The reason being is that simply putting a name does not help me if the character has not yet apped either. Discuss it together and find a house to put yourself in that fits with your slotting and preferences. Please make sure you run your app sections (personality/samples) through a word counter. I use this one! If they don't comply with the minimum word counts, then no dice. The age rule is non-negotiable. You can beg me to put your 14 looking character who is actually a gazillion in a kid slot all you want but it will not happen. You do not need to reply to your acceptance logged in as the journal. You just need to tell me the journal name so I can accept it to the communities.

He runs the Tent O' Telepathy, being a child "psychic", and is constantly trying to run his competitor - The Myster Shack and it's owner the Pines family - out of business. Of course, that's a little difficult when you find yourself enamored by the young girl of the family and his twin brother happens to kick a lot of ass. But Gideon kicks some derierre too. He's just on the evil side.
Gideon is always scheming. Whether it's for more ways to charm and shock and wow the populous of Gravity Falls or how to finally seize the Shack, the plans simply do not stop. No, okay, that's a lie. They'll stop for ice cream or abusing his parents, but other than that he always has some scheme to put into motion. They can be as simple as walking up and trying to trick someone into signing away their properties to as complicated and likely unnecessary as building a giant robot in his visage.
Which brings us to another point. Did I ever mention how conceited he can be? Because if not, that's something you should definitely know. People exist to listen to his cocamaimy psychic predictions, give him money, and love him. He's so convinced of this that when confronted with the idea that Mabel doesn't love him, he blames Dipper for 'getting in between them'. He blames the family at whole. And he continues to pine (haha see what I did there) for her, refusing to hurt her when his excessive plans could cause harm and claiming that he will make her his queen when he finally takes over Gravity Falls.
And if you couldn't guess, he is spoiled beyond all reason. His father won't speak up against him, doing his bidding whenever Gideon begins to raise his voice, and his mother...well. She's not a very talkative woman. She likes to keep to herself and her cleaning. When he isn't getting his way, he's yelling and throwing things and breaking what he can until he does get his way. And really his personality just keeps going down from there.
He is, however, at least good at showmanship. Kind of a ham, but who isn't when you're someone like this? He sings in his commercials, he sings in his psychic performances, he'll make a show out of just about anything. And when he does things, he does them big. He doesn't just 'read' your mind, he turns it into a musical number. He doesn't just dress up a little for a holiday, he'll go the full 9 historic yards. He doesn't just tear down the Mystery Shack, he plans on building an entire amusement park in honor of himself called "Gideon Land" there!

Just think about that for a moment.
Abilities: Gideon's only abilities are being strangely charming, exceedingly deceitful and obsessively scheming. Every other ability, such as his "telepathy", are created from his enginuity. Obtaining a magical amulet, using a mystical journal to his advantage, using pins to record people so he can claim this information as being 'psychic'...

Third Person: "Why, hello all you good folk of this cute lil' community!" There's a charming smile on the face of this little tyke. He's standing on the street corner in the shopping district, a handmade sign hoisted above him dubbing him a "child psychic" and a sleek, velvet lined box sitting open in front of him on the ground. "Wouldn't you like to know what's in your future? Well it's your lucky day!" With a wave of his stubby little arms, confetti rains down from the sign and a couple of white birds fly off.
"I'm Lil' Gideon, and I am here to tell you! So why don't you sit on down and let me take a lil' peek into your future! Come on, don't be shy!" The crowd gathered in front of him seem a little more skeptical than the simpler folk of Gravity Falls, but that doesn't seem to deter the boy any at all. He looks them all over, picking out obvious but not so obvious facts about them, and chuckles. As he begins pointing these things out, the youngest members of the group seem to be in awe. The older people probably realize this is a scam, but gosh he's just so darn cute.
Of course, anyone with any real autonomy might realize what a scam this is, but he's happy fooling these people for now. After all, if he fools a few of them, they'll go tell their friends. Those friends will come to see his psychic abilities already believing, somewhere in their mind, that they're real. And then they will be shocked and awed and will go tell even more friends. Word of mouth is a delicious way to spread information, because it gets bigger and better with each retelling.
Gideon loved it.
If nothing else, it's taking his mind off of the sudden scenary change. And the family that doesn't follow his every command like they should.
