’s quick to admit in conversation that she’s not dumb because she’s from the south, but that she’s dumb for a lot of other reasons...and other similar comments. Lotta always bounces back quickly, though...almost as quickly as she changes careers.
Despite her strange enthusiasm for everything, she’s still a human deep down...and she’s sometimes really brave. When she hears gunshots go off in Kurain Village, she rushes in there with Phoenix Wright to try and save Maya from whatever’s going on. She has fears—she hates bloody stuff and the occult (which is a shame for her, because that’s all she EVER gets herself involved in). Clearly, she doesn’t even think about this when she jumps from career to career...but it’d be too far of a stretch to say she’s not much of a planner. Lotta is very patient. She’s a bit of a stake-out pro. She camps all alone in the woods on Christmas with top-end gear trained to catch anything that moves or picks up a loud noise. That takes dedication, and when it comes to working hard, Lotta’s certainly got that in spades...even if it always causes problems for everyone.
And of course, you can’t talk about Lotta without talking about where she came from. Being from the heart of the heartland, Lotta is a southern girl at heart. It shows in the way she talks. She pronounces acronyms instead of saying them letter by letter (yoofoh instead of U-F-O), and she tends to make up strange vocabulary (Reckon course means “Ya reckon? Of course I did!,” though she later uses it just as “of course!”, and reckongiven means “Ya reckon? That’s a given!”). She uses “Y’all” and “Pa” and other common southern terms when talking to others, which tends to make people look down on her. She’s quick to remind people, however, that she’s not dumb and that’s she’s a sensitive lady so it’s not okay to be a jerk at her for it! Besides, she can “talk Yank” if she really wants to...but she might tell you a story about something she wrassled growing up or about how her pa raised her before she does!
All in all, Lotta’s a colorful character. She’s hard to deal with, but she’s incredibly well-meaning beneath all of her demands for questions. Her zeal might create a lot of problems and she takes everything and runs five miles with it, but at the end of the day she’s a surprisingly hard-working gal, if a bit fickle when it comes to actually choosing a career. People might be quick to speak badly of her for her accent, treating her like she’s from a different country, but the laugh’s on them. This girl has a lotta hair, and a lotta smiles—it’ll take more than a few harsh words and a few botched testimonies to keep her from getting back up! Abilities: Lotta is good at stake-outs and at accidentally taking really weird pictures, but she's a normal human being! Other: Nothing~
