At first glance, Jack appears to be always happy and looking on the bright side. He's the type that could easily put others around him in a sense of ease with just a simple smile or a few kind words. Many times he is also seen as cheerful about everything in some ways. However, even with how exaggerated these traits seem to be, Jack is far from the happy-go-lucky person he appears to be. The true Jack Vessalius is truly a mystery to everyone, including himself, so he hides these kinds of problems behind a veil of obnoxious, loud, and playful banter.
Jack can be very childish in his actions perhaps because his own childhood was much like a hell. He loves to climb, saying it’s his specialty, sneaking into places he shouldn’t, and flirting with just about anyone he wants to. Though this does get him into trouble, such as when he snuck into the Baskerville manor. The threat of injury or death doesn’t detour his actions in the least bit because after he got to see Lacie again there, he could die happy.

Not knowing his true self is something that Jack harbors a degree of fear for. Because he doesn’t know, he doesn’t wish for any other person to every find out either. So, he instead creates a persona to himself to hide the fact he is, in truth, ‘empty’. If he can appear to be something, at least, then no one will dive deeper into his existence. With that, it’s no surprise that when someone like Oswald calls him out on how empty he is Jack is embarrassed and overreacts by throwing wine on the man.
Because of this lack of knowing, it is simple to see how Jack can be easily lead by someone like Lacie. Having been looked down on his entire life as an illegitimate child, Jack, without knowing, longed for someone that would treat him like a normal human being... not just garbage left on the side of the road. Meeting Lacie fulfilled this kind of need for the man. She didn’t look down on him and even gave him food and attention for a day, which was more kindness than he had ever received in his life. For this matter with a personality like Jack's, he was easily able to become obsessed with finding the girl again - enough that while he searched for her, he did whatever he had to to survive like she said, whether that was through selling his body, killing, or stealing.
This ease of being influenced and obsessing speaks to the core of Jack’s personality, and that is the fact he is a psychopath. Jack doesn’t see any wrong in what he might do as long as it gets him to what he wants or feels he needs in his life. In example of his, while searching for Lacie he did anything to survive and never once questioned his actions and didn't care about whom he might have hurt to accomplish anything. Previously he had strong enough morals to make him tell Lacie that being a whore is dirty, but he grit his teeth and bared it, indulging so that he could meet Lacie again. A lack of empathy is a large trait of someone with a psychotic personality.
Another is the ability to manipulate. For a psychopath like Jack, since he can’t even see his own true personality, he must manipulate those around him into believing he’s normal... because normal is what is socially acceptable. This why Jack’s personality can be terrifying in many ways. He can easily push himself into a situation while seeming to be like everyone else when he’s not, really thinking about how to rid himself of obstacles in his way. Jack is a master of smiles and stretching the truth because of this manipulative trait. He can fake a smile on a whim to get something he feels like he needs, or to gain someone’s trust in order to use them. Though, that’s why if some people can see past these manipulative actions they can’t be tolerated and then they become either a threat or something to fear; Oswald Baskerville is in the realm of fear, able to see through his lies and empty eyes. Jack’s convinced even himself that he’s normal since he no long tries to find out whom he really is.
However, on the other side of the coin with this kind of personality Jack can be fiercely and almost borderline obsessive, protective and loyal to someone. This fact also comes with a degree of jitteriness towards certain people - Oswald - though Jack attempts to hide that fact and ultimately fails simply because he doesn't know how to handle Oswald. He can also channel this kind of obsession into using others near or around him, like in the instance of two children he finds on the street, Gilbert and Vincent. He saves them only because Vincent is a Child of Misfortune just like Lacie, only to find out that Gilbert will become the next Glen - then he uses this all to factor into his ultimate goal: giving the world to Lacie in the Abyss.

Really they were a surprise find for the blond but they were a good one none-the-less, especially since it seems that Gilbert was in to be the next Glen. Such cute little kids. However after he got to the manor his day took a drastic turn with his arrival in this Holly Heights place.
Once he recovers from his initial shock of his arrival he starts to play with the device he's been given until it clicks on with a interesting sound. Time to get some answers!
A new face to this place appears on the device. Long blond hair and bright green eyes are accompanied by a bright smile. He looks at the device not sure if only his voice or face can be seen, still he will present himself the best he can.]

I wanted to say hello and I was rather curious as to how I got here all of a sudden. This doesn't seem very normal in many ways. Oh, I started to ask something before introducing myself! My name is Jack Vessalius, but you may all call me Jack of course. [His usual charm is going into a bit of an overdrive right about now.]
Now with my question before is there a way to realistically get back home? I have some rather pressing matters I really should return to before something goes astray. If anyone might be so kind I can be easily reached on this thing I guess.
